The three of them together again looking a little older. Then they hit that 3-part harmony and it’s the old magic that has returned. These kids literally grew up together. Thanks for coming back!
I cannot with this band. Nickel Creek - the combo of you 3 will NEVER be beaten no matter how much time passes. Please continue to give us an album once and a while. Your talent together isn't matched and those of us that are fans will never be satisfied. WE LOVE YOU.
I was going to comment exactly that.. they are unbelieveble and their music style seems to be that kind of music that makes you expect that almost everyone would enjoy.. idk why people didnt praise this band.
@@brunomartinello1114 I think they had a great deal of success. As a sound engineer, I had the chance to work with them years ago at a major festival when they were on the way up. It was only a couple years later they achieved crossover success with "The Lighthouse's Tale". Remember, though, that it wasn't very long after that, that Thile went his own way (I have no idea why they broke up, I assume they wanted to go in different directions musically). So, it might be fair to say, they kind of killed their own momentum. But, they are a great group, and good people. I suspect they are doing alright.

I first heard this song on Prairie Home Companion 20 years ago - it's just as haunting and beautiful as ever, and age has only helped them become more mature as players and singers. So glorious. "Shake fists at the sky."
Yes, the Watson sibs both set a bar for humble genius. And yeah, Sean is surely a super-sleeper and team player too so,💯. btw, I'm posting in Oct 2022 and IMO this country needs Live From Here to return for a dozen or more reasons. (artists understood) And feel free to tease me for posting that this or that broadcast was special. C'mon, aren't they all??
@@johncmitchell4941 “And we have in birthdays this week …” That was a great segment where the musicians explored different genres and celebrated other artists.
Have followed you guys from the beginning and this was a favorite then, but this is such a fantastic rendition-your maturity acquired since those days shines through in so many respects: the instrumentation, the vocals - and when you bust into the chorus it’s like wow, we’re home.
WOW!!! That brings back a lot of memories, had the pleasure of seeing them do a show at The Freebird Cafe' in Jacksonville Beach, Florida many years ago. Drove up from Daytona Beach, saw the show and drove back home, 88 miles one way. But it was well worth it. I cannot think of one song of theirs I do not like.
The sad truth: “LIVE FROM HERE” was one of the most unfortunate entertainment casualties of the Pandemic. They did not restart again…. Lord, I LOVED this show! 😢❤

@@Tubie1111 no, disagree. I'd say her pitch is the top notch. Thile is the mandolin virtuoso who's a decent singer but not even in the same league as the great folk and bluegrass tenors,.what's more he says so himself.
Love this. I'll never forget y'all playing on a side stage at the Robert Earl Keen Texas Uprising and Swine Soiree (!) in California in the early 2000s. Absolutely stole the show in a stacked lineup.
The way the songs just falls apart... i swear i saw this group at my high school cool around 1997. I like a few of their tunes but this live clip was really good

One of my favorite things is Sara's note at 1:26 and 2:37 on "rea-SONS." I have ALWAYS thought this was a Db instead of a C. On the record it's hard to tell which one it is; she kinda slides it. But here it's clearly a C. Such a key part of the song. Really changes it for me after knowing this song for over 20 years.
Soo many things, here. Directly after Sean's solo, Sara raises her bow to keep the crowd down... Like, "Yeah, that was good... Watch this!" And then, Chris goes TF off like only he could! But, he leads the band into this incredible quiet out, looks back to Sean and all 3 just giggle like school girls... "Yeah, we just did that..." I had to watch it a few times to catch it, bc it's soo subtle. Ugh! Music!

For those who felt like crying during this song, you are not alone. It gets me every time.

Fell the same way. So friggin magical
THUMBS UP FOR SEAN WATKINS 🔥🔥
Incredible guitarist. And why doesn't he sing lead? He has such a nice voice.

I want to cry. This is gorgeous. So glad to see them performing together again.
This is what falling in love with a song feels like.
Great to see subtle differences that come with their musical maturity that make a great song even better.
Great to hear sean voice & guitar for once!
They totally didn't get the recognition they deserved.
No they did not

Kudos to the sound mix engineer for herding three very dynamic voices into a stunning recording!
Love love love Nickel Creek! Such a GEM of a band. Fabulous performance!
Their voices blend so beautifully
3 voices that should not be separated
Jam packed unmatched talent!
So much has changed,
and yet,
nearly nothing at all. ❤
Sara graces the show quite a bit, but it's awesome to see Sean. He's a low-key guitar hero for me.
nothing low key about his chops... :D

I loved those solos so much. When bearded Sean played the build up into his I almost died.
One of my personal favorite songs of all time
Oh, this NC anthem has matured...brilliantly. Sara's phrasing/dynamics are so good in this performance. love it!!
I'm so glad I get to grow up listening to Nickel Creek!
Amazing performance of one of all time favorites. Also Chris's face at 3:00 made my day.
Dude is enjoying his place in the world!
That mandolin fadeout was awesome!
This is my favorite song by them. It’s raw and real.
This was always one of my favorites from Nickel Creek :)

love this group! Their harmonies are out of this world!
Just stunning. Takes me back a few years.

Love this album. Glad to see this performance on ‘Live From Here’.
A perfect song from an all-time favorite album. Love you, Nickel Creek❤️
Yeah baby... That's the kind of music I like!!🙌🙌
sara nailed this
Chris you always are perfect of course
Pure magic. I really hope I get a chance to see Live From Here, well.... live, someday.
I just found these guys and im absolutely sure they are my newest favorite creators in forever... I love music
Bluegrass music doesn't get any better than this, Bill Monroe would be proud.
Jeff Gaumond nice....A far cry from Lester and Earl.

She is far and away the best singer in this band. I always wished she'd sing lead more
She's amazing but Chris Thile is one of the best tenors there ever was. He also has the best pitch out of all of them.

So cool to see Critter from PB in the back. Smiling and digging during Sean's solo

One of my favorite NC songs! So happy to have found you on UA-cam!! 😊
Damn! That was great.
Magically better than the sum of its parts... and these are great parts. Would do anything for a new album from these 3 together
So impressive, so inspiring, perfectly aged musical harmony. I hope I can see you live one day, will travel.🇨🇦❤
Nice to see this happen
Excellent!!!
So freaking good.
An excellent group of musicians!!!
Sean Watkins straight crushin it on that guitar bit... beautiful. Fav band ever
So nice to see and hear them again 😊
Great group
Enjoy from Connecticut
Nailed it! Better than the tonight show. Shawn playing louder & singing louder. Chris made a new ending... go figure. Love it
The way the songs just falls apart... i swear i saw this group at my high school cool around 1997. I like a few of their tunes but this live clip was really good
Goosebumps hearing y’all play together again!

Too bad life got in the way of this talented trio. Welcome back.
Amazing!
Still great!
these three together made a sound that no one else had. the bluegrass instruments but not bluegrass contemporary but timeless.
awesome
Wow. Are they gonna do another album?
Damn. Just. Damn.
Love it
Why did it take from Feb to July to bring this forward?
Oh, my.
I've always thought Sara had a beautiful voice, but I love the way it has matured into a brassier, more soulful timbre.
The three of them are one.
Top drawer. Does it get any better then this!?

Is that a Punch Bother back there?
Am I wrong in saying that Chris looks just like Rumpelstiltskin in Shrek Forever After when he is doing his solo at the end?
sara on that violin though...
Great to hear a classic but MAN oh man does that guitar pickup sound like ass...
god it's appalling isn't it.
Especially compared to the other instruments being mic'd.
The sound man only knows how to do vocals apparently. The instruments sound muddy.
No. The sound man finally picked up the abilities of Sean Watkins on the guitar and the microphone. Guys got talent
@@kevinwheaton7347 Unquestionably talented performers, just wish the guitar had sounded like an actual guitar
