@@DoctorPlasmaMC next thing I need is a multi-floor 3x3!! Found a video of yours that did that yesterday too but I'm a complete redstone noob and it was too much for me to understand 🤣🤣
I need to install a 3x3 elevator where any extra stopping/starting mechanisms are as visually minimal as possible, so I actually improved this design by removing two of the clasp trigger pistons! I made the slime and honey sections be at 12 blocks already without any stoppers by replacing the end slime on the top C shape with honey. Then I added 2 slime blocks underneath the existing ones on the flat side of the C. Now you only need to push one extra block onto each honey/slime component for the clasp trigger, as long as it hits directly underneath a the next ring floor ring!
Thanks I needed this for a vault but I needed it more compact for the stopping mechanism so I made some modifications and it some how worked. Still big though but I can make it work for the build. Thank you again.
Hey Doctor Plasma, out of the numerous other minecrafter youtubers yours especially informative and helpful, I very much appreciate how you get right into it and explain and things I thought were impossible (better sugar cane efficiency or an 8x8 elevator). Could it work as a full enclosed elevator? (Ceiling, door, and walls included) Its a question bothering me for months. Thanks if you reply!
Yes! I'm actually working on some really big multifloor elevators with the help of a friend. It's just a bit more complicated to do, and it's taking time. He proved a round 7x7 elevator can be multifloor, and our experiments led to my 2x2 multifloor soon after, I'm going to work my way up and do a server collab when we get to his. Great video. Just wanted to ask if there was a way to call the elevator up and down when the elevator isn't there? I've made it on a server with friends and we are bound to use it at different times, so we will need to call it up and down when we need it. Well I totally agree that elevators are like the best machine for Minecraft because say you have a tall mountain that generated and you wanted to climb up and down it for a house or something if you built an elevator it can get you up and down safely in survival instead of jumping off like a mad man and breaking every bone in your body

I have a problem with mine, so whenever I have nothing around the honey and slime blocks it goe's all the way up, but whenever I place the block I need around it just goes up 1 block
why does not the blocks you stand on in the elevator follow it down? It goes up with no problem and when i press to go down it just leaves the platform you stand on
when i activate it (placing the obsidian on the observers) it doesn't work? I do the top observer and the piston activate, but then I do the bottom and nothing happens?
Great tutorial, but one issue. When I build the elevator and set up a bottom floor button for it, whenever I put the Redstone dust in front of the observer like you did here, the sticky pistons push up the honey and slime blocks. However, when I make a Redstone line, which fires are observer, the sticky pistons pull. However, unlike in your tutorial, the sticky pistons only pull the honey part, and leave the slime part floating.
UPDATE: Got it to work, simply had to remove the blocks surrounding the slime. I know you mentioned that in the video but it seems like I didn't understand. Thank you for the awesome tutorial though!
does it have to be glazes terrocota, or just any color terrocotta? im making an underground base in survival, and getting that much obsidian is just too much work, but i dont want to use glazed.
You mean do a bigger elevator? I have videos on how to do that. See my playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLMtPFF5GHvbS0TmFaw3-kpQbtJFpFJOZz.html There's no silver bullet for making big elevators sadly, each size is a different challenge. I'm solving what is needed for an elevator of any size, one elevator at a time. I'm doing squares first and a 9x9 video is coming soon. I have plans for round ones and rectangles.
Hey I’m stuck on the fact that my pistons to make the elevator don’t work the ones on the right side only one moves and then when it retracts the other that didn’t move does the motion really fast and nothing moves and I can’t seem to fix it
honestly this was my first video ever and I've improved on the design, i have a few shorts, but this update is clearer to me: ua-cam.com/video/ziq5aclOuOQ/v-deo.html
sounds like you're trying to on bedrock. Bedrock doesn't allow this key slime block trick. if not, ensure your pistons are facing the right way, observers should never be attached to the piston's front, only the back

Would it be possible to have a 3x3 piston elevator with a moving ceiling as well?
i can imagine so, you'd just need another upside down elevator connected somehow.
it'd just be a lot of effort.
Would these mechanics work on Bedrock or is the redstone circuitry different?
it's different. try my honey block 2x2 short tho, I hear that design works.
Thank you so much! I was trying to make one work but I just couldn't and now I realised why I used normal pistons and not sticky🤣
glad you figured it out!
is there anyway to make this expandable ?
You mean do a bigger elevator? I have videos on how to do that.

There's no silver bullet for making big elevators sadly, each size is a different challenge.
I'm solving what is needed for an elevator of any size, one elevator at a time.
I'm doing squares first and a 9x9 video is coming soon. I have plans for round ones and rectangles.
Hey I’m stuck on the fact that my pistons to make the elevator don’t work the ones on the right side only one moves and then when it retracts the other that didn’t move does the motion really fast and nothing moves and I can’t seem to fix it
this was my very first video, my 3x3/5x5 review video and my latest elevator short might be more helpful.
join my Discord and I can help you there!
My elevator is dragging the catching blocks up past the stopping point, rather than the blocks stopping it. Do you have any ideas on a fix?
that means your slime/honey underneath doesn't add up to 12 when you include the top layer.
honestly this was my first video ever and I've improved on the design, i have a few shorts, but this update is clearer to me:

the blocks i put around get pulled whit it how to fix?
@@Krekers3412 Glazed terracotta. They don't stick
When i build this, the 4 blocks with the honey on them go up by 1 more, any solution to this?
you might be missing a block, the blocks above and honey/slime connected should each add up to 12.
Why does the initial elevator go up and down randomly
sounds like you're trying to on bedrock. Bedrock doesn't allow this key slime block trick. if not, ensure your pistons are facing the right way, observers should never be attached to the piston's front, only the back
@@DoctorPlasmaMC how would I make a working elevator? I’m on bedrock
