Is your avatar used in the video based off of Ralsei? I'm wondering because I heard field of hopes and dreams in this video as well and I didn't think it was a coincidence.
I heard that Disney parks can be a NIGHTMARE to wander around in nowadays. Heard so many horror stories. I'm curious about Cartoonshi's trips now that I''ve seen that footage.
Honestly I wouldn’t care less about Disney falling to ruin, the only thing I feel bad for are the people who are treated poorly and genuinely wanted to create good art.
!!! I can’t imagine how many people have good ideas for 2d films, or even just good 3d original concepts, but whose ideas are also shut down or watered down
I do too. I hate it when people are not allowed to make a great film simply because a film studio could "no longer afford" to take a risk on any new ideas, which is a nonsense excuse when reusing old ideas already lost them even more money.
I feel like another thing that has killed the Disney magic is with how bad they treat their audience. Like how they wanted to sue a grieving father for using Disney on his childs grave, or how they are now in a legal issue with a grieving husband.
I think we owe Nintendo an apology. Because at least they let those fangame creators and SML live. Also it really isn’t as bad as they say, it just isn’t, there’s a lot of stuff Nintendo hasn’t taken down that’s been around for many years. Please shut up about the Nintendo copyright jokes.
@@Cubeytheawesome Buddy no offense but I think YOU brought up Nintendo and you tried to shut yourself up there my guy. I mean I agree Nintendo’s bad but like that’s not in the discussion rn lol
@@TheIrreverentUncleAl He just mad that Disney sued a father because of the Disney content on a Childs grave. Nintendo is not likely to do something like that???
@@orangeslash1667 Disney pressured the United States to pressure Japan to extend its copyright term. Europe had already extended its own copyright term in 1993.
You know what's a really hard movie to watch these days? The Reluctant Dragon, knowing full well what the studio itself would do to the very medium it demonstrates to you.
@@DaTrainMan If we can't get 2D back, I wish we could at least have 3D be, ya know, stylized, cause it is animation, why would you have an animation about boring looking humans when it's a lot cooler having a movie about, I dunno, Penguins with Le Big eyes or something.
Disney has become an example of "falling upwards". They are objectively floundering in just about every aspect, and yet they're still the biggest monopoly we have in Hollywood. It's fascinating, depressing, but fascinating.
@@kaiyote7924 Oh yeah, i dont remember the full details, but a woman died by allergies cuz of Disney, and when the husband wanted to sue Disney, they said he cant sue them since he agreed to the Terms and Services on Disney+ in 2019. Just wild shit, Disney deserves to put in the dirt and just stop ruining its legacy for a quick buck
I cannot imagine how all the animators and storyboard artists and character designers and everyone else involved in the filmmaking creative process must feel about all this. Imagine dreaming all your life of working for the biggest and most respected animation studio in history, you work your ass off to get there, you MAKE IT, and you're forced to put out soulless cash grabbing SLOP, and forced to say youre proud of it.
Honestly, I don't have that much sympathy. Disney has been terrible for animation and for culture since about the 50s. There were always better, braver, more innovative animators out there (Bakshi, Bluth, basically anything from Japan). Disney just had the money and clout to force their way. They've always been a massive, amoral, all-consuming bully of a company. Wanting to work for them to make art is like wanting to join Raytheon to help the Middle East...
Modern Disney really is the purest definition of "quantity over quality." Their output is well above any other company in the media entertainment industry, but the enjoyment of that output is probably the lowest it has been in a while. They're being desperate with Marvel, Star Wars is currently on fire, and the animation side is constantly having to share the spotlight with needless live-action remakes. It's genuinely one of the most depressing sites in current pop culture.
The most notable examples is Star Wars. Back then every release of Star Wars media is always a special event that occasionaly appeared in many years but now they're churning every media their had in every year regardless of quality itself to the point they caved in all by themselves. And not to mentioned too much depend on a previous success like the past characters and stories to the point it lost of its specialty of their stories
That does not mean Disney has a strict rule against creativity and originality! Which are both foundations that made most older Disney movies and shows a big classic success to begin. Making new animated film properties that are more interesting than Strange World and Wish, and not trying to bury animated films by wasting money on live-action remakes would both be huge steps in the right directions, but they can not turn the whole tide in a couple of years.
The results of Inside out 2's success are purely frustrating. It's a movie with genuine thought, and care put into how it expands on the original movie. It has an individual flare just like the movies that the corpos are carelessly dumping onto streaming services. It's how sequels SHOULD be made. Yet the suits at the top think it's only making money because it's a sequel despite LITERALY EVERYTHING ELSE saying that isn't the case. The worst part is that the original movie might have never even existed in the first place if they had their current mindset in 2015.
Exactly. It's for this precise reason that I'm of two minds about the success of Inside Out 2. On the one hand, it genuinely deserves the praise it's getting, because it's a good movie. On the other, we all know they're just going to take the wrong message away from this. So many sequels are in production right now between Pixar and Disney, we're essentially heading into a whole sequel era that we're going to be stuck in for years. Aside from Elio, I don't think there's a single original story in production from either studio right now. It's going to be all sequels from here on out for the foreseeable future, and that's worrying - not only because it's preventing original stories from being greenlit and given a chance, but also because sequels always have a chance of tarnishing the legacy of what came before. The very thought of Toy Story 5 is groan-inducing.
@@maxsteellatino3241 Oh, yeah, I suppose there's those. I guess Pixar does still have a few original stories coming up, but those may have been in production for a while now. And after the success of Inside Out 2, the studio may double down on focusing more on sequels. I'm pretty sure Disney only has sequels planned for the foreseeable future, so they've already pivoted further in that direction.
@@AuraLeafstorm Certainly Win Or Lose has been in production since 2019-2020, Hoppers probably since 2022, but that doesn't mean the studio is going to stop making original productions just to focus on sequels, what many didn't understand is that Pixar said it would drop movies inspired by the directors' personal lives, like Luca, Turning Red, Elemental, to focus on movies that appeal to all kinds of audiences, like those from its golden age, so they will still continue to make original movies, with some sequels in between.
@@maxsteellatino3241 On that topic, I don't think it's a good idea to discourage writers from letting their own personal experiences influence their writing. That's kind of the point of art; exploring the human experience in abstract ways.
I laughed at the "Disney magic illusion", because you are 100% correct. I'm glad this didn't end up being another "Old Disney good, new Disney bad" video. Disney has always been greedy, but the quality of their movies hid that, and people could not see what a dystopian nightmare the studio actually was. But as the quality went down, the veil lifted.
Every company is messed up. I don't know one company that doesn't have any disaster. Big companys get bigger and gets more people but the bigger the company gets the more greedy or messed up people want to join.
@@Stew91 You could say that about almost any company. DreamWorks is regarded as the anti-Disney, and yet they've also started exploring live action remakes and the like, same with Netflix. Being a greedy company is not exclusively a Disney thing.
I talked to my friends about how Disney was making a Toy Story 5. I told them that the plot of the movie was going to be about the toys vs the Ipad and my friends all groaned. Their response is pretty accurate. It is really necessary to make a 5th movie, especially knowing what happened at the end of the 4th movie?
Ong. Anything after a trilogy is just bound to be awful. Not surprised they’re fighting the fucking ipad kids lol. The franchise is just trying to get with the times now or something its bad
Disney is digging their own grave, it’s just sad to see this company fall so hard from grace. So many sequels are coming out now. Some are kinda unnecessary. Toy story 5, Frozen 3 and 4, Zootopia 2, Incredibles 3, and even a live action movie of lilo and stitch.
As much as I love seeing Disney go downhill, it’s honestly kind of sad because it used to be a beloved company who’s movies were loved worldwide and are still iconic to this day
The truly creative people in the studios are powerless, it's the CEOs and executives making the wrong decisions because they have no idea what art is and what audiences actually want. Just look at the production ideas and concept art of Wish and compare it to the final product. Disney executives are killing their own company
@@SigmaAirplaneBalls What made Disney so important back in the 90's, is that no one could compete with them, Anastasia was the only one that came close. No more live action remakes. No more mass produced content. No more greed. No more hard deadlines. No more subscriptions. No more bad writi- I think I'm out of ideas on what to fix Disney.
Also stop taking IP from other companies and ruining them let the creators of their respective IPS do what they want with their movies shows and comics and their characters
I've said this once and I'll say it until the sun becomes cold: either they do something completely new that blows people's minds like how the first Spider Verse movie did or they'll be left in the dust by everyone
@@mushroomfusion245 Without Spider-verse, we wouldn’t get creative visuals like The Last Wish, the Bad Guys, Mutant Mayhem, and much more. Well I agree that the praise for Spider-verse has basically become meat-riding at this point, with fans constantly comparing 3D animated works with similar styles. But it also happened to make people take animation seriously after so many years, so I’m thankful for that.
@@mushroomfusion245 I mean, it kinda was. Singlehandedly re-invented 3D animation and broke every boundary. Most importantly, it showed studios that there's actual monetary incentive to be innovative and risky instead of just following the same safe formula over and over again out of fear of bombing. That was probably the most important contribution of that film: it showed big corpa that risky, weird, out-there content CAN be succesful, which is why more and more studios have been pumping out similar styled-content.
Went to Disneyland in Paris recently and that was the most Disney magic I have felt in years. Unfortunate that I couldn’t fully enjoy myself though given how abhorrent Disney as a company is today.
I definitely don’t feel that Disney Magic in the American parks anymore. It was there back in the 50’s-90’s but it’s taken a free fall in the late 2000’s and throughout the 2010’s and 2020’s. That spark is still there in other Disney Parks outside America like Paris and Tokyo, but it’s still a reminder that the Disney brand is still attached to the foreign region parks.
I think Walt Disney would be ashamed of the state of his company just for the fact that they just denied someone money after killing their wife at a restaurant and the staff being told not to include dairy products, the wife having an allergic reaction, and the company taking no responsibility saying just because the husband signed up for Disney+ that automatically makes any points invalid (This is real and it happened this year)
@@sheeeenogoji7603 What made Disney so important back in the 90's, is that no one could compete with them, Anastasia was the only one that came close. Nowadays there is way more competition, making it difficult for Disney to take risks.
Notorious union buster Walt Disney would probably not be upset that his company was trying to keep as much money as possible regardless of how many people got hurt in the process. Let's not pretend that he was a good guy or his company ever operated with morality in mind.
You know which Disney movie has become very hard to watch these days? The Reluctant Dragon. We don't talk enough about how hard it is to watch a love letter to the process of Disney animation while knowing Disney would throw all of it in the incinerator just for further profits.
If that's a love letter to Disney animation, then *Home on the Range* is a "dear John" letter and *The Princess and the Frog* and what should have been called *Winnie the Pooh and the Backson* are failed attempts to rekindle that doomed romance.
Why have actors when you can have dogs? That's basically what Disney thought when making the "Buddies" franchise. Those movies were made for orphans to watch and clap at in the orphanage (No offence to the person above me, just trying to make a point that I don't really like the franchise as a whole)
I'd compare this to their "straight to video sequels" era. Mass production with as little effort put into the products as possible, desperately trying to turn a profit. The difference is they weren't pouring the GDP of small countries into every production back then.
The difference is those direct-to-video sequels were being produced by Disneytoon/DTVA, not the main studio. The main studio was still coming out with high-budget original content with each release. Because of that, the direct-to-video sequels were all easily ignorable; they weren't replacing anything, and the fact that they also never went to theatres means they left less of an impact on the cultural zeitgeist. Nowadays they're typically only referred to collectively, as people reflect on how bad they were. The only ones that tend to be talked about individually are the ones that people actually kind of like - The Lion King II and 1½, Aladdin and the King of Theives, An Extremely Goofy Movie, Stitch Has a Glitch, etc. The era we're currently entering has the potential to be so much worse, because now the sequels are being produced by the main studio. Now the sequels ARE replacing production and release slots that would have otherwise gone to original stories. In fact, there seem to be no original stories in production at all right now at Disney, only sequels. That means it'll be years before the studio releases an original story again. We're entering the sequel era. Even Pixar is shifting towards focusing more on sequels now, although they still have a few original projects in the works (Elio, Hoppers, Win or Lose).
There was still some good STV, like Tarzan and Jane, was solid, not amazing, and got us the Tarzan series which is good series. The Lilo and stich two movie, which also got us the fun lilo and stitch series... Lion King 2 and 1 and a half, Cinderella 3. also were all pretty good.
Another further problem with Disney+ is that apparently when you sign up for it, you lose the right to sue Disney, apparently, A woman DIED because of the negligence of a waiter/chef at Disneyworld and now her husband can't sue them FOR KILLING HIS WIFE!?! I know this isn't related to their movies but really goes to show how the company does even not care for their own paying customers. They NEVER will care, even if you pay them for it.
You can even apply this type of stuff to any subscription plans because why should we spend our money trying to watch entertainment buying food or buying furniture listen to music or even buying vehicles when that stuff should be free and accessible for everyone and also what type of change do the subscriptions even do if anything they are controlling what we want to watch what we want to buy and just what we own some of us might even forget to even pay for them anyway
If Wish was actually hand drawn animation instead of cheaping out on a shitty filter, people probably would still be willing to give Disney a chance, but they chose not to, so we choose not to
And keep in mind they changed the cool star boy to Luma from super Mario galaxy because “the kids will love it” Also WHY DIDNT THE GOAT HAVE RECTANGULAR PUPILS?!?!?
@@Cubeytheawesome Wish was doomed from the start. The film is meant to celebrate the 100th anniversary, but that means you can't delay it to fix story problems that may appear during production. In other words it's the movie version of Sonic 06.
Its also pretty frustrating that Disney Television Animation, who has been one of the few departments of Disney that is bringing out great shows such as The Owl House, The Ghost and Molly McGee, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and among other shows. And yet they're only met with slaps in the face and a lot of time get cut short because Disney would rather focus on Marvel and Star Wars slob that everyone is sick of. Its not like they don't want to make creative stories, it feels like the Walt Disney Company is actively going against creative stories because they're not profitable enough
Honestly I remember DuckTales 2017 being very strong but then it fizzled out because halfway through season 3 they got notice that that was the last season So the finale ended up feeling halfbaked at best And complete nonsense at worst
Even Walt Disney, who, was a rather shady man when you look at various parts of the company's history, atleast kept the company together. He wasn't making every single movie by himself, but he was involved in a way. Most of the stuff disney has now, well, the magic is basically gone.
And when you look into his history, sure, he had his faults, but he was clearly passionate about his studio. Hell, he wanted to get more involved with the making of his films around the 60s, before his tragic death in 1966, because of the time he spent away sorting out Disneyland and he had regained his spark for animation that fizzled out after the strikes in 1941.
People really like to see Walt as someone better than he actually was. Walt was a greedy and corrupt bastard who was a perfect example of what was really going on, behind the Disney illusion.
I wasn't allowed to watch Disney as a kid because my parents had a problem with "the false happiness" they were portraying. Wonder if I was a kid today, what my parents would think of me watching Disney.
@DrawciaGleam02 my parents weren't fans of Disney's "happy go lucky additude." they thought it was fake/ unrealistic/too girly. If I wanted to watch a cartoon as a kid, generally, Nickelodeon was my go-to Channel. From Rugrats to Rocket Power.
@DrawciaGleam02 I'm not sure. Even though Disney is shit nowadays, it did have some bangers I'd like that I'd watch in secret. The proud family ,lizzie mcguire, kim possible. Disney WAS great when it was just a company making quality cartoons instead of pushing their bullshit woke propaganda on children nowadays. Disney was ok, I guess. But Nickelodeon will always have my heart because that was my childhood. 90s Nickelodeon . That happy go lucky thing Disney was going for just feels fake ( to me and my parents), but even nickelodeon is shit nowadays because of cartoons like breadwinners, pig goat banana cricket, and henry danger. It just doesn't hit the same. Disney (and Nickelodeon) is like that friend in high school who had all the girls and the best grades, and years later, you found out they fell off hard and got into drugs, gangs, etc. "Wow, you fell off, man. What happened to you ? You used to be so much cooler, " The only thing that happy go lucky thing really goes for is Nintendo with the Super Mario Bros franchise tbh
People have told Disney over and over again that if you don’t start coming up with original stories with actual storylines like they did back in the day it’s going to effect them as time goes on. And Disney obviously doesn’t care at this point. They want the money but don’t wanna actually have to work for it. Which is why every time they start pumping content out most of it flops because their focused on quantity over quality . Unless they start putting work again into creating ACTUAL original storylines and remember why their company got popular in the first place. Their going to continue losing money and fans and eventually just fade away.
But would that mean Star wars would have their rights back or marvel having their rights back or every other company that Disney owned at this point and maybe someone can just reboot everything before Disney got their hands on these companies why do you know feeling excited to watch marvel again or Star wars again or just anything that is not Disney
Adults used the excuse "it doesn't have to be good, it's just a kids film" and now exclusively watch kids films. Even R films are often kids films with gore and swearing.
Lockdowns were perfect for Marvel to reboot. They just finished the infinity saga, and lockdowns gave them more time to think of a plan. Instead, they choose not to reboot and just tried to make movies with no proper overarching story.
I remember as soon as I saw that Incredible 3 was announced I yelled out the most angry “F** NO”, it is one of the most blatant cash grabs I have ever seen.
It may sound kinda weird to say this, but Disney is doing with its franchises the same thing they did with Power Rangers in the 2000's. Context: In the early 2000's Disney bought Power Ranger from Saban, proceeded to not market it, and tried to end it multiple times (Wild Force (their first season), Dino Thunder, Operation Overdrive, Jungle Fury and RPM)(yes they tried cancelling it 5 times). Each season the executives would make budget cuts, dismiss staff requests, and justify it with "Power rangers only was good in the 90's and doesn't have any appeal anymore" and, after they bought Marvel, with " We already have a toy franchise for boys in Marvel, why would we support Power Rangers ?" (actual quote from an executive) . However, since the team involved with Power Rangers was very dedicated, they would innovate and create new solutions, resulting in good ratings, which, in turn, made Disney not cancel Power Rangers, but every time when a new season was greenlit, executives would do the same things all over again with the objective to run the franchise to the ground. The signs for this Disney quality issue were always there, as a company, Disney has the habit of buying intellectual properties, running them to the ground with bad marketing and executive meddling, and then abandoning them afterwards (Never forget that PIXAR started out as an INDEPENDENT studio and only was integrated/bought into Disney in 2006). The worst part is that their solution to this problem isn't to reflect on their business practices, but to buy other franchises and make the same mistakes over and over again. And because they have the money/monopoly over the industry, they can keep this awful circle alive.
Yeah man because power rangers of the 90s used to appeal to the type of people that were born in this time when I first watched it I don't really hate the power rangers like that at all it just never grew on me like that nor I didn't know Jason David Frank's death but you know what power rangers could focus on now they can focus on making cartoons about them or even a power rangers anime or especially a reboot that is made for PG-14 to rated r where we are no longer just stop to episodes that don't go anywhere or characters never actually developing we would have something akin to what DC and marvel has made for their characters that they are more than just a 1D character because after all a 3D character has much more complexities then a 1D unchanging character because that's what most power rangers in the 2000s to the present was after that they just recycle the old formula until it lost its appeal and I would even recommend reading the power rangers comics from boom studios and they did a great job of giving them a continuity making their characters much more complex and actually adding tension to their stories and even made their universe/multiverse much more interesting that all the shows we have pale in comparison
I remember ABC Kids. They usually rerun a lot Disney Channel shows on Saturday mornings before its downfall during the 2007-08 schedule until it ended on August 27th, 2011 since they aired the same episodes as it was selected by the Standards and Practice Division for educational purposes. RPM was exclusively to their block as Jetix/Toon Disney became Disney XD at the time it was released. And also there was a re-version of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back in 2010 since it was their last straw of the Disney era of Power Rangers.
I swear big corporate executive people like that must've actually sold their soul to the devil or something, it is concerning just how SOULLESS and un-human they are.
I'm surprised you haven't talked about the downfall of Disney TV networks, which adds more salt to the wound. But then again, it all just boils down to they just don't care about their TV networks anymore, so they're not even "magical" on cable TV anymore. Thanks again, Disney+ 🙄
Like most money hungry entities, Disney has reached the points where they A.) believe they feel they are entitled to your money and (B.) do not have to do anything to earn it. The next step is to continue doubling down on their entitlements; signs of this being the whole "we aren't responsible for your death because you signed a contract", but that's just the beginning.
What about the Disney-Fox assets acquisition? When that happened, people back then already had concerns about Diseny owning everything. Look at their assests (as of 2024) ABC, ESPN, Hulu, Disney Channel, Marvel Studios, Star India and 20th Century Studios (it was renamed to avoid confusion with Fox Corporation). I think Disney also tried to buy BSkyB in the same year, but Comcast bought them out.
I even remember seeing a meme back when that happened that was something like: "The year is 2024 Disney owns everything on the planet, even the government You decided to stop praying to Mickey Mouse, and you have been sent to a work camp to pay for your crimes *Insert a picture of criminals on their knees in a prison in the middle of the night with armed guards wearing Donald Duck and Goofy helmets * (Idk if I wrote that right I'm spanish)
I've been a Disney fan since I was younger, but Disney has become so desperate and incompetent that it makes me feel less excited about some of their future projects. That's why I'm supportive of other animation studios, like DreamWorks, Sony Pictures Animation, Studio Ghibli, and Netflix, as well as indie animation.
People just want good content. When people say super hero fatigue. The eternals, black Adam, and the flash were bad and yet The Batman did well at the same time. Disney needs better movies for people to watch.
Yeah honestly why do these remakes even exist when they should continue to make original and new films or even introduce new ideas that we never expected before and honestly the 2019 Lion King just isn't as good for me as the anime version of it that I watch and honestly are the kids going to care about these remakes they'll probably get bored to death by the time they finish watching this stuff and those extra hours are just being wasted just for useless story elements that don't matter
The remakes are just shit, if they wanted to remake their animated movies, they could have remade them in 3D and put them on disney+ on their anniversaries as a tribute to them, not remaking them in a format they weren't made for and making stupid story changes
@@Walupeach4528 If by 3D you mean computer animation, I couldn't disagree more. Traditional animation shouldn't be replaced by computer animation. The traditionally animated films don't need to be remade at all; not in live action, and not in 3D. Remaking them insinuates there's something outdated about them, but they still hold up just fine.
@@AuraLeafstorm now I have one idea for this instead of Disney remaking their original films why not have someone else like a different company make these fairy tales movies that are accurate to the book and then you can change the range to PG-14 to r18 at least for those that have actually read the books which are a lot more dark and deeper then what Disney has made it would be great if someone does pick up those books and then turn them into a movie form that is accurate to it
The sad thing is that the "we need more original stuff" is just a vocal minority, or they can't actually commit to it. So many people want an end to sequel/remake slop but will give their money to see said sequel/remake slop, even if they know they won't like it, because yes, even going to the theaters to watch something you hate gives them money. TL;DR: Sail the seven seas and start pirating all the sequel and remake slop being pushed out, or just don't watch it at all, and support original projects from smaller production companies and artists.
I’m open to piracy, but the websites I use are filled to the brim with constant ads and porn links. And buffering. I wanted to watch My life as a teenage robot, but I gave up after the start of season 3 because of all the buffering and ads.
This is just what happens when buissnes thinking overrules creative thinking. They think its possible to engineer a formula that guarantees everything they make will be successful but thats not how the creative process works. Theres always a risk and good likelihood that the content they make is going to fail, but for whatever reason they're way too scared to take risks. It doesen't even make sense, since they're argubaly in the best position to take creative risks and potentially make a wildly successful movie/tv show in the process, but instead they try to play it safe and this is the result.
it sucks that corporate zombies like that are on charge of CREATIVE and ENTERTAINMENT companies. Art is all about innovation, about breaking the boundaries and doing something new, art is about revealing unique perspectives and exploring human imagination. Good art is not repeatable, you have to innovate based on the current trends. There isn't one specific formula that will make something succesful, it will depend on the needs of each era. Look at Ultrakill, or even Faith. In an era where most videogame companies only care about graphics and predatory microtransactions, New Blood Interactive manages to find MASSIVE success by publishing videogames with PSX and even Atari-like graphics, very unconvential gameplay styles and jarring storylines. Kevin Lerdwichagul, one of the CEOs of Glitch Productions, once stated during a livestream that their secret to success is to "simply let the animators do their jobs. Just give them the resources and creative liberty, they know better than I do. I just let them do their thing and I don't intervene" or something along those lines. IF ONLY disney had that same mentality...
they don’t even need to try anymore. its terrible, they can just make sequel movies until the end of time that can have the same level of quality as Megamind 2 and people who wouldn’t know the difference between good and bad movies wouldn’t bat an eye. they’ve become too big
Fr. I wonder who these people are that are actually feeding into this low quality content tho. Because they are also playing a part in making Disney believe sequels and reboots are the only option
You KNOW your company is in trouble when Deadpool literally makes fun of it for a whole movie. Also Hugh Jackman’s abs are the only thing keeping this company from bankruptcy.
I talked once about how I hate live adaptation remakes to the songs, cause half of them ruin it entirely with the celebrity being the only singer (the only exception I could find was will smith in Aladdin, those songs were REALLY good)
@@dxitydevilor better yet Disney could just re-release these movies and then they'll still be making a good amount of money that they have ages ago then they do with their remakes that just bastardize of what made the originals good
It's not just a Disney thing anymore. Netflix is making a lot of live action remakes, and DreamWorks is making a live action version of "How To Train Your Dragon."

i’ve found myself watching a lot of 2010s era disney vlog content lately just to relive that feeling of being excited for big animated movies and park updates again. i had always wanted to do the wdw college program after graduation so i could be around that ~magic~, but by the time i was able to apply they had kind of made it a paid mystery box and having a lack of time to prepare for whatever job they gave me was part of the reason i couldn’t go. i’m the biggest disney fan in my family and it’s been really sad to see how steep everything has dropped off in the past few years. :( i think the last time i truly looked forward to something from them was frozen 2. i don’t even want a third one
It's less that we're tired of Disney. We're just tired of the schlop that they've been shoving down our throat for the last decade if they could you know go back to making good movies like they used to no one would be complaining
If Disney could recreate the success of the Disney Renaissance by actually creating films of that caliber again, a lot of people would absolutely be back. But that would require creative risk, which seems to be absent presently - especially considering we now seem to be (unfortunately) heading into a sequel era.
It's Straight-to-Video 2: Electric Boogaloo (This Time, It's Theatrical) Though weirdly enough, unlike Iger, Eisner even at his worst and most money-grubbing still tried to keep the "magic" façade as best he could within the company. It really is ironic that the studio ousted him for quote "diminishing the integrity and quality of the brand" with his decisions, despite how much money they were making, and yet his successor seems determined to actively spit in the Disney family's face for ever trying to fight for that. Even more ironic, him coming back to the brand after Chapek in order to "maintain his legacy" ended up resulting in the most creatively bankrupt and loathed future for the Disney company. Seriously Cartoonshi, you want a wild read? Check out "Disney’s wildest ride: Iger, Chapek and the making of an epic succession mess"; you'd be surprised how much of what you've said here are knock-on effects directly tied back to the pure comedic incompetence on display in that article.
I'd honestly rather go back to the straight to video stuff as long as it was 2d. Not all of it was bad, and what was bad was valuable fodder for UA-camrs to make fun of. The stuff Disney puts out now isn't even fun to mock, it's just sad.
For me I don't like going to theaters often, the only time I go is when I have been waiting on a movie for a while and am ready for it to come out. Right now I'm waiting for the Mononoke movie to release in America but that's it, I don't feel motivated to see anything else let alone Disney movies
I'm old enough to have seen Disney movies and parks at their best in the 1980s and especially 1990s, and it doesn't even feel close to being the same company as it used to. There isn't even a pretense of there being a human touch on things anymore, despite Josh D'Amaro trying to come across that way. Just pure corporate, made by committee and algorithm junk. I don't think I'd miss it all if Disney spontaneously shut down tomorrow. I can already watch the good stuff that came before, I don't want or need anything else from them anymore, unless it's unique or original, which isn't going to happen.
I mean, yeah, they aren't woke, but it feels like they were throwing in one more thing to make a recipe that pushes away the most people at once. Remove the soul, try your damnest to kill your franchises, and then push away half of whoever is left in the audience. It's like they hate money.
@@someprofessonalname2008yeah it is true that a lot of Disney fans are morons who keep falling for this right-wing culture nonsense, I’d hate it if my feed kept reminding me how pathetic they are too.

What's kinda sad is, if it weren't for Kingdom Hearts, I'd most likely have no interest at all in Disney now. I don't actively seek it out anymore, I don't have nostalgic ties to it-- its really just Kingdom Hearts I'm all here for ooof
I miss 2D animation! I wish Disney would do it again and adpt stories from Romania, Italy or other countries. Would be more interresting to see than Moana 2, Toy story 5 and Frozen 3 😐 My idea for a Disney movie; A brother and a sister wants to help their sick mother but doesn't know how. The kids are suck into a magical world where everything they imagine becomes true. At first, both are happy and imagine talking animals; became friends with them. The two are slowly forgetting their mother. The animals remind the kids of their parent, both leave the magic world. The sibblings learn that being with the people you love is what matters! There's no villain, just good animation and music as well as a cute message about family; it's in 2D too!
Studio Ghibli releases a movie every 5-10 years because Hayao is someone who doesn't really care if the film makes money, he wants his audience to see what he sees. He's not a saint. He overwork his team sometimes and I'm sure money is important. But he was also part of one of the first animation unions in Japan and understands why animation shouldn't be chugged out every year to make recording breaking money. In his documentary, you even see him cook for his team! And EVERYONE (even after Hayao is gone ) will know his work without having to make billions and gazillion of dollars.
Disney is very obviously losing a lot of what makes it special while the companys staff can still make some good s*** every now and then they'll starting to have larger gaps in between the good stuff and here's something that I noticed a lot of the very good stuff tends to be original animated TV shows which is just funny to me because last time I checked Disney are known for their movie
I'd honestly be really surprised if there was a single person out there who isn't feeling fatigued of Disney in one way or another. You can feel that even people who are usually offline and don't pay attention to news about the company and such just don't care about Disney movies as much anymore.
You hit the nail on the head for Star Wars and Marvel for me. After Endgame especially, I just didn’t have the energy to keep up with every show on top of the movies and I didn’t want to spend money on another streaming service when I don’t have a kid that would demand it. All the stories are so basic now it just feels like a waste of time when I could find something with more creativity and passion on UA-cam
It's about time they got karma after cancelling so many amazing shows, and crushing so many animators and artists' dreams. I just miss what Disney used to be...
Cars 2 is PEAK and everyone that over-hates it just has no childhood wonder and whimsy left in them. That movie was MY childhood, mald all you want, it was the greatest thing ever.
_Going to_ Disneyland for the first time is actually what made me lose the rest of my Disney magic lol. Paying $30 for a microwaved burger and standing in line for an hour per ride. That's not magical.
It's easy to forget how many people genuinely enjoy and look forward to disneyland trips. To me it just seems like such a dystopian over-stimulating nightmare, but it's crazy to believe that you're in the MINORITY for not liking disney parks. The places just seem miserable, but I guess some enjoy it.
I remember reading a comment from someone who was SO HYPED to go to Disneyland when they were a kid. However, after having to wait in long lines and barely going on any rides, they angrily told their father that "The TV lied!"
Its more a “bad content” fatigue, for every good movie like Guardians 3 or Deadpool 3 there’s half a dozen flops or every Disney Plus show losing money cuz the service isn’t profitable
The other sad thing is that so many studios followed after them and the corporate moves they made that has resulted in cinema as a whole taking a drastic downturn. Instead of trying their best to reject Disney to do their own thing, they're either bootleg at best and completely consumed at worst.
as a disney fan myself (of their movies, not their decisions) i hope that the company someday takes a turn for the better, maybe a new executive takes over who makes more ethical decisions. as for the quality of their movies, i hope that improves too. i've dreamed of working there, making something important, and while that is something that might not happen, it's why i pursue animation.
It’s crazy how before Disney + Disney actually had its shit together but it’s tetherhold for it’s streaming service allowed the company to make absolutely stupid decisions with itself
The only Disney movie I am anticipating is Elio. Only because it has the same animation style as Luca and nothing with that animation style has disappointed me personally.
I think a big thing is also that kids (generally) don't want their parents' nostalgia repackaged and sold back to them. Kids generally like having their own unique movies and shows to eventually feel nostalgia about. For millennials it was the Disney renaissance, for gen z it was Frozen and the other 2010s revival films, and for both gens it was the various successes constantly getting pumped out of Pixar and Disney Channel...for gen alpha, meanwhile...the closest comparable new generation-defining thing I think Disney has is Bluey, but Bluey isn't even made in-house. It's only a Disney thing due to licensing agreements, and it could eventually break free from the Disney brand and still be a juggernaut. To a kid born in the late-2010s or early-2020s, Disney is something your parents hype up. With how much new options there are for entertainment, it's unlikely to be a brand a modern kid reaches for organically without their parents purposefully putting it on for them, and that will just generally make it seem uncool.
After Iger leaves, they need to go back at what Walt would do. Champion originality and try new things again. The decade of Eisner-Wells can not be replicated as greed, selfishness and modern fads show how most companies are out of touch with what the general public. Social movements, NFTs, AI, cinematic multiverses. It is basically the shiniest new toy on the block that every kid wants but neglect the real golden goose that made their business valuable.
Honestly, Zootopia 2 is one of the few Disney sequels that makes sense because you CAN still do so much with the idea. I've seen the trailer for Moana 2 a few times, either because of theater previews and what not, and I cannot for the life of me remember a single thing from that trailer because it is so much like the first one, and I think it's because the first Moana's story was already explored well enough that there's really nothing much more to go off of. With Zootopia there's still potential of seeing new quirky characters in this big city that the film takes place in.
Fr. The ability to make a sequel really just depends on the universe that movie takes place in. Which is why sequels for EVERY movie are just unnecessary and unwanted. Inside Out 2 and potentially the Zootopia one have some good ideas behind them

@@ewanherbert3402 Dude I get your coming from but animators don’t really have other choices.

@@AuraLeafstorm Hoppers? Win Or Lose? (This last one It's a series, but is still an original production).

And those sequels are still leagues better than anything we have now.
There was still some good STV, like Tarzan and Jane, was solid, not amazing, and got us the Tarzan series which is good series. The Lilo and stich two movie, which also got us the fun lilo and stitch series...

Honestly I remember DuckTales 2017 being very strong but then it fizzled out because halfway through season 3 they got notice that that was the last season
So the finale ended up feeling halfbaked at best
And complete nonsense at worst
Walt would be so disappointed at the current state of Disney
Even Walt Disney, who, was a rather shady man when you look at various parts of the company's history, atleast kept the company together. He wasn't making every single movie by himself, but he was involved in a way. Most of the stuff disney has now, well, the magic is basically gone.
don't sugarcoat it he would have a heart attack
@@ukaszwalczak1154He had his hand in almost every project.
Oh really? I heard some people had Disney movies banned due to magic being used. I'd love to hear more about your folks' dislike of Disney.
@@Matthew-cv4on
Is it fair to assume that your parents preferried the Grimm versions of fairytales then?
@DrawciaGleam02 I'm not sure. Even though Disney is shit nowadays, it did have some bangers I'd like that I'd watch in secret. The proud family ,lizzie mcguire, kim possible. Disney WAS great when it was just a company making quality cartoons instead of pushing their bullshit woke propaganda on children nowadays. Disney was ok, I guess. But Nickelodeon will always have my heart because that was my childhood. 90s Nickelodeon . That happy go lucky thing Disney was going for just feels fake
( to me and my parents), but even nickelodeon is shit nowadays because of cartoons like breadwinners, pig goat banana cricket, and henry danger. It just doesn't hit the same. Disney
(and Nickelodeon) is like that friend in high school who had all the girls and the best grades, and years later, you found out they fell off hard and got into drugs, gangs, etc. "Wow, you fell off, man. What happened to you ? You used to be so much cooler, "
The only thing that happy go lucky thing really goes for is Nintendo with the Super Mario Bros franchise tbh
Sometimes their more original ideas are better than the finished product like wish supposed to have a villain couple instead of just the king.
Boomers dumbed down the criteria for what constitutes adulthood, and this is the end result.
Disney needed a year like 2023, they need humbling to let them know that they aren’t the hot shit they think they are
Lockdowns were perfect for Marvel to reboot. They just finished the infinity saga, and lockdowns gave them more time to think of a plan. Instead, they choose not to reboot and just tried to make movies with no proper overarching story.
It's kinda crazy seeing how corporate and soulless something can be over time, just a shell of it's former self
Fun Fact: The current state of streaming wouldn’t be as bad as it is now if it weren’t for Disney+
So I guess Disney+ was the equivalent of an unwanted child.
Exactly.
People don't have "Disney fatigue" they have crappy Bob Iger Disney fatigue.

I even remember seeing a meme back when that happened that was something like:
"The year is 2024

I've been a Disney fan since I was younger, but Disney has become so desperate and incompetent that it makes me feel less excited about some of their future projects. Honestly I am tired of the remakes, I don't know anyone else who doesn't share my opinion

Though weirdly enough, unlike Iger, Eisner even at his worst and most money-grubbing still tried to keep the "magic" façade as best he could within the company.
Eisner didn't give a damn about Disney's magic. The reason the Renaissance was successful is because of Roy E. Disney.

I miss 2D animation! I wish Disney would do it again and adpt stories from Romania, Italy or other countries. Would be more interresting to see than Moana 2, Toy story 5 and Frozen 3 😐
My idea for a Disney movie; A brother and a sister wants to help their sick mother but doesn't know how.
They shouldn’t have killed off 2D animation. All of their best work was in this medium, apart from some of the early Pixar movies.

Its not, to me, that people are tired of disney
They’re just tired of mediocre too bad entertainment
