This is great as usual! One suggestion - another less expensive way to calm the jitter is to use the Friction force to dampen all the dyamics. Really helps in art directing the motion as well.
Fantastic tutorial! Thanks for this great info :) I'd love to learn more about your texturing techniques on the red rope. For some reason some of the UVs are getting stretched and distorted. Thanks again! Great work, as always! Cheers.
mh the way you create the geometry is really strange, you only have 4 spline, it would be easier just to use the 4 Sweeps, or since you have redshift, you can add redshift object tag and render the splines directly in RS. BTW the way you create the 1st spline is also a bit noobish and not precise. You can use the a simple Helix with start and end radius set to 0.
Thanks!

really great! Could you share the techniques with the rock inside as well? If it can be used to tangle any object. Cheers
I'm trying to make a pulley animation. Could this process be used for that? I'm super new in C4d. Thanks!
I'm impressed. This is the best tutorial. Thanks for sharing. 🤟
Thank you for this. Was hard to find a Cinema 4D 2023 tutorial on spline dynamics since they changed to rope tag.

Great question buddy 👍🏼
Im trying to recreate the same thing on 3Ds max, and I’m struggling with uvs as well 😅
@@baraejasny scale down the tiles on V, Greyscalegorrila has a video on texturing the ropes.
Really looking for shooselace animation and found a way to do it😊 thanks 👍
Really nice tutorial! But what I really want to see is your lighting setup, it is incredible how good your lighting look like
I'm making a tutorial on lighting soon 🙌
@@lukasthorup Great! Nice to hear that man, thank you
@@lukasthorup please do 🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@lukasthorup bro can you texturing and lighting, both please
Superb tutorial. Thanks.
Another vote for lighting tut.
Such a great tutorial! Simple yet thorough🤩 Thank you for sharing!
Love this tutroial
great and helpful tutorial , but i wan't to ask how to make and object as a collider , like the rock in the intro and thank you
I just tried it with a simple cube. Just use the Collider simulation tag and increase the friction so the ropes don't slip off directly.
really helpful.thankyou somuch
Thanks for the tutoial. I'm finding it hard mapping the texture properly once it's setup.
Maybe use a sweep for each of the splines if you don't have many. It makes better UVs
Wait--- what happened at Time 5:28 ? It feels like there was some edit in which some instruction gets missed.
Can this be done on older versions
hey thank you for this grat tutorial!
Is the intro made with the same technique??
Yes it is
nice✌✌

The Redshift tag doesn't work with animation, so you first have to bake it as an alembic and that makes the workflow much slower.
y u beeing such an a-hole?
