I personally can't stand I'm with Stupid. Patrick was so obnoxious in it. On par with some of the modern episodes. Also was never a fan of Grandma's kisses. I know the citizens of Bikini Bottom's whole thing is being a holes, but making fun of SpongeBob for loving his grandma? Hate it.
To be honest,I consider this episode just mediocre. I honestly don't consider any episode from the first three seasons bad and even the worst episodes from the pre-movie era make me laugh at least 1 or 3 times,and this episode is no exception. Plus:And I think I'm With Stupid is genuinely good too,Like I don't care for Patrick's cruelty in that episode and I think the episode executes his mean spiritedness in that episode well enough to be funny like a Edgy-funny.(The most annoying part of that episode would be Patrick's parents,who after seeing SpongeBob acting genuinely like a normal person, continue to treat Bob like an idiot.That was the genuinely annoying part of the episode for me.)

I will say that the Humpback Hop is one of the good aspects of this episode. That song is such a banger, the moment I heard the upload of the full song.
There's exactly a single good joke in that special. When Mrs Poof flips the window thinking it's a painting and SpongeBob is like "Yeah I don't even know what just happened"
3:02 11-year old immediately got the punchline that I'm With Stupid seemed to be going for when I first saw it. Patrick is so stupid that he forgot SpongeBob was only pretending to be stupid.
A simple fix could’ve been instead of the cops arresting SpongeBob for not inviting them to their party, they arrested him because they mistook him for a burglar who’s famous for committing home robberies while wearing a bunny suit and is coincidentally a sponge. Similar to the gag in No Weenies Allowed where the bouncer of the Salty Spitoon mistook a character similar-looking to SpongeBob for actually being SpongeBob except being reversed in this scenario.
The biggest difference between a bad episode today and a bad episode in the classic era is that even the bad ones from then have at least SOME semblance of humor.
I don’t hear people talking about this, so I am just gonna say it. The Season 3 Specials are very bad. For Ugh, it is just boring. For Party Pooper Pants, SpongeBob is very out of character (well at least he has a personality other than happy). And for The Sponge Who Can Fly, The townspeople are annoying and they try to enslave and kill SpongeBob. Honestly, I would watch the specials from Seasons 6-8 over the specials from Season 3. Frozen Face-off, The Great Patty Caper, and Ghoul Fools deserve much more respect.
The season 3 specials might be the weakest of the season but they are not that bad. Ugh has the “When Worlds Collide” song, a decent story and some decently funny jokes. While SpongeBob may be out of character in Party Pooper Pants, it doesn’t take up most of the episode and it is still incredibly funny. Not to mention one of the best songs come from this episode. I can kinda see what you mean with The Sponge Who Can Fly but the Patchy segments are incredible and it’s season 3 so it of course still has some hilarious jokes.
To me, I'm with stupid is one of the worst episodes. The whole family is obnoxious, Patrick completely backstabs Spongebob, who was literally just tryna help, and the worst part for me was how Spongebob just ran away and was gone for the rest of the episode, like Patrick didn't even apologize or anything. This was done so much better in Krabby Love, since at least it was actually FUNNY there, here you can't help but feel bad for Spongebob. And the twist that the parents were fake the whole time just felt lazy.
Ehh I know it’s trendy to try and find bad episodes pre-movie but the thing is... sorry but nope, I would still take the worst of pre-movie over 90% of the stuff post-movie. The difference in quality is that big and these videos are always reaching soooo hard to make them seem worse off than they actually are IMHO (Still a good watch but like, damn)
yeah the whole time i was waiting for him to get to the part where the episode is actually bad... 😭 the biggest issue he has with it seems to be that spongebob is acting a little aggressive and neurotic about his schedule but tbh i think the "excuse me i had laughing scheduled for 8:30!!!" types of jokes are hilarious. this video made me want to go watch the episode myself bc it looks entertaining. additionally, the alternative plot he gave about the chum bucket having more parties and getting more popular than the krusty krab isnt better imo because there are already sooooo many episodes about the chum bucket doing something better than the krusty krab and stealing their customers. i like the straightforwardness of this plot, its just about the party, and gets a good number of funny jokes in

The fact that I’d take any Modern SpongeBob episode over the worst Classic SpongeBob episode (Dumped) is pretty telling how too many people oversell the Classic era while being way too negative towards Modern SpongeBob.
I’m starting to get the suspicion that the late Stephen Hillenburg wasn’t always around even during his time as showrunner to oversee the quality of every episode and special and this special feels like one of them. I don’t want to immediately jump to conclusions considering Stephen was a great guy, but even he wasn’t perfect either and to be fair even the genuinely good cartoon creators can have their slip-ups. If he was still alive, I definitely would like to ask him this question: “How often involved were you during your tenure as show runner?”
I actually liked this ep since SpongeBob faces punishment for being an A hole and plays with his traits in a fun mean spirited way compared to the torture eps where he comes off as unaware and faces no repercussions
The way I like to illustrate it is: SpongeBob Season 4 wasn’t the start of bad episodes, as I counted 15 episodes I disliked from Seasons 1-3, but Season 4 was the start of REALLY bad episodes. Compare my least favourite Pre-Movie episode Party Pooper Pants as a 3/10, and my least favourite Season 4 episode Squidtastic Voyage as a 1/10. I think that shows what I mean.

Fun fact about SpongeBob's pet scallop: Spongebob did originally have a pet scallop in the pilot episode and even made appearances in early 2000's SpongeBob PC games. But it was explained in the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie PC game (I think? May have been Employee of the Month) that SpongeBob had his pet up until the events of the Movie Game (maybe) until he got out of his cage and flew out the window. Never to be seen again. Wild to me how they introduced a concept in the actual series and just wrote him off in PC point and click adventure games of all things.

In my opinion it just shows how desperate Nickelodeon is trying to remain relevant.
I still feel like the bad from classic SpongeBob has good jokes that don’t make it as bad as the bad from post movie SpongeBob. Like the worst pre movie episode is I’m with Stupid and even that episodes opens with the banger letter note gag. As for SpongeBobs House Party, yeah it’s pretty mid and the Patchy Segments carry imo. In general besides Christmas Who and Shanghaied, early SpongeBob specials weren’t too amazing.

Can we have your face on your butt for most of a video? If there's one episode I'd love for you to delve into, it's "Stuck in the Wringer", as this episode made me hate Patrick, and quite honestly, question why SpongeBob is even friends with the guy. Patrick is at his worst in this episode, all of his "attempts" to help his friend only make the situation worse, and he's completely apathetic to the pain and misery SpongeBob is in. But what really makes my blood boil is when SpongeBob understandably lashes out at Patrick for ruining his life, and Patrick is treated like the victim and the townsfolk are so callous to SpongeBob and have the nerve to say he deserves his fate. Excuse me? I know the townspeople are known to be mean, but this is just flat out cruel. An innocent sea sponge deserves to be crippled for the rest of his life because he yelled at the prick who GLUED him to his wringer! We just see SpongeBob enter a state of depression, with a lazy cop out ending of tears melting the glue, with the notion "crying makes everything better" nonsense. If I wrote the episode, I'd have SpongeBob cut ties with Patrick, calling him a horrible friend, with the townsfolk taking his side, and SpongeBob going off either to the hospital, or to see Sandy and have the wringer removed from his body, with Patrick alone and friendless with the weight of his actions coming down like a ton of bricks on his head and realizing that he's a callous and destructive idiot who didn't deserve SpongeBob's friendship.

I honestly think Club SpongeBob is a good episode. Like,a lot of people complain about the fact that this episode is a Squidward torture,but in this episode I kind of don't care much precisely because the jokes are so strong and the episode works very much like a classic Looney Tunes and Woody Woodpecker episode:in other words,mixing mean-spirited humor with Slapstick.

My only problem with modern SpongeBob is the face humour. I hate face humour and every line in modern SpongeBob is delivered with a goofy face. They always made silly faces but it’s way overused now
It can be used in a good way. But the issue is that a company is trying to make comparable humor to fan animations. The latter being more funny in most cases due to how exaggerated the joke itself is on top of the stupid face. Not that there aren't creators who don't use them excessively, but in the cases that aren't, they're a good laugh.
Then I sure hope you stay away from Ren and Stimpy. As someone who likes both shows, I think face humor can work well, but SpongeBob is definitely not the franchise to adopt this style of humor...
Personally, I don’t really agree with ANY this, i like all of classic SpongeBob. And that’s just my personal opinion, obviously no one has to also think that. The only episode I can’t really stand watching would be Wormy, like that episode seriously scarred me 😂💀
Pointing out a few weaker episodes I'd rather watch than some of the modern episodes where brain dead is the norm feels like a point in classic era's favor. Like yeah, not perfect, but the quality is still far more consistent in the early seasons and weaker episodes still had some good jokes.
This is definitely my least favorite classic episode. Granted, it has far more funny moments than most bad modern episodes do, but SpongeBob is absolutely insufferable here.
I’m with stupid is a example of a bad early spongebob episode. The main problem I had with was Patrick at first he was fine he was scared to meet his parents and spongebob being the good friend he his wanted to help. But then Patrick took things too far thinking that spongebob was not pretending to be dumb and it got to the point were sponge couldn’t take it and run away. Patrick was the main problem with this episode.
The Patchy segments reminded me a lot of another, older Nickelodeon show called Weinerville. I loved that show when I was like 7 so that's probably why I'm so fond of the Patchy parts.
Sugestion:Well,l would love it if you made a video talking about your favorite Bronze Age episodes {Or Dark Age episodes} of the show (Seasons 6-8),a top10 would be really cool.😊
I think even the creator of Spongbob said he was afraid that the show would "Jump the shark." Which is why he eventually left as showrunner after season 3. After he made the Spongbob movie, he basically wasn't involved apart from reviewing episodes after season 3. I think Spongbob could still maintain good quality episodes if they reduced the amount of episodes so they can focus on making better stories.

I really don’t like Jellyfish Jam lol. I think it’s such an overrated episode because absolutely nothing happens in it. It’s not funny and I genuinely get bored while watching it. Stadium Rave is the only reason people like it, and I agree it’s a fine song, but I don’t think it saves the episode. The episode is just filled with scenes that drag on and on. Squidward is completely pointless because you can remove all his scenes and the episode would be no different. And newsflash, a jellyfish who does nothing but dance for an entire episode isn’t a very interesting premise. Also the final song is kinda mid. The fact it’s so simple isn’t the problem, it’s the execution. There’s extremely simple episodes like Bubblestand and The Paper which are far better because they actually have tons of jokes and gags that are… y’know funny. And they at least attempt to add some substance in terms of story. Plus the dynamic of SpongeBob and Squidward (and Patrick) is far more interesting and funny than SpongeBob and a mute dancing jellyfish.
Season 3 is probably my favorite of the pre-movie seasons, but Party Pooper Pants feels kind of like a season 4 or 5 episode with better jokes. Spongebob is super obnoxious and unlikeable, and not in a fun way. I feel like Spongebob wouldn't care as long as people were having fun. Patchy is great though, and Underwater Sun is one of the catchiest and best songs in the series

ok, I had a defense for "SpongeBob's house party", after having a somewhat similar situation earlier this month, i could totally relate to SpongeBob, as someone who's a bit of a dork just like him (clearly) micromanaging and panicking over little things in social situations especially when you're in "a leadership role" such as panicking because someone shows up a few minutes late, and especially with you being responsible for it, can be super overwhelming, and of course he's naive, but he also clearly doesnt understand social cues, taking his friends not following the book, since he doesn't understand how to have a party, as an offense to him, which i find to be pretty in character for him, but i totally understand the frustration because I remember hating this episode when i was younger but now that i can kinda see where he's coming from and now im understanding of his character more, so i still really enjoyed it.
Honestly I feel like SpongeBob as a show is a mixed bag. People only remember the high points from the early seasons and due to confirmation bias think that the show is just that good all the time, but there's plenty of trash episodes in the early bunch- and, equally, some pretty great episodes in the quote-unquote "modern slop" people complain about so much. I think most people just don't want to admit that their childhood had some flaws, honestly- there's this very weird holier-than-thou culture of people who only watch/remember the classic episodes.
For the majority, yeah. If you can have a conversation with someone who is a real fan, they are willing to criticize the first three seasons. Not to confuse this with saying you're automatically a bad person if you don't see imperfections in what you like. But rather, if you project that idea into others, it becomes a problem. The conversation won't be fruitful and all you're doing is ejecting insults so often that the feces flinging monkeys at the zoo look more civil by comparison. At least they're having a good time well doing that.

Hot Take: Season 3 is the weakest season of the first three. I do quite love it very much but its definitely my least favorite of the first three. "House Party", the episode with a muuuch better patchy segment than the boring, flanderizing-full main plot of "The Sponge Who Could Fly", and the boring pointless "Ugh" hold it back just a *slight* bit from Seasons 1 and 2 for me. Season 3 has some of the best episode of the show though. But Seasons 1 and 2 have only one episode I do not like.

I can agree on that. As a matter of fact there are TWO classic Spongebob episodes that made it on my top 25 worst Spongebob episodes list, those being Sandy's Rocket and Mermaidman and Barnacleboy IV. And I probably should have also included Gary Takes a Bath.
Ok I gotta be real but it is kinda hard to make a SpongeBob episode 22 minutes to a 44 minute runtime. Because in a way SpongeBob is one of those shows where it a slice of life shows and those shows are kinda hard to a made tv movie for them since you need to think about how you could use that time for. Now I’m not saying all SpongeBob specials are bad some turned out really good like Christmas who, Dungeons & Dragons, and Big birthday blowout. Even though those turned out good the rest not so much like party pooper pants, ugh, and the sponge who could fly and even the rest of the 1 hour special like truth or square and Atlantis Squarepantis. All turned out flops because they didn’t know what to do with there run time.
Please don't watch Awe. He doesn't really make good SpongeBob content and all his videos his just him purposely hating on the Post-sequel era just for content. Also, there's totally nothing wrong the exaggerated faces from Seasons 10 and onwards. There are a few channels who does cover the Post-sequel episodes who does a good job covering them without having to bash on it just because it isn't like Pre-movie.
Spongebob's House party always reminded me of an episode of Winnie the Pooh where Rabbit tried to throw a party for a bunch of tiny white rabbits. And much like Spongebob. this episode also revolved around Rabbit trying to follow a schedule for a party and yelling a lot.

Yeah, Even as a little kid who loved Spongebob to death, I never liked this house party episode. The Patchy segments were funny, and the character's interactions were a treat to see, but the way Spongebob bossed everyone around was just unpleasant. I get that he's likely hosting a party for the first time, and being naive is part of his character, but that doesn't excuse what a jerk he was.
I could understand his reaction more if he was at first very sweet, but the party just escalated and got so out of control characters were making a huge mess and maybe even breaking things. Like it was just too many people and got too wild of a party, and he snapped because it's still his property, and some people party so hard they trash someone's house. SpongeBob is a very organized character, and it'd be understandable for him to get ticked off that his house was being wrecked.
That meme about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is so true. I had a lot of fun in that game my only gripe is accidentally wandering into an area you have no business being in and losing instantly because you're level 20 and the enemy is level 50 but that's what having a legitimate open world you can freely explore can do to ya. Also Pokémon walking around in real time? Awesome. Graphics don't MATTER

I don’t hear people talking about this, so I am just gonna say it. The Season 3 Specials are very bad. For Ugh, it is just boring. For Party Pooper Pants, SpongeBob is very out of character (well at least he has a personality other than happy). And for The Sponge Who Can Fly, The townspeople are annoying and they try to enslave and kill SpongeBob.
Honestly, I would watch the specials from Seasons 6-8 over the specials from Season 3. Frozen Face-off, The Great Patty Caper, and Ghoul Fools deserve much more respect.
Like I said, if Mr Krabs was the host of the party event instead of SpongeBob, it would make some sense.
The season 3 specials might be the weakest of the season but they are not that bad. Ugh has the “When Worlds Collide” song, a decent story and some decently funny jokes.
While SpongeBob may be out of character in Party Pooper Pants, it doesn’t take up most of the episode and it is still incredibly funny. Not to mention one of the best songs come from this episode.
I can kinda see what you mean with The Sponge Who Can Fly but the Patchy segments are incredible and it’s season 3 so it of course still has some hilarious jokes.

Party Pooper Pants has the worst pacing I’ve seen in a pre-movie episode.
To me, I'm with stupid is one of the worst episodes. The whole family is obnoxious, Patrick completely backstabs Spongebob, who was literally just tryna help, and the worst part for me was how Spongebob just ran away and was gone for the rest of the episode, like Patrick didn't even apologize or anything. This was done so much better in Krabby Love, since at least it was actually FUNNY there, here you can't help but feel bad for Spongebob. And the twist that the parents were fake the whole time just felt lazy.

Ehh I know it’s trendy to try and find bad episodes pre-movie but the thing is... sorry but nope, I would still take the worst of pre-movie over 90% of the stuff post-movie. The difference in quality is that big and these videos are always reaching soooo hard to make them seem worse off than they actually are IMHO (Still a good watch but like, damn)

yeah the whole time i was waiting for him to get to the part where the episode is actually bad... 😭 the biggest issue he has with it seems to be that spongebob is acting a little aggressive and neurotic about his schedule but tbh i think the "excuse me i had laughing scheduled for 8:30!!!" types of jokes are hilarious. this video made me want to go watch the episode myself bc it looks entertaining. additionally, the alternative plot he gave about the chum bucket having more parties and getting more popular than the krusty krab isnt better imo because there are already sooooo many episodes about the chum bucket doing something better than the krusty krab and stealing their customers. i like the straightforwardness of this plot, its just about the party, and gets a good number of funny jokes in

I’m starting to get the suspicion that the late Stephen Hillenburg wasn’t always around even during his time as showrunner to oversee the quality of every episode and special and this special feels like one of them. I don’t want to immediately jump to conclusions considering Stephen was a great guy, but even he wasn’t perfect either and to be fair even the genuinely good cartoon creators can have their slip-ups. If he was still alive, I definitely would like to ask him this question: “How often involved were you during your tenure as show runner?”
Or maybe he was human like the rest of us and missed sometimes?

I actually liked this ep since SpongeBob faces punishment for being an A hole and plays with his traits in a fun mean spirited way compared to the torture eps where he comes off as unaware and faces no repercussions
The way I like to illustrate it is:
SpongeBob Season 4 wasn’t the start of bad episodes, as I counted 15 episodes I disliked from Seasons 1-3, but Season 4 was the start of REALLY bad episodes. Compare my least favourite Pre-Movie episode Party Pooper Pants as a 3/10, and my least favourite Season 4 episode Squidtastic Voyage as a 1/10. I think that shows what I mean.
Season 4's first half was honestly one for one with Season 3's latter half. But as it went on the season brewed up more bad episodes
S4 shows a descent from that 1-3 quality, but I don’t think the show is bad or ‘turn the channel’-deserving until s6.

Fun fact about SpongeBob's pet scallop:
Spongebob did originally have a pet scallop in the pilot episode and even made appearances in early 2000's SpongeBob PC games. But it was explained in the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie PC game (I think? May have been Employee of the Month) that SpongeBob had his pet up until the events of the Movie Game (maybe) until he got out of his cage and flew out the window. Never to be seen again.
Wild to me how they introduced a concept in the actual series and just wrote him off in PC point and click adventure games of all things.

In my opinion it just shows how desperate Nickelodeon is trying to remain relevant.
I still feel like the bad from classic SpongeBob has good jokes that don’t make it as bad as the bad from post movie SpongeBob. Like the worst pre movie episode is I’m with Stupid and even that episodes opens with the banger letter note gag. As for SpongeBobs House Party, yeah it’s pretty mid and the Patchy Segments carry imo. In general besides Christmas Who and Shanghaied, early SpongeBob specials weren’t too amazing.
Season 4 is when the specials REALLY started to get good.

If there's one episode I'd love for you to delve into, it's "Stuck in the Wringer", as this episode made me hate Patrick, and quite honestly, question why SpongeBob is even friends with the guy. Patrick is at his worst in this episode, all of his "attempts" to help his friend only make the situation worse, and he's completely apathetic to the pain and misery SpongeBob is in. But what really makes my blood boil is when SpongeBob understandably lashes out at Patrick for ruining his life, and Patrick is treated like the victim and the townsfolk are so callous to SpongeBob and have the nerve to say he deserves his fate. Excuse me? I know the townspeople are known to be mean, but this is just flat out cruel. An innocent sea sponge deserves to be crippled for the rest of his life because he yelled at the prick who GLUED him to his wringer! We just see SpongeBob enter a state of depression, with a lazy cop out ending of tears melting the glue, with the notion "crying makes everything better" nonsense.
If I wrote the episode, I'd have SpongeBob cut ties with Patrick, calling him a horrible friend, with the townsfolk taking his side, and SpongeBob going off either to the hospital, or to see Sandy and have the wringer removed from his body, with Patrick alone and friendless with the weight of his actions coming down like a ton of bricks on his head and realizing that he's a callous and destructive idiot who didn't deserve SpongeBob's friendship.

My only problem with modern SpongeBob is the face humour. I hate face humour and every line in modern SpongeBob is delivered with a goofy face. They always made silly faces but it’s way overused now
It can be used in a good way. But the issue is that a company is trying to make comparable humor to fan animations. The latter being more funny in most cases due to how exaggerated the joke itself is on top of the stupid face. Not that there aren't creators who don't use them excessively, but in the cases that aren't, they're a good laugh.

Pointing out a few weaker episodes I'd rather watch than some of the modern episodes where brain dead is the norm feels like a point in classic era's favor. Like yeah, not perfect, but the quality is still far more consistent in the early seasons and weaker episodes still had some good jokes.
This is definitely my least favorite classic episode. Granted, it has far more funny moments than most bad modern episodes do, but SpongeBob is absolutely insufferable here.

I’m with stupid is a example of a bad early spongebob episode. The main problem I had with was Patrick at first he was fine he was scared to meet his parents and spongebob being the good friend he his wanted to help. But then Patrick took things too far thinking that spongebob was not pretending to be dumb and it got to the point were sponge couldn’t take it and run away. Patrick was the main problem with this episode.

The Patchy segments reminded me a lot of another, older Nickelodeon show called Weinerville. I loved that show when I was like 7 so that's probably why I'm so fond of the Patchy parts.

I think even the creator of Spongbob said he was afraid that the show would "Jump the shark." Which is why he eventually left as showrunner after season 3. After he made the Spongbob movie, he basically wasn't involved apart from reviewing episodes after season 3. I think Spongbob could still maintain good quality episodes if they reduced the amount of episodes so they can focus on making better stories.

I think it’s such an overrated episode because absolutely nothing happens in it. It’s not funny and I genuinely get bored while watching it. Stadium Rave is the only reason people like it, and I agree it’s a fine song, but I don’t think it saves the episode. The episode is just filled with scenes that drag on and on. Squidward is completely pointless because you can remove all his scenes and the episode would be no different. And newsflash, a jellyfish who does nothing but dance for an entire episode isn’t a very interesting premise. Also the final song is kinda mid. The fact it’s so simple isn’t the problem, it’s the execution. There’s extremely simple episodes like Bubblestand and The Paper which are far better because they actually have tons of jokes and gags that are… y’know funny. And they at least attempt to add some substance in terms of story. Plus the dynamic of SpongeBob and Squidward (and Patrick) is far more interesting and funny than SpongeBob and a mute dancing jellyfish.

Season 3 is probably my favorite of the pre-movie seasons, but Party Pooper Pants feels kind of like a season 4 or 5 episode with better jokes. Spongebob is super obnoxious and unlikeable, and not in a fun way. I feel like Spongebob wouldn't care as long as people were having fun. Patchy is great though, and Underwater Sun is one of the catchiest and best songs in the series

ok, I had a defense for "SpongeBob's house party", after having a somewhat similar situation earlier this month, i could totally relate to SpongeBob, as someone who's a bit of a dork just like him (clearly) micromanaging and panicking over little things in social situations especially when you're in "a leadership role" such as panicking because someone shows up a few minutes late, and especially with you being responsible for it, can be super overwhelming, and of course he's naive, but he also clearly doesnt understand social cues, taking his friends not following the book, since he doesn't understand how to have a party, as an offense to him, which i find to be pretty in character for him, but i totally understand the frustration because I remember hating this episode when i was younger but now that i can kinda see where he's coming from and now im understanding of his character more, so i still really enjoyed it.

Honestly I feel like SpongeBob as a show is a mixed bag. People only remember the high points from the early seasons and due to confirmation bias think that the show is just that good all the time, but there's plenty of trash episodes in the early bunch- and, equally, some pretty great episodes in the quote-unquote "modern slop" people complain about so much.
I think most people just don't want to admit that their childhood had some flaws, honestly- there's this very weird holier-than-thou culture of people who only watch/remember the classic episodes.
For the majority, yeah. If you can have a conversation with someone who is a real fan, they are willing to criticize the first three seasons. Not to confuse this with saying you're automatically a bad person if you don't see imperfections in what you like.
But rather, if you project that idea into others, it becomes a problem. The conversation won't be fruitful and all you're doing is ejecting insults so often that the feces flinging monkeys at the zoo look more civil by comparison. At least they're having a good time well doing that.

@AscendedEmperor I still prefer the older ones, but one of my top favorite episodes comes from season 6, one of the most disliked seasons. I can't dislike JKL. But season 6 has the infamous toenail gore.
However on the other hand, that doesn't excuse the fact that modern spongebob completely lost its charm annd clever writing, sure there are some decent episodes, but most of the time they are trying too hard to make memes instead of actually making good stories.This is why people miss classic spongebob even with its early flaws.

Hot Take: Season 3 is the weakest season of the first three. I do quite love it very much but its definitely my least favorite of the first three. "House Party", the episode with a muuuch better patchy segment than the boring, flanderizing-full main plot of "The Sponge Who Could Fly", and the boring pointless "Ugh" hold it back just a *slight* bit from Seasons 1 and 2 for me. Season 3 has some of the best episode of the show though. But Seasons 1 and 2 have only one episode I do not like.

Ok I gotta be real but it is kinda hard to make a SpongeBob episode 22 minutes to a 44 minute runtime. Because in a way SpongeBob is one of those shows where it a slice of life shows and those shows are kinda hard to a made tv movie for them since you need to think about how you could use that time for. Now I’m not saying all SpongeBob specials are bad some turned out really good like Christmas who, Dungeons & Dragons, and Big birthday blowout. Even though those turned out good the rest not so much like party pooper pants, ugh, and the sponge who could fly and even the rest of the 1 hour special like truth or square and Atlantis Squarepantis. All turned out flops because they didn’t know what to do with there run time.
I don't think this episode is bad. It isn't as good as other classic episodes, but it still has funny moments.
Please don't watch Awe. He doesn't really make good SpongeBob content and all his videos his just him purposely hating on the Post-sequel era just for content. Also, there's totally nothing wrong the exaggerated faces from Seasons 10 and onwards. There are a few channels who does cover the Post-sequel episodes who does a good job covering them without having to bash on it just because it isn't like Pre-movie.
Finally someone who understands!! I like season 9 and onward, AKA the modern/HD and season 11 is my favorite season from the HD era.

Spongebob's House party always reminded me of an episode of Winnie the Pooh where Rabbit tried to throw a party for a bunch of tiny white rabbits. And much like Spongebob. this episode also revolved around Rabbit trying to follow a schedule for a party and yelling a lot.
I don't even think Party Pooper Pants is the worst Season 3 episode, that dishonor goes to the Great Snail Race.

Yeah, Even as a little kid who loved Spongebob to death, I never liked this house party episode. The Patchy segments were funny, and the character's interactions were a treat to see, but the way Spongebob bossed everyone around was just unpleasant. I get that he's likely hosting a party for the first time, and being naive is part of his character, but that doesn't excuse what a jerk he was.
I could understand his reaction more if he was at first very sweet, but the party just escalated and got so out of control characters were making a huge mess and maybe even breaking things. Like it was just too many people and got too wild of a party, and he snapped because it's still his property, and some people party so hard they trash someone's house. SpongeBob is a very organized character, and it'd be understandable for him to get ticked off that his house was being wrecked.
Eventually we’ll get 5 minute spongebob episodes and they’ll release the remaining parts over 8 months later

I like 1-10 after that there are also some great ones
But after that there is just spongerot
You should check out the episode "The Clash of Triton." It's a really bad special from Season 6 about Neptune's son.
I dont mind Party Pooper Pants because I had the dvd version for it and saw it many times as a kid. It's nostalgia that shields the flaws for me
Honestly this is the only episode from classic SpongeBob that I have never seen before. Guess I wasn't missing much.
