Bravo Chef! Loving the "Chris cooks" section, loving the apron even more, really made me chuckle. Thank you for sharing that, I never knew garlic lost flavour that way! Fab video guys, lovely to see you out enjoying yourselves and don't worry about the breathing stuff, I always sound like a deflating balloon on camera and have to hold my breath when filming dan. Loved it guys xx
😂😂😂 I would explode if I tried holding my breath! Thank you as always for watching us and giving us such good vibes. Hope work isn't too much of a slog! Xx
I've been following Come along dear for the last 8 months or so. Similar van to yours I think Dione. 🤔 Glad to see you trying out different things. Keep up the good work guy's. 💪😎
Thank you! I always appreciate your comments Gareth! When we met Stephen and Dan they said our van was a palace which made us appreciate it even more. Ours is a tad bigger than theirs 😊❤
Love church stretton it really is beautiful! We also visited Montgomery last week. Great dancing, and not to forget the muscle man meal 😂 Now was that water or wine in disguise?
I wish we would have seen you in montgomery, it would have been a shock and fun for both of us. I must admit my dancing is much better when fueled by alcohol 😂 thank you so much for watching and keeping in touch! Again, looking forward to your new adventures. Been following you since the time you met Stephen CV life. Dione ❤️
@@vanandrewschrisanddione Yes such a shame, we will have to catch up at some point, we don’t get to meet many people as don’t do the big social gatherings Thank you 😍
Hi 👋 both great video really enjoying watching u both we had a static caravan in mid wales a little place called llanbrynmair no frills site we like that lovely country side around mid wales we had seven happy years holidaying down there but got to expensive ground rent have u ever been to clee hill park up on the lay-by lovely views and there’s a fish chip shop yummy lol u both take care Clare x
Ground rent is so high now! I'm sorry you had to give it up! I hope you have found ways to get back out in nature. Yes, we went to Clee Hill and smelled the fish and chips 😂! We need to get to Bridgnorth. Maybe next week 😁 xx
Hi 👋 hope u get to bridge north when we lived in Telford we would travel to the supermarket in bridge north it was summmerfields then many moons ago did our shopping and popped for a drink at a pub yes we love the country side we may do bnb now and again I carnt walk far I have fibromyalgia and other health problems but I plod on enjoy bridgenorth both clare x
@ClareBates-sq1mn keep going Clare! We can barely walk far either, but just sitting on a bench in a beautiful place is all good, as you probably know 🥰. Looking forward to Bridgnorth and will love to see your thoughts when we do put it up. Have a good day tomorrow and keep up your great attitude xx
Well that cooking section certainly put us to shame 😂 Loving the apron and the hat, not to mention the very chef-like ingredients all ready at the side, I wish I could be that organised! The knife tip is brilliant, I'll definitely try to remember that as I'm always worried about losing a finger tip! (and nearly did once). And I second Stephen, we must remember that garlic tip too - we love garlic, so the more flavour the better. I think I incinerate ours before the next ingredient is even in 😂 And even better, stirring spaghetti straight in the sauce, so convenient 😋 Top work, Chris! Fabulous dancing Dione it must be said 😂 A shame Chris wasn't game enough to risk life and limb by "accidentally" falling over in the river, what a spoilsport 😂 (it never works when I try with Stephen, in fact I have to scream and shout to call him back just to appear on camera in the first place!) Lovely video. We actually went there in 2022 but i dont think we filmed it, might be on an old Instagram post maybe. We went up to the waterfall, but also hiked up a hill, got very very lost and came back down a horrible steep, wet and dangerous "path" 😬🙈 Still, apart from that, it was beautiful there! Take care both of you ❤
A couple of little tips that might help a bit with views (apart from falling over in rivers 😂), try to make the thumbnail full size so it's the same dimensions as your video (which your previous ones are to be fair), and then try to make the words stand out so people might be "grabbed" by it when it shows up. Although we are far from the best people to take advice from, as often our ideas don't translate into views 😂 But I do know an eye catching thumbnail is a big help at least. We usually try to grab a screenshot we like that I can fit biggish words in somehow. Occasionally (like our recent video) we'll take a photo (in landscape, again the same dimensions you're filming in) that we think might be usable as a cover picture. So for this we stood to the side of that clock thing and took a few pics. Other times I'll cut us out and paste us separately onto a different background if I can't find anything suitable, but a decent screenshot from your video will often suffice, as long as you can fit the words on and still see either your faces or whatever the main image is. Some people even try changing their thumbnail even after the video's been released, no idea if it works but I've heard it's possible. For this, you could have a thumbnail of Chris cooking and write "Van Life Cooking Tips" or something on the pic somewhere in big enough writing to see, or Dione dancing with something appropriately titled but still related to travel/vanlife. The other thing is apparently (again, not concrete facts here) is to use just 3 hashtags maximum relevant to your video or channel in the description, but crucially put key words into your video description itself, especially the first line...apparently! So words/phrases like vanlife, campervan, travel, explore, full time vanlife, home on wheels plus the area you're in...etc etc, mixed into the description, and the first line especially. E.g "vanlife adventures in Shropshire with our campervan as we travel to Carding Mill and vanlife cooking ideas" before a slightly more detailed description. That's not the best example at all but hopefully it makes sense what I mean. However, take with a pinch of salt, we are no experts and things we think might work, don't, and other times things take off randomly weeks later with no explanation (see our Sweden video). If we really knew the tricks we'd be doing it better 😂 And of course, if it was that simple, well UA-cam would be a breeze, but it's not 🙈 Still, hopefully some of those things might help a bit? We definitely believe the thumbnail is important for views as you need to draw people in. Think of it like a book cover you're drawn to in a shop - big words and/or striking pictures. People do it WAY better than us, but we try our best with our limited skills. You guys are great personalities so I'm sure you can get more subscribers in time ❤
My heart is bursting for the time you spent typing this all out. THANK YOU! I think I had a mind blip with the thumb nail!! Your tips are awesome and make perfect sense! I would suggest you copy and paste that post in case you're ever in the position of helping someone else! It will save you time in responding 🤣🤣. I do that with some of my catch up emails, then just tweak it to the person I'm writing to. 😉 I cannot thank you enough!! Honestly, you're so helpful! Also a huge thanks for recommending powerdirector. It is so much easier than the editor I was trying to use. Currently I'm only using the mobile app, but I wanted to get my head around it before purchasing the PC one. Oh and once I feel more confident, thanks as well for the music app suggestion, too. You have been instrumental in getting me up and running, or crawling 🤣, on this youtube adventure. And honestly, there aren't enough words to convey my appreciation!! I'm so grateful Stephen walked by our van at Greengates 😉. Kismet, and now you're stuck with us 😂. Lots of ❤️❤️🥰🥰, Dione
@vanandrewschrisanddione aww no worries at all, you are more than welcome, it's no bother ❤ As I say we're not necessarily the best people to offer advice as so much is total guess work and luck, but I'm pretty sure the thumbnail is key to getting a few people through the door. This week for example, I had a feeling it wouldn't do as well as some of our others because it's not especially “dramatic”, and that's exactly what's happened, although some things can randomly do well weeks later. It can be difficult trying to find the line between clickbait and something that represents the video in an eye-catching way, and sometimes it feels like we've got nothing to work with 😂 But what we've also realised is actually most people don't care if your thumbnail is a bit OTT, once they're through the door, if they like you, they'll often stay regardless of what the picture is. Still, it can be hard and we're nowhere near as daring as some channels with their thumbnail! I'm glad you're getting on with powerdirector, I've never tried the phone version. We have had some problems with it recently but I do think that's our laptops, I'm still not sure though 🙈 It's probably not the best software at all (I think Adobe Premiere Pro is one loads of youtubers use) but it's what I started with and got used to, so I've stuck with it because I hate change 😂 Anyway take care both, if you've any questions drop us a message we'll try to help if we can. Looking forward to more videos! ❤️
@comealongdear We both said 'Aw that's so lovely' and we hope you're a fast typer 😂🥰. We do struggle in the same way with clickbait!! But as you said, if it's people we normally follow, we do watch all the way through and then talk about the click bait title afterwards 😂. Yes, I have read that Adobe is the best, but more complicated. If you decided to switch, I think you would have to have a few videos in the bag and then plonk yourself either on a campsite or your family's drive and spend a few frustrating days getting used to it. But as you told me, once you get started, you tend to use the same features over and over again. Best advice!! And we are all learning all the time, and then those damn youtubers up the game with more nifty equipment 🤣 🤣🤣. You're ahead of me in the game so I do appreciate you sharing all you've learned!! I'm grateful for your advice ❤️. Thank you for taking up so much of your time. I would say I hope we can meet again and discuss this, but I suspect we would be too busy putting the world to rights 🤣🤣. Hope you get on the road again soon and off the wheel of work 😂. Xxx
@vanandrewschrisanddione the equipment and skills of other youtubers is enough to give me a panic attack 😂 I'm happy with our phone for now, although a GoPro type gadget might be fun for swimming etc. I think what gets us is carrying all that equipment on a day out, it just sounds stressful! Now if we were earning a living from it, then you'd drag your weight in gadgets twice over probably, but we're not, so a humble phone and chance to still enjoy the places we go is fine for us! We do need a microphone I think though. I have one our friends gave to us but it doesn't quite fit with my phone cover on, so might have a look around for others. Be good to see you again at some point most definitely! Take care ❤
Enjoyed the cooking and dancing 😂
