Thanks for watching! I rewatched this a year latter and I’m really understanding why people are saying the music is a bit bothersome. It gets old after awhile. I can assure you that my video and music quality has improved greatly so please subscribe!
Music was fine IMO, and the content was great. Keep 'em coming!
Your channel is very entertaining. Don't worry about the music. Your content is very informative. More people will care about that
Actually I didn't notice the music, I paid more attention you the task at hand.
I would not normally complain about background music in a video, unless it is particularly obnoxious or it drowns out the informations being provided.. The information provided is more important to me that the backhround music. However, I find that I prefer videos that have no, or very low volume, background music, and I am more likley to subscribe to and revisit that type of video. Having said that, it's your channel, so your choice.
If you use the name bear mountain, it should be bear mountain picnic by Bob Dylan. That's why I clicked on this.
From old woodwork, very nice job you really don’t need the background music. The most enjoyable things I did in the shop was building stuff for the shop. I enjoyed the video !
I used your basic plan to build my miter saw bench, I have a similar tool chest. I used only wood I reclaimed from pallets including the plywood top. I made it mobile with castors as I have very limited space and that will allow me to do longer projects. Thank you for sharing. Wish I could attach a picture.
From am old woodworker to a young woodworker…..please, please start using eye and hearing protection when using all cutting power tools. Please trust me with this advice. It also sets a great example to the new guys.
So so true. Our bodies can take a lot, but not for long. So preserve what you have, for as long as you can! And use a mask!
You handled the volume of the music well. I could hear everything you said because its volume dropped while you were speaking. It isn’t my kind of tune but if it really got to me I can turn off the volume altogether and turn on captions. Just finished fabricating a new fence for my saw. I will probably make this station in the future. I am an ‘over 60’ grandma and am finishing up building an addition for my laundry room.
I think I've binged my way backwards through this build, but I genuinely LOVE how simple yet totally practical these tables and benches are. No pretentious over engineering, just simple designs that are entirely customisable. New work top required? Unscrew and replace. New drop saw with different dimensions? Replace the section specific to it between the cabinets. Designs that grow with your shop that don't need to be fully rebuilt are the best. Best believe I have these videos saved for when I get space for my own full time workshop.
Almost finished with my miter saw table. This is only my 3rd build and am learning a lot. Old dog new tricks. I am waiting for the knob kit to arrive so I can finish up. I modified the size to fit my tight space and had to go with white melamine because I couldn't find anyone with black in my area but it'll work all the same. I'll post pics when I am done. Thanks for the instructions!
Love it! Keep it up!!
I love that you are making practical projects that don't break the bank. Don't require hardwood and Festool. Keep it up. Oh, and thanks for changing the music in future.
Excellent video. I'm going to build this for my outdoor patio shop area. One thing you might consider...seal your concrete with a couple coats of concrete sealer. It make clean up much easier and looks nice to boot. Thanks for the video.
I really love your videos ! I like how you color coded the boards and explained all the steps as you go !! And your plans are free !! I am going to put drawers underneath, (If I can figure out how to measure the layout of the drawers !!) Keep them coming !!
Man I love your builds... I am going to use your design and tweak it a little by adding the toggle clamps you used on your modular workbench into the miter saw station. That way I can move the miter saw away from the station itself outside and connect to the tables as well in my 24x50 workshop. This gives me so many ideas. Especially for my 12" cutech jointer for long boards. Thank you brother!!! Keep making content. O... love the free plans... too generous. I would have paid 10 bucks a piece for them to be honest!
I realize this is an older video, but it just showed up on my feed. Since you asked, I think you did something that was fantastic in your editing. The idea of showing the design coming progressing as you build it with animated graphics--keep that coming. Perhaps even add a design review with graphics in the beginning, sort of like a walk through. Enjoyed the video and definitely picked up a few ideas for my miter station.
Stumbled upon your video when looking for something to watch while eating lunch. It was entertaining, even though I don't need a bench. In fact, I built something similar for my shop. The reason for the comment, though, is about that old Ryobi table saw there in the back. I have one of those, too, although it is no longer in use. I think I bought mine in 1994! It was OK in it's day and I built a lot of cabinets with it.
Pretty sure mine is older than me but it still works!
Crystal clear. That you don’t charge for the accompanying plans is amazing. Thanks very much. I’d be very interested in your thoughts for dust control on this table.
Great build. With all of the pocket screws you used, I’m surprised that you didn’t use them to hold the top down. The black drywall screws will be dust collectors. If not using pocket screws, maybe some L brackets from the underside. I’m making a very similar project but will laminate 3/4 ply instead of the melamine/ mdf. Nice channel and fun projects to make.
I have just started getting serious about wood working and have found your video's very easy to follow and the plans are awesome. Thanks
Great build, I have found that 3 pocket holes are stronger one on each side and one on the face. Thank you for the plans.
Thank you for the free plans I like it because it’s a lot cheaper than buying plywood in can still put plywood on the front and drawers thank you so much
One of the better videos I've viewed on UA-cam. All should be of such quality. Thank you.
Really like this idea, thanks again for the free plans. Being that i have a very limited space in my garage, I am going to use your Modular Workbenches and make one of them a smaller moveable Miter Table.
I had the same idea! Also a table saw stand that can connect to the modular workbenches and make them out feed tables
I'm going to build one now. It's raining out today so .going toget to work now. Thanks for the pointers
I like the build and am considering making one myself. The two things I would (will) add is dust collection and a tight fitting drawer under the saw for extra blades and blade wrenches. 😊
Nice video brother. It’s perfect for what I need. An inexpensive fully functioning miter station. I’ll probably walk mount one or two cabinets behind it using French cleats plus a battery charging station.
Thanks for the video and the plans. I just finished my mitre saw table and next up is the latching modular workbenches. That will be my project for this weekend. On the mitre saw table, I had to put adjustable legs on mine since the garage floor is uneven and I used sanded plywood for my tops and fence. I then put paste finishing wax on the whole thing and I like the way it turned out. Thanks again for the video and plans.
Thanks for sharing your plans for free. I looked at several other plans but chose this one because of the open bottom design that allowed me to slide in my mobile table saw cart. For this beginner, plan was easy and directions were clear. Thank you so much!
Great video! Not sure why I'm just seeing it 2 years later but at least I'm here now. Music doesn't bother me too much but I wouldn't mind if it were a bit lower. Here's a tip you might want to try (assuming it hasn't been suggested already): When you were gluing the legs together they slipped around a lot. After you spread the glue, sprinkle a "pinch" of table salt into the glue. Grains of salt are very sharp and will help eliminate the slippage while you get the clamps installed, then dissolve. Keep up the great work!
The graphic with the boards and where to put them is awesome! 👏🏻
I've learned a lot from you. Just bought a new miter saw but was very unhappy with the bulky miter tables in the stores. I can't wait to build your model. Thank you so much for the coaching!
Being a metal building guy, this channel is great for the bare bones wood working I’m starting to get into. You’re killing it! Happy I found your channel 🙏🏼
Thank you for the plans! The color-coding makes it so easy! Loved you video!
Very nice work and plans! May I suggest that you raise the height of the fence by 1/8 in. This allows sawdust to escape and not throw off your measuements along the board's length. Yes, one can clean out that space with a brush, but to make the plan perfect raise the fence by one eight of an inch to keep production going. You made the build very well done! Looking foreward to more builds!
Great suggestion. I would also add a half circle on the back side for the saw's power cord to go down and /or dust collection in the future. But this is a start and it really gets me in the right direction.
This is what I modeled my saw station after. Thank you
Sure is nice to see a young woodworker with so much knowledge. Explained and demonstrated very professionally!
Hello from Canada Zack. I want to send you a thank you for the GREAT video. I know this was 3 years ago, and you were just new to UA-cam but I have to say that you did an amazing job of explaining your process. Also your volume and music was not OVERPOWERING like so many other creators videos. The build was very easy to follow. And your plans are simple and clear, and adding in the part where you show the best way to maximize your 2x4’s was a very considerate addition. I took bits and pieces from your plans and made it my own. And that was the BEST part of this design, a very solid simple design that can be expanded on. MUCH APPRECIATED.
I've been wanting to build a bench just like this. Well done. I'm going to get your plans and get into it.
Thank you.
Great job
Perfect execution on what how and why to get from start to finish! Little lengthy but quality work
Makes me wish I had my old house back so I could build your amazing miter saw table. (That pocket hole jig sure makes your work look professional.) My favorite line: "This is also where I found out how uneven my shop floor is."
Thanks!
I really appreciate the super thanks!
Two things I really gained from this video, your comment about the uneven floor; same problem here. Then I really liked the simple idea of portable tool cabinets under the table(s). Harbor Freight has some stuff that will work well there.
I love the look of your assembly workbench and now you’re table saw/mitre station workbench. You’ve sold me on a new pocket hole jig. Thank you for sharing!
U DA MAN! I appreciate you brotha! I’m glad you finally got us a way to say thanks!! I talked to you via email not to long ago. I just said the people that appreciate the free plans like myself, would like to thank you with a little more than a thumbs up and subscribe! I could be wrong but I kinda got the feeling you we’re a little uncomfortable… like maybe it would seem like you were begging for money. (My words not yours)Either way glad you did. You’ve earned any money we send.
Eric, thanks an absolute ton my man! I’m glad you’re enjoying the content and the free plans. I really appreciate it! It’s guys like you that make all the time I put into the videos and plans worth it!
Breath of fresh air has come on to u tube ,about time everything I see is just great as I'm just starting out you have helped me with those free plans very much appreciated.billy from Scotland UK.
Your channel is amazing, I am learning so much from and growing in confidence…thank you
Nice! I'm going to turn my present work bench into a miter station. Great ideas for the build. I'm going to cut it into two separate tables for when I upgrade my miter saw. I enjoy your videos and I was thinking while watch that you always have some funky jams playing as well. So I like the music for what it's worth. Thanks for the channel.
I like the simplicity of your work. It's functional as well as strong. It also looks great. I'm enjoying watching your videos. I plan to use many of your designs. Thank you.
Awesome your work is second to none simply great may God continue to bless you and your family well done young man
I have the same saw as in this video. I will be following your plans to make this workbench. Thank you.
Good Looking Miter Saw Table I Will Bulid One Good VIDEO
Zach, actually was going to say that 17 min of that music was annoying, but you’ve already figured that out. Some folks use even worse music & so loud that no matter how great the skills, I move on to something that doesn’t scramble my brain while I’m trying to learn.
Speaking generally of all UA-cam videos.. If the content is good & the teacher is good, why add the distraction of mind numbing background noise? It’s a deterrent to their channels, not incentive to watch more.
With my rant out of the way… THANK YOU!! Love your style of instruction as well your brilliant plans. I AM now subscribed & a committed fan!!
“Let’s keep going!” 😉 👍🏼👍🏼
I appreciate the praise and the suggestion! I’ll keep them coming!
Exceptional video! I'm in early retirement and have recently fallen in love with DIY projects. I've watched hundreds of videos on UA-cam and elsewhere. I like the speedups through the actual build with the narration. I didn't notice the music. I was to busy watching the excellent craftmanship and attention to detail. I subscribed and hope to see many more videos from your channel. Oh, and thans for the free plans!
Thanks! Welcome aboard!
Would love to see a miter saw / table saw combo table. That would be absolutely perfect for my garage. You explain things better than any channel here. Keep up the great work. Essayons.
Great idea I’ll probably do that in the future
I have seen several working bench for my storage outside and i think this one are the easiest one to build.
Having a saw table as well so this would fit perfect, but maybe im going to be building flip-flop table there the table saw are? Since i have small place.
Thanks for the idea!
as usual awesome plans and work. Thanks Bear Moutain builds.
Just came across your video, I like the straightforward approach you've done. Build seems pretty solid and well thought out. Good work, I have hit the subscribe button!
I didn't mind the music and thanks for creating the video. I will be using your design for my table.
Thanks. Just what I’ve been looking for!
Zach, Just a thought but how about maybe building some kind of platform behind the fence to allow for a toolbox or maybe some kind of shelving?
I absolutely love this table layout. I'm probably going to do mine with a white melamine board (It's what's available) for this build. I'm considering using melamine for the modular workbenches as well.
Yes, great video. I love the look of the new miter saw bench.
This is the second time I’ve watched your channel and I have learned a few things and liked the products that you are making. I even purchased the Kreg pocket hole deluxe package for some previous jobs I’ve made and will be nice to use it again with some of your plans that I downloaded, thank you by the way. Also thank you for sharing your passion with all of us, as I can speak for most of us. We love woodworking, getting out of the house and build something with our own two hands. You have made it easier for us to do that!
Just found your channel and you've definitely got the camera and editing skills. I think I may do a modified version of this. I'm thinking the base for the saw will get its own legs, the sides will have the rockler step casters, and use the toggle latches like on your modular assembly table build. This way they can serve multiple purposes. Sometimes I just need that bit more assembly room! Also nice to see someone finally build something at a reasonable work height. I'm 6'5" and feel your pain with all of the kitchen counter height stuff. My 42" tall saw horses always annoy my Father In Law.
I built 2 stands similar to that for my aquariums to sit on, all I had to work with was a black & decker 3/8 drive drill, a Rockwell 4-1/2" circular saw, and a 25ft. Stanley tape measure, materials were 2X4s and 3" woodscrews, both stands have been holding up 2,100lbs. of water for the last 10 years, and are as strong now as the day I built them with untreated lumber, 😀
BRO IT IS FREAKING AWESOME !
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Dude love your videos
It’s teaching me a lot
Like I have no business touching the this stuff
But I’m trying
Thanks! You got this man!
Hola! 🖐Really nice build, thanks for sharing this video. I'll be building a workbench inspired by yours first BUT soon after I'll be moving to a miter station similar to what you have here. I like the way you built that fence, great job. Take care and have a good one, Adios!👊
Nice build vid (albeit, music was … eh, sorry, my opinion). Liked your sequencing, moving from step to step and explaining. You stated you were new to this, looking good so far. Nicely done.
Just finished the miter table I like it 😊
I found your videos driving back from out of town and you have helped me so much in the past few builds. Appreciate what u do
So glad I found this awesome design and fantastic video.
Good work bench!
I agree about the music!
Overall I think I'll use the same idea for my miter saw!
Thanks for the information!
Kevin Barron
A+ except for not using a countersink bit before screws, LOL. This is really a great option for a cheap bench. I'm doing similar but no need to double the 'legs'. It's over kill and waste of lumber. However, at least we can afford 2x4's again in 2024.
Thank you young man for the plans.
Great video! I noticed you had some splitting of the particle board when you added the first screw on the left fence. Just a suggestion but after drilling your pilot holes, use trim screws near the edges. They have smaller heads and won’t cause that split like the drywall screws did.😊
I like it. One suggestion put a relief cut at the bottom of the fence to help with dust buildup.
That’s a great idea!!
Thanks for the video..the music is a bit much but still a great job. Thanks
I’m thinking of making a shorter modular miter saw table to match up to the modular bench top as shown in your other video (Modular Workbench for Beginners)
Love the video, especially the ideas for removable fence. Can you explain more about adjusting the height of the saw base? Mine has rubber feet that actually make it higher than I want for what it would take to build support wings with standars dimensioned boards.
Thanks
You just need to measure the height from the base of your saw to the top surface of its saw platform. That’s the dimension you need to instal the tables saw platform from the top
First video i have seen from you.
Loved the breakdown animation!!!!
A good thing would be to convert all measurements to metric in text :)
I like your table(s). Pretty much what I want to build so will follow your plans. You mentioned that you got some rough edges from the circular saw when cutting the melamine faced board. That's probably because you have to turn the board upside down so that the circular sawblade cuts into the melamine not out of it, giving break out.
Wow, that intro just never ended :)
Great video and presentation.
Thank for the build. I purchased your plans and am looking forward to building it
You are doing great. Thank you for the useful info!
I like your format. Too many woodworking UA-camrs on here are really boring. You kept my attention. Keep it up!
Thanks!!
If you sprinkle table salt on the glued surface the studs will not slide when you clamp..weird but it works.. great video
This video was sooo long and sooo detailed... Love it!! I'm definitely going to use this to build my own. Thanks, man.
bs
@@lenne02 What is?
Zach thanks for the plans. Appreciate you!
I enjoyed the video and would like to get the plans thanks
I love your builds, I am new to woodworking but will be building this mitre saw bench. I love the plans, they are color coded and so easy to follow. Thank you
where do you find the plans?
So having just watched your other video with the two benches that can be clasped together I'm thinking that if I build that project then all I have to do is build a much smaller miter table to slip in between the two workbenches and clasp them together whenever I need to. So far I've enjoyed the only two videos of yours that I've seen which has prompted me to subscribe. Nice work!
Glad you’re liking them!! That’s a great idea too, if you want to save room in your shop
Very clear directions! I feel like I can go build one of these on my own!
Great work and God bless you. Bottom line
I'm in the midle of my build and realized while I was cutting wood that if I ran the 2 X 4's through my joiner to square up the edges, which is a great idea, the length for the shorter fron and back legs needs to be adjusted. Also, I have been using 2 1/2" screw instead of the 3" in the plans because 2 stacked 2 X 4's is 3" and I felt the screw would blow out especially on the legs. I have completed all my framing and will pick up the melamine soone to complete the build. Thanks for the plans. Thom
I was wondering about the screw length too, especially since you ran the 2x4s through the planer!
Thank you for sharing these plans for free.
New subscriber here!
Welcome aboard!
Doing a great job. Enjoying your videos
Made it in 11 hours and I am early diyer! Great video great plans
Love the extra explanation using animation! Thank you this clarifies a lot, probably building a similar bench soon.
Loved your explanation. I want to build one.
Awesome video. Downloaded your plans and would like to thank you for taking the time to add metric measurements to the plan. This is going to be my first big build of the festive season. Cheers!
Another great video. Being a newbie woodworker I find your teaching easy to follow. Thanks so much for sharing. Please keep up the good work. Oh, and what is your ripping (track saw) set up? Thanks. Bob
I just use this saw guide with my battery powered circular saw.
amzn.to/4h9bv3w
Thank you for your free plan.
