Great video Jason. It’s so important to look things over for sure. Even when it’s brand new. You can never trust things are done right. So glad you know how all that stuff works. Sonic was pretty yummy, never looks like the commercial though lol. Jovie loved the pet store. Can’t wait to go camping again!🥰♥️😊
EMBER needs to see this video. Quality Control for every step of the process. You should have a copy of the inspection throughout the build so that when you find a problem they can see where the breakdown has occurred. Schematics of the wiring and plumbing would be helpful too.
Not trying to make excuses for Amber but this is the first year of their full run of productivity correct? It's similar to a car in my opinion whenever the maker comes out with a new model you never buy the first year because there's always Kinks how they react to those issues or Kinks is key. A company that stands behind their product and helps you in any way they can and rectifies those issues is what I want to see. Every camper that I've ever seen has had minor similar issues granted they are cheaper than the Ember. Have you reached out to ember? To your dealer?
Wow, what scares me is using what looks like hand screw caps like in a house, not the crimped connectors that can take the vibration of an RV. THAT behind your walls is a cluster duck of problems waiting to happen! Had a Winnebago like that when I was young, lights would work one day, not the next. Dad was always cussing when he found electrical wires that just vibrated apart. I love these, but THIS is scary as hell.
Just looked at my first Embers today I like the 191msl but looking at the cargo doors the gaskets, cabinets etc. I didn’t see anything different than say a Geo Pro. Yes they use duel pane windows, Truma and the layout is not typical and the MSL rear bunk/cargo is what I want in a trailer. I didn’t see anything that suggested higher skilled assembly workers. I didn’t see anything that would justify $40,000-$60,000 22ft trailer. The quality items stuck to the trailer windows, Truma, suspension, trailer tongue jack etc are higher value than the Geo Pro which was 20-22k pre Covid. These trailers in the 30ish zone starts to make sense but not 40+. No way
FYI your family was never in any danger from the failed crimp or from the the absence of a breaker. Over current protection is not needed or required between a solar panel and its controller as the panel cannot produce enough energy to overheat the wire. Nevertheless a switch or breaker is recommended to prevent arcing of connections when live panels are removed or connected. This is why the external panel connection has a breaker. Almost everyone puts a breaker or switch between the panel and the controller for the sake of maintenance but few seem to put fuses between parallel panels of 3 or more where a fire danger actually exists.
The first thing I think when I see any rv trailer is that I would change out the entire solar/electrical system for a victory multi plus. It’s almost expected
Thank you for sharing. We we’re looking into buying an Ember. We’re not handy like you are . I’m changing my mind about it. Unless I can find someone like you to make these changes like you did.
Honestly It’s still built better than any other RV on the market including Over priced Black series. STATS MATTER AND NOTHING MATCHES EMBERS CONSTRUCTION METHODS. A lot of companies use azdel, ONLY Ember uses it on interior and exterior. Only airstream uses composite floor with higher screw retention than plywood, Ember uses same thing but twice as thick. The list goes on and on. Before you decides watch “Josh the RV nerd” He details all of the quality very well. All RV’s have issues it’s just a fact!
I haven't seen a good factory install yet on solar. Sloppy and way too expensive. They know they gotcha just thru convenience. Either do it yourself or pay a shop that specializes in Solar. I am glad to hear you're good with Ember overall.
I bought as used class c and the 2 previous owners had no idea what needed regular maintenance. It has been a process but my wife and I are getting things caught up and to our standards. Good luck with the solar and battery install.
I believe in quality not quantity so I feel your disappointment. Back when I trimmed houses the main complaint I got was the time I took to complete the job. I ask the contractor do you want it done or do you want it done right? The builder never had a complaint with my work and the buyers were very satisfied. Attention to detail is the key.
I saw where you removed the outdoor fridge, and use the space for a generator. That space is not ventilated. Why do you think it is safe to store the generator there?
For $40,000 +\- you’d expect damn near perfection Jason. Good thing you’re a capable handyman👊🏼. I can see a pet fish for Jovie in the near future. Lol
Was really into Ember but seeing things like this really make me wonder. We wanted the 170mrb but the price is way too high especially if the quality control is not there.
Like I said I would still buy it again because at the end of the day it’s still constructed better than ANY OTHER I HAVE SEEN SO FAR PERIOD, including black series. All of the stats on how it’s constructed compared to any other RV on the market prove there is nothing made better. All brands have issues at some point, Period
Your little girl I do adorable!!! . I'm looking into getting one of these trailers I like the idea that it has no slide outside plus it looks like a strong RV. What would you recommend I do if I get one of these ?
Oh you got it twisted LOL we don’t have buyers remorse AT ALL! We haven’t had one other problem in 6 months and have took this camper down roads MOST RV’s could never handle. In case you didn’t know ALL RV’s have problems, specially when new and there are thousands of videos of all males and models to prove it. The Ember RVs will be around when all of the others delaminate and rot away LOL that’s a fact
So enjoyed Jovie’s first fish experience! Question: Do you have a plan for a harness as she gets older? I rigged up a homemade one when I had a 3 and 1 year old at the Topeka zoo. It worked great, he got to explore and I got the relief to know he was safe. Sorry about your disappointment in the Ember but so glad, you had a work around! Hugs from Leavenworth KS!
They didn't give you a book because it's all digital now. The dealership should have given you info on how to download it. It sounds like the dealership was not good during the sale. It also looks like Ember is skimping on quality already. Flagstaff and Rockwood actually set this up the correct way and at least made it look professional. Go power is junk and ember knows it.
Im older and have had many RVs...NOT ONE used or new didnt have its issues! Rule of thumb - learn to be handy if you want to own an rv unless you have lots of time and money to give rv repair facilities! ...Sorta like BOATS! I can say that RVs helped me be WAY better at electrical stuff than any other thing Ive owned! including houses!
I had a wooden sailboat once :( We have a class c now but I've been thinking a 190mrb next but replacing the side couch wit a Bistro set. Another video I watched showed someone had gone crazy with a hole and jigsaw instead of having a template as to where the hole should be :( Another Ember owner found daylight coming in under the Murfy bed. I like their plan but the help isn't onboard with QA
As many will say, you get what you pay for. As far as screws and such being left, that is common even in the high-end RVs. We never rely on factory installs for solar and such. We have found that it is cheaper and better to have professionals do it, not some person on an "Assembly line" who just wants it done.
This was a very expensive RV for its size so I guess I was a fool and expected better from them LOL and the solar system it came with is just standard on all or I would have rather not had any of it installed from the factory for sure
Interesting. Don't like the clickbait title though. Danger to the family would involve leaks and mold. If there was fire danger, you didn't clearly spell it out.
If ember is like other manufacturers, THEIR job is making them as fast as they can, it’s the dealerships job to fix issues under warranty. I would hope that ember watches this and views it as a learning experience. I’ve seen a few Keystone RV’s that went out the door with unbelievable flaws.
I don't know I mean that's the reason for a warranty is just in case anything's wrong it's free to fix. I think he's being a little picky here finding four screws in a hose clamp I'd be excited I got four new screws in a hose clamp for if I need them for something. I see videos where brand new campers leak and other issues like that those are f****** problems. But he obviously didn't call Amber for the dealership he just fixed it himself
Unfortunately there are too many companies in this world and RV builders like these guys that their ultimate goal is to make maximum profit with the cheapest and I mean cheapest build possible fortunately they weren’t smart enough to realize the real world that we live in and the reality of consumers taking a few things apart to find out that it’s literally grown together if they’ll pull that kind of crap with the solar system you can imagine all the corners they cut so they could make $57 more! This will definitely preclude me from touching any Amber products. we only get one chance in this world to prove who we are, you can fool me once… there are plenty of other RV makers who understand that if we build the best product we don’t have to worry about our profits I would not trust an ember for longevity…
Dude if you think Ember is built cheap then you obviously don’t know sh!t about Ember or any other cheap stick built RV on the market LOL As far as the construction goes there is NONE on the market that compares PERIOD! Name an RV that uses Azdel on both sides of there walls and ceiling’s instead of wood! You can’t cause there is none! Name another RV that uses composite floor with higher screw retention then plywood, of there is one, airstream, but Embers floor is twice as thick! Name another RV that uses full box steel frame! You can’t , of there are a couple of them that use aluminum frame to try and make it light, probably is aluminum frame allows it to flex and the sh!t above the frame flex’s and breaks. The list goes on so don’t fuckin act like you know better when you clearly Do NOT LOL
Good QC is rare. I wonder if the manufacturer can trace the unit to the foreman, line supervisor, or whomever signed off on the build. P.S. Live that Jovie!
What do you do for work? You think someone should lose their job over this? Now if you make a million trailers and one has a problem we're going to fire that person that's absurd. Let's pump the brakes here. We buy cars in almost expect them to have some sort of glitch when they're brand new and it's okay.
What a happy baby. She loves the camera it seems to me. I also believe Jovie should have a fish. Just 1 beta fish in a bowl. 😁 That's it. I have a flat globe that hangs on a wall for mine. I love it. 😜 Good luck with the solar.
With the factory set up, the converter under the 12V fridge, does it convert shore power to DC to charge the batteries automatically? Are does the inverter need to be turned on during shore power to recharge batteries? Great info. Thanks. I have a 2022 190MDB max solar (3 panels,2ea BB lithium batteries). Mine does great running DC items with inverter off. I turn on inverter and run no AC, my batteries will still drain over night to dead. I got problems somewhere. Dealer over in Missouri 1&1/2 hr drive. Like to figure out myself. My temp on go power usually runs at 111F inverter turned on. Turn inverter off and usual ambient temperature. Love a lot about Ember, but they stretched the capabilities of the max solar.
The converter should have a charger but I’m not sure, if you have max solar package I would think your after market inverter would have built in charger. With 2 lithium’s we also went dead overnight with inverter off. We now have complete Victron system and 3 batteries, we’ll see how that does soon👍
Dang! Wasn't expecting the shoddy workmanship. No excuse for that. Quality control took a hike on this one. Good thing you know what you're doing. I would wager most rv's are turned out too damn fast and have potential disasters that you can't see on visual inspection. Plenty of quality control going into raising Jovie. She looks really healthy, happy and growing like a weed. 🙋 Good job Candace!
Love the video you gotta get a goldfish you can take them in the camper all I know is you’re in trouble with two Beautiful girls I love the reality of your channel yeah keep up the good work we have a winnebago Minnie and I’m getting ready to put solar on it might have some questions to shoot you take care and God bless one thing about a little girl you’re never dressed square trust me I know her and her mom will keep you dressing up to date ✝️
Have to say,I would trade you problems, we just bought a 22 valor toy hauler, quality control is lacking in the whole industry...so sad paid well over 100k for this thrown together box......your not alone harley rvbroke
You are right, quality control sucks, and manufacturers are putting them out so fast they are sloppy. My daughter and son-in-law bought a 32 camper and it had several issues like yours.
Good video 😀 but you traded your nice class c rig for a trailer that was not built wrong don't know what that trailer cost but you paid to much it was a price point for you just my opinion I would never buy that rig it's hard to believe you're happy with it don't know what the situation was but enjoy your new rig 😃
I'm glad we stuck with a Grand Design (not that they are perfect..I believe every make has issues some are just worse than others..seemed to me the Grand Design and Winnebago had the best records - and since nothing Winnebago makes is strong in the storage department we went with GD - had a minor issue with the drawers bottom falling through the 1st time any weight was put in it - no worries 1 tube of super glue and all is fixed - otherwise we have had zero issues Praising God for that!).
THANK GOD YOU TRACKED THIS FIRE HAZARDED DOWN. Just the thought of You & the family sleeping & this piece of crap when it failed WHICH IT WOULD SOMETIME. OH MY GOODNESS. Jason you just prevented a horrible nightmare from happening. I am so upset with some auto mobile issues right now. NO ONE TAKES PRIDE IN THEIR JOBS. To much crap is made not in AMERICA.. I never thought in my 61 years on this planet things would get so bad. Anyway LOVE YOUR CHANNEL.. Love seeing Jovie growing ..FYI I am eating Sonic right now lol… GOD BLESS FROM WEST CENTRAL INDIANA FARMLAND ✝️🇺🇸😊🚜
They have the best builders that minimum wage can buy. They put the olar system together on Friday afternoon as well. You are better off replacing with your tried and true equipment.
Go right ahead and waste your money on a Chinese built trailer LOL It’s not built as well and with the same materials, it literally takes a few minutes of research to know which one is built better. I’ll pick Ember every time. You can have the trailer built in a Chinese factory and shipped here to assemble LOL not hurting my feelings LOL👍
Ember is as bad as the rest of them. John Marucci got one of these the next day in the shop. I thought these would be better considering the prices but they’re crap to.
At $50,000 it should be pristine and perfect. Australian campers are way way better and this is supposed to be the American version of that. So far they are trying but not quite there.
Great video Jason. It’s so important to look things over for sure. Even when it’s brand new. You can never trust things are done right. So glad you know how all that stuff works. Sonic was pretty yummy, never looks like the commercial though lol. Jovie loved the pet store. Can’t wait to go camping again!🥰♥️😊
oii what about u Candace??? u were in there too

That’s an unfortunate find, but great job troubleshooting!! There are lessons to be learned here for certain.

Those solar connections are unacceptable!!! Just be glad you're not having the black floor issue!!! Also, the leaks some are having. UGH!
Did y’all ever have the floor color change issue, where it became splotchy?
I believe in quality not quantity so I feel your disappointment. Back when I trimmed houses the main complaint I got was the time I took to complete the job. I ask the contractor do you want it done or do you want it done right? The builder never had a complaint with my work and the buyers were very satisfied. Attention to detail is the key.
So u found 4 loose screws and a hose clamp? The charge controller should have been fixed by dealer did u give them the chance to fix it?
I saw where you removed the outdoor fridge, and use the space for a generator. That space is not ventilated. Why do you think it is safe to store the generator there?
Because it is! What the F@ck is it hurting being stored in there, there is fumes when the gas is off it’s sealed. All you smart people LOL
Most definitely a daddy's girl, you can tell by the look in her eyes A VERY BEAUTIFUL FAMILY..
I am looking for an RV....this model is one.....and I do like the new company.
For $40,000 +\- you’d expect damn near perfection Jason. Good thing you’re a capable handyman👊🏼. I can see a pet fish for Jovie in the near future. Lol
Its sad.
You should reach out to your dealer &/or Ember directly.
Ember staff should look at 3:47 , 4:33, and 9:31 at a minimum. We just bought the same unit, and are having similar solar issues.
Can the front storage box hold a Honda EU2200i Generator along with the batteries?
I would definitely call the company and tell them all things you found wrong. They need to know. I would take pictures or send them this video
Was really into Ember but seeing things like this really make me wonder. We wanted the 170mrb but the price is way too high especially if the quality control is not there.

That is flat astounding, especially for what Embers cost.
its people like you that should start a new rv buz and make good quality units. great video, my hubby and i love your channel.
That little girl is so cute.❤️🤗🙏🏻
By the way, have you contacted ember and given them an opportunity to at least try to resolve the issues?

What? Someone else found out ember is garbage? Wow I thought I was the only one....
Thanks for the video! How much generator do you need to run that AC?
Good to see you all again! Jovie loves those goldfish. Sure is nice that you can do that solar setup yourself. That is a nice camper 😊🥰
I bought an EPRO trailer, found the same thing. Removed the installed system.
Good QC is rare. I wonder if the manufacturer can trace the unit to the foreman, line supervisor, or whomever signed off on the build.
P.S. Live that Jovie!
I’m wondering if they sent them all out with incorrect solar installations
What do you do for work? You think someone should lose their job over this? Now if you make a million trailers and one has a problem we're going to fire that person that's absurd. Way to go Jason do it right the first time and improve on it with your up graded and finding the problem from the factory.
Pop…where are you from in MO? In STL, where I live, it is Soda. 😋 love watching your videos. Jovie is just a little doll!
Kansas City calls it pop LOL
No RV is perfect. It is well known that QC has been a problem especially in light of keeping up with supply and demand during covid
Victron and battleborn is sooooo good.

I appreciate the owner review. legit issues.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve also been hard at work fixing and upgrading my ember 171fb. Hope you didn’t pay too much!
I was interested in Ember ..... WAS
I'm buying an Outdoors RV this week...... see ya out and about....
I just did a UA-cam on my Ember. there are great things, but there is some great disappointments.
The best RV is made in Oregon by Outdoor RV, CHECK THEM OUT, they are awesome
Umm no thanks lol
Awe what a cutie
Love your videos and Jovie is beautiful!
I was interestred in this trailer until this review... stills seems like a decent trailer that could be great with better quality control
Almost everyone we know lives in an RV and the are all the same
Love the video you gotta get a goldfish you can take them in the camper all I know is you’re in trouble with two Beautiful girls I love the reality of your channel yeah keep up the good work we have a winnebago Minnie and I’m getting ready to put solar on it might have some questions to shoot you take care and God bless one thing about a little girl you’re never dressed square trust me I know her and her mom will keep you dressing up to date ✝️
Way to troubleshoot!
You also have to have people that care about the work they are doing...sad times.
Have to say,I would trade you problems, we just bought a 22 valor toy hauler, quality control is lacking in the whole industry...so sad paid well over 100k for this thrown together box......your not alone harley rvbroke

Yes and everything is factory installed

Jason you just prevented a horrible nightmare from happening. I am so upset with some auto mobile issues right now. NO ONE TAKES PRIDE IN THEIR JOBS. To much crap is made not in AMERICA.. I never thought in my 61 years on this planet things would get so bad. Anyway LOVE YOUR CHANNEL.. Love seeing Jovie growing ..FYI I am eating Sonic right now lol… GOD BLESS FROM WEST CENTRAL INDIANA FARMLAND ✝️🇺🇸😊🚜
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I wudda been screaming at them over the phone after all that money ya spent.
They have the best builders that minimum wage can buy. They put the olar system together on Friday afternoon as well. You are better off replacing with your tried and true equipment.
You get what u pay for in the rv industry
LOL yeah right, you obviously don’t know anything about RV’s cause they are all the same.
Think when I’m ready to buy I’ll be spending more money and go with the Black Series hq19.
I’ve seen the Black Series. It’s a true off road. They are not garbage.
Why not just give up and sell the camper! You can stay at the a Holiday Inn Express with everyone else!
The trailer is done and we LOVE it and we don’t give up that’s why our lives are F@cking amazing. 😝
TIFYT
Ember is as bad as the rest of them. John Marucci got one of these the next day in the shop. I thought these would be better considering the prices but they’re crap to.
I wouldn’t buy it
C4YT
I rather buy ROA instead
😂
They're all the same.
Get em built, get em out, get em sold!
With over 40 years of quality control engineering experience, unacceptable Ember.
That wire is also too small of a gauge
Camper not a RV
UM pretty sure it’s a recreational Vehicle just like ALL OF THEM! Even says F@ckin RV on the clean and clear title! Anything else?
At $50,000 it should be pristine and perfect. Australian campers are way way better and this is supposed to be the American version of that. So far they are trying but not quite there.
