Blade Saver. Just make sure you get the right size for your old blades. In the video I am using one for 45mm blades. I love it.

Thanks so much for subbing! Glad to have another scrappy viewer! I have so many, and with a very small sewing space (about 40 square feet) i have to clear them out very often.
This is exactly what I need to do. Thanks for sharing yours. 👍❤️😊

You do such beautiful work! You are truly a fabric lover…👍🏻💖👵🏻
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much 😀
I really love watching you sew all of these little units together! What a great way to use up all of your fabric! It’s getting so expensive! I think scrappy quilts like this are my favorite!
I'm so happy to hear that! Thank you!
This is great
Thank you!! ☀️
Do I spy that thrift store green and yellow sheet amongst those scraps? Wow, that sheet has been the gift that keeps on giving. Aren't you tired of that sheet by now? I probably would have burned it by now.
This made me laugh out LOUD! ha. Well guess what, every time I think it's all gone, I find more in a drawer, and yes, there is a bit more I have found a couple weeks back. So, yes, we are going to see it one more (and hopefully last) time! I might do something completely different though, I have an idea percolating!
I'd like to see your ideas for fall related projects from your scraps@@sunbeamfabricart
@@cathymonroe8191 Hi Cathy! I have a couple of "spooky season" quilt tops - here are the links: table runner ua-cam.com/video/HLQZrs65uTc/v-deo.html. 10 inch square beginner quilt
ua-cam.com/video/wUR6j319e90/v-deo.html. and a couple of spooky panel quilt tops
ua-cam.com/video/jVbjEp9YCpc/v-deo.html. But honestly, ANY quilt tutorial can be adapted to fall, just by changing up the fabric! Look for dark versus light, versus contrast when converting - and most of all have fun and ENJOY!
Now you know the drill. I told myself NO NEW FABRIC! Then Joann's runs a half price sale on fall fabrics and with no resistance from me, I clicked and ordered. I think I'm officially a fabricholic!@@sunbeamfabricart
Great process video. You are inspirational using up your scraps.
Thank you so much!
I'm a scrapoholic! Loved watching.
Thank you! I hope you got some good ideas!
Love your scrappy quilts!
Thanks so much!
I find when you are doing these kind of scrappy crumb blocks, you still need a consistent fabric to anchor, or the results are too chaotic
Agreed! Thanks!
The white does that
Guess who HAPPENED to catch this, your newest video, yesterday on my tele-UA-cam? ME!!!
Now ... guess who has been up since 1:30 this morning, taking my separated crumb pieces (created over the last week), and picked up on a VERY good tip from this video? ME !!!
I have a TON of scraps stashed around the studio - - a sign that I love making them, but do not know how to actually use them.
You solved my paralysis issue! The tip I picked up on today/yesterday is to separate scrap blocks into sizes .... TIP! Start at the largest scrap blocks, so that left over cutoffs from sizing up each block can be put with the smaller blocks.
GREAT IDEA! So simple, direct and yet, illusive to my befuddled, scattered brain. AGAIN! THANK YOU!
I can hardly wait to find a scrap box that has never had me playing with the scraps and experience the joy you must have when you start on a fresh bin of scraps.
That is so great to hear! Thank you for sharing this! I am really glad it was helpful. Have fun!
I came looking for this video today. I couldn't remember - - do I start with the largest? or the smallest? I found my own comment, but I really like watching you work, so I watched it all again. (Just FYI - - I also enjoy watching lava lamps - - I am easily entertained ... LOL@@sunbeamfabricart
Thanks for the update Mary! Glad to hear that it was helpful!
One of the things I have wanted for some time was some continuity to try to calm my tendency to keep adding variety of colors. By starting with the larger scraps to fit them to the five inch squares, I have found that it did indeed create what I was looking for. I like the tiny scraps and get lost in the larger ones. By discipling myself to work with one box of scraps, there are many duplicates of color throughout the blocks of the quilt (duh! Mary!). One day soon, I hope to actually empty my box of five inch squares with the sparkly of related crumb blocks. I keep posting on your tapes to try to keep all that you have taught me in front of other scrap lovers. I do appreciate your postings. They have encouraged me and improved my production immensely. I do not know if I will ever "graduate" to 15" squares, but I do own a ruler for that if I ever get through my current work material@@sunbeamfabricart
Gorgeous outcome!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love this. And, my! You're really skilled at rotory cutting from all angles! (I'm not good at that!) When I can use a rotating cutting board I do that--but, I can see how learning to rotory cut from all angles would save time. Also, I love the blade saver cutter to cut threads!
Thanks so much! ☀️. I actually own a rotating cutting mat, but rarely use it. HA. Have a great day.
Super cute 😊
Thank you!
Lovely 😊
Thank you! 😊
Annette thank you so much for all your content!!! I love how the scraps come together- making a new piece that will be loved by someone🥰
Question- being newer to quilting how would one find out how/where to find charity options!!??! ❤️😀
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment! If you're in the USA, visit projectlinus.org for one. However, I donate to a couple others since I use old sheet sets for some quilts, and project linus prefers new materials. Maybe check with a local quilting guild, or a children's hospital too.
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure!
Looks like you still had some scraps from that old sheet?! Wow, what a gift that was. That old thing just kept giving and giving, didn't it? Got any more left? 😊
My thoughts exactly! I'm glad I like it, or I'd be in bad shape. And just found another set of triangles from a prior project that ALSO have that sheet fabric. It may be around for the rest of my life! HA. Thanks so much for your comment!
I subscribed for 2 reasons great videos and you have the same machine as I do and I have questions about it. I tried quilting on it and can't get the tension to work Only during quilting? I've tried upper and lower tension adjustments.
Oh thanks so much for subbing! And yay! I love my machine, it was in my budget and it has worked well for me for over 5 years now. For FREE MOTION QUILTING: If you are using the quilting foot that came with the machine DON'T! I finally went to my local sewing machine company, and they sold me a 'real' free motion quilting foot. For STRAIGHT LINE quilting, just use the walking foot and it will be a dream! Here's a couple of videos and one of them shows that quilting foot I'm talking about. ua-cam.com/play/PLNgJsWBvdLlGUoWT63VFh6UkZaHyx9-Je.html
Great video. Scrapping is my favorite. Adding the strip long or short is a great idea. I am going to try it. Maybe with a plain color or colors. I don’t have a lot of scrap colors so have just mixed my colors but think all one color would be a nice lap quilt. I am finding that when pressing if I do open seams much less bulk especially the smaller pieces of fabric
Thanks so much!
You have a wonderful sewing setup. How do you like your machine?
Thanks! For the price it's a good machine for sure. It does all I need.
😳😝🤣❤️😀
☀️
I’m not understanding what your talking about- could you please explain?!?
❤️😀
Thanks!☀️
Not a fan, the white strips are to much.
Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for sharing. I like to elongate m ruler so that the blocks don't look so random. Elongating the ruler gives it interest and visual texture.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing!
