Amazing work!! I just finished watching all of the various quilts being made. A very interesting collection, and you have 27 beautiful quilts to donate. I admire your determination to finish these quilts. I am also impressed with your generosity to contribute your fabrics, thread, batting and especially your time to make these quilts. It had to be expensive, even though many of these quilts were made from scraps. You have made 27 people very happy and feeling special. Congratulations on a job well done!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I made myself a rule a while back that seems to work best for me. I don't work on more than 3 projects at a time. Otherwise, I found I felt overwhelmed. When I finish 1, I'll add another.
I do something similar. I have 5 project cases. I don't let myself start a new one until I have emptied a case. Of course, I am still at the point in my quilt journey where quilts are for specific people for specific occasions.
Every time that I finish a quilt, I reward myself with one or two little quilty projects that I can finish quickly. That motivates me to finish the big ones. 😊
You are very brave to tackle all these beautiful quilts! You inspired me to use the decorative stitches on my machine more often , it really looks so nice! I am hard on myself and finish the last one first before starting the next project although my fingers are already itchy and my brain already develops ideas. Love your channel and the great patterns! Thanks for sharing and hello from Germany! Andrea
Loved all your quilts! They were all beautiful and you gave me some new ideas for the stitches I could use to machine quilt my quilt I’m working on now! Your Tie Dye quilt is amazing! Thank you for sharing it all. Looking forward to your future videos!❤
I appreciate that you quilted most of them simply. I have 3 scrap quilt tops I need to finish. I feel better about tackling them having watch this video. Thank you!
Great job Annette! I have about 10 quilt tops to finish, plus a coupe other unfinished projects, so not so bad! If I had to chose a favorite, I probably couldn't, they are all beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful job! I Recently got brave and started quilting quilts on my home machine I picked up some great hints watching your video! Why did I wait so long??? Thanks! 🤩
I've been watching your channel for quite a while, and I love your content. You've given me the strength to finish some of mine that have been sitting around for a while. Good on you!! (Cindy R)
Congratulations on getting the quilting done !! I too have tops that need finishing. But what I find so surprising is your comment that some of them were quite large, even twin size. I can’t imagine making many quilts that are “small “. Although it’s nice to have a lap quilt, I prefer bed size quilts for my family to sleep under.but I do notice that this is a trend and I don’t know if it’s the patterns or just peoples ability to accomplish a finished quilt.
Hi Annette! You are SO inspiring!!! Imagine the smiles you are bringing to those folks who receive your quilts! Love your work and your joy that you share. Hugs from Canada.
I love the way you quilt your quilts. I am a lover of scrap quilts and I got a few ideas watching you quilt your quilts. I don't have a long arm quilter so I quilt my quilts on my domestic machine.
I wondered who was doing your quilting! LOL. Procrastination I know intimately. You have made up for it by a grand finale! Good for you! It is no small feat to get the backing to size, lay out the batting, pin the quilt sandwich. That is a LOT to accomplish! And then all of that quilting. And, of course, the binding ... rarely accomplished by simply picking up some fabric and attaching. All in all, don't you think. that the quilting of each quilt was a breeze compared with prep and finishing?
Hi Mary !!! 💛☀️ The hardest part to me is the pin basting. I really don't like doing that. The quilting itself can be as easy or as hard as I choose. The binding, to me, is the easiest. I don't really worry about what color, and in some cases of these 27 I mixed and matched fabric to create my binding from some leftovers! Then of course the washing and drying of them all! That's not too bad, my machine can hold 2 or 3 at a time. YAY! 🌸
@@sunbeamfabricart Into each life, some rain must fall (so they say) ... probably not adequate for the things we wish we could skip sometimes. Without the dull and dreary and struggles, we would probably just go find some other challenge! LOL There are always those times when I wonder what I just got myself into, but then I have to remind myself: I ASKED for this! LOL
I have about a dozen quilt tops to quilt. I’ve been overthinking the process though. I really hadn’t thought of using my decorative or zig zag stitches, so thank you! I feel energized to get going on them. 😊
So many beautiful quilts, and so much work done. You’re inspiring to those of us who are beginning our journey of quilting. My favorite has to be the tie-dyed thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and you have inspired me to move onto my next! I haven’t gotten to the point where I can make tops and then go back to them, I am stuck in the rut of they must be complete before I move on. You’ve opened up for me thank you.
I love your quilts and I have searched your videos trying to find out which batting you use. Living in England fabrics and quilting are not as easerly available as they are in the States so most of my supplies are ordered on line so you can not touch beforehand. Although I ordered from the Missouri Star Quilt Co. but the import tax made me cry. I volunteer to teach anyone who comes into our local community center how to use a sewing machine and the first item they make is a lined bag. They have something to show for there first lesson and its useful and not too many seams show. I love your IKEA bag and scrap projects thank you for your channel.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying my channel! 💛🩵💛. I buy 30 yard rolls of batting online. Sometimes 80/20 blend sometimes 100% polyester. That’s great that you are teaching others!!!! ❤️👍
I too have a collection of quilt tops that need to be finished and you are a great source of motivation! My collection is thankfully not a big as yours! ♥️👍
Annette what a wonderful video. Enjoyed each one. Happy for you to have them done. I have many but not near what you had. The fact that you did them all gives me hope that I can really do mine on my machine. I noticed that you have only a small amount of overhang on your quilts instead of the 6” long armers require. Wonder if you ran into problems with shifting?
Hi Connie!💛🩵💛 it does feel good to have all these clothes done and ready to get out the door!☺️ as far as overhang, there were a couple of quilts that I had to piece in some extra batting, about an inch or so maybe on one side of the quilt or the other not a big deal to me!!!
I have about 20 tops that need to be quilted, this gives me a big nudge! I’m also sewing scraps of fabrics together for the backings to get rid of extra fabric that makes my brain freeze. I keep telling myself I have to use all this fabric up before I use the “pretty” fabric, but I’ll probably die before I get to it. Also, I’m wondering what batting you used? That is also an expensive part of quilting with that many quilt tops to finish. 🤗
Good morning 😃. Wow . I have so many favorites. I hope the people who receive your quilts enjoy them. They are so beautiful. PS. I can’t image how many times you filled those bobbins.
Thank you so much! As far as the bobbins go, I thought about counting them up as I went along, but gosh there were just too many. I would say at least 30 to 40 maybe even 50 bobbins!!!!😂💛🩵💛
