I would argue that her human disguise is for herself and that when she consumed the memories of Bel'veths people she also absorbed they're standards of beauty and gained a sense for likes and dislikes. So therefore, giving that she sees herself as an empress, she would also want to look ostentatious, presentable and well, look like a noble. And considering that her tastes are based off of those of humans (and nonhumans), it would make sense that her ideas of such things are going to be based on of those of humans as well.
Well yes but actually no. Why should she care about wanting to "look ostentatious, presentable and well and noble like" she can literally brain wash you into thinking she looks that way. Why would a void born who just wants to consume all creation for itself want to look like a noble? You think the aspects are gonna care about that or even aurelion when rito desides it's time for the void event? Hell no they won't because it makes no sense for her character
@@brandnewontheinternet9024 The OP's point is that she wants because she wants, end of story. There is no "why" to the caring. It's like craving a candybar or wearing make-up. You do so just because you have that urge to do it, which is a human feeling. And she wants to remake the world in her own image, not completely eradicate it. Her image just happens to take some tips from humans. Humans are not always rational, we rationalize, which is an entirely different thing. Will this be explored in Bel'Veth's character down the line where the more humanity she consumes, the pride she intakes messes with her plans? I hope so, but only time will tell.

Why did Renata give other people the option to work with her while she already had the ability to control them already? I think Bel‘veth has the Singed problem, in the sense that her gameplay is disconnected from her lore.

Yeah but Malzahar and Vel'koz already are mages from the Void, also Kai'sa, Kog'Maw and Cho'gath can also go ap and act like medium/long range spell casters. And the other 3 Void champions are assassins. Riot tried to make an auto attacker Void born to make her unique. And I don't that another Void born that wants to rip you apart as their lore would be interesting.

If they wanted her to be a melee autoattacker, they could have done basically Bard but a fighter instead. The more lavender stacks she acquires, the more void remoras she spawns behind her, and they attack for her when she autos....obviously there would be a huge technical overhead but that would be so much cooler and more fitting

Bel'veth telling kai'sa there's no weapon to slay her when jax is literally just walking around runeterra with his fucking anti void lamp that could likely turn any voidborn into a purple mush is really funny to me.
My interpretation of her human form is that it's not to trick others but to trick herself. She has all these grand thoughts of destroying the old void and the watchers, and is the first voidborn to truly be sentient so it makes sense for her to put on that facade of humanity. She tries to combine elements of both humanity and void but both are incongruous and cannot ever be in harmony
This is such a good interpretation. I don't know how supported it is in the text, but this will be my perception of her character
I also think that anouther reason Bel’Veth has this „human” form is to trick weak minded in other ways.
In fantasy It’s often the joke that idiots are hard to hypnotise, so Bel’Veth would want to manipulate them, by pretending to be somebody they can trust.
Also some time ago i found a comment from somebody which said that Bel’Veth doesn’t lie to ONLY those who are worthy, like Kai’sa, Malzahar and even Vel’Koz, because they are smart enouth to understand how powerfull and dangerous Warchers are.

I am just happy that she ended up being mostly a monster when Riot tried to make a sexy champion. If she ended up a sexy champ it'd feel like an Evelyn clone with none of the succubus ties, or heck even a Zyra situation (Zyra's lore is wack there is no reason for her to be sexy other than Riot wanting a Poison Ivy type character.)
Edit: Yes I know Zyra is meant to be a cookiecutter embodiment of the archetype, and also I agree that Evelyn is meant to be sexy. She's a succubus type character, and is one of my favorite designs character wise.
I am just comparing things to what Bel'veth could have been, and don't mean to be all that negative.
It was over 12 year ago and to quote this absolute Chad named tbsskyen : old champions are made to embody an archetype rather than challenging it. And for Evelyn it is 100% justified.

I think people are missing the point of Bel and her design. She has the human form not to deceive people, but because she has consumed an entire city of humans. She has turned more human since devouring the city. When she says she doesn’t need to lie, she means it, that’s why her form isn’t for deception, it’s simply part of her. And for her gameplay I think it fits well, her whole thing is that she wants to consume everything herself, she wants to take charge. That’s why she’s the one fighting and the minion/mage elements come second. If anything his makes her more monstrous, she’s doesn’t look human to deceive, she looks human because she’s already devoured thousands of humans. She fights by herself because she doesn’t need her voidlings to help her, she’s strong enough on her own. I mean even in her cinematic with kaisa, she doesn’t have her voidlings swarm kaisa, she just smacks the shit out of her because she knows she’s stronger. And honestly if she didn’t look at least partly human it would be weird considering the whole concept of the void consuming and evolving based on what they consume. Like if she consumed a whole city and still looked like just a creepy manta ray it would defeat the whole purpose of the evolution aspect of the void

I personally think it like she is feeling like a human, his dialogs lure to that, she wants memories, feelings, and sometimes what you say is not what you say, is how you say it, she even gave the more human head a diferent voice denoted in the short story, in her humanoid form she has a more "personal" voice. In her true form, she has the voices of everything she has ever devored (belive me i wish that also afected more gameplay voicelines wise more) . Bel Veth is trying to fuse togheter, she is expresed has unbelivably smart by being the representative of this New void view, but also has the understanding of a child about how everything in reality is.

I don’t think bel’veth sees the “human” form as a lie or a deception. It’s simply her expressing the human parts of her being, as an adaptive and consuming monster. There is no “real” form to bel’veth, she is both monster and humanoid. Remember, Bel’veth voluntarily shows Kai’sa both forms, it’s not that like damaging Bel’veth uncovers some horrible secret. While, yes, there is obvious inspiration from the Anglerfish metaphor of luring in people, I think Bel’veth’s character arc and story as a creature interested in and perhaps even sympathetic to life itself, expresses a desire to move beyond the monstrous elements of her design.
Yeah her Bio mentions how her human form is basically there so she can communicate easier as her monster form likely would not allow that.
The quality of being able to communicate means that she has some understanding of what others are thinking, therefore having some sort of empathy. I find it kind of odd that a sentient being that can talk in an intellectual way just wants to consume the whole world.

And the thing about everyone not really wishing to turn into remoras or grow tentacles? Yeah, they're just don't understand her grand vision, they'll accept it eventually.
To me honestly is not that appealing to make a monster character overly human, but Riot said it is not the promised monster character, so voidussy is okay

In terms of design & position in the lore, yeah I think so. She's personification of the victims of the void, who want nothing but the end of the world or universe (I'm not a big lore guy so I'm probably wrong). Her cinematic is great & shows how cool Bel'Veth could be with fake head & all.
But in terms of gameplay, I think it's not bad but not great either. In terms of void champions, they have a clear theme which is total annihilation (Vel'koz and Malazhar with their magic) or feasting (Kog'maw & Cho'gath respectfully) which Bel'Veth doesn't portray either well. Her design says she lures in champion & eats them with her big mouth & all, plus she has a growth mechanic in her ultimate like Cho'Gath. But it's not and she doesn't use the voids destructive magic like Vel'koz or Malazhar, rather she slaps people around like Kha'zix or Rek'sai who even then, feel more void like with Kha'zix invisiblity magic and Rek'sai destructive power with her tunneling. But this is my opinion and I still like Bel'Veth, but she isn't the monster champion that we've been waiting for. I'm gonna stick with Riot and hope the next monster champion is better than Bel'veth, well in gameplay anyway.
I think it's the biggest criticism people did to Bel'veth since her kit was leaked. The first impression we got of her was a rioter getting mind controlled, which looked awesome! People were expecting something similar to Malzahar with damage over time as if she was corrupting your mind little by little... But then her actual gameplay is basically "YATATATATATATATATATATATATATA!!!!"
That won't stop me from trying her, but I just wish that maybe her lore was a bit different to fit her playstyle more.
Shes also not just missing thematically, but shes also so weak strength wise. Its cool they gave her these "infinite scaling" stats, but Ive played 8 games with her and not one bel was positive kda or any substantial dmg.

Bel'Veth's icon change hurts.
It really feels like some Riot employees were trying to sneak it into the game because they knew it wouldn't be allowed (even though it was correct), but a manager noticed and told them it wouldn't help to sell the character. Or something like that.
Now the average player will know nothing about her, because those people don't read the lore. They just buy the newest champion available, play it on ranked and stick to it if it's op. Then there are some artists who may want to draw pretty characters and will only really see Bel'Veth's copypasted Morgana face when they look at her splash art, also meme creators who will only really look at her thighs.
The public will miss the point of her character because Riot got too greedy. Many will not actually get that her whole human head is like a tumor. She's meant to be like the SpongeBob Movie's Frogfish, not Evelynn 2.
If it keeps going like this, Riot might actually retcon her monster face being her real face at some point.
Why do you care what the overall public thinks? As long as you get it there’s nothing wrong with the icon change. Just let the people who don’t care about the lore buy what they want

I think her character, in my opinion, makes complete sense. If she absorbs human sentience, she also absorbs human complexity. Her animal and void instincts overlapping with her human habits that she's developed, it's clear that she thinks herself as an exception to everything, which is why she goes for a humanoid regal look. I do think some points of this video come from a problem over overthinking and overcomplication more than anything, but there is clear nuance in directions that match her theme. If she absorbs all the positives of the creatures she devours whose to say she doesn't absorb the negatives as well?
Bel'veth is pretty much when passionate artists and animators have to conform to the "sex sells" policy.

I get the feeling Bel’Veth enjoys conversing and the facade is less meant to be a lie and more meant to be like, an evening gown? Dressing up? She consumed all those humans and got some small bit of a fashion sense, wanting to try a human ‘look’? This is all just flimsy flavor speculation though.

I believe that was riot being lazy, they built Bel'Veth's model based on a female champion from the beginning, and when her design concept changed they just didn't bother to update it

To be fair, having the headcannon that she can and is willing to lie makes her cooler in my opinion. It makes it so her weird disguise thingy is a) functional and b) funny how it's so bad, but also shows that bel'veth still has a lot of nomming to do to become truly perfect. A lying void champ is also something we haven't seen, the cocky prophetic nonsense of Malzahar and his "I don't need to lie" attitude is already used, and vel'koz simply states facts and observations. We don't have a truly lying and manipulative void champ, and it ties in nicely with her unique personality.
Yeah it makes sense, though imo the lore doesn't paint her as a liar per se, but as a creature with an inflated sense of self and consequently naive about her status. I think she is used to be so powerful in her sphere of influence that, to her knowledge, nothing can beat her, while there are a couple of powers in Runeterra that could literally swat her dead (celestials, A.Sol) and others that can match her (perfect ascended like Azir and Nasus maybe). It could still be possible that she has more expansive knowledge of the world and is trying to be manipulative, but I'm going off what the devs said in the insights blog, that Bel'veth literally doesn;t feel the need to lie.

Those lines of thought are always interesting because both make sense in itself but not from the other PoV. If she lies, the "I don't lie" is a lie. If she tells the truth, "I don't lie" is the truth. And for us there is no way to know, without one other person in this riddle ;)

I love the little details hinting that she's sort of the final culmination of the void with some of her sounds just being edited sounds of other void born in game the most obvious is her ult scream is pitched up rek sai clicking really sells the idea that she sees herself above all else
Nah thats just riot being lazy with the sounds. But our last sentence is true - she isnt the "final culmination" of the Void, she only sees herself as such. Her entire deal is that she became truly sentient and free, and thus started thinking of herself as higher than she actually is. A single free Watcher would swat her like a fly.
All of this stuff reminds me of how Star Trek jumped the shark when it came to one of the most unsettling, mysterious and awe-striking villains in television; the Borg. In a similar way too, putting out a human-like Queen figure to dumb down and confuse the enigmatic and incomprehensible nature of beings that could transcend time and space on a whim and outclasses all other sentiment beings of the universe.
That's part of the point though: they CAN'T transcend spacetime, at least not when they come to Runeterra. The reason why the Watchers had so much trouble sending Voidforms to the world of existence was because they didn't understand what these rules of 'gravity' and 'spacetime' were so they had to copy forms that already existed here, like we had to make submarines so we could go deep into the sea.
As far as I'm aware, the only people in Runeterra who *can* transcend spacetime to some degree are Zilean and those who work with him, most notably Khahiri (who features in Legends of Runeterra). Zilean uses time magic to hold the advance of the Icathian Void Rift at bay: he (presumably with the help of his assistants) has erected massive Starcraft pylons all around Icathia that presumably stop or slow down time within their field.
There's also Ekko, but it's heavily implied that he doesn't really understand time magic - he's fooling around with the spacetime warping properties of hextech crystals and somehow not dying, possibly because of timeloop shenanigans. This isn't like Prince of Persia: although Ekko's position rewinds his body's state does NOT (regardless of how it works in-game); as you may have seen in the cinematic, any fatigue or injuries he sustains stay with him and he has to manually pull the trigger to get the Z-Drive to activate. So, if he dies, he stays dead.
I like her. As someone who hasn't played more than a startup as Darius and cares more for lore, I think bel'veth's a nice addition to the void as a rival.
Bel'Veth's and Rek'Sai's territory being close to eachother, i think one day they will face eachother and i can't see Rek'Sai giving up to Bel'Veth considering how territorial and strong she is

Empress to us humans would be someone regal, not fighting their own battles and instead using their subjects for everything else
Empress to voidborns like Kha'zix, Kog'maw?
Some scarily powerful voidborn that can rip you to shreds in the blink of an eye (Attack speed character)
So if we go by this logic she somewhat combines both concepts. She IS the Empress by voidborn standards. And she PLAYS the role of a human Empress. So she is an Empress by both standards
(Of course that would work if not for the psychic shit. Unless she can't do that? For reason#4728 ?)
Another thing to think about is her design is meant to show power and unstoppable force. If we think about her slap design it doesn't seem like that at first... but remembering her true form is like Galio sized? Imagine something that big attacking that fast. Fucking Godzilla using fist of the north star lmao
I think you can also spin the human disguise as a sort of unconscious irony in her character. Like, she sees herself as truthful and having no need for deception, but at the same time the lies she tells herself manifest in her forms and mannerisms. Her own self image is a lie, she is not what she says/thinks she is. Idk, I like it.
I got two headcanons (hehh... "head" canon) for why she still has the head
A: She can indeed mind control but only to a certain extend (perhaps only weak willed people or people that invite her in)
B: she doesn't use it to deceive but she uses it so that when she does bargain it doesn't look like you are bargaining with a world devouring creature and instead something that seems to be more "human". Giving you a sense that there is "humanity" in that thing when clearly there is nothing of that in her.

Small thing id like to point out: not all and every character in lol can be so easily mind controlled by bel veth, as thier are a multitude of characters that are likely powerfull enough to resist it to some extent or resist it altogether, for example, ascended such as Azir, Xerath, and Nasus likely know exactly how to protect themselves from mind control like that as the shurmian army was dealing with such a thing throughout the entire void vs shurmian war. Not to mention other characters so as ryze, mord, other ascended and targonian beings might be all together immune to being controlled. so a more human form MIGHT be still of some use to her. However little it might be for some characters.
As far as I understood the lore of the void born, they change their appearance not by choice. While they are consuming matter their form is reacting to that matter. It is mentioned here too right? Vel Koz is not changing much because it consumes informations and knowledge and kha zix changes into this insect animal form because it consumes those things. So when Bel Veth consumed a whole city and parts of the ocean she would turn into a mix of human and ocean creatures. She is not luring anything or trying to manipulate with her appearance. She transformed against her own will and by consuming more humans she would turn into something even more human.
So in all those videos I saw, everyone complains that her human form does not make sense and she wouldn't need it. But we all assume that voidborns actually have a choice in their transformation..

I think what she needs lorewise is patience. A creature as smart as she is would learn all what it has to do about the art of war. How to conquest every kingdom she finds, to kill the potential threats that would kill her, to learn how to convince everyone and her kin to join her on her cause and stuff like that. So all what we need is Bel'veth learning about strategy and build enought charisma to get an army. Yes, she could just go to Noxus and mindcontroll them, but in the case they turn against her if the mind controll breacks is a risk to big to bet in it. There are some ideas.
Isn’t her human form meant to be for communication with humans? I thought she made her human form as a way to commune with humans and not totally scare them away with the monstrous look.

If we get another darkin sometime soon I think it’d be cool if the weapon the were sealed in was a chariot, and the bodies it turns into flesh puppets are horses instead of people. That’d be a pretty cool design in my opinion, just having a demonic chariot being pulled by monster horses and no fucking rider

I like bel'veth, I think she's a good execution on her concept. Like you said though, the amount of world ending antagonist's in league (who've still not seen any story resolution looking at you darkins) is kinda crazy.

My headcannon is that she really isn't lying, if she mind controls you to make you think she's sexy then she's lying, but if she has a form the IS "sexy" (to some I would assume) then she's not technically lying, and with malzahar its his lore that he decided there was too much suffering after the void did something to his mind, I think Bel'Veth showed him all the suffering in all of the Valoran, even beyond stuff like every soul trapped in the black mist or Mordekaiser's realm as brick and mortar, even down to smaller things like a man getting strangled by Zyra, and big things like Aurelion's pain losing a star, And that Malz's E, Malific VISIONS, he just forces them to think of all the suffering in the world, so Bel'Veth comes in promising that the Lavender Sea wont have all this suffering and boom, void prophet.

It feels like the main bel veth is actually her monster form usually since despite the visual part of it for clarity which I don’t get everything else is fine since a lot of her animations and attacks are monstrous and in game she doesn’t look human what so ever. To be honest bel’veth is actually a pretty good visual design and like how other comments mention that due to her becoming more human due to what she consumes it’s likely that she either ended up evolving the head or she believes in more human beauty standards making her want to look pretty.
7:36 There's an answer here that you're not seeing: she's just lying. Verbally, anyway. It's a common tactic: admit to a lesser lie (her monstrous appearance) to lend credibility to a greater lie (that Kai'sa can trust her).
I love everything about Bel, except her actual gameplay. A skirmisher that specializes in infinite scaling true damage that was introduced immediately after Riot buffed survivability across the board. It makes the durability update seem like little more than a marketing ploy, like Riot was trying to introduce a "problem" just so they could sell a solution...
I think she's not really using her human features as a disguise, its just a formality to interact with runeterra. Like dracula from castlevania, her enemies have to prove they deserve to see her true form, the second phase of the final boss she sees herself as (a form she's clearly proud of). I mean, she does this with kaisa, appearing first as an empress to talk and only becoming a monster after Kaisa attacks her and asks what is she. When we think about how the voidborn take on traits from their prey not just as a mean of consuming better, but as a side effect they can't really control too well, (see the watchers learning to hate and like being worshiped) i can really see the "lure" being more of a thing she does because a good part of her sense of aesthetics, ambition and beauty come from human notions, all be it a corrupt and incomplete one (see her plans for the lavender sea, a twisted copy of shurima coming even with a fake sun disc)
If only riot had not made billions of sexy babe champions, i think we would be able to take Bel without one hundred grains of salt
I like to think that the human part of Bel'Veth is almost like a holdover, since voidborn get stronger as they consume, she may not have always had the level (or maybe *range*) she has now.
So she once had use and need for a human lure, but not anymore and it's just kinda still there?

I think her deceiving human form maybe can't be controlled and she became kinda human after consuming so many but she just didn't maybe get the full transformation because of the other water creatures she consumed and also the fact that she is still voidborne

Her opening up reminds me of Pennywise from IT. But I think she is supposed to be the transforming vampire champ with minions, an settled with the void as her place of origin. I think Riot could allow her to summon 1/2/3 melee and ranged minion for each void crystal consumed on use, 3/4/6 from herald or baron.
im happy that at least they were able to somehow make her more monster-like yet still think that design wise theres still a lot to be desired about and that the whole human facade is a hate and love relation ship, i love the idea, yet hate the execution and how the lore doesnt add up what I belive whould have been better, that she uses hert head to blend in if she sees good prey than she mind controls them to go into the water with him/her to devour them. I belive that would've been a great idea!

They probably wanted to make her a siren/mermaid. But made her more into a monster sea creature.
They easily could've delivered the idea of the human mimic, conceptionally only because she devoured humans therefore she has some of their traits. Like human faces stitched together, or sets or arms and legs coming out from the sides, and hundreds of other variations, but it wouldn't be as marketable, which is the priority.
I think she does what she wants to do flawlessly being a half monster and half human, but all though I wish they did go with a more monstrous design I do still like her design, and although I do think she could be closer to her lore. Another thing I do like, but something I wish to bring up is her gameplay because although I think she is very fun to play just like you said I feel like she should have been more like a caster instead of acting like the enemy is Chris Rock and she is Will Smith. One finale point is that I was very iffy on her design when she was announced again, I do really like her design know knowing that we were not getting another Lillia like "monster champion" but to wrap up this school essay I would give Bel'veth an 8/10
A change that would make her have a little bit more sence was if instead of destroy the world character number....6? 7? Anyway instead of that she could be change the world character, make her goal be to creat a full on void nation in runeterra with the fusion of void life and human. But instead of just devouring she would offer them what they want, that would make her humanoid face a tool since it's a little bit easier to convince prople that the weird lady is not a monster instead of the manta thing. People would come thinking they were dealing with a demon that could be tslked to and come out a slave of the void empress. Btw I hope the next void champion is a void shark man thing with tentacles and a big ass sword with a eye.
I know I come after many patches, but what I like with her design is the fish/sea/abyssal look she has, with vel'koz it shows that they've really got so intelligent they separated from the "old classic" voidbornes (tyranids lookalike like you said). And honestly, as much as I love cho'gath/rek'sai/kog'maw/etc design, I really would like to see if they keep creating "abyssal" voidborne and maybe more animalistic forms, like an evil-carcinisation that comes from crab-like to more "evolved" things I the future. And for the sexy woman bits, Rek'Sai's still bae.

Before Kai'Sa was revealed, I had hopes that Kassadin's daughter would turn out to be a Void leader - that is, a human consumed by the Void, which assimilated her consciousness to become sapient and take control of the mindless swarm, not really the original person but retaining some of her memories. I imagined her to be a swarm of voidbugs that could split apart, attach to other champions to become a living, armor suit that lashes out at nearby enemies with tentacles, and would adopt a humanoid form when running around on her own.
I still think this would have been better than Kai'Sa, Bel'Veth, and Yuumi.

I would think that the human form is not a lure but the vision of what she see herself : an empress.
I liked some of the initial leaked concepts from all the way back in 2015.
A manta ray summoner that essentially gets to summon and control minions while floating over the battlefield like a super ominous threat, the ideas where she basically sets up her own "camps" in the jungle that spawn minions or resources for her instead of a normal jungling path (idea stolen and given to ivern in a different form) this idea also had ideas on how her entire economy would function, she would easily earn twice the gold of the other players but had to spend gold as a resource to summon new units, ideas where she is un targetable for a majority of the game while having reasons to "descend" into the fight herself for a high risk high reward gameplay (idea stolen and given to yuumi in a different form).
Honestly the most disappointing part of her isn't even that those mechanics sound much more interesting in their original form, it's the fact that the "badass empress" isn't a cool and collected too powerful to strain herself while fighting you kind of champion, she's just a jojo reference.
I still can't see her as a world ending threat because of how Sol will slap her so quick the moment she started walking towards targon
Nicky, you literally said it yourself multiple times here, she ADAPTED to the world by consuming both sea life and humans. She's one part manta ray and one part human, not because she wants to lure in prey but because she as a voidborn literally cannot control how she evolves. She consumes fish - she becomes more fish-like. She consumes humans - she becomes more human-like. She consumes plants, rock, tech, glass - whatever - she adapts and evolves. Why are you so upset, for all we know the head might not even have a functional purpose and it's just her human side coming to the surface.
To the argument at 7:45, I don't think it's that bad, to be honest, I don't know if that was exactly intended, but it could be similar to the Joker from The Dark Knight film, there was a bit when he says he hates planning and that he has no plan for his actions, but then later in the movie he reads off a notepad during a later scene, implying his hypocrisy. The same or similar thing can be implied with Bel'Veth. She says "she doesn't need those pesky human lies", while still having to rely on things like that, or maybe I'm just overthinking it and it's just flawed design. Anyways, great video, keep it up!!

I dunno about her gameplay, but I like Bel’veth for what she is. She feels like a perfect mix between “human” and monster, not really being either but a weird hybrid, and that kinda fits her status as a voidborn. I hope she gets put in other spinoffs like the fighting game with better moves though
I do really love Bel'veth's design. It's so much better than the concept so I'll take this design as a huge win. The fact that they only showed her face in the teasers really hid the fact of how monstrous she actually is. Subversion of our expectations. Of course I would've preferred if she was just her monstrous form and there was no head. And the complaint of her not needing the head bc she can just telepathically trick the mind, I would argue that most sea creatures (which she consumed many) use mostly physical disguises. So she could've taken those attributes but when she consumed the humans she knew she had to trick them specifically. Adopting both qualities. Even if she wasn't the promised monster champion, she's so so much better than what we could've gotten so I say she's a win in the monster champion book. I really hope Riot continues to create more actual monstrous minter champions. But we'll have to see

One, you forgot to add Renata with her mind controlling chemical in the list of world ending threats. Second, I personally don’t mind the human form because it seems more as a “form your comfortable with” type of deal, based on her dialogue in Pinwheel
Im not really sure...Renata might be bad news, but there are real people in the real world that are far worse than her, its funny that she ended up being more empathetic than those who inspired her design.
Aditionally that gives potential for character growth in the future. For example the more humans she consumes, the more she feels urge to rule over mankind rather than end it. Could be fun take,

I think her head is the basis for how she mind controls people. Looking at the final moments of her trailer, it looks like she mind controls Kai'sa through revealing her face.
How she behaves being incongruous with what she says seems crucial to the character. She is the -most- human of the void monsters and can thus be self deluding and fallible. I think it's brilliant if maybe a bit subtle, but far more interesting than just being smart and powerful and knowing it.
I think my biggest problem with her design and lore (ignoring that’s, in game, she’s so broken and buggy rn that’s she’s disabled) is that her whole lore and design is a walking contradiction. She supposedly uses her humanoid appearance to lure in prey, but who tf is going to think for a second she’s human? She clearly looks, acts and moves unnaturally. Not to mention people apparently find kai’sa’s appearance “monsterous”, despite her literally just being scarlett johannson in her black widow outfit. Oh, but a 9 ft tall mass of undulating purple flesh floating above the ground isn’t unnerving. But the thing is, even if Bel’veth were a perfect human mimic, it would matter, cause she can just mind control you and convert you into one of her horde whether you’re trying to bang her or not. There is NO reason for her to have attractive qualities. You can argue that it’s like an angler fish bait, but then why is kai’sa shunned despite being drastically more normal looking? And why does an angler fish with mind control need bait anyway? Especially when so much of her design revolves around moving so fast that even kai’sa can’t avoid her? Who’s going to escape her speed, strength, and psychic abilities? And, if they COULD work around those things, is the saving grace going to be that her “good looks” draw them in? Her design is just plot hole after plot hole.
It kinda grew on me, the only thing I would on her to change would be he picking picture to be her true form or chest I suppose

I think she's just trying to have her cake and eat it too as well, I mean, she's both marine life and human life in a neat voidling pack. Plus, you wouldn't try to attack her to death when presented with her human form, you'd at first doubt and try to speak with her since she looks "sentient enough" (unless you're someone like Olaf who just wants to fight i guess).
I’d be happy if riot would make a ctrl 5 command just like with Dj Sona, so you could hide the head in her base form.

I was also waiting for SOMETHING from the void since I started playing just akter Kai'Sa was released. I love bel'veth's potential to move forward the stories of the rest of void champions. I hate how she attacks with her wings; imagine that in the cinematic, it would ruin everything.

Imagine the cinematic:
Kai'Sa is running from Rek'Sai while shooting her rockets but it does nothing. She then dashes far away and stands behind some debris, breathing slowly. She then hears a lound roar and then a meaty thud. Kai'Sa slowly turns and looks at Rek'Sai, who has her head lowered and to the right, to indicate she was just attacked. She then releases another scream as a purple blur slides trough the screen and attacks once again. Cut to Kai'sa close up, as she's trying to see what is going on. Cut to Bel'Veth's claw/part of her as a voice rings out "How often does the hunter not realize that it already became prey...". Another cut to slightly confused Rek'Sai, turning her head, not able to sense Bel'veth, before the purple blur once again passes trough the screen, atacking Rek'Sai from multiple directions as she flinches from each hit. She then releases one more angry roar as the blur stops in front of her, us seeing only the back of Bel'Veth. A cut to shocked Kai'Sa folllowed by a shot that reveals Bel'Veth's true form bottom to top. As she's fully revealed she lets out a scream of her own, followed by an over the shoulder shot of Bel'Veth absolutely smacking the shit out of Rek'Sai's face, finishing with with her tail attack that makes Rek'Sai fall over. After a second she as Bel'Veth relaeses another scream, Rek'Sai gets up and slowly starts walknig away. You then hear a voice ring out "There will always be a bigger fish... Isn't that right..." Bel'veth turns "Kai'sa?". At that point the debris Kai'sa hid behind starts moving and grabs her. The scene the continues similar as normal, but in reverse, with Bel'Veth turning into human form to talk with Kai'Sa

The void lore is very similar to the symbiote lore in marvel. "Consume all for the hive mind" turning into "na I don't wanna tho"
I think it has something to do with the humans in the city she consumed. She is made of them, maybe some remanents of their consciousness are triying to assimilate a new form to something more akin
I really hope "Evelynn with Morray-hair" becomes a seperate champ as a Marai, or something from the abyss below that the Marai use the Moonstone to ward against

maybe have a base % for the minions to spawn normally, maybe that you can command them directly to move and attack maybe that you don't need to specifically kill Baron for this thing which is the central piece of this champion's lore to actually get into the game... but that would be "too OP"
one of my favorite MOBA games is Demigod where you have 2 classes of characters: Assassins and Generals.
Assassins are not always what their name set out to be, they are not all Glass Cannons or even focused on killing other players(there are 5 characters for each type with skill trees bigger than can be utilized in a single game so they play differently based on player choice)
Rook is a walking Giant with the ability to have Turrets built on him, an AOE stun ability which is almost an exclusive in this game and can Absorb enemy Turrets for health. there are a TON of other things this guy does but for the most part this branch of gameplay means he plays like a Split-Pusher, Bringing his own BS grid to decimate your defenses.
the other class of character features a unique mob summoned by them and 3 summoning slots for purchasable mobs, you don't HAVE to use this but having a personal army is extremely fun.
Imagine Yorik but with a full wave at his command in addition to the ghouls and Meiden that he can summon AT WILL.

Honestly, just pointing out the human face would make sense.....in a way. Because she ate sea life in her early stages she is most likely imitating angler fish, like you mentioned. The intended use isn't necessarily to lure her prey in but rather to make them comfortable with her. If, let's say, her prey were to see her for what she truly is, they'd go insane and therefore no knowledge would be acquired. Their mind would melt and seethe unto chaos. So by mimicking a human form she allows her prey to fall under some sense of security. Not to mention her consumption of humans allowed her to sustain some of our "royal" and "regal" standards. With the "face" she has made for herself she is adopting our culture and molding it into her own image, which is just her goal exactly; Take over the world and mold it into her image. So while the face does seem unnecessary, it makes sense in a way. By no means am I an expert, I'm pointing out what I see and would like to share my opinion with this open minded community.
