It is very apparent that you felt this beautiful piece of musical art deep in your soul...good for you. Too many miss the depths to where this song can take you...if you let it. And that's a pretty good synopsis of Pink Floyd overall.

I've never thought about that before in that context but I think I have to agree. Though maybe not "songs" but "pieces of music" because its a whole movement.

Greetings from Canada. That was Part 1 ( i - v) the first 5 of a 9- part song, a paean to the late Syd Barrett, one of the co- founders of Pink Floyd. Part 2 (vi - ix) is even better, more surprising. Enjoy. Peace, love and bellbottoms.

No, it isn't better! To each his own! I preffer 1-5 to 6-9, which is more funky and groovy, while 1-5 is more jazzy and bluesy...

Pink Floyd create music to experience.
Most other bands write songs to hear.

S hine on Y ou crazy D iamond along with the rest of this entire album relates to Syd Barrett, founding member who dropped out of the band in late '69
Syd was dearly loved but had become incapable of playing live due to failing mental health issues and the effects of drug abuse.
Other tracks hint at the pressures of the Music Industry contributing to Syds problems, and the album Title Track "Wish You Were Here" just about sums it all up.

Classical French composer Claude Debussy was right when he said: “Music is also the space between the notes”. This song is the perfect example of what he meant.
It's sad that at the beginning of your video, you experienced technical problems.
I would have liked to hear your comments, but we couldn't hear your voice, but your facial expression spoke very loudly despite this silence.

Shine on you crazy diamond Parts 1 thru 5 are inspiring but Now you must finish your intro to pink floyd with shine on you crazy diamond with parts 6 thru 9. A Tribute to Sid Barrett, the original Lead guitarest and song writer who went crazy in 1968 from doing too much LSD. Most recognized song on the charts "See Emily Play".
Roger Waters has carried Sid's Legacy over numerous Albums like Dark Side Side of the Moon and wish you were here. A True Friend.
