I’m surprised it didn’t appeal to you at first, it’s the smallest ship currently planned that has a tier 1 Med bed. That’s pretty valuable in my eyes! 🤙
I've been waiting for the Apollo's announcement. I cant wait to fly it; even if drones aren't implemented yet I'll still enjoy the gameplay. Of course I can see people resorting to using the ship for non-intended roles such as LRT-MRT missions or even as a respawn dropship.
Out of all the ships I own, the Apollo is one of the three vessels I feel that I absolutely must retain.
Watching this in the future. The C8R Pisces got me into the game. Was excited to be a medic until I realized that the patient controls the healing process. I can just see/tell them the level of their injuries and drive them to the nearest hospital if the injury is greater than Tier 1. I hope they allow the medics to be in control of healing or I won't be getting that Apollo ship.
They plan to do that in the future, this is currently a temporary measure until the medical gameplay loop can receive the planned reworks
I hope they add a tricorder.. hand tool to use as on-foot radar, scan for mineables/harvestables/water/wildlife etc, and up close detailed scans to increase the yield or reveal rare resources, medical scan that can recommend treatment options, that kind of thing. I want to be able to scan Jumptown for life signs. Take pictures with a tricorder and send them to other players with my mobiGlas..
We will have all that functionality but not in a do all single device. The current intent is to have it split between bespoke tools for each profession, like the current med gun. The closest thing to a multi use tool is the Greycat multi-tool but this doesn't have as much useability or detailed data.
Excited to finally fly this one. Bought the red version with intent to upgrade for combat medevac in game.
i mean both great but the Medivac only offers missiles
@@LawlessBaron Additional armor (whenever implemented) and missiles; though with these traits I'd expect to see an increase in hp for the time being... Of course, as already stated, the medivac will be slower but I wonder if the handling will also be affected.
That's great overall review. Thanks. As for myself, I decided to upgrade my Cutlass Red to MedEvac d/t Cutlass possibilities downgrade, so I see no meaning in Red anymore. Only if You have a buddy on Endeavour where You can deliver injured people.
One thing about the Apollo medical capacity is you can conceivably with the specific module setup - have four times the medical ability of one Carrack or 890J in one ship. Or a mixture as deemed appropriate for the mission.
I am thinking the ship might need to change a little. It lacks a docking collar and I do not see many places to add one...maybe make the ramp have an embedded one. Otherwise considering the ships design and internal layout a docking collar might work going into the components room or maybe have a part of the hull open up to have a collar extend out from the side and going into the entrance near the ramp, but then the nacelles are in the way...so make that section taller? not sure how they will resolve it. but the simple solution would be the combo ramp/collar
I'm loving the sound of these medular modbays xD
I really like the look of this ship. (Seems heavily based on Star Trek's Voyager ship (which was my fav) with the 2 rear pylon engines behind a large flat front section) I hope this chassis ends up getting other role variants at some point.

Medevac has HEAVY armor which decreases its maximum speed I assume. Other than that, a few missiles, ballistic turret weapons, and a different paint job are the differences from the Triage.

Well drakes great but not tier 1 med beds
Are they tier 2 or 3 because if tier 2 they have respawns and as I believe they currently do
@@LawlessBaron They are tier 3, so no respawn, but it can keep tier 2 and 1 injuries stable whilst transporting. The only ships currently that you can spawn in are the Carrack and 980 Jump which have tier 2 beds.
it would be cool if the apollo could drop a player off, get off the ground, then use a drone to give the player their inventory. That way they wouldn't be armed until the apollo is a safe distance away

@@LawlessBaron In-game price, or even availability. I'm pretty sure it'll be available with aUEC but I cannot seem to find out how much it'll cost.
@@erisperegrine2436 maybe once its been announced to launch in game we may get that info. Being it's still in concept I don't forsee getting an aUEC cost.
