Who are the Mayans? documentary - my time with the indigenous people of Guatemala

Guatemala was country number two on my hitchhiking trip from Mexico to Colombia.
This is a short documentary I made about the history of the Mayans, the struggles their culture has faced in the past due to war, and how those problems still affect them in the modern day. There is also an interview with Oralia, and indigenous lady who I stayed with for three weeks during my time in Guatemala.

I live in California and I always see Guatemalan ladies and their kids at my local mall. I love that they wear their traditional outfits. I wish everyone would wear the garb of their ancestors, instead of cheap trashy "leisure wear." It's so much more dignified and beautiful.

Great video! Just a note-- 7:43 should be Ladinos, not Latinos. The term Ladino typically refers to non-indigenous Guatemalans.
