I remember when our windscreen wiper motor failed we tied some para cord to one wiper on the wifes side and i had the drivers side wiper , it was worse than heave ho heave ho lol, but we got back home from Devon, and it was chucking it down as usual on a bank holiday. Another funny story, was we had a Ford Orion, and the bonnet stay had broken looseish enough to pop the bonnet up on a dual carridgeway travelling 80MPH had to use the side mirrors to pull over, and sadly we only had the wifes bra to tie the bonnet down with after it wrapped itself around the roof , again it worked, improvise when you have to is a good and always carry cordage with you, along with other essentials cause you never know.
Pot hole city, legend has it the locals have a collection of wheel trims 😆Blimey lass looks like you drove the van through the Monkey enclosure at Longleat Safari park, Wheel hub covers, Windscreen wipers are a favorite along with roof gutter seals and number plates lol, Subbed.
Have you noticed that everyone goes to France everything starts going wrong it’s just really strange to me as well really little things just happened go wrong but we still plod along the way. Have a great safe trip😊
Hi, you can always cut a potato in half if you have and clean the windscreen with it and it would clear apparently. I’ve never tried it though. Just a thought
I posted a reply earlier but it doesn’t seem to be here 🤔 I love your suggestion and said I should try out. I have since purchased a potato and I’m going to test it and make a UA-cam short to see if it works 😂
Welcome to France and enjoy the ride! Duct or helicopter tape is your friend, try to splint the wiper with a firm stick for the time being. There's probably something with the vacuum at the fuel pomp. A NorAuto garage can probably help you fast, but don't be afraid to ask around for a trusted garage in a little village. Scenic/local routes ar the best and imho the only proper way to cross France. Don't hurry haha, best of luck!
Hi i just came across your page, i wish i didn't sold my van😢, in June, i wish i had kept it and go on adventures, but i have converted my Renault kangoo into a mini car camper i just need to push myself to leave my comfort zone. And explore the country. Otherwise i will never do it. Going through France is best to keep to the national routes, you have more chance to view the beautiful places and towns that are in France , than travelling on the very expensive motorways, also if you breakdown on motorways the mechanics are much much expensive than the rurals ones. My husband and i travelled through France many yeas ago and loved it. Poitiers was a lovely place. Just be careful were you park you never know who is around , specially at dark, try not to park too remote . Stay safe , safe journey Give my love to France ,. ❤
Are you sure the wiper doesn't just push fit back into the clip on your wiper arm? The wheel trim will just clip back into the wheel, the crack shouldn't affect it if the pressure hoop isn't damaged.👌 Use the higher octane (more expensive) diesel to sort your power out, try that first. 👌
Thank you for the suggestions. No, the wiper had acutally snapped clean off. I think it’s the wrong arm for this van to be honest. It has been welded back on now so will do for the time being. I’ll post an update on the power issue in my next video, it was pressure/vacuum related. Really simple to fix thankfully.
@@CuriousAboutAdventure Teething problems you can get with any new to you vehicles, even new ones.👌 I would also get a bottle of injector cleaning additive. About £5 a bottle here in England. It does two thankfully of diesel. Just pour half the bottle in at fill up time. Then take the engine up to the red line on the rev counter through the gears a few times. It gives your injection jets a good clean out. It should be done at least once a year, preferably more . Have a fab.trip.🌲🌞🍰🏍️🍻🐈⬛🎶🎶🤡
I love your motivation carry on regardless😂❤👍
Tie your wheel trims on with cable ties!😊

This made me laugh, I bet you had a few looks from other drivers 😆

A lovely young lady, daughter, to be very proud of... loving Bailey too...stay safe out there... 💚💙💚
Thank you, that’s really lovely of you.
the crack in the wheel trim won't make any difference, just make sure the wire ring is in the correct place then refit, with the heel of a good boot

Thank you. The wiper has been welded back on and you are spot on with the vacuum, that’s exactly what the issue was.

Hi - Keep pushing that comfort zone, I actually made a video about that too. My second video I think.
Good luck to you and thanks for the tips.
Interested to follow your journey, as you get to know your van and van living..

Aldi and Lidl often stock it here. Try fuel station shops too.😅
My frist thought was fuel pump
Greetings from 72. I am trying to place your accent. Are you from the north of England? Van life = breakdowns = fixing = Van life!
Hello number 72 😆. I am from Norfolk and I have lived there all my life. I am told that I don’t sound Norfolk though.
