I still can't believe we almost got Billy Dee Williams as Two Face. Given how well Burton adapted Joker, Penguin, and Catwoman, I would have loved to see this version of the character.
I wouldn't really say that Burton's adaptations of the characters were great, but I do definitely think it would've been interesting to see Williams' get a proper chance in the role of Two-Face!

Although I don't personally enjoy them, or view them as good adaptations, because they aren't really all too accurate to the source material. No hate towards Burton though. Love his work, but I just don't personally enjoy these takes on these particular characters!

I’ve done videos mentioning that and it was a mixed bag. Batman Returns turned off some parents and was considered a financial let down to what they planned. McDonald’s and other companies in the deal was also a huge factor, but tough to say in a minute.

Yes, he was originally known as Mr. Zero, but for the Batman television series, they changed his name to Mr. Freeze. Which I agree with. I never agreed with the change to the bat logo on his chest. Where they added the yellow oval which wasn’t in the comics. That creative change ended up going the reverse way in the comics for another 20 years till “The Dark Knight Returns” finally brought back the original design.

Burton wasn’t fired after Batman returns. He remained on the franchise as an executive producer for the next two films and wanted to direct other projects.
Mr. Williams got off lucky; he dodged being in the first of the garbage Batman movies and got an easy million outta it. Plus, he eventually became officially what the true fans have known that he IS from the start, the Burton-verse/Batman '89/Earth 89 Harvey Dent, and he got to actually play Two Face in The Lego Batman Movie. I call all that a win, for him, and for us.
I usually don’t like the race swap of characters because to me it (most of the time) feels very forced. But I think that Dee Willam’s would have made a great Harvey dent. This is one of those few times imo that race swap wails have worked. And know how Tim Burton handled the other movies, he prolly would’ve dove a good job with this version of the character!

Why can you never get your facts straight. It's not that Two-Face wasn't allowed to the be in the Adam West series, and the producers didn't deem him too scary for kids. The actual reason was because it simply wasn't possible to do Two-Face in live action with the limitations at the time. They did attempt it with William Shatner in the role who would be brought back to voice the character years later but the make up kept coming off and was too expensive to keep redoing on their budget. Also Mr. Freeze was not created to replace him. He was already a character in the comics and his episodes were entirely separate. If anything False-Face was created to replace Two-Face. And as someone else in the comments already pointed out Tim Burton's movies were actually very successful but he was fired because his movies were too dark for kids and they wanted to make the sequels appeal more to kids.
Billy is a great actor. I don't see fictional characters having to stay a certain race. If they can change the costumes depending on the director and production then they can change the characters representation.

The likenesses for other characters weren't as faithful, though. Bruce Wayne doesn't really look like Michael Keaton, and for some reason has white hair on his temples like Mr. Fantastic. They did use Michael Gough's likeness for Alfred, but gave him a thick mustache. A Commissioner Gordon looks more like the actor from Gotham than Pat Hingle
I‘m Bisexual myself and I have an problem with Luke being Gay. This Character exists like 40 years and most of that time he was portrait as straight and I’m a huge fan of the EU and love Mara Jade. Turning him Gay feel really out of place for me. And what’s the point his story is already told from start to the end, just label him is very cheap and lazy representation. I have a crush on Anakin since I was a kid and while I would love to see him making him out with another men or can imagine him being gay I know he isn’t. If Disney decides making Anakin gay I would still see him as straight because he always was. The same is goes for Luke. I belong to the group the representation should address and not even I like it. If Disney wanted representation they should create new (good writing and sympathetic) characters like Val and Cinta from Andor. And I wouldn’t say Luke being gay ruin his character (Last Jedi already does) saying that is very homophobic and Disney can use these phrases to blame the fans for being toxic
