Supplemental Feeding Deer | Thlete | Deer Hunting
Providing supplemental feed to deer offers significant benefits, including improved nutritional intake, better reproductive success, and healthier antler development. By enhancing growth and overall health, supplemental feeding ensures deer have the essential nutrients often lacking in natural forage, promoting increased body weight and better survival rates for fawns. Additionally, improved nutrition can lead to higher fertility rates, resulting in larger populations. A well-nourished herd exhibits stronger immune systems and lower parasite loads, contributing to overall health and resistance to diseases. Moreover, supplemental feeding can reduce human-wildlife conflict by decreasing crop damage and minimizing urban encroachment.
However, the practice of supplemental feeding also poses potential risks. Concentrating deer at feeding sites can increase the risk of disease transmission, such as Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), and may cause deer to become dependent on the feed, reducing their natural foraging behaviors. This dependency can lead to starvation if the feed becomes unavailable. Overpopulation resulting from supplemental feeding can lead to habitat degradation and negatively impact plant biodiversity, affecting other species that rely on those plants. Effective supplemental feeding requires careful management to balance these benefits and risks, involving regular monitoring and adjustments to ensure a healthy and sustainable deer population.

only watched the video 'cause you look amazing in a saddle :P
Great video. Thanks for sharing
This guy should only be a loud to carry a water gun.
Beautiful. We are seeing more babies everyday.
Beautiful. Great video.
Great pant for sure
Grabbing the phantom x pants and Kodiak jacket for this fall!
Just picked up the T-1000s on the Memorial Day sale! I'll definitely have to try the Zodiacs out too eventually!
The quality and function looks to be great on both. Gotta have both!
Just get some voile straps and make it work around the ankles.
Wow, Tennessee. I am upset because my dog got 2 ticks this spring in our bush. About 2 hours north of Toronto in Ontario. Was thinking of heading into US this year but you are not painting a great picture of your state!!
Awesome job!
Thanks!
Thanks!
You can’t feel that
Had this happen last year 😊
You can feel that
Oh heck yeah! 🔥
Get some!
This man is not only an incredible hunter but knows all the tips and tricks!
you should spray paint the blue. dear see that light flashlights
Very good video. I’m looking for one rx7, thanks!
You should move your shin pads up to two fingers from the top of your tibia, might be more comfortable
And stay tight
Has the wind proof fleece vest dropped yet?
Yes, it is available over on our website!
sadly.....From someone that has done arborist work since the late 80's when I was in school......Using them in a healthy tree damages it and opens it for infection..... Not real smart..... And I hunt too..... They should only be used on trees that you want to remove.....
This helps so much. I have been looking for information about ozone. Im buying a uvc light for my laundry to hang in my bathroom. The uvc light im eyeing produces ozone. The light would only be on for a half an hour or so, but i didn't know if it would just dry rot the clothes or if it would last alittle longer. This is for everyday laundry that i can't dry in the drier. Washing then boiling, (because the washers in my building are absolute trash) then the uvc. It would only be on the base layers for every day wear. So this helps. Than you so much for making this video.
Morons…
This dude is the reason I quit outfitting, oh and by the way Busch beer sucks.
Been using tree climbing spurs with a saddle since the late 80’s. Mine comes up to my knees and leather with buckles like a belt. No platform. Take 3 screw-in steps to stand on when you reach the height you want and never take them off.
John Sloan wrote in his old book “Bowhunting Whitetail Deer” (in protest to climbing stands that forced the hunter to face the tree), “I’m not hunting trees.” So despite the obvious benefit of a saddle to the mobile hunter, it’s hard to argue that a tree obscuring a stand hunter’s field of view as well as the fact we don’t have eyes in our back doesn’t result in fewer deer observed and fewer shot opportunities, especially when hunting more open areas and/or when leaves are wet.
You lost me at Busch Light. Hopefully my fellow Canadian men there showed you boys some real beer that isnt piss water. Haha.
Sling'll probably help from pointing your rifle at that poor guide. Also slow-mo abuse...yes I'm just here to complain sry.
Stop killing the trees. Go up MRS like a boss
Your own property so do what you like. The most of us hunting public can't afford the ticket you're gonna get when you get busted.
I know most wont agree and it will definitely feel uncomfortable at first, but I’ve been making a living climbing power poles for around 20 years, and climbed trees for most of my teens and early 20’s. Leave the hooks a little loose around your feet. You don’t want them super tight. Also, for the buckle biting into your calfs, grab a few maxi-pads from your wife’s purse and stick them to your legs. Having my legs rubbed raw, stinging and burning, and pouring blood from my legs taught me to improvise.
Got her done!Good times and bring a sling for mountain hunting.
Where's a good place to find some second-hand climbers?
can’t believe he had no sling but loved his vibe. the other guy was miserable i don’t think he wanted to even hold his buck the one he hit in the head lmao
Merry Christmas
Ridiculous
what backpack are you using?
No
He was a shooter til he went behind the corn.
Do you carry the rifle up on your climb or hoist it up once you get set up
I do both. Not sure about him
@@foxf6when you choose to raise your gun and lower how do you prevent the barrel from going into the ground
@@abintner23 practice and you can lay it on the side. I use a suppressor and a can cover that sticks out so it’s more forgiving.
@@foxf6 ok would it be best to just bring a gun case and raise and lower it in that just incase
As a professional arborist this entire concept for hunter Is painful to watch
He's you g
Cute video. Please switch the conjunction (you’re) with the possessive pronoun (your) more people will enjoy this cute video 💜💜ty
Nope
They make a new thing called a sling now that helps you carry your gun. 😅
where is the muzzle awareness
❤
You may let it pass by , but the next hunter won't
