I have found a used NS7 II less than AUD 400 , I am bit worried about the software support as it will work until Serato DJ pro version 2.3.1 and it is almost 10 years old model. Do you still recommend for NS II. or should consider DDJ SX2/SX3 which works with latest Serato version according to Serato website. please help to to take a decision

The rane one is smaller and format because it's only a two-channel mixer.

A better comparison would've been the NS7 III VS the Rane.

Unfortunately you don't talk about the NS7 , 3 simultaneous FX. And didn't compare the prices. In "my" opinion, NS7 II is the best. Too many resources , 4 channels ( I use 3 And 4 to sampler and scratches ) best price. in the case of Rane, I don't understand how a 2 channel controller can be so expensive.

Not a fair comparison. The NS7II is over 8 years old. The rane one just came out. It almost look like rane tried to redo what numark done years ago. Not saying that it's not a good unit ,it's the newest toy on the market. The rane one is smaller and format because it's only a two-channel mixer.

In the end, it's what a DJ can do with it. The better DJ will make either one of these units seem better if that DJ knows how to do what a good DJ knows how to do. If the DJ sucks, it doesn't matter which unit he has or she has.

Just got the Rane One two weeks ago and I actually think there's something to be said for battle style setup. Coming from a vinyl background, it's more familiar to me. More importantly, having the tempo fader up top creates more real estate at the bottom where it is more useful. Finally, battle style also centers the platters, which makes a slight difference. Would have been fine as well if they just mirrored the decks and deck controls.
Minor complaints aside, so far I'm loving this unit. Took no time to get used to the 7" platters, and the feel of the motors is top notch. If you close your eyes when scratching, you'd swear you were on a set of 1200's.

There's no comparison. Numark NS7ii is better. Onboard effects. 4 channel mixing. It's all metal. In music company discontinued the ns7 series so that they could introduce the Rane one. Simply put , the numark has more than 8 years and still going. The Rane One...I doubt it'll last.

    • @sonnyspade1
      @sonnyspade1 2 роки тому +4

Many also predicted the NS7iii would be the last of the motorized platter "trend," but look at these high end units like the Rane One and Pioneer rev7 coming out. I totally agree that if 4 channels or native fx are important to you, the One is a no go. I messed with my brother's NS7iii before going in on the Rane One. I've been a Numark guy since back in the day, but the motors on the NS7iii don't even compare to the Rane One.
Software FX on Serato has advanced a lot and is good enough for me, so no biggie there and I don't really need 4 channels. My biggest gripe is lack of an onboard display like the rev7. Unfortunately the rev7 is so backordered nobody out here even has a floor unit I could demo, so no clue how good the platters are. If players were comparable to the One and rev7 was available, I would have thrown the extra cash to get on board FX, built in display and 4 channels.
In the end I think NS7 vs One isn't a debate that even needs to be had. It's like choosing between a Ferrari or a Bentley. They're both expensive and dope as fuck. Just a matter of what you plan on doing with it.

@sonnyspade1 does the Rane 1 have the auto loops in the beatpad like the NS7ii? This is where the DDJ1000SRT fucked up. I want my NS7ii fixed because I need that.

For turntablists, Ns7ii was the answer. DJs who use turntables vs CD DJs VS laptop DJs have argued forever about which is better.
RANE ONE had to take something from the ns7ii so no love was lost for the Rane one but one could appreciate the history behind Numark.

the ns72 & 3 have most if not al the rane one controls. the fx paddle is on the ns7 its the revers bleep paddle, it does the same action the spring back and constant hold.
4 channels is a must especially if you scratch, vdj has so many tools that vdj has that u need to get to know. And dont worry if you use vdj u have 4 channels with rane one.
Basicaly you need to drop serato. also get a dedicated sound card. I heard innofader is better. Also numark is made from rane akai dennon parts.
If your gonna spend money get the 12 and 72

Why do you guys compare something that is almost 8+ years old to something much younger and then say and brag about how much better the younger one is?
By the same token why not express how much better the NS7s series is being old and much better than alot of the newer branded pieces of junk there is out there?

Just like DJ Lab said, the NS7 (Mark 1, 2 or 3) is the Technics 1200 of moving platters controllers. I just sold my NS7 and I regretted it. Love the motors and if you take a look at the newer Rev 7, there is no spindle at the middle and I doubt it if it could last for several years. Mine lasted for 14 years until the day I got rid of it.

You need to setup the inno so the cut is closer to centre but then you hit the top plate with the fader or you need to make the CF gap 5mm wider on each side. I went the other way as clock my was annoying af

Both controllers are owned by the same people And for those who bash VDJ, yea...they own that as well as traktor as well. I find that really lazy DJ's are the ones that do the most bashing of a product. They would rather bash than go do their homework. Serato is literally junk compared to VDj...just as how Numark did set the gold standards for controllers.
