- Do you find the Rane One platters to be too small? Do you wish Rane would come out with a controller with bigger spinning platters? In this video Noiz finds a solution to get around the problem. In this video Noiz uses an 8” disc from the Denon SC6000 to replace the stock 7.2” that came with the Rane One.

Great video. I owned the Denon 3500s, 3700s and the 3900s and with the 3900s, they hit the nail on the head with that controller. The RaneOne MKII should have the 9 inch platter and a Rane 70 mixer...game over...for a while

Right on for sharing this! I started dj'n in 1996 in San Francisco, home of the skratch piklz. I just started researching on purchasing a controller and the Rane One with these motorised platters is idea for me as turntablist/mixologist. I'm big handed and increasing surface space is why I mainly play venues and request for turntables only. good idea but it looks weird with them over size discs
It isn’t perfect but I promise it feels better than the stock discs.

I swear some company saw your vid and stole your idea though lol 12 inch skinz sell 8' XL rane one control vinyls now I ended up buying em bc I came across em while trying to find those Denon vinyls. They're cool n all but slightly smaller so Ima def still give the ones for the Denon a try though

Seems I remember another video idea like this where the guy was rich enough to have sc6000 and Rane one and he also changed out the platters from the Sc6000 and the control platter discs, I think the base diameter is the same just the rane one platter comes upwards at an angle but the sc6000 platter is practically vertical so it worked out great. Now if only you could just buy the sc6000 platter to upgrade the rane one, you would could have a nice affordable upgrade

Where can I get the OEM denon record disc other then 12inch Skinz?
I tried this with my NS7III. I trimmed down vinyl with a router to approximately 8 inches. I had 2 concerns: 1) the start up time was slower because of the additional weight of the disc. The fact that the outer inch of the dish has no slip mat under it made it slow to wind up. If I were to try again, I would attach a larger disc to the platter, then an 8" slip mat, then this disc. 2) The additional weight had me worried this could cause long term damage to the motors. They have not been designed for the additional weight. It did feel great however, and I do wish the platters were larger, but I took them off because of these concerns.
I didn’t have the slow startup issue. I’ve been using it with no issues.
@@NoizTheDj I do a lot of beat juggling as well, and I notice the larger platters have a lot more momentum went backspinning. So when I backspin the record keeps rotating backwards further than it would with a regular sized platter. How is that experience for you?
@@hiphopsuperman I think it all depends on what slip mat you’re using, I really haven’t had those issues but then again I keep the turntablism down to minimum when using the Rane One.

Weight? Are you serious! Weight of a record to damage a motor

@@No--0--Spin Weight from a stone maybe not a record, even 2 - 3 records stacked wouldnt affect such a High Torque Direct Drive motor

I’m looking at buying these same platters. How would you say they feel compared to the stock platters? Are they made of the same material? Same thickness as stock? Do they feel like vinyl, or acrylic?
