    That's the easiest way to shape shots I've ever learned. Your instruction is remarkable Chris, who teaches you how to bow your lead wrist at impact on lesson 3? Us regular guys probably would never get that far...you made it a prerequisite that's the difference between hitting it like a tour player than Saturday afternoon 4 some with the budweiser Brothers. Anyone at home like me can't get to the range all the time. I stood in front of my TV and did 5,000 swings on a rug or matt. foam balls sometimes. I went to the range and the ball was coming off the face hot just hissing like a snake low and slightly rising not even hip high to hip high less than. imagine where you'll be ball striking wise if you put in the effort while watching TV for christ sakes. Chris your the real deal. I laugh when I see a commercial with hank haney now. no thanks I got a bowed wrist at impact from a 9 minute video from a no nonsense instructor who obviously loves teaching and cares about the struggling player he's never met. Your a shining example of your profession Chris. looking forward to further videos. The tension was killing me at 1st so glad you mentioned it several times and made a HUGE difference Thanks for covering all the bases Chris

    Loving this series Chris, I'vewatched a load of golf videos but these talk to me better than almost all. Been struggling with my long irons for ages but after practicing your drills even my 4i is getting out there now.

    been doing the drills. Now with the longer clubs are hooking, but to far left. how do I correct? Don't turn my left hand down to much or put the ball back in my stance.

      I’d keep the ball position where it is for now. You can add a little more pull of the lead arm through the hitting area OR you try to feel a little less supination of the lead wrist through the point of contact. I’d probably suggest you do some really small reps for a bit as well just to dial it in and to make sure the face is really working perfectly.

    So Chris, are you saying to set up square the the target line and then adjust your shoulder line along the desired path?

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  8 місяців тому +2

      Yes, just small amounts. You don’t need much to in either direction to start seeing shape.

      Thanks! That makes sense! I’m really enjoying this series. Time to put in the reps!

      do you have to close and /or open the face as well or shoulders enough to make it happen??@@MyGolfDNA

      @MyGolfDNA  8 місяців тому +1

      @@merciejo1 You would only need to manipulate the face in the release if the path was inflating too much in to out or out to in.

    What would be the difference or reason not to line your feet to the path? I've always found it easier to aim right if I need to hit a draw. If I aim at target and swing right I will tend to hit it on the hosel lol.

      Because now you are having to change the complexity of the release and add more timing into the bottom of the arc. The “new” ball flight laws have uncovered how the face takes on the most weight in the equation as far as ball flight is concerned and subtle bumps to the path can create curvature. Id rather have students work on keeping the release very consistent since it’s 85% of the shot. If you are hitting a hosel fade with this thought process, double check if the hips are clearing out enough and make sure you don’t have deep arms at the top of the swing.

      Chris - been loving your videos but on this one, re Jordan's point I have got to disagree. I know you are the coach but I learned to keep the swing and release the same and just move left or right foot back 6inches. Clubface square, shoulders aligned with feet swing the same where shoulders follow the feet. Bigger or little fade/draw, bigger or lesser pull back of the foot. Start with a 30yrd hook and work all way through to a 30yd slice and you get this stuff. @@MyGolfDNA

      @@user-yc8su7ec6e When it comes to working the ball MORE than what you want the intended stock shot to be, of course you can take this sort of approach. What you want to remember inside of the new ball flight laws is the face angle determines the starting line and the path will dictate the curvature. When you start messing around with big adjustments to the path, you're ultimately now having to train your hands to manipulate the face angle away from the stock release that you worked on in the front of this video. Which can create higher or lower rates of closure, different AOA etc. Example: The path gets too far in to out in, the can shallow out with it, which in turn induces much higher rate of closure in the clubface through contact. I don't want students to think lots of big movement at first. They need to have as much understanding of the club face as possible and let little changes to the path show a different shot shape. Then you can expand out from there. Hope that makes sense and is helpful to you.
