Mini Piglet Takes A Bath

Most pigs do not like baths in the beginning. The more you bathe your pig and the more familiar it gets with this activity, and the easier it will become. Be sure to use bath water that is warm, similar to the temperature you would like to bathe in, but not too hot. Make sure the water has already been drawn (chest depth of your pig) before adding your pig so they are not scared of the sound of the rushing water. You can place a towel or non slip mat on the tub floor so your pig doesn't slip. Make the bath calm and give them lots of praise. Allow them to stay in the bath long enough to get accustomed and calm themselves. You can use cheerios for floating treats or smear a bit of peanut butter to the wall of the tub as incentive. Many times pigs will learn to enjoy bath time, or grow to tolerate it if done consistently and starting as a piglet.
