I'm only level 50 on Angmar, first time player - so 150 is far and away. Don't really have an opinion on the level cap as a result but focusing more on content/improvements seems a logical move on a game with so much depth. Morgoth.
Morgoth! Just got back into lotro and bought the umbar expansion. Wasn't sure about Legacy of Morgoth but it does look like SSG have some great game design features in the pipeline.
Not having downscaling is what got me playing lotro. Every company uses these same talking points to sell the idea, but it always kills the fun in a game. I'm not a player who needs the entire game handed to me.
I believe this is supposed to be an optional setting - in which case, I love it. You can both level your characters and progress through the game normally, but also help your lower lvl kinsmen in a quest without completely squashing whatever you're fighting (which is obviously not fun).
How do you feel about the level cap staying on 150 for this expansion? Are you looking forward to Downscaling and Kinship rework? Like & Subscribe for more Lord of the Rings Online Content - thank you!
I think the level cap staying at 150 is a good thing overall, and a more casual lateral progression system being added could be nice. This is seen to be a great success in games such as Guild Wars 2, as you said, but also in the Elder Scrolls Online. Both games allow returning players who have maybe taken a decent hiatus from the game to come back for new content and experience it at their own pace without having to worry about levelling and chasing new gear upgrades every time. It also gives a very tangible end goal for a character to reach, in that new players know where the “finish line” is so to speak. I’m eager to see how downscaling will be implemented, as well as the changes to Kinships. Both have the possibility to revitalize older content in a great way, and allow those newer players to take the more veteran players alongside with them to really help them learn the ropes of LOTRO. Also, Morgoth
@@smudgyace I know that end game crowd likes to keep pushing further and further but sometimes it's better just to let the game breathe especially a game like this. Not everything is about rushing to the end!
Thank you so much. I have to be honest, the entire leveling system is what push me away from LOTRO in 2024. I am so sorry because I like the game but I can't invest so many time only on leveling. We will see tho... :)
It's simple: The "Expansion" for 2024 is just replacing how "Mini-Expansions" used to be used in 2020 & 2022. It's going to be more than what those were but not have the fancy stuff like New Max Level, New Race, New Class, and so on. The Lord of the Rings Online, pending anything, operates on a 2 Year Content Cycle for the current "Max Level". After that 2 Years a New Max Level will be added and the whole process starts anew: New Levels, New Class (plus possibly a New Race), and so on. The main thing they've done is go away from calling the "Main Content" for a year as a "Mini-Expansion" and just as an Expansion. This has led to confusion & lack of expectations due to how the previous 4 Expansions (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023) had such things like a New Max Level & New Class.
Hard to say I think due to changes within the Studio. It does add up with them also saying -> Expansion -> Mini Expansion as their cycle before, but unsure at the moment if that is also the future direction they want to take or not, and will the content be more evenly spread between the expansions every year, IF they keep the yearly release. Time will tell I guess.
Was kinda confused to see Khaldoon from LotR Rise to War on the thumbnail, It's a terrible mobile game, but art style, music and models are the only great things there.
It will be completely optional - plus you have to level to continue the story and be able to do content. Dowscaling does not make stronger monsters weaker.
hate delvings. You get crap to fill your bags and it makes NO sense to carry rocks and pile it on another rock for tier. Skirms were much better. Hope they hired someone with mmo experience.
I get the need for a level increase while going through the main content of an expansion. It's a much needed tether to ground the experience of progress in our brains. However, if the time is spent upgrading and evolving evergreen features then it's a worthwhile endeavor. SSG needs to reprioritise elements in the game that will enrich the experience for veterans and make it welcoming for newcomers. Things like the looking for dungeon system (ape FF14 or WoW) that doesn't work well, the wardrobe (make outfits immediately unlocked and added to a collections tab (paying for wardrobe space does not feel good and the whole system is clunkier than FF14's glamour system), graphical improvements (use AI to fill in the gaps in the development team's capacity and resource availability) and far more. More importantly, as a new player, the one thing that has kept me from playing the game all this while is the awful resolution scaling. The higher I go, the smaller and harder to read/see the UI and map becomes. It wasn't until I reduced the resolution and min/maxed the UI scale that I could enjoy the game but I doubt most people would even care to do this. All in all though, this is a wonderful game and as a new player I absolutely want to see it thrive. Morgoth!
watchin the new LOTR series on Amazon (which is fantastic by the way) makes me wanna play. I think Im gonna sub and get all the new content. Im still only level; 65 in Mirkwood though so is it even worth it to sub now? Or should I wait until my level is higher? Just wondeirng what I will get out of subbing now. Any help please? Im out of the country so its just kind of a pain getting money in my US account. I also feel like its taking me a while to level up. Ive been in Moria and Mirkwood for like 10 years lol of ocurse Ive been playing off an don but I wanna play the expansions and whatever dungeons and raids come wih them
I love lotr, in fact just tonight I was reading through the FOTR, and back in the day when this mmo first came out when I was a kid it was fun, but now it’s aged like bad moldy cheese, the graphics are terrible (which wouldn’t be so bad if that was the only issue) the movement is horrendous, it feels like a game from the early 2000s 😂 and the combat isn’t that exciting. I really wish they would “modernize” it to where movement feels nice and fluid, and maybe just update the graphics just a little bit just like other mmos have done to keep up with the times. I would play this game so fast if they did that
RIFT did it best! you get a max level but if you in a lower elvel your stats are lowered so if you are lv 20 you could say be lv 8 and still keep all your current skills. it lets you do EVERYTHING
The old fashioned mmo leveling progression has to go. Eso created an excellent horizontal progression. Do something like that. Love the downscaling, I want to roam everywhere and play what I wish, eso/gw2 did it well. Good news all around, the vaunting and remote level cap is the reason I went Angmar legendary on my return.
Orion said they don't want to get rid of levels and I somewhat agree with it - but downscaling would allow you to play all content regardless, given it is under your level which it will be anyway as the game needs you to follow the story.
Morgoth! Looking forward to more of your contents and that of LOTRO!

Morgoth! Nice video as always! Even playing on Angmar, i already purchased the expansion. The devs are doing a great job and deserve my support.
Thank you! That is my plan too - continue on Legendary Mordor and boost up a character to try out Legacy of Morgoth!

guys are you having problem like when you close the game its stuck on black screen?
Set the game's compatibility to Windows 8 by right clicking and going to properties. It will fix it.
@@RangerHaz Thank you bro I'll try it later when I'm home
@@farmersho8785 Will work don't worry - I had the same!
Well, then it is time to do all missed slayer deeds with your top levels as those deeds will become more grindish soon :D
Level scaling will be optional! So nothing changes for those who just want to grind them.
@@RangerHaz Oh, that sounds even better! Thank you for all those information!

Downscaling leveling will be a disaster, it takes away the incentive of leveling and gaining power i hope they do not implement this!

Because its a lot of work for the devs otherwise. This way they can grab some cash quick, without really trying.
