    Holy cow. I've been working on these tips the past 6-7 weeks. 50-60 reps/day in my living room. (It's alittle cool for golf in Nebraska). Went outside today and hit a few plastic balls. Solid contact with a little draw.... Felt like this could really work! I'm stoked.

      I agree with you. For me, Chris offers the most complete and comprehensive teaching I have so far seen on UA-cam. He details everything so well and is very strict about what he wants people to do, and I like that. I came across him around 10 days ago and have since learnt a considerable amount. Already I feel that my original swing for 20+ years has changed dramatically and I have a far greater understanding of the swing. Full credit to him as does put a lot of energy into his teaching..

    Good video. I’ll admit I have been turning more each trip and hitting harder. It’s still straight but no longer but spinning more. The last trip my back was killing me. I’m going to take this tip next trip and get back to a less stress swing.

    Fantastic instruction. I used to straighten my back leg with the big window but have since corrected with great results.
    My issue is the transition onto the front leg (my right as I'm a lefty).
    I screwed up my meniscus years ago and it had since healed pretty well. Recently reaggravated it at a range session, but not sure how as recent recordings don't show any sway on the forward pressure shift. Would love to see you cover this technique to safeguard the lead knee or if you have already, please direct me to that video.

I great way to keep the lead knee safe during the transition into impact would be demonstrated in this video. ua-cam.com/video/3CjnrdAqvi0/v-deo.html the sort of movement I have you work on here keeps stress off the knee as much as possible and keeps the central balancing pivot joint more in the hip.       Yeah gonna be a tough one to come back from.
      Instruction question: On your website the takeaway video you have your metronome out. I’ve been using one for my putting stroke for a few years now. When utilizing it for my backswing am I measuring takeaway to top of backswing on the first and second beat? First beat start, complete backswing by second beat? Thanks Chris!

      Yep, that is correct. It takes a little bit to get it dialed in and on your cadence. I generally will start the beat at 75 bpm. Then I’ll start doing to trial arm rep from address to the top and back to address to match the beat. If it feels faster or slower than the normal backswing tempo, I’ll adjust it up or down until it lines up perfectly with my internal beat or the students. Little tip on when you start dialing in the cadence, close your eyes and really focus on the backswing tempo that you normally see and feel. Once you have it locked in, you won’t have to do this procedure again. Hope that helps.

    Yesterday I swung easy and hurt my left hip and sent me to ER. I did warmups and stretches before hitting balls at range.
    The pain is less but I pulled a muscle rotating

      Man, that is terrible news!
      If this is in response you working through the instruction in this video, I'm sorry that you're having to deal with something that can be frustrating and painful.
      The instruction I gave in this video should have ZERO impact on the lead hip at all. The lead side of the body aside from the lead side lats, shouldn't be sustaining any sort of load nor should it have created any sort of restriction from the lead side. The focus in this video was to move the weight off the lead side, turn the body and stabilize the hips while the body turns, which IS the safest way to move in the backswing. Hope you heal up soon and can get back to working on your game.

    Let me ask you something. If i do this and can't get past left arm parallel, did that just mean I'm using the arms too much EXACTLY with the chest? Like one big unit? Ive heard that's not exactly what one should do, but then it's "all about connection" and for the life of me, i can't find the middle ground without being either too rigid or too sloppy.

      Try this…from a static address position, lift your arms straight up to where your elbows would be right at the base of the chest. Then flex the trail arm close to 90 degrees (your wrists will need to rotate and set slightly), then make a big body turn and look at it on camera. The backswing should look pretty full from down the line and should be what it will look like when you move in the correct order.
      What I’m trying to say is the arms should elevate slightly in the takeaway/backswing and there should be some trail arm flexion. If both of those are done very gradually while you’re turning, then you should be good to go. These arm movements are independent from then shift and turn. Most students load up the shoulder girdles too early from the arm movements superseding body turn. Hope that helps.

    So i was just watching a video about depth in the backswing which required a wall and getting the grip end on or around the butt line to come from inside etc , and I want to work on lower body so I came to this and you have no depth in your backswing , I am unsure of which to focus on because they do not seem like they csn both co exist in the same swing

      Hand depth at the top of the swing is 110% a variable! How much depth a student should achieve is very dependent on how much arm elevation vs. body turn the student is capable of producing without the hips becoming unstable (over rotated) in the backswing. The depth that I personally use helps me get the arms back out in front with as much trail leg drive that I have in the downward half. Unfortunately some explanations don’t take all of that into account. It’s a balancing act for each and every person out there. I encourage people to look at where the arms are in space after transition is complete to know how your current depth is working in your swing shape. Hope that helps.

    Not looking good for Team USA in the Ryder Cup...I heard the interview with Zac after day 1 saying there is a lot of golf to be played. But he's a data guy and the data says that the team winning after day 1 has a 70% chance of winning the Cup. Team USA is going to have to kick it up a couple of notches and each player is going to have to bear down to get it done. Team Europe has been playing lights out!! Come on USA!!!!!

      Im trying to imagine what sort of speech I would give this evening at the team dinner. I would probably cancel the dinner and tell the boys to go hit the range and learn how to hit it into manageable spots off the tee and some please make a 10 footer. The golf course is not something these guys aren't capable of playing.
      They look like they put too much pressure on themselves in this format! I mean I watched JT pretty closely today and his pre shot cadence was sooooo slow. Like he was just trying to be perfect with everything prior to pulling the trigger. If you go watch his PGA Championship win and watch his pre shot, his cadence on or around the greens, it's exceptionally different. Just shows you how mental this game is and how much we are influenced by the sources of pressure and stress.

    JT better come through for his buddy Capt. Johnson, otherwise he'll never live down picking someone who had been struggling to make cuts while leaving off two veterans who had been on serious hot streaks.

      JT is a great player but when you lose form the last place you want to be trying to find good form is the Ryder Cup, picking JT was a big big mistake in my opinion
