We appreciate you guys’ criticism on this reaction having way to many pauses, going forward with Pink Floyd reactions in the future we’ll be sure to listen to the songs all the way through without interruption and then we’ll provide our thoughts afterwards, so that we’re able to experience the songs as intended.
Yes listen and let the solo TALK TO YOU FIRST. the criticisms were harsh. Sorry they were but you'll see and feel and understand the why. Do " comfortably numb" pulse, " the wall," " the turning away, " " money" " echos" dig right in you inside will never be the same. Thank you for listening to us.

Glad you’re listening to the comments. Another tip would be to only listen to the studio versions first (lyric vids are ok) as the videos (some are fan created because lots of their work was before MTV was a thing) are distracting. After that you can go to the ever-requested PULSE concert vids. Exception to this is “On the Turning Away” as that live performance is probably better than the studio version.
I think perhaps the video may have distracted you from the music but the main thing is you looked like you had fun and enjoyed the magnificence that is Pink Floyd! thank your Mother :)
You only listened to Parts 1 through 5. On side 2 of the album you will find parts 6 through 9. The whole album is about absence most notable is the absence of one of the band's founding members Roger "Syd" Barrett. He left the group (actually the group left him) early in 1968. His drug use and mental illness caused the split. Just about all their music after that was influenced by Syd. This album is a tribute to him and the lyrics of this song in particular apply to him. In the album Syd is the diamond. Shine You Diamond. He lived out his life as a recluse in Cambridge where he died in 2006 at 60 years of age. The Floyd is a very deep well from which there is much to draw. I envy your journey.
Hi, I read shine on your... For me is important don´t interupt the song with comments, Pink Floyd create ambients, and I believe in necessary listen without interruption. Is my opinion! Te best fr you
Loved your reaction, guys! Sure, you paused a lot, but people need to realize that this is the first time you have heard Pink Floyd. Process it the way you like. I've been listening to Pink Floyd for over 40 years and I still listen daily. Their catalog is amazing and you have just scratched the surface. It's the best rabbit hole you can go down musically. Please keep it up!
The PF album with the triangle and coloured light passing through - Dark side of the Moon ... is worth a listen with headphones, on vinyl / hifi , darkened room, comfy chair. it's a moment you'll never forget ... maybe let the song flow more
The guys in Pink Floyd used to be architecture students, and this piece of music has a sense of space like corridors and vast rooms stretching away before you. Nothing is rushed, and you are made to wait until the moment is right for the next phase.
This is the story of original founder and lead singer Syd Barrett. He unfortunately suffered from mental illness and compounded it with heavy use of acid. Syd left the band in 1970....this album was released in 75...while recording this song Syd showed up at the studio and the band mates didn't recognize him. David Gilmore the guitar player made sure Syd was financially taken care of for the rest of his life. These guys are amazing artists....the music as well as their lyrics are mind blowing and second to none!!
Give them a break, I appreciate the fact that they are taking it in. Sure we know how amazing this song is but this is their first time hearing this masterpiece. I'm sure they will listen to this and others in full. I think this was a great reaction.
This animation along with many others was played on a giant circular screen behind the band during their 1977 In the flesh tour. The atmosphere was so intense with these animations going on crazy lights everywhere sounds like you couldn't believe because Pink Floyd put speakers behind you on both sides of you on the stage and above you and left it feel like you were inside a giant pair of headphones!!! So the sound was absolutely surround sound and perfect! And as far as an intense atmosphere I saw at least a dozen people get hauled out by either paramedics or security because they were freaking out!! I've seen recent concerts and even with today's standards & technology that concert in 1977 was ahead of it's time!! You guys should check out "Comfortably Numb" from their 1994 Pulse concert!! That way you'll see a concert done in 94 that would beat most concerts in today's standards and tech!!! Or even Shine On You Crazy Diamond from that same 94 Pulse concert tour! Any song during that concert is at least equivalent to any other bands Grand finale!
@jonhenke1504, Which show did you attend? I saw them in the old Cleveland Municipal stadium June 25th 1977!! It was EPIC!! Surround sound WAS AMAZING!! They sold over 97000 tickets for that show!! There was reported aprox. 5000 to 7000 people at the gates watching and listening outside because they couldn't get tickets!! We talked to people from Buffalo NY; Detroit Mi.; various places from Canada etc. GOOGLE HOW THEY OPENED THE SHOW!!! IT involves their jet... GOT BANNED FROM PLAYING IN CLEVELAND for a few years for that stunt!!
This isn't just a one-off song either, 22:10 Pink Floyd is going to take you on a journey with just about any song you listen to with them! You should try Welcome To The Machine from the same album! Or maybe even the second half of this song? Try "Us and Them" or "Time" from their Dark Side of the Moon album!!! Every one of those songs will take you somewhere and you'll probably forget you're doing a reaction again!
I've always found this piece to be very moving. It was wonderful to see both of you so engaged in this music, and to hear your thoughts and impressions.
I think I'm going to enjoy your Pink Floyd journey. Dark side of the moon and Animals are albums for the ages. I seriously wish I could go back in time and listen to Dark Side of the Moon for the first time again. Maybe I'll be able to do it vicariously through both of you.
Floyd meant its fans to listen to their whole lps in one listen, so the moods multiply well beyond what you experienced here... This song is mainly about the links between genius&madness, as a beloved founding member of the group (SydBarrett) developed a serious mental disorder and was eventually (yrs before this album came out) dropped from the band. And, yes, we tripped heavy when digging Floyd's music, including when I saw the WishYouWereHere tour in 1974. Good times!
Ya know,@@DazzleMonroe, they WERE! Pot brownies all the way down from UCSB cuz the LAPD announced they were gonna crack down on smoking inside the helLA SportsArena... I was the only of my party that didn't nod out during the performance, which began with the entire DSOTM album (with accompanying film!) before doing the whole WYWHere lp. (I was gonna google it, cuz wasn't sure which mid-70s yr I saw it, but got lazy and got busted... Bummer!!!)
@@fredkrissman6527 I've got a friend with a gig diary, otherwise I'd get dates wrong too. I was at Earls Court in '81 for The Wall tour. I managed to convince someone else to drive so I could expand my mind. I dropped the acid in the pub before the gig and came up 10 minutes after the first chord. The rest is a blur
Pink Floyd picks us up and takes us into another dimension. Pause too much and you crash the ship. NEVER pause a David Gilmour solo. You will leave people stranded in another galaxy.
Back in the day, before we had mobile phones or the internet we listened to whole albums without a pause. It’s hard to do that now. Floyd wrote the book on journeys. You’ll freak if you listen to Time and Great Gig in the Sky from the epic Dark Side of the Moon album
@@johnkrauss3916 It wasn’t just the guitar playing, though. It was every minute or so, and then they talked for longer than the part they’d just paused.
Watching the two of you reacting to your first Floyd brings me back to the 70s...my best friend and I sitting in my room and listening to this on the record player, just completely entranced. Thank you for bringing me back to that wonderful place. I also love seeing the affection and respect that you obviously have for each other. I would like to say, Floyd fans can be mean spirited and absolutist about how they expect people to listen to Floyd’s music. However, listening to music is an experience that is as individual as the people that wearing the headphones. You’re the people feeling the music and you should experience it in the way that is natural to you. As long as you listen and actually FEEL, the artist would approve.
I was lucky enough to be in the Pink Floyd the Wall movie. Our school was part of "Another Brick in the Wall" Number1 single. My classmates are in the video. So cool. So funny enough I got hooked into Pink Floyd after my brief appearance in the movie - haha. One of the best bands ever to have existed.
Welcome to Pink Floyd!! They are legitimately one of the best bands that's ever been. Their music is highly emotional and cerebral and they incorporate many different styles in the music, such as hard rock, funk, blues, psychedelia, and folk, often in one song. They've also influenced every genre of music that's come after them. I very much hope you continue with Pink Floyd, at the very least check out the rest of Shine On You Crazy Diamond. 🌈💗
The author of the animation is Gerald Scarfe that also made animations for Pink Floyd: The Wall movie and created the concept of art for Disney's Hercules cartoon.
PF are the music to our lives from young to old, timeless. having seen them play live they were as good live as their albums are. same with Genesis. its music that has inspired the world and musicians. definitely good to listen to their catalogue old and new all are worthy in their own way. hearing you say you forgot where you were for a moment is what their music does to you, it takes you away into your imagination and memories and brings you back again even those of us who don't need drugs for it.
With all the way too many pauses, and all the chat about the video. I don’t think you heard the music at all. Next time you react to Pink Floyd you should really listen to the music, its some of the best music ever written.
Don’t listen to the comments, react how ever you want to react, don’t let people dictate how you should respond to a song. And don’t let these people put you off Pink Floyd, could tell you appreciated it musically
Best song ever to listen to if you've had a stressful day/week. Put on the headphones, slump into the beanbag, turn down the lights, couple bong hits, and just listen
My mom heard me playing this in my room and told me the beginning reminded her of something 'cinematic'. She's the one that got me into music listening to her old classical albums. It's fair to say the only 'official' Pink Floyd music videos are performance videos. I enjoy them most with my eyes closed when listening personally - not driving music.
Immediate subscriber here! Looking forward to following your Pink Floyd journey. You only get to experience them for the first time once! Next best thing is watching others experience the magic.
Yes you stopped often but it's great that you are listening to music that you are probably very unfamiliar with. Keep up the good work, lots of love from an old guy in Texas!
That album with the triangular prism that a ray of light passes through and breaks up into a rainbow is The Dark Side Of the Moon and the most iconic song from it is Time.
I can listen to the song anytime. Have for decades. But if you keep interrupting Pink Floyd and especially a David Gilmour solo you will feel the repercussions from many. I realize it's a reaction Channel, but... I'm only here because it was a UA-cam suggestion and it said Pink Floyd. And you would likly get many because of that. Or you could drive many away.
Pink Floyd was the epitome of Progressive Rock. Like The Beatles, they are in a liege of their own. All their albums are a trip that takes you on an amazing journey in your mind, you just have to close your eyes and drift, it's not just good music it's a whole experience.
Right! These comments on here would be enough to put someone off reacting to more of their music! Which is a shame because these 2 actually seemed fascinated and intrigued by the song
Listening to Pink Floyd is like dining on a gourmet meal, savour and digest, it's not a McDonald's meal deal, this is the real deal, something to be savoured, digested and enjoyed, don't rush it just enjoy!!😁🇬🇧
This was the first PF track I ever heard back in the mid 1970s at school. I love it. I can see I don't really need to comment on the number of interruptions, but, yes, too many, and never interrupt a David Gilmour guitar solo. I hope you haven't turned off the millions of PF fans that might otherwise have subscribed.
Don't. Stop. This song. A thousand times. It was created to be listened to in its entirety, and when you stop it every time you have a thought, you miss out on so much of that creativity.
I'm so very happy for you both that you have discovered Floyd. 🙏 Your insights as musicians throughout this vid were in my opinion cock on. I think that if you had prior understanding of the context of that piece your experience may have been improved a bit. I hope that you both enjoy your lufe long journey alongside music. Top vid. Blessings.
You don't listen to Pink Floyd , You experience them , Also the reason why they are truly the best is because they actually don't have a bad song, Each one is it's own vibe that paints a picture, You gotta dive into their work early and the later stuff. :)
SORRY…. BUT I CANT WATCH UR SHOW…. TOO MANY PAUSES YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, THEN RESPOND, I SUGGEST THAT YOU LISTEN TO THIS SONG ALONE IN THE DARK TO REALLY APPRECIATE THE MASTERPIECE THAT YOUR EXPERIENCING. THIS SONG WAS CREATED 49yrs AGO. I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK, ROCK ON 👊🖖
Hope that this song inspires you to make your own music. Happy to see that you both appreciated the complexity and feeling that their music always conveys. So much more to PK to discover you won't be disappointed.
I really enjoyed your reaction guys! This was a great introduction to PF and I hope you continue to react to them because you've literally opened the Pandora's box on a journey you won't forget.
This song was a tribute to former band member syd Barrett who suffered from mental health problems and the best way to listen to it for me anyway is lay on the bed lights out and chill 👍🏻
Although I agree that fewer pauses on Floyd gives a better experience, I can see the overall effect here was pretty much what most people get. I love watching new people discover PF! It has enriched my life and I hope it continues to enrich yours.
OMG, I know it's a reaction video, nobody pauses Pink Floyd for sure watch Comfortably Numb Pulse concert remastered, watch the the show, it's the best live show ever, you paid to much attention to the video Pulse concert
congratulations guys, great choice to start savoring and getting to know Pink Floyd. The cover of the triangle crossed by light that becomes colors, you are talking about the band's most iconic and best-selling album. The Dark side of the Moon is a must-have for every modern music lover. Shine on you crazy diamonds belongs to Wish you were here, for me these two albums are the best of PF. Symphonic, progressive, psychedelic rock. To listen to them, close the lights, light some candles and some sandalwood, close your eyes and let your mind fly and paint your own emotions. Thanks for your honest reaction . Keep on rocking guys ❤ Greetings from Barcelona
Was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd in 1977 in Chicago for $10.60 and they played this entire album along with Animals and the song Money for an Encore. Just Enjoy the Mastery! Many have enjoyed a bit of LSD or Mushrooms during their shows.
I remember the first time I heard this I was 14 over at a friend's half-baked he had the black lights and strobe lights sitting in the bean bag and he put this on
FYI....every sound is created by David with his guitar, or Richard Wright on one of his keyboards - there are no strings or wind instruments of any sort except the incredible sax solos by Dick Parry. This album was released in 1975 - well before most computer assistance - everything is analog and tape.
Love you guys. For a bit of background, this is about founding band member Syd Barrett who had been dropped from the band suffering severe mental health issues and the effects of drug abuse. Syd was dearly loved and missed, a really good looking talented guy. During recording, a fat bald guy, with shaved off eyebrows walked into the studio. It took several minutes before someone realised it was their friend Syd!
I def understand you guys have your own style and are a joy to watch. I love how you are having trouble finding the right phrase...I think "SUCKED-IN" is usually a good one. I implore you to listen to it, uninterupted and you will see what SUCKED-IN, means. Keep going guys. Try 1994 Pink Floyd PULSE concert of the song SORROW. You will not have words. I've been listening to them for almost 50 year. David's emotional guitarwork has no equal. He makes you feel things. Hard. His silky vocals and the rest of the band is just ridiculous. Best live sounding band ever. My opinion.
really enjoyed your reaction and I know all the Floyd heads are giving out about interruptions but what I want to say is that ye had a lot thrown at you on a first listen. but the thing with this music is that it's more than a listen its an experience that takes us outside of ourselves. This is some michellan star shit when we've been used to eating McDonald's
This was their opener of live pulse concert in 1994. The whole concert is off the chart, pick any song- they have more upbeat and ripping guitar. Truly every one on stage is master of their craft. The video does not do this song justice it’s a distraction for first timers. But great reaction I loved it.
We appreciate you guys’ criticism on this reaction having way to many pauses, going forward with Pink Floyd reactions in the future we’ll be sure to listen to the songs all the way through without interruption and then we’ll provide our thoughts afterwards, so that we’re able to experience the songs as intended.

Pink Floyd was the epitome of Progressive Rock. Like The Beatles, they are in a liege of their own. All their albums are a trip that takes you on an amazing journey in your mind, you just have to close your eyes and drift, it's not just good music it's a whole experience.
you cant go wrong with ANY Pink Floyd song really.
You don't listen to Pink Floyd, you _experience_ it.
When you learn the meaning of this song and rewatch the video you'll appreciate this even more if that's possible.
Gotta check this song out Live from the Pulse concert! The whole gig is amazing too, They were known for their stage shows.
welcome to pinkfloyd world nice reaction guys
Wow.... 10 seconds of music, 3 minutes if talking....
"That's a bold strategy, Cotton!"
Pink Floyd Laser Shows at the planetarium were some of my favorite memories.
To those commentiing - The Reaction channels can get into trouble with You Tube if the clips NOT paused.
Pink Floyd...pura belleza musical...MAESTROS.
Amigos,el video no hay que cortarlo tanto solamente de vez en cuanto.Los comentarios son para el final.
Beautiful music, distracting video.
To get the true experience...listen 1st...then discuss after this grand composition of excellence!
When you get time read the lyrics and figure out what they were wanting and why. Pink Floyd always has a meaning or hidden message.
Don't forget, these guys were only in their early to mid twenties!!😁🇬🇧
You only need to stop it 2 or3 times and I promise you they will not block it.
Lol you just discovered why it is said that you dont listen to Pink Floyd -- you experience Pink Floyde
Don't. Stop. This song. A thousand times. It was created to be listened to in its entirety, and when you stop it every time you have a thought, you miss out on so much of that creativity.
il y a bien trop d'interruptions pour pouvoir reellement s'impregner de ce chef d'oeuvre
Shine on Syd, wherever you are.
Intro is to get your soul ready for a Mind blowing experience.
The “Crazy Diamond” was their former bandmate, Syd, who was going through rough times.
video is distracting,,,better to just listen !
SORRY…. BUT I CANT WATCH UR SHOW…. TOO MANY PAUSES
YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, THEN RESPOND, I SUGGEST THAT YOU LISTEN TO THIS SONG ALONE IN THE DARK TO REALLY APPRECIATE THE MASTERPIECE THAT YOUR EXPERIENCING.
Discovery is awesome! You younger folks have an unbelievable trip ahead.
Keep on rocking guys
❤ Greetings from Barcelona
Was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd in 1977 in Chicago for $10.60 and they played this entire album along with Animals and the song Money for an Encore. Just Enjoy the Mastery! Many have enjoyed a bit of LSD or Mushrooms during their shows.
Ahoy, you have to watch this at the 'PULSE' concert 1994, all the songs are masterpieces
This intro gets a lot of appropriate comparisons to classical music, and is enjoyed by many classical reactors and composers, for obvious reasons.
My opinion.
¡Como podéis parar tantas veces ????????????????????????
really enjoyed your reaction and I know all the Floyd heads are giving out about interruptions but what I want to say is that ye had a lot thrown at you on a first listen. but the thing with this music is that it's more than a listen its an experience that takes us outside of ourselves. This is some michellan star shit when we've been used to eating McDonald's
Nothing you talk about is helping us,1976,it's an album we didn't have Attention deficit disorder, like most kids today
I think you guys would really appreciate Pink Floyd Pulse Live
This was their opener of live pulse concert in 1994. The whole concert is off the chart, pick any song- they have more upbeat and ripping guitar. Truly every one on stage is master of their craft. The video does not do this song justice it’s a distraction for first timers. But great reaction I loved it.
man jour lady did hear something that attach her to the song thats nice to see it. best forever
Now you need to check out classic "YES" songs. "And You and " is a great first pick!
