Great video! For all those that have never used a wheel and tire cleaner, if you scrub the tire and the soap turns brown, you need to do the process over until the soap stays white. That will remove all the brownish tint from the tire. As for tire shine, if you don’t like a slimy dressing, use a water based product. I use Adam’s tire shine, it doesn’t sling everywhere and is a great black matte finish that is dry to the touch. I’m sure Chemical Guys has something similar!!
We design the rubber compound for your tires to have an antioxidant package that gradually blooms to the surface and protects against UV. Which is why tires look a bit white and chalky. That’s the UV inhibitor doing its job. If you wash it off. Your rubber will age faster.
I watch your videos for the Jeep content, I stay till the end for the doggo content. I've gotten a lot out of your channel over the years. I bought a Rubicon sway bar, removed the non-working motor, and installed one of those hand turn unlock the sway bar units you showed on your channel at one point on my wife's Sport-S Gladiator. One of the best upgrades I did to that Jeep.
After years of various tire use, all 35” all on a ram 1500 of some year from 2014-2024 now on my new Rebel, the ridge grappler has been the best tire I’ve personally used for all around use. Great tire Nitto
You always produce such great videos, the production of your videos, and the filming is fantastic always have great content so grateful for all your hard work. Thanks for the info, Eddie and Cindy.
At the Overland West Expo I asked the Nitto representative about tire shine products on their tires and will it impact the performance when rock crawling. The representative shared they do not use tire shine type products on their tires when rock crawling. Did not asked about what they did to their tires when displaying them at events as I was only interested in performance of the tire when rock crawling. Sounds like the product you shared is more a tire wash than a tire shine, which is perfect for me. Thanks for sharing.
I use Tire Kicker from Chemical Guys to shine the tires after I use the tire cleaner, it’s water based so it doesn’t leave that sticky feeling but still has that UV protection. I also use it on my plastic trim pieces to help protect from fading too much. Plus the smell is incredible, not that that’s important but definitely a nice experience during the wash process. Hope this is helpful!
Not trying to be a troll but as a former installer of tires and wheels, @2:05 you have wheel weights that are counter balancing each other! You should have them remove ALL wheel weights then balance them again! Love your videos and what you do for the #Jeep community!
LOL - for all I care, you can be a troll all you want as I'm not the one who mounted these tires or did the balancing on them. Glad you enjoy our videos.
Regular wheel and tire cleaner with a drill brush does me pretty good or "the right stuff" cleaner is nice too ! and to give my tires a nice satin/fresh new tire look the lucas interior detailer (red bottle) and that stuff looks great i spray it on my wheels an tires and wipe it off and it makes my faded wheels look new and so with my tires 😁 As well happy new years y'all !
tire shine removes all the uv protectant from the tire which will cause the rubber to be broken down and crack faster in the sun, so you want to leave a little haze on them, at least thats what ive been told and ive talked to quite a few tire reps, while working in the industry.
Eddie , ever try the Chemical Guys New Car spray ? I use it in my Jeep and buddy i gotta tell ya , it smells awesome , and just a cpl of squirts last a long time . I luv it ,and ot keeps mine and my wife’s jeeps smelling fresh and new …
With a lifted Jeep, I like to have the inside sidewall looking good as well. What is the best/easiest way to have that clean nice inner sidewall look? I like to, as the manufacturer says, "spray on the love and walk away". I'm sure you know who that manufacturer is. I've been spraying on the love and walking away for many years.
Some of what you see are my go to cleaners and some of them are just what I still had in my cabinet. I'll try to make more videos that cover other cleaning tips.
Another great video. I have an embarrassing question. I disengaged from 4 lo to 4 hi going about 8 mph, no need to say my gladiator didn't like. It made a loud clunk, I came to a stop and started driving again. Went from 2 hi to 4 hi and 4 lo and all the back to 2 hi to see if the transfer case still engaged properly. Seems ok, but my question, do you think I damaged my transfer case or I'm ok... and I will never do a stupid thing like that again. Thanks in advance. Love your content.
Would a 2015-2017 Rubicon Unlimited 3.6 V6, with 2" lift and 35" tires, be sufficient to run with you guys? The one I'm considering also has XHD front and rear bumpers with tow shackles, a Rugged Ridge winch, XHD tire carrier, XHD snorkel, 19" LED ramp in the front and 48" on the roof. I will do a lot of onroad driving with it so I figured something like this would be a perfect medium.
Looking to change my tires in a few weeks on my 2022 Gladiator Rubicon any suggestions? Mostly sand and mud here in Florida. I do a lot of highway driving also. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ahahahahahhaa Pippy was like .....o heck no....that thing is spooky.
Being that you do a lot of pavement, I personally would recommend something like an all terrain as they will offer better fuel economy, be quieter and wear longer. I would recommend Ridge Grapplers but only if you can get it in a load range C. Depending on the size you're getting, they may only be available in D or E and that's a bit too firm for my taste.
@@wayalife I was gonna say cause I had a 20 Gladiator and I bought a 2021 high altitude Gladiator and they had different TMS sensors. And a couple weeks ago. I ended up buying a 2020 Rubicon gladiator. It’s pretty sweet first Rubicon for me.
Well, ideally, you want to keep your tires clean and with something like this and that will help them from blooming or to the point where it becomes very difficult to get them looking black again.
(automotive tech for 20 years. BMW master tech for 15.) Yikes counter balanced wheels 😬. That’s a huge no no in the automotive world. Whoever you had mount those tires don’t let them do it again. Especially considering these are a quality tire on a quality wheel and essentially a factory size. No excuse for that. If someone in my shop was discovered counter balancing tires they would be verbally reprimanded. And made to rebalance them properly for free.

The old Bleeche White, a good brush and a bucket of soapy water. Lot's of elbow grease.
At least a part of Pippi’s memory lives on…for now. Tires look awesome Happy New Year to everyone.
LOL - thank you.

thats interesting! .. So after cleaning we need to add UV protection .
Welp that kinda sucks…
I use Adam's Wheel and Tire cleaner on my 21 Power Wagon. After they are clean I use Adam's Graphene Tire Dressing. It leaves a deep black finish.
Simple Green is another FABULOUS tire cleaner as well, I am super OCD about cleaning my cars.

I have to agree, it's one of my favorite tires.
Cool. I’ll check that stuff out. I’ve been using a aircraft spec tire conditioner that also has no shine, doesn’t attract dirt and protects against Uv
That sounds legit. What's the product brand?
Now use Lemon pledge spray liberally use rag to massage into the tires let dry awesome protection for every day use.
I love their products. If you do want a shine or easy clean up, their VRP product is amazing!!
Adam's Graphene Tire Dressing is the way to go.
I use and love the Chemical Guys soft top cleaner and protectant.
Great Job!!!! I use Chemical Guys for most of my cleaning products and LOVE THEM!!!!! highly recommended!!!
Awesome! Glad to hear you like their stuff too.

Happy New Year, Wayalife Team! Let's have a great 2024!
Thank you and Happy New Year to you!
I hate tire shine, will have to check out that product. Thanks! 👍🏻❤️🇺🇸
LOL - glad I'm not the only one 😎
I stopped using tire shine a couple years ago. Hated the greasy feel on the tires. Will have to consider this. Thanks and happy new year!
Glad we could share this with you and Happy New Year!

I also use Chemical Guys waterless wash product when the Jeep isn’t all that dirty but needs a little attention. Always looks great!
yes, that is great stuff too.
I love Chemical Guys products. The rubber cleaner works pretty good

There is truth to what you've been told. It is the reason why I try to keep my tires clean using this process.
Jet seal car wax by the chemical guys is the best wax I ever used. All I do is spay my tires off with water. Though.
I cleaned my dirty tires with warm water and Dawn dish soap and it cleaned them really good with a scrub brush.
How long did they stay clean?
Thank you for sharing!
Hope you found this to be helpful 😎
Happy New Year 2024!

Great video. Can I do this with the tires in place on my vehicle as I don’t have the ability to pull the tires off?
Yes, absolutely
Happy New Year. Thank you for sharing, I too like the Chemical Guys products. Which tire cleaning brush did you use?
Glad you enjoyed the video. Regarding the brush, I got it a few years back at my local Autozone.
Never had a chemical guys product i didnt like.
Awesome! Glad to hear it :)

I think so too 😎

Yeah, I'm sure you're fine but definitely, you don't want to make a habit out of that LOL
Thank you for the reply. I feel a lot better. And I will never do that again lol.
for me its 50/50 hrad roads and dirt rodes, and the dust sticks to the rubber adnd turns mine brown

Oh yeah. Just came back from running our New Year Kick Off Run and there were several Jeeps with us that had that setup.

Do the tpms sensors work from the 2020 wheels to the 2023 Gladiator?
Unfortunately, no. Jeep changes the type of TPMS used on their vehicles sometime during the 2nd quarter of 2022.
I have a 2023 gladiator that i put 2020 gladiator rims on cant get tpms to work
There was a change in the type of TPMS used about the middle of 2022 if I recall correctly. You need the new ones to get it to work.
Bummer
I've used Chemical Guys products often, and liked them, but switched over to Griot's Garage. In my testing, Griot's outperformed across the board.
How does this do when dealing with tire bloom?
Well, ideally, you want to keep your tires clean and with something like this and that will help them from blooming or to the point where it becomes very difficult to get them looking black again.
What do you mean when the surface is hit it’s 46° outside right now hell the fog just burned of a few hours ago
LOL - when the rubber is even warm to the touch, the cleaner dries really fast and that makes it not work as well.
I have used 91% alcohol to clean mine for awhile gets everything off and looking new plus its pretty cheep.
My big issue with tire shine is that it stains the tires when they get dirty again. Does this issue have any sort of issue like that?
I have not had any staining with this product.
👍
I know this is going to sound crazy, but spray them with scrub and bubbles now, and let your mind to be blown.
shiny side up, how 70's 10-4 Good budddy......
LOL
❤❤❤😊😅
So…. When is this one getting a lsx? Hah!
LOL - not gonna happen on this one... or, so I think anyway 😁
