Soul Searching: Sekiro Shadows Die Twice

Greetings, loyal shinobi, unsheathe your blade and raise it in defence of your master whose life is threatened by numerous unknown enemies. Cry in the dark night, that which will be the last thing your enemies hear before you blade slides into their flesh or clashes with their own before meeting an untimely end. You must push beyond the pain, the exhaustion, the desire to simply give into despair and the fact that your life will be filled with only bloodshed and sorrow. Rise once more, enter the shadows to stalk your prey and send them to their final destination because death for you is never final. No, you walk the path of one both blessed and cursed by the dragon for the path you walk will never deviate from death, whether it be yours or of those around you.
Welcome to Soul Searching for Sekio: Shadow’s die twice. In this video, I will examine my relationship with the game, my personal experiences and any sort of life lessons I learned or ones that were reinforced by the game. I will then look into the souls of the developers to see what they had intended when they made the game and whether or not they achieved their goals.

So it's very funny that you started this video by talking about my experience with the game alongside your own, because Sekiro has been on my mind a lot recently. I did actually finish the game back when it first came out, but only with cheats on, so it doesn't count. However, the Sekiro vinyl soundtrack was recently restocked and I was able to order a copy, and so my interest in the game has picked back up over the past couple of months or so. I've reinstalled the game, and even wiped all the achievements I had so that if I do decide to retry it, I'll really be starting from square one again. My hope is that I have a lot more experience with parrying now, and I know to basically treat Sekiro like a rhythm game rather than a Souls-like. I know it's still going to be a huge learning curve, so I'm saving it for when I feel like I have the capacity and patience to properly try it again.

It's always funny to me when I'm reminded that some FromSoft fans were disappointed in this game because it wasn't Dark Souls when my main experience with it was moderating a streamer playing through it and having a good time with a cool game. I'm very curious to see what FromSoft does next because if it isn't Elden Ring 2, then I feel history will repeat.
