What match do you think was better at WrestleMania 19 - HBK and Y2J or Brock Lesnar & Kurt Angle? Sound off in the comments!
Lesnar angle
Brock - Kurt.
Defintely HBK and Y2J - Lesnar and Angle was really good, but not near better.
Vince vs Hogan
HBK and Y2J was better.
The botch is memorable in Lesnar vs Angle and it's largely what makes the match more memorable.
But the better overall match was HBK/Y2J
Shawn Micheals voice impression may not be the best but that facial impression is A1 lmaoo
Agreed. Rvd is the funniest for sure tho.
I don't quite know what it is, but I could listen to Jericho tell stories for hours. Something about the way he tells them is so engaging to me
true
Talk is Jericho baby
Agreed. I have a couple of his books and it’s hard to put them down.
I really enjoyed his book A Lions Tale he released around 2007 just prior to returning to WWE. If you like his stories, its a great read. I don't remember precisely, but he may have written it himself without ghost writer but dont quote me in that. Still a good read.
Yeah same. I'm not even a huge fan of him nowadays. But I love his story tell lol.
Chris Jericho is up there with Paul Heyman when it comes to people I could listen to talk about wrestling all day long.
Great story tellers and the same goes for many other pro-wrestlers.
I cant stand listening to heyman, but that could be cause hes a fellow new yorker like me and we despise each other for no good reasons, its our nature… He has a similar accent and similar bluntness and even tho so many of us speak like that, we hate hearing other ppl tht do too, so maybe thts why
@@justlift213 I love that he openly admits that he's an asshole inside and outside the business. He just sounds like a dick, but he is very entertaining.
@@justlift213 its weird how new york works like that. I'm from england and personally I prefer listening to someone with a british accent to an american accent but thats just because I'm used to it.
I like RVD as well
That match was amazing. And the ending where Jericho still got his heat with the kick in the nuts was fantastic.
He is one of the best storyteller's inside and outside the ring
Oh yeah he is telling great stories in aew like the inner circle Jericho the boy band society using every gimmick he ever used sorry but are Jericho is a joke in the ring
No he is not..he is quite horrible (in the ring)...
Jericho has put on tons of great matches. I broke my sides laughing when the "ball shot" finish he described at WM19 transitioned into a clip of "A LOTTA BALLS ... HE'S GOTTA LOTTA BALLS TO DO THAT"
You mean....the best at spinning his own bullshit.
Same with Bitchoff and the Schister Heyman.
That is what con men do....
Jericho was a really cool face in 2000 but he was also an amazing heel in 2003 and an even better heel in 2008.
09' too
And was an even more awesome heel in 2016
Man of 1,001 Holds is still my favorite incarnation of Chris Jericho. Not to take anythibg away ftom any of his other versions.
@@mikemiken1963 1,004, actually
Le champión is pretty damn good.
That look that Shawn gives Jericho at the end of that match was SOOO GOOD!!!
8:56 - Jericho does not do a very good Michaels impression but he does do one helluva McMahon impression.
I swear every wrestler has an amazing McMahon voice. Never seen someone who worked for him do a bad impression they're always so spot on
It's like Vince required it so he knew you could draw him money.
Ok, I jest.
not many people can get away with being so confident in themselves saying how good they are. but y2j can because he's the goat and he knows it. love his stories
He is far from the goat lol
Shawn Michaels is far and away the best performer in Mania history and it's not even remotely close. After his comeback from the back injury, he had 8 matches at the show and he put on the best match on the show arguably every year except the one when he worked with Vince and even that was pretty good for what it was meant to be.
Every f***ing year, imagine that and at least 5 of those are undisputed. And over his career he's had 10+ match of the year performances at Mania. I don't think anyone else has even half that.
how were the ticket sales during his reigns again?
@@omegamark9178 That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. I am not arguing that he was a great draw.
@@omegamark9178are you dense?
@@omegamark9178There’s a difference between being the best draw and being the best worker. Bret Hart didn’t draw worth a damn neither, but between the ropes, it is hard to compete with the likes of Bret and Shawn. You need both big draws and great workers, a company with 20 Hulk Hogans or 20 John Cena isn’t going to do shit. You need your Guerreros, your Kurt Angles, your Harts, your Michaels as well to have a complete product.
Michaels is a tag team specialist who only got to the top of the card because WCW bought out the more popular wrestlers.
Wrestlemania 19 was the first Wrestlemania I watched live, and I remember being blown away by that match
I still have this nagging question... did Jericho return the pen he borrowed?
If you sit & observe Chris Jericho’s catalogue/career.. different promotions, indies, countless classic moments, matches & rivalries across the business.. There should be NO DOUBT IN ANYONES MIND that he is the *GOAT* 🐐 no question
You people will type anything just because you have fingers. No the hell he is not.
@@teedubb71 What he's said is a fact with a solid statement. Not an opinion. Y2J achieved massive accomplishments whether you like him or not.
@@machinegunkiss7972 I dunno man, in his prime everyone thought he sucked
@@petebagwell6666 That includes me lol. But it's going so well with his gimmick. I used to hate him so much through the late 90s to 2000s. Maybe I just love his high-flying technical wrestling style as the main card when it's surrounded by too many powerhouse wrestlers. His run as Undisputed Champion is bs for me at that time, Especially when he has to go through The Rock and Steve Austin but it is actually lively in the late attitude era at the same time.
People don't realize how much Jericho has contributed to this business. I've always said never trust Jericho as a baby face he is definitely a much better heel. But there's just something about the guy you got to respect.
He's one of the smartest guys in the business, no question.
Agree Babyface Jericho is cool imo but heel Jericho is a whole different breed I love Jericho as a heel
@@MLaak86 He's saying his snooze fest with Michaels was better than Angle Lesner.
@@redrick8900 Angle Lesnar botched the finish so hard it almost killed Lesnar my guy. It’s between HKB vs Jericho and Austin vs Rock.
@@horseaphoenix1016 Botching the Finish doesn't make the match worse. Foley falling through the cell against the Undertaker was a botch. You don't know jack about wrestling. Angle Lesner is one of the best matches ever. Nothing else on that card is even close.
I was there in person, 14 years old that night in Seattle.
Chris is right. Their match stole the show. And it was a damn good Mania... arguably the 2nd best ever.
Jokes aside. Jericho may never was face of the company but he brought to that business more than any guy out there. 52 years old and still kicking it. Mad respect.
You are delusional my man.
I wouldn’t say more than anyone, but he’s definitely given a lot to the business
Undertaker was never face of wwe either
@mikebadaoa8525 nah I was a kid around the time undertaker hit his second prime him and cena were the faces between 07-09 together
@@SauceGod22 cena wss the face of wwe from 2005 to 2016 . Orton was the second.biggest name . Undertakrer was thr cornerstone but never face of any era
Chris should have a stand up special where he talks about his career
His Fozzie tour and JeriCruise is basically that, except with added music performance and actual wrestling
Lol no
@@carloscjr23 yes…
When he imitated Shawn, I was like: "Yeah, I could totally see Shawn saying that".
The beauty of it is that there were many amazing matches. Shawn vs Chris told the best story and emotion. But kurt vs brock stole the show man fr
Shawn and Jericho should run NXT together, Shawn comes up with the beginning and Jericho comes up with the end.
It won't happen he's ruining his legacy in AEW

Man, I love listening to Chris Jericho. His storytelling skill is amazing. I would listen to him telling stories about anything forever.
A lot of wrestlers can tell great stories I noticed, especially if you have been in the business for a while !
@@MrManfly I agree. They're all good in telling stories, but I specifically love Chris Jericho the most. His stories and experiences are all great.
Jake the snake is a great story teller. If he ever does a speaking tour again, and you can go see him, I highly recommend it. I got to speak to him before a show and the charisma he has is off the charts. I like him better than Hogan in the 80s
@@redeastwood4850his episode on Rogan was what got me into wrestling at 34 years old
Thanks so much for dropping the intros on these videos!
Jericho was my favourite in 2003. I always thought he would’ve had a way better career for the next few years if he went over clean at XIX
Would’ve been hard mind you elevating him on RAW when Triple H and Evolution were going strong
I do, in a way, feel like Chris Jericho should've had more World Championship reigns in WWE. I know he's a 4x World Champion there but I personally feel that they could've given Jericho more World Title reigns & better booking overall.
I met Jericho outside a fozzy gig in Manchester England. (At the time the place was called mojos, i think!) genuinely a great guy and could easily have stood there for hours and no doubt had more beer!
What a storyteller Chris Jericho is!!!👏👏👏
Jericho is so good to listen to. Would love to just sit and chat to him about wrestling and music.
One of my favourite wrestlers ever. Top 5.
He got to wrestle 2 of his 3 biggest influences
Jericho the kind of guy to bottle and save his own farts.
Jericho has the best whiny sounding voice when he yells.
Cry more.
@@altergeist5581 don't think he was being negative dude 🤣. Stay toxic though.

I remember watching the match, and the whole storyline.. its one of the best storylines/matches I've ever watched WrestleMania or any show..
Jericho: I lost to HHH, I lost to Austin
Also Jericho: Beat Rock and Austin on the same night
Such a great storyteller
Dicks Sporting Goods is a popular sports store out here in Washington State! I grew up here. Pretty cool connection because he's talking about being in Seattle for Mania in my home city : )
do u live stream these?
Jericho is Jericho’s biggest fan
I’m not real sure what he’s talking about when he says Michaels had only had one match since coming back out of retirement. Not only did he have the match at summer slam with Hunter, but he had the first elimination chamber match at survivor series and he had a match on television with Rob Van Damme, and he had the match at Armageddon with Hunter. I’m not sure if he had any other television matches or matches at the rumble or no Way out but he definitely had more than just one match.
I think he may have meant just one on one non-gimmicked match.
But he did not say that. He just said match. But even if that were the case, he had a one on one regular match with Rob Van Dam on a Monday episode of wrestling for the world heavyweight title. So no matter what way you put it? Jericho was wrong. He might’ve had more. I cannot remember off the top of my head about the weekly television shows or at the rumble on the way out. But either way it was not a correct statement.
I enjoy hearing the stories Jericho has 🎙️💯💯💯👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great storyteller, wrestler & funny as hell.
Lol His impersonation of Shawn 😂
The whole rivalry between Y2J vs HBK was great
Gotta agree this is my fav match of all time !
Well, HBK actually had 4 matches before he and Jericho started their feud, but who's counting? (Btw, Just incase you're wondering, those matches were - HBK/HHH @ SS '02, Elimination Chamber @ Survivor Series 2002, RVD about a week after Survivor Series on Raw for the World title, and Armageddon 2002 against Triple H where he dropped the title)
I don't even remember that match .
But recall the Brock and Kurt match.
I don’t see how this is “controversial “
Clickbait
Such a great match. Jericho giving him sweet chin music was an awesome spot. As a young kid I was pissed he did that lol
Spot for spot, HBK vs Jericho was match of the night at WM19.
Lesnar/Angle gets downgraded due to Lesnar's moonsault botch.
18 year old me was at that WrestleMania, and I agree - Y2J vs. HBK was the best match of the night. There were some other good ones, but that one took the cake 😎
Here is my controversial opinion: the best match at Wrestlemania 19 was not Jericho vs. HBK or Lesnar vs. Angle or Austin vs. Rock. It was actually Hogan vs. Vince.
I agree. That was peak sports entertainment.
Vince was in the best shape of his life for that match .
Vince peaking over the apron with his face covered in blood with that evil look on his face was golden!
Crazy to think that HBK only had his debut 5 years before Jericho did.
Keep up the good work
I will never forget the finish of that match, so he’s right. That was the perfect finish to that story. At least in my opinion
Jericho is a great storyteller and a storyfaker. I'm not going to say he made this whole thing up, but some parts such as borrowing someone's pen and his animated conversation with Vince. He knows how to make ordinary stories interesting and oversell himself.
So he's a great storyteller
The way people describe vince McMahon make me think of Mr krabs. I'm starting to wonder if Mr krabs is inspired by Vince lol
His storytelling is hilarious, im crackn up right now 😂
I kind of figured out the Shawn Michaels imitation in his WCW years.
funny enough this is the match that makes WM 19 my most fav WM of all time... combined with Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar and when RVD and Kane were a tag team opening match... wm19 cards were all amazing for me. but Jericho vs HBK was the king of all kings show for me.
Shouldn't you guys at least mention when the video was recorded?
I remember that match and the buildup to it. It was phenomenal. But their 2008 program may have been even better. That was one of the best programs I ever saw.

Yeah, Jericho versus Michaels was a great match! Not sure of it was my fave or not, but it certainly rocked! My brother and I were there, as well as RAW the next night🤘
I was as well. My favorite part of the whole thing was at Raw the next night, there was a sign high up in the lower bowl about three sections from us. "HBK - Had Balls Kicked". Still remember how much joy that brought me and my buddies. Great, great wrestling weekend.
@@hairbobv1 At 'mania we were about 20-something rows back from ring, and I had the standard "Trish marry me" sign lol. At raw we were 3 rows up just off floor, directly opposite the entrance stage. It was all a blast!
Thank you Jericho
🤣🤣🤣 that Vince impression
The crowd clapping everytime a name of a wrestler is mentioned annoys me for some reason.
Give them their due though, even this crowd didn't give a single applause for Fenix, Nick Jackson and Sammy Guevara despite the wrestler formerly known as Jericho attempting to get those gymnasts a pop 😂
Human nature. Hall of Fame speeches are about as bad, "clap/scream/applause,, laugh even when not funny, when bored scream WHAT!?".
Fun fact, HBK vs Jericho was the longest match on the card.
Both world title matches, Austin vs Rock 3, and Vince vs Hogan all went on after that.
Shawn Michaels had plenty of matches before his feud with Jericho though. Didn't he have a title run? He won the World Championship in late 2002.
I believe he had 3 matches prior to his feud with Jericho. Summerslam with Triple H, The Elimination chamber at Survivor series where he won the world title and 3 stages of Hell at Armageddon with Triple H where he lost the title. Then there was the royal Rumble 2003 match that made their feud official.
It was his first mania match in 4 years where the show was wayyy bigger (WrestleMania 14 had about 19,000 in attendance where as WrestleMania 19 has 54,000)
And up to that point he had really only wrestled Triple H, the person he trusts the most, 1v1
Shawn should have won the wwe championship a couple times at least after 2002
@@blacksabbath4252 Me as a kid not knowing that he explicitly didn't want the title again would get so mad when he'd get so close to winning the title against people like Randy, Cena, Edge, Triple H, Jericho, etc in the 2004-2010 range. Especially at Backlash 2007 that one had 13 year old me h e a t e d.
Or it'd be infuriating (as a fan) finishes or stipulations. Ex: both men's shoulders down on the pin against Triple H on Raw 12/29/03, or against Orton with Cyber Sunday 07 (DQ finish by low blow) and Survivor Series 07 where sweet chin music was banned
@@rickylyon3846 You forgot a match on Raw against RVD one week after Survivor Series.

Shawn most certainly had not had one match since he came back in 2002 he wrestled at survivorseries and won the first ever elimination chamber match to become the world Heavyweight champion he also wrestled hhh at armagedon where he lost the title back to hhh in the 3 stagesof hell match and then he was in the 2003 royal rumble
we just re uploading videos with different titles now?
I watched Wrestlemania 19 live and clearly remember HBK vs Y2J as far and away the best match. In fact Austin vs The Rock 3 was incredibly disappointing compared to it. 2 genuine greats who could raise the level of whoever they were in the ring with to have a great match. Dream match
My favorite match of all time. It was like Vince Neil vs Axl Rose.
Does Jericho have his own podcast ? Man can tell a story
HBK was 37 years old when he faced Jericho at mania, for context, Roman Reigns is 37 years old right now.
I preferred Jericho HBK to the main event, but I think I was burnt out by main event cuz I'd seen that and Austin Rock
Chris Jericho's number one fan? Chris Jericho.
I agree the story was perfect
Botch or not, brock vs angle was the best match that year.
That segment on Raw that Jericho keeps saying it was the highlight reel and Jericho keeps hating on Shawn and then Shawn super kicks him, wasn’t a highlight reel at all. It was actually just a regular segment on Raw where Shawn is calling out Triple H for a rematch to their fantastic 3 stages of Hell match at Armageddon, but Jericho comes out instead, he berates HBK, and then tells him how he was inspired by HBK, but then calls him “Has Been Kid” then HBK hits him with Sweet Chin Music, and bam the segment is over.
Now I’m just trying to imagine Lance Storm with tassels
There 2008 rivalry was million times better than there 2003 rivalry
WWE had become unwatchable long before 2008. 2003 was the last great year.
@@carter3369 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤥🤥🤥
I think what gave the '08 rivalry such vigor was how it served two very important purposes, it gave Jericho a HUGE arc on par to main-event level for his first full calendar year back, at the same time it gave Shawn a very creative bridge between arguably his two most memorable Roads to Wrestlemania. From the moment Chris chose to ref the Backlash match with Dave in April all the way to No Mercy in October, that's iconic long-term storytelling and didn't even need a Wrestlemania.
@@carter3369 Wrong it was still watchable and great till 08

Awesome match!
Wrestlemania XIX was truly the best Wrestlemania front to back without any gimmick matches like X-Seven. ...Besides Undertaker being paired with the greenest person ever & having his worst WM match up until that point besides Giant Gonzales & Big Bossman & the finish to HHH v Booker T.
Were you watching the same WrestleMania 19 I was watching, because Vince vs Hogan has a Street fight on that show.
17 was the best one and the best show they ever did, it's like the grand finale of wrestling
If only Taker had a quality opponent that year, like Randy Orton or John Cena... cause I was at WM XIX in person, and as badly as I want to call it the best ever, there's just a few things that prevent it from beating 17. With Taker vs. A Train & Big Slow being one of them.
Triple H burying Booker T after being a racist POS throughout the entire build was lame too.
Other than that, it was a great show!
michaels vs Jericho had a great match at mania
I was there, it was the best match I've ever seen live.
Give me this all day everyday
Lmfaoooooo shawn kicks me in the face and then dances
He’s sorta right lol it was the best match, but it was tied as the best match with like 4 other matches. Booker and hhh was fantastic minus the end. Leanne and angle was a clinic on wrestling. Austin and rock was Austin and fuckin rock. And the secret weapon of the show was the hulk and Vince street fight . All those matches were AMAZING. Especially that booker and hhh match. I just really wish booker won but other than that it was amazing story telling
Completely agree
this is my favorite match ever
You know I came in here expecting him to detract from the HBK match and instead I got an amazingly bad but still Awesome HBK impression.
О, бейджики снова в моде.
Jericho really is as dramatic in real life as he is in the ring.
Exactly you could tell he speaks the true
better listening to him talk than sing i have to admit lol
Jericho is funny.
My honest opinion, I felt the match was cooking a little too long before it really got exciting. I need to rewatch it though.
Him winning could have kept him a heel if he still ended the match that way. If when he lost, he didn't kick him after that hug, it was a surefire face turn
Shawn: How can their match be better than ours when the finish of the match was a guy landing on his f*cking head.
Me: The same way your Mania 25 match with Taker is the greatest Mania match of all time even though it had a guy landing on his f*cking head
It was the best match of that Mania
