How high I climb largely depends on how thick the canopy is, especially on public. If I can climb high and still have plenty of room to shoot, I would get up to anywhere between 15-25 ft. However if the canopy is thick, I would climb just enough to have a bit of cover. Last season, I was hunting some thick stuff and I used 1 stick plus my platform, I was at most 8 ft off the ground. I had deer walk right in front of me and never got busted.
I am anywhere between 18 and 25ft depending on my spot. Shot big 8point on SC public land at 23ft height.. He was behind me and barely had a shooting lane for my .308. 10mph winds 33F. 9:15am 11/14
Depends on the setup I never go higher then 20 ft . Heck even in my climber or hang on stand still only hunt between 15 and 20 ft . Think about it the higher up you go the smaller your kill zone gets who in their right mind would want a tiny kill zone .
Most people don't know how high they are. I have been marking my pullup rope for 25 years so I know exactly how high I am. It is a sick obsession. I am normally 21 -25 at my feet. I don't like to bow hunt any higher than that. I have gone as much as 42' in my climber with a rifle. When gun hunting I like to get over 30 if I can. They don't see you or smell you. For some reason that seems to be the magic number.

I typically hunt between 15-17 feet, preferably with cover at my back!
Pretty safe place to hunt. Its balancing efficiency with effectiveness.
Same🙌🏻

This might sound weak but, I don’t go higher than 25 feet. It seems to work for me.
Not weak at all! The more experience you get the more efficient you get. Some of the best hunters we know hunt at 5-10 feet or even the ground
Same here
My best buck with a bow I was in a 15' ladder.

I agree...16-20 feet is my normal height. 👍

Preset trees I like alittle height. But mobile hunting getting high isn't really practical.
Tree gaffs.. High as you want, less gear
Been hunting with saddle and gaffs since the 90's, fast and stealthy
Hahaha! Sticks aren’t light! Screw in steps are tho!
