When my daughter graduated from High School in 2004, I remember writing some of the lyrics from this song into her Graduation card. The last few months she had been having some mental difficulties. Little did we know she was slowly being swallowed up by schizophrenia. College was cancelled and she spent the next year mostly in bed, sleeping. Eventually she was diagnosed and she's on the right meds now, and she's a beautiful person, in a relatively happy place. But she had wanted to be a doctor. Instead she helps to stuff envelopes at a charity organization she works for. It makes me sad that all her dreams were stripped away, but happy that we still have her. She still "crashes" every once in awhile, and I try to catch her when she falls. Love you sweetie!

My son at 17 right after 9/11, came to me and said, “we have to do something.” For him that meant joining the Marines, and choosing infantry. Which the recruiter had said the numbers were very high for infantry. Just short by a year or so for his 20th year in the Marines, he lost his battle with ptsd. We found out afterward he had been seeking help the previous year, but they never official diagnosed him with sleep deprivation and ptsd, which he described, so no treatment was given. A few months after his passing this song began playing spontaneously, come to find out it was on his playlist. No one else knew of or ever heard the song play before. I believe he intended it for his family that he left behind. Please follow up and check up on loved ones, especially those who have fought for our freedom. Love you, Corey Lee

I love this song. When I was in my drug addiction it gave me hope. It felt like Jesus was speaking to me. I know he was. 15 years sober I know for a fact that God expresses his love in many different ways.

I check back on this song so often just to see if by some miracle he has commented looking for me. The last thing he said to me was “I’ll hold the line.” I hope and pray when he hears this he hears his angel because I hear mine. I’m still holding the line. It’s been so many years, but I won’t stop looking even if I only see him in this song.

Loss of any loved one is extremely painful. But loss of a child is a whole different ball game. I lost a child, so I can sympathize with you. It takes great strength to keep living on without them. I will keep you and your son in my prayers- truly. I am a 57 year old woman, who became addicted to narcotic pain meds 20+ years ago, when this song was recent. My husband tried so desperately to help me, but after a while he realized HE himself could not 'save' me. He told me he realized this now, but he will never leave me, no matter how hard things got, and if I ever need, or had to go,,, he would always be waiting for me. He heard this song back then and needed to share it with me. We sat on the edge of our bed, he held me and he cried. We both cried. It has been a long time since that nite and I GRATEFUL to a LOVING GOD and those who loved me, and never gave up on me. Please don't give up on your son,,, ALWAYS have HOPE. People forget that it's not just the addicts that face a challenge, but also the partners if these people. They are true angels, they are like the camera men of the natural world, they do everything the host does..whilst holding a damn camera. My kid is graduating HS in two weeks, then heading out for basic training in three weeks. We're close and it's going to be hard for me to let him go. But I remind myself that I let go of his hand before he took his first steps. He came back soon enough then, and he will again. I might have to play this on repeat and cry in a dark corner for a couple days though. This is hard, but I'm excited for him. 70% excited for him, 30% soul crushing pain for me.
