An idea occurred to fill the gap in the table top when the saw is stowed is to make a folding board that can be hinged flat behind the saw when it's deployed and folds flat filling the gap when the saw is stored underneath.
Two reasons. There is a sacrificial top so when the saw is folded down I can then lay a full sheet of plywood on top and rip it down. Second, I built an insert that covers the gap left.
@@theweekendbuilder was wondering the same thing, I've watched this and other videos trying to find a fold down style that works for me but no one made an insert to fill the open space when the saw was folded down. Nice work!
@@mmmmattd the primary reason I needed it to fold down is so that I can rip down full sheets of plywood on top. Also, I did make an insert to fill in the gap, but u didn’t do that for a couple months so it didn’t make it to this video. If you want to see it now check out the video below. Seeking member input / recommendations: I have a 12 inch double bevel miter saw I need to mount UNDER my new multi use woodworking table. . It HAS to be mounted UNDER the table top due to space restrictions AND it has to be slide out. Seeking product location information and IF possible pricing and feedback on options ie: bottom mounted vs side mounted hardware. . Seeking group input regarding products on quality / weight capacity lockability when in and out support when extended and cutting materials ANY feedback related to the A/M
Awesome Build ! Just wondering how are those hinges holding up ? Seen other builds that used different hinge setups that probably cost more and I'm all about saving a few $$ here and there. Thanks
Great Build. Great Vid. But the newbie woodworking guy in me winced when you put those casters on-Didn't you hit the other screws drilling the caster's in? Aghhhaaa...no plans? Great idea video for us newbies anyways. Thanks.

Awesome. After months of watching youtube videos, this is what Im looking for. Thank you for making this vid
Thanks for your comment!
I've looked at several videos of doing this and you done it best
Gonna do mine this way
Thank you!
The plans please!! … great job!!
Great video I loved it.. was wondering if you had the plans for this workbench/mitersaw station.
Do you have a cutting list for the miter saw bench please. Fantastic design bench, thanks for sharing.
DO YOU HAVE PLANS FOR IT?
excellent build.
Hi, Great video, thanks for showing.
How does your circular saw not put out dust?
How do you keep the false flat top level when the miter saw in folded away?
I'm also wondering if you have the plans for this.
Unfortunately I don’t
What's the point of it flipping down if you're just leaving unusable table top space?

what size caster wheels? what's the overall height?
What are the dimensions of the flip down portion for the mitre saw?

Hey Greg! Sorry for the late reply. They’re holding up perfect. I recommend saving the money!
How can I get plans?
I didn’t catch the hinge and slide on the miter saw.
great build. Does the inset section allow for full swing left to right of the miter saw gauge?
Yes it does! Full range of motion for compound cuts

Great build. But no plans? You had to have kind of guide….sad to put this on with no plans offered.
Why ruin it with awful music
