I was a practice squad dummy at UW-La Crosse. Had no idea when Whitewater came to town we were against a coaching staff that would eventually turn around Kansas and had an OC that would eventually be running the offense at Penn State. Leipold is one hell of a coach. Glad to see he hasn't been lured away from Kansas (though there are several other Power 4 schools who interviewed and passed him up while he was at Buffalo). But after all of their suffering, Kansas' fan base deserves to have some success.
Fun Fact: UWW was so dominate during the Lance Leipold run that ESPN came out to campus to map out a potential College Gameday from campus. Unfortunately the plans fell through.
No way there run was better than mounts, Mount has been on a run since 1993 and still dominating D3, 54 and 55 game win streaks back to back. This ones not even close.

even though mt. union's is a lot longer lasting, I think the reason wisconsin-whitewater is emphasized is just how dominant they were in the span of less than a decade
Went to Whitewater as a recruit with my QB and visited for a playoff game, after they lost I had no contact for any visit or any meet up with the coaches or team after the game…shit program

The majority of us left starting positions and scholarships (at D1’s & D2’s) to take a chance at winning a National Championship under Coach Liepold. We paid our own way and won it all. Out of all divisions and all players, there are less than 1% every year who win a National Championship. And I’ll bet my Championship ring against you on your best day, that you couldn’t beat me. And you certainly couldn’t beat the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. And your favorites can’t do what we already did. Go Hawks 4 Life. Oh and one last thing, don’t forget to kiss the ring.
UM-Duluth won a couple national titles for football. Probably not much of story there but maybe? Lol. Cool video, being from Wisconsin I always cheer for any of our teams (except the brewers)

Mount is 380-20 since 1993 with 13 national titles. No doubt, WWW had a nice run but Mount has been every bit as dominant for more than 20 years.
