You're right. The game is a gem, but the pricing is nonsense. I wanted to become VIP and when I saw the price, I simply gave up. It's the double of Swtor or WoW and I pay with Brazilian Real, which makes it worse.
That's the thing. They are not plenty, that's why they had to skyrocket the pricing. Back in the day the expensive bundles used to go 50-60$ with more stuff included (content and cosmetics etc). Now you pay up to 130$ for way less, just to get a glorified, laggy Rings of Power 2.0 and all its woke crap.
Also i remember the days when lotro expacks came with raids on release. SSG is rushing out stuff every year before its even 1000% ready. I doubt the devs really care that much, its a job, they just want to get paid.
A level 150 boost (valar) is worthless without the virtue XP I agree, and so would anyone whose played lotro past level 20. Th devs know that obviously, but choose to deceive people into thinking it's a true level 150 boost... A level 150 character with 0 virtue xp is a severely hampered version of a max level character....
I wish the old people at ssg would all retire and bring in a new fresh and passionate generation. the old people there have been there most of their lives and they are just waiting for retirement at htis point.
The issue here is that the older developers know how this game works. If someone like Orion leaves again, so too does a lot of tribal knowledge. And he's passionate. One of the few developers that actually speaks to the community like human beings. Noone can replace people like him and build up anywhere near as much goodwill with the playerbase. It irks me to see that goodwill tarnished because of sheer corporate greed and an out of touch manager.
@@Grotmaggot But that's what interns are for, you get them to see if you will hire them once their term is done, or apprenticeship coders / Entry level.. its about training the new staff and generation to take over to keep the company going. everyone in the world does this so its strange ssg would just let everything die when they die or retire.
@@Grotmaggot Also i asked Orion in one of his streams if he knows how to code, and he does not, all he knows how to do is manipulate code. He doesnt understand how to write it or the process. @@dew-me7266 I did see that. Lotro's code is supposedly a mess and there's a different team who actually code things. When you hear any developer say 'engineers' that's what they're referring to. From what I understand, a lot of lotro's 'development' is done through manipulating exel spreadsheets. Systems will likely reuse the bases of other code (LI system uses essences, birding is basically fishing in the air, etc) which is fine for small things but when you want a major revamp for something deep like crafting. It requires more. This isn't a slight to Orion or anything because he does put a lot of heart into what he does. I think the main role he plays in the company is conceptualizing ideas and working alongside other developers to get new stuff out there. But it does seem that any major roadblocks he faces stems from something in the code that requires a major rewrite and there's like noone in SSG capable of doing it anymore. That's pure speculation on my part but it's exactly what I mean when I say 'tribal knowledge'. Orion has a good rapport with the playerbase, he listens to people and he engages with people outside the forums to actually get solid feedback. He's a positive aspect in SSG. If he leaves, I don't think anyone would be able to replace him. I know it sounds like I'm sucking him off but I genuinely believe that.
I think I implied that about halfway in the video. They give the virtue experience but not the level boost originally. This would have been fixed with just adding a valar pack like they should have. Then they offer a 150 level boost but if you want the vxp you have to pay 130 dollars.
@@kane1261 Thanks for the clarification about the VXP from the Ultimate Edition. I'm not sure if I made it clear but the monkey's paw gift I'm referring to is the 150 level boost that comes with the base expansion (the one WITHOUT the VXP). Imagine the grind that awaits you if you make a level cap character with 0 virtue experience. If anything it's a noob trap. It's perfectly fine for someone who just wants to quest through the new content, but it's a nightmare grind for someone who wants to jump into group play or just level the virtues because it's kind of expected at that level. So unless they buy the ultimate edition. They've got to backtrack a LOT just to deed hundreds of times. That's the most misleading part about all this IMO
@@Grotmaggot Oh no I absolutely agree, that's why I'm still not buying it because even if I get the ultimate edition all the other virtues would need grinding until I go bonkers. Instead I made the informed decision of downloading WoW and buying the ultimate edition there while continuing to play on Legendary EU server as the only non-lag server on lotro. Also no 25% EXP and/or VEXP item in bundle is very disappointing.
just heard that the hookah can be used by 3 people at the same time. Forget everything I said, this has changed the game completely. We're going to be smoking that dank hashish in the Prancing Pony for the rest of this level cap and life will be good!
Creeps have the best deal. Free buffs and the only cosmetic works as intended because it's literally just slapping an already existing NPC appearance on creeps lmao!
So stop playing, don't by the expansion, and save our $15.00 / month for the next few hundred years and write your own LOTRO game and do it all the way you want too.

can i buy the level 140 valar for virtue xp then use the level 150 level up package after?
You can!

Don't worry, plenty of idiots will pay for that 130 ball extension.
they could put it at 200 with even less bonus than the idiots would pay for crumbs
