My son is gay and I love him very much, but his soul is more important than his feelings. I told him from the beginning I would never approve of his relationship nor would I ever attend a wedding. He loved me enough to respect my stand.

I'm bi myself and when I decided to join the Catholic Church, I knew I could no longer act on the same-sex attraction that I feel. I choose God and I haven't regretted it yet.
The Word is the Word. We can't change it, water it down or deny it just because it's uncomfortable. I had to confront those feelings within me and make a decision. The next hard thing I'll have to do is to decline attending any same sex "weddings". I have some friends who are part of that community and whom I love dearly, but they can't compete with God. He has to come first in my life.

Not attending our daughter’s ‘wedding’ was the most difficult decision we’ve made and she hasn’t spoken to us since. I pray everyday that she will one day understand why we made a stance for God. He loves her more than we do and we believe He is pursuing her to call her out of the darkness.
You lost her. What you did more than likely pushed her further away from God. We need to love people, especially our children in spite of their sin, not turn our backs on them.
Stand firm on God’s word!! Don’t ever give in! Hopefully one day, she’ll see the importance of your stance 🙏

@user-mj4vw3cm9y she didn't turn her back...according to OP, her daughter turned HER back (won't speak to them) because they wouldn't attend and affirm her marriage. I don't see anything in her comment about parents no longer wanting a relationship with the daughter. So many adult children don't like their parents beliefs and stances, then decide to cut off relationships.
This hits close to home as my daughter is contemplating marring her girlfriend. As you can imagine I’m absolutely heart broken over this. She knows better and has heard the truth her whole life but has decided to believe a lie. Please pray for her and my wife and I. Please pray!

My daughter ended up marrying her girlfriend. I was heartbroken but did not give into affirming it. I nor any other family member attended that illegal and ungodly wedding. Now, about seven years into that fake marriage, my daughter wants out and is on her way of being free from it. Eventhough my daughter was so hurt and angry at me and my family, now we are closer than ever. Fervent prayers will work thongs out. I will truely pray for you all. God bless you.

My son is gay, I’ve had this talk with him. He took it as I don’t love him. It’s very heartbreaking. In the end he understood that I do love him but I just don’t agree with his choice of lifestyle. I will continue to walk in obedience to God.
Loving God over even our own children will mean that we can love our children more deeply than if God was not our first love.
May the love of God continue to reign in your life, that you will one day see the love of God reign in your son's life.

My daughter went through a ‘phase’ of saying she was gay and even to the point of wanting “a sex change”. I refuse to be a part of ANY of it as did my husband (her father who raised her, not her biological father) and her brother and other family and friends in our community. Now you have her biological father who was never in her life and trying to ‘get into her life’ so he was “cool with it!!” I NEVER stopped praying even when she was planning a wedding. My Heavenly Father answered my prayers when she caught her “fiancée” cheating on her and although she was devastated and hurt she is now currently waiting on God to send her the man he has to be her husband and father of her children. Praise His Holy Name 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

“Love does not delight in evil” (I Cor. 13) is sometimes translated as “Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness.” Both mean that we should not celebrate what God says is wrong. Another example we are living in the "last days" and God is NOT mocked. Real love is the love of Christ, not the celebration of sin.

My daughter, who has been married before to a woman, just remarried another. She tried both times to get me to attend her ceremony. She kept saying that I don't accept who she is. I've been Born again since she was 7, ( now 43 )long before she decided she felt like this. After repeatedly saying I love you but no as she knows it goes against God's will. I ended the conversation when I told her you want acceptance. However, you don't accept me for who I am, a Child of God! Case closed.

I can't see myself attending a gay wedding but not sure doing so would necessarily be sinful. Let's say your unmarried daughter is pregnant and invites you to the baby shower. Would you not attend or bring a gift so as not to affirm out of wedlock birth?

After seeing the title and before watching it, I thought Alistair Begg supported gay marriage, when really he supports some people attending gay weddings. I'm a regular listener to Alistair Begg on Bott Radio (Christian network) and it blows my mind that someone so well versed in God's Word could be deceived. It breaks my heart, I pray that God shows him his error and he publicly repents.

How can I, a follower of Christ go against Gods word to flee sexual immorality or lust and teach my kids to try and beat God at sin. It would be detrimental to their walk. We cannot make God who we want Him to be. The people would say “so you would risk your kids getting pregnant or hiv?” I said it’s not ME risking them anything. The risk is their soul not putting faith in God and His Word or believing that when He said those who PRACTICE such things will not inherit eternal life. I’d rather my kids be mad at me for years but come to Christ than be their friend to hell smh. Fear the Lord, keep His Commandments. It would be their choice to disobey Gods love by having sex and getting an STD. Likewise if my kids said they got someone pregnant or my daughter says “Mom can you go with me. I can’t keep the baby and getting an abortion”. The Holy Spirit would not lead me to go with her for support to prove I love her. No, I would be pleading with her not to do this as it is against Gods law and respect for life. People look at me like an alien but the fact is YOU DON’T TRUST GOD MEANT WHAT HE SAID and you have made the person you love an idol over God. Life is always about obeying God.

A person very close to me was getting married and didn't even invite me to anything. It was later mentioned that because of the places the events were held they all said I wouldn't come anyway. I wasn't invited to the wedding either because of the choice of clothing worn. I wasn't the least bit upset. They all know how I am!

Alastair Begg does NOT condone homosexual relationships. When he asked, “Does your grandson understand that your belief in Jesus makes it such that you can’t countenance in any affirming way the choices he has made?…” tells us that he DOES NOT support it. I have listened to him for years and know that he DOES NOT condone homosexuality or homosexual “marriage.”
For Allen to skip over this point is to be disingenuous. Allen merely says that Begg asked a couple of questions. Well, those questions happen to be very important. The questions themselves tell us that Begg doesn’t approve of this behavior.
Begg is, unwisely in my opinion, advising the Grandma to attend the “wedding” to try to keep the relationship good enough that she might possibly influence the grandson for Jesus. That does NOT mean that he supports it (he obviously doesn’t), it means that he was trying to find a way for the Grandma to keep herself in her grandson’s life. I would NOT advise her to attend. Not at all. On that point, I disagree with Begg.
But to make the leap that Alastair Begg has come out in support of gay “marriage” is not at all accurate.

But to say from this clip that Alistair Begg "Affirms GAY MARRIAGE!" based on this clip is concerning. There seems to be some misrepresentation done in this video which saddens me greatly. I urge you to take a closer look into Alistair and make a better argument against him if indeed you find that he holds to a position of affirming gay marriage.

Hi Brother Allen, In my humble opinion this is the BEST, and most timely, video message you have done to date. Recently, a nephew who I love, got married to a homosexual man. It broke my heart and I did NOT attend or affirm the so- called wedding. However, the overwhelming majority of my family did attend but many of them are not Christians. This was also deeply upsetting for me. I no longer have any contact with lots of my family because they all know how I feel, as a Christian, about this, and now I am ‘personna non grata’. However, I have NO regrets about the way I feel, particularly on this issue, because on such important matters we all have choices to make and make a stand for real Christian beliefs and values and NOT be conformed to the culture of the world. I haven't listened to all of this pastors rebuke, his scripture reference up front appears to be on point that's why many commenters agree and say we must stand for our faith and obey the Word but if you compare scripture with Scripture you come to see the fine line, the rightly divided line that you can't be dogmatic. Your comment is the only one so far that I've read sheds light on the big division issue within the Christian circles. The few verses that I think of in your ? Of sin is sin, is the one verse that speaks of a brother or sister who Claims to be or professes to be a believer we need to ex communicate them in hopes that that will lead to repentance, in love tell them their faults if they don't repent disassociate! The key and approach we take in these complicated issues is whether a person is saved or not! Historically, Christian's have been extremely judgemental, whereas Jesus was not and he showed love to the sinner. Begg is a faithful minister who has been serving Christ for decades and has openly spoken against LGBTQ matters, so maybe don't discount someone's body of work for a single comment. Especially when that comment was not "affirming" gay marriage.

Allen says “attending is affirming” and goes into an elaborate scenario about congregations at weddings being asked to support the couple (which is not part of every wedding ceremony). He also implies that there is no way for an opposite sex marriage to be a sinful union (which is a wholly unbiblical assertion).
The question Alastair is fielding concerns how Christians should deal with non-Christians (specifically in their own family). Allen believes that attending a family member’s gay wedding will necessarily be interpreted as affirmation of sin. But that explicitly what Alastair Begg’s answer ensures is not the case (as per the first clip Allen shares).
So bottom line, this is about click bait video that, as you say, is a slander of Alastair Begg.
You have no idea of what truth is, it’s not slanderous this pastor is affirming this gay thing by instructing the grandma to go to the wedding and buy a gift, you clearly don’t understand the Bible. Thank you for doing this video, my brother! I had seen the clip of Alistair Begg before today and was just shocked by it. He is a mainstream evangelist and pastor who I've always thought to be a staunch conservative. As someone who has come out of the LGBTQ lifestyle, I can say that affirming your loved one's gay marriage or lifestyle only brings a disrepect of your faith. This community of folks are not seeking collaboration with the church for the purpose of holiness and a willingness to honor God's word. Their goal is simply to infiltrate and to corrupt the one holy union that has been established by God. This is so that their sin is validated. I remember hearing this said... "Every ideology needs a theology to make it legal". This is why it is so important to them that the church affirms them. They want validation. But, we need to pray, NOT HATE, but pray for the Holy Spirit's touch on each heart.

@mwtort Allen is not being "grace-less" towards Alistair. Instead, Allen is pointing out a great and major fault. It's such a major fault that it could hinder people from Christ. Pointing out Alistair's fault in this situation isn't a matter of discretion, it's a matter of obedience to God. No wonder so many people don't believe in God, because the so-called Godly refuse to obey Him. Therefore, evil doesn't just exist until Jesus returns, it reigns. You know that God's biggest gripe with the whole world, both unbelievers and believers is a lack of discernment, wisdom and understanding. Alistair's sin was egregious and was behavior that will quickly move saints away from Christ and hinder others who have yet made it to Christ. And like Ezekiel, God will hold their blood on Allen's hands if he keeps quiet. You go take Alistair behind closed doors and talk to him. Once a sin by such a prominent leader especially is made public, pointing to the sinfulness of it to the public is paramount.
I watch Pastor Begg. I think he misspoke. I do like the comment where he said, perhaps your love will catch them off guard. I love his sermons and I have heard him say often he stands against gay marriage. He did ask if grandson knew how his grandmother felt and believed and as long as they know you don’t agree with this union. Showing love can surely catch us all off guard at times especially to those who have fallen into sin. As Pastor Begg said recently, ignoring, dissing, abandoning, distancing ourselves from those who are living a life of sin is no answer for any Bible believing Christian. I too have this in my family and my heart is burden every single day of my life. Great video Allen as always.

I stopped going to church for a long time and waived in my faith quite a bit. I came across your channel and now have watched a few videos and I want to say thank you I’m going to keep watching I’ve asked for forgiveness and plan on attending again

To say that he "affirmed" gay marriage is not accurate and borders on engaging in an intentional and willful deception. What he said, essentially, was "Make sure your grandson understands you disagree with his decision. If you're sure that he understands this, then continue to love and support your grandson."
We can argue over whether this was the right counsel to give but he did not "affirm gay marriage."
To attend a marriage is to state you are in agreement with, and support the union. A marriage is not an event that you can attend to just observe or have a good time. It is sacred. Your actual bodily presence there affirms your support of the union.

He asks the woman directly, "Does your grandson understand that you do not agree with his decision and hold a moral objection to it?" Clearly he is making sure that DISAGREEMENT has been registered. To say that he is affirming gay marriage is simply incorrect and not factual.

I think you may not be hearing what he is actually saying. It didn't sound to me like he is "affirming gay marriage." I may not agree with Mr Begg but I don't think it's fair to mischarachterise what he intends to say. At least show his view fairly and with understanding before you tear it down.
Was there ever a discussion in the church about going to the weddings of divorced people ?
Divorced people can be forgiven just like homosexuals and Jesus would say go and sin no more, meaning don't divorce again.
I suggest everyone here go listen to Pastor Begg's sermon concerning this issue. It is from yesterday and is called Compassion vs Condemnation. Then, make a decision after hearing it.
We need more of this. Some church leaders have the tendency to condone sin. Sometimes they tend to be more scared of hurting the feelings of others not realizing that in the process they are mocking God. Thank you, bro. Allen! God bless you.

Nah I think they know. They are just comprised on this. It is called a Compromise. Without a fear of God perfected by the Love and Faith of God it is impossible to please God. An unwavering fixed gaze beholden to the absolute unchanging God of yesterday, today, and forever .. instead of a passing professing faith subjected to feelings and a relevance to the spirit of the age / what the pope says.. is the missing ingredient.
