It's only frustrating until the moment it "clicks", usually in the fight against Genichiro on top of Ashina Castle. After the click, the game becomes the best game ever made. I recommend any Sekiro fans to try out Lies of P.-
I almost rage quit at the first Genichiro fight. I did bite my controller and slammed it on the floor a couple times. I ended up beating all the endings.
@@JackMeoff46 Genichiro is the great gatekeeper in Sekiro for sure. It is the ultimate test were you have to apply everything you learnt so far. If you can beat him, the rest of the game is a cake walk.

@@ahmedbadr5916 I think that is around where I gave up also. The problem with the game is how the bosses have two stages. When you struggle with the second stage you have to replay the first stage every time which makes "gitting gud" with the first stage do-able, but it impedes getting good with the second stage. I got sick of replaying the first stages so many times just to try to progress.
Sekiro was my first soulslike game, i didn't knew it falls under the soulslike genre until my viewers told me. If i knew it, i would've skipped the game but thankgod i wasnt aware of that i got to experience such a beautiful & challenging game. The level of difficulty was something i've never experienced before, the level of satisfaction after completing this game is beyond words. Now after watching your video i think i wont feel that level of difficulty again in other soulslike games.
If you can get through Sekiro, you can definitely get through any of the other souls games. I've played through most FromSoft games, excluding Demon Souls and DS2, and they are definitely a bit easier. I'd argue this is because you can change your builds and dodging is king. Sekiro is either you learn to parry or you don't beat it.
Sekiro has left a void in me that no other game after has been able to fill. They stripped it down and really focused on the combat. The parry/posture system is near flawless. The brutal difficulty made it a very rewarding experience. I hope and pray everyday for a part 2 or at least some dlc.
Same, i play sekiro first before know what is souls like game, i play it because i see my friend play sekiro, after that i play ds 1 and ds 2, and now ds 3 in progress
I just beat lies of p the other day with the true ending. And I gotta say, it was an absolute masterpiece. And it’s my first soulslike game I ever beaten fully. Highly recommend.
I'm agree with you, althrough I'm not very good at Soulslike games, I've almost finished Lies of P too and I must defeat Laxtasia the Complete. It liked me more than Nioh and Elden Ring.
I played Sekiro and I hated it at first because of how difficult it was. Its not a game where you can move up your way through brute combatting. I must’ve played the Chained Ogre fight like 50+ times for 3 days every day straight. Then I started realizing that the game is not about attacking, it’s about defending and parrying. Once you figure this out, its literally music from there! Sekiro kicks so much ass that I played and finished the game like 8-9 times after I finished it for the first time. Then Sekiro became too easy, I gave up the Kuro charm and activated the demonic bell which increased the difficulty to even more higher level, but I managed it to finish it as well. I’ve played a shit ton of games but Sekiro takes the prize!
Elden Ring was too long one summer, so I lost interest. Now, I'm replaying it again after beating Sekiro 4 times to get all the endings. Elden Ring is simple compared to Sekiro, but once you get Sekiro's combat down, it's one of the most amazing games you'll ever play.
Dude ………. You forgot getting 106% in Crash Bandicoot 4. Hardest gaming challenge I have ever attempted .. ever. Have fun getting all platinum relics on that
@@Hatersdk Really? Which is the hardest then? Maybe you said that cuz u didn't play Lies of P when it came out. It was definitely harder than any souls. Sekiro is the only one who can arguably be the hardest one but I don’t put it into the same soulslike genre as the others.
@@f2pkx463 Yeah but it is still the hardest at the begginig. And even so, I wouldn’t say “easier”. You just adapt to the gameplay but it is still hard enough. Just look at Ishin or Hatred demon. You could have 50 hours into the game and still have a bad time with them.
@@dirtyhappinessSame. I was on the Ninja Gaiden Black version. I think the hardest difficulty level was easier than the second hardest for some reason. It was easier to cheese the bosses with the way they made them behave trying to make it harder. It's like they never let them block and they just attacked the whole time.
@@dirtyhappinessDid you like the sequel? I beat Ninja Gaiden Black on every difficulty when I was in a halfway house but couldn't bring myself to finish the second. The Sigmas were trash as well. I can't understand what they were thinking making a masterpiece worse with every change they decided to make.
I remember getting stuck for 2 days on Sekiro's final boss 😆 i was about to quit then i found a really good strategy and was able to beat Isshin in less than 5 minutes 😊
Lol, what about me, 89 hours of gameplay on my first run through the game, i was stuck at asshin for nearly 25 days trying for about an hour then rage quitting
Elden Ring was my first souls-like game. I found it challenging, but once I got into the groove, it was pretty fun and the level of difficulty didn't seem nearly as high as I was lead to believe. Lies of P is definitely on my to-do list.
I started elden ring a couple of weeks ago, the graphics and mechanics seemed pretty good however i just can't get into it, I'm a kbm player and it's just so hard for me, I'm just tired of running away from bosses .
I platinumed elden ring, only have midir and freide left in ds3, and is halfway through bloodborne, are the other games as good as what I've experienced or are they worse?
@@DiroxOnTheBeatWell sekiro is one of best and my personal favourite of all, ds1 and 2 depends if you can get used to the jank in those games after playing more modern ones.
@@DiroxOnTheBeat Sekiro has the steepest learning curve yeah but after you beat it once it becomes the easiest and it's gameplay is so good it hooks you in instantly.
Lies of P can still be your favorite soulslike game because Dark Souls isn’t a soulslike, it’s just a souls game. Soulslike is a game that isn’t made by FromSoftware, but still mimics the Soulsborne genre.
Sekiro 1000/1000 Gamerscore is my greatest achievement as a gamer in my lifetime. It’s like a badge of honor and your list is spot on. I also have 1000/1000 on Elden Ring but agree it wasn’t nearly as difficult! I wish they would release new achievements on the DLC though, so annoying 😊 Lastly, I played DS2 first and got hooked. Then went back to DS1 and DS3. When PS 5 came out I bought it just to play Demon’s souls remastered 😂 Bloodborne is by far my fav though. Agree we need part 2!
After playing DS1, DS3, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, I would say Lies of P was actually on the harder end of the Soulsborne/Soulslike games for me. I'm currently playing through Sekiro and I think it actually made me more comfortable with the parry system due to how pixel perfect Lies of P's perfect guard is
I would agree. I think this list is very out of whack when it comes to the order the soulslike games have been ranked. The fact Elden ring and DS1 has been ranked as harder than bloodborne and lies of p blows my mind. I also wouldn’t recommend anyone starting with lies of p if they’re new to the genre. Elden ring is 100% an easier game to start with for beginners.
Facts, I don’t know what the hell this dude is talking about. Dark souls and blood-borne is nowhere near as hard as lies of P and Elden ring is a fucking joke by comparison.
@@shawny5574it also depends on the person tho coz Margot whopped my ass like 20+ times in Elden ring and I rage quitted but I’ve managed to get to chapter 10 in lies of p and should finish it soon but tbf I had just played stellar blade before so it got me ready for the parrying lol
@@tsmokes5687 that’s fair enough especially if you haven’t played another souls game. But Elden ring isn’t even the hardest soulslike game Nevermind the hardest game on this list. Lies of P to me is more towards bloodborne level of difficulty but I’d say it’s harder again. Don’t get me wrong there’s hard bosses in Elden ring but if you’re stuck you can go away and come back or use summons or anything else that’s at your disposal. If you’re stuck in other souls games or lies of p you’re stuck until you get better and do it
One good thing about Soulsborne genre is that no matter how difficult these games are, they are not annoying and you always feel like going back to the enemy you failed to defeat at first unlike many games that have purely annoying difficult levels
I started playing Elden Ring 2 weeks ago, my first souls like game. Playing it melee only with no summons, getting a hard time but ai just beat Moghwyn. Truly satisfying.
I highly recommend getting at least 12-15 Faith just for some QoL/Utility/Weapon Buff spells. It's pretty standard in melee builds in FromSoftware games because it's a trivial stat investment that gains you access to things like status cleanse, damage/defensive buffs etc. ESPECIALLY if you know/learn the buff categories and start buffing Weapon/Body/Aura buffs along with Flask of Physick. There's no single stat investment for a handful of points that will net you anywhere near as much benefit as getting some points in Faith.
I had never played any souls games until Elden Ring and although it was extremely difficult in the beginning it's my absolute favorite game ever made, I've beat the game 4xs now and have a platinum trophy. I definitely wouldn't tell people not to start with it. It just takes persistence and skill. Which can be learned.
Never played Souls and Sekiro. My hardest was lies of P even I defeated Elden ring and Bloodbore. Died many times with Laxasia boss fight and never defeat her so un-installed the game. So I heard latest updates enabled choose difficulty in Lies of P. When I stuck in Malenia i could figure it out but Laxasia was too difficult for me. I heard from many people that Sekiro is hard-core 🥶
Lies of P was my second souls game. I wish I had played it before Elden Ring, but it was unique and challenging in it's own way. Can't wait for the highly anticipated Pinocchio DLC!
I beat Dark Souls 3’s Slave Knight Gael after 300 tries with a pure pyromancer build with just the great fireball spell at almost 3AM. That was really an unforgettable experience.
I gotta say Sekiro was my first souls game and definitely the best souls game they have ever made. Definitely got used to it and it gives you such a smooth experience. I definitely think Elden Ring is much harder and not as player friendly as Sekiro 🔥
@@anothergamenerd5467 Idk bro I played both full run throughs and I gotta say Sekiro is the best souls game tbh. And it’s definitely the most friendly for me especially with how good the parrying is. Elden ring takes a lot out tutorials and you feel lost playing the game at times.
@@SVLAZVR That’s cause of the size of Elden. You’re literally not using the word “friendly”, the right way, Elden has a wide variety of ways to fight, like ALOT over just a few in Sekiro with the core battle mechanic being just 1 , the katana plus parry/dodge. That alone makes Elden more friendly, plus the fact that you get No shape or form of a literal friendly user to help you in Sekiro like you do in Elden rings, you can call on spirits with certain abilities or you can get help from friends or strangers. You’re also set on a more linear path in Sekiro with way more limited ways forwards, unlike Elden that’s open world, and have so many paths, everything is more friendly in Elden ring whereas in Sekiro you Have to get better with the style they chose for you no way around it.
Sekiro was my first every soulslike game. Not trying to sound arrogant but I finished it in a month both endings shura and immortality severance. Now I can't get over that unique combat system.
I'm glad you put ghost runner on here. Those games are rough. The fact that I beat both of them definitely added quite a few new greys on my head. The positive part of it is that when you die, and you will over and over it loads back in immediately. Also Nioh is an amazing game and he is right that the second one is insanely rough.
I played both ghostrunner games and I think they are easy games. You can feel how powerful a ghostrunner in combat. But nioh is the hardest game I ever played. It is the first soulslike game I have pkayed. I played it 12 hours, last 2 I only tried to defeat the second boss and I deleted the game. No matter how hard I tried I could not even get to half. I know aomeday I will play again and it is going to be real hard.
@@foxbuous4467 I like the difficuilty at the end. The game in a whole is not hard. But at the end it gets unexpected hard with the last bosses. I just liked to see it here. It's surely no souls game. But it's fun. Did you beat the game?
@@foxbuous4467 that was not my point. It`s just a good game and worth mentioning. And I think the boss is pretty tough compared to the rest of the game.
I played DS1, finished DS3 and Elden Ring multiple times, got 100% for bloodborne. Then I go from that straight into Nioh 2 and just got OWNED. I did briefly try to really improve at it and I made some very limited progress but ultimately I didn't have the energy to tackle that difficulty curve. I've since uninstalled it and put it somewhere on my games todo list, ngl I have no foreseeable plans to tackle that again. So yeah, I guess you could call this one "questionable did
New players always tend to start with nioh 2 I'm like why lol😂 Start normally with nioh 1. Learn the game's main concept and mechanics. Also, nioh 1 and 2 are notoriously ez af due to one broken magic ability. If u played the game for some time, atleast like 25-30%, u will notice a broke ass ability which was so infamous in both nioh 1 and 2 that it was considered 'easy mode' lol
It was the other way around for me. I played DS3 on release put it aside. Couldn't deal with the difficulty. I played DSR on Switch on release and had to put it aside for later as well. Then I played Nioh 1 and after reaching a certain level (still pretty early in game) put it aside as well. I was beginning to think these games were really not for me. Then came Nioh 2 and I kept trying never gave up and it was also during lockdown. I remember that boss who was broken on release giving me a headache but somehow managed to defeat it. (Next day he was fixed his hitboxes mainly and some frame animations shit but he was much easier). After that I went back to Nioh ag ain and found it even easier than Nioh 2 without any of that spirit exploit. After that I went back to DSR and then finally managed to tackle DS3. I ended up pre ordering Elden Ring and now eagerly waiting for DLC. Didn't get to play the next two games Wu Long and Rise of Ronin.
That's a common experience. If you try to play Nioh like a souls game you will get boned. Pro tip: don't just try to dodge but block the attacks. And also invest in onmyo magic. You'll thank me.
If you want to try again nioh 2 use Magic. The wespon type swithglaive IS owesome, then you use the Magic skills like fire weapon, ralentize etc and IS by far the easiest way to play. I am almost blind , older than 50 and i beated It then i think you should not have problem with a build based on Magic + swithglaive
Lots of ppl were complaining about LoP difficulty, so the developers severely nerfed the bosses in an update. That might be why it was easy for ya. If you beat it before update and it was easy, then you sir might just be cracked
.. LOP was mega hard before the nerf (I kept refusing the update lol 😂) like all games Once your levelled up things get easier , do the grind put in the time !
Yeah I didn't think it was too bad either. I bet you people new to souls games keep losing resources and don't level up enough. Maybe don't explore to find the good stuff? I dunno
I did platinum most of all of those games except all DMC and Lies of Pi i didn't like DMC at all and for Lies of Pi i got bored playing the demo im not a fan of smashing puppets although maybe i should give him another chance... I just finished Lies of P for the first time. It was quite an achievement as I was never able to finish a soulslike game before. It was tough but fair and only took me 32 hours
Mayo wasn't so hard I managed to get the.. oh wait Nioh? Oh yeah, that game is a pain. However, my two personal games that made me cry were Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Devil May Cry 5. I didn't just beat those two games, I got the platinum trophies for them.
I will add Shadow of Mordor or Shadow of War.. It's frustrating to fight the captain, especially when they show up one by one when you are fighting one or two of them already with their subordinates alongside.
The worst moment in that game is when you fight a savage type that’s highly adaptable. While it’s rare, you might genuinely be screwed because they become immortal to everything and if you die they get stronger
1 month ago I bought ps5 and bought a disc of Sekiro and from the day I am writing this comment 2 days ago I finished isshin the sword saint and completed the game. It was my first game . I have never used any controller before .
I think ur confused about who developed metal gear revengence. Platinum Games was the developers behind it it was just published by Konami. Kojima did write the plot though.
There's more to the story than that. Konami started working on the game and got a lot of it done but weren't happy with how it was going and brought in Platinum to help and advise.
Not only bosses in elden ring are super hard and unique but even many mob enemies can one shot us on early game. And explore the map is hellish hard too, and sometimes i don't understand how game expect us to know how to do the quest or unlock some areas. Like try to find fingerprint stone shiel in the game, its harder than beating many bosses in game. Overall hardest game i have ever played
Sekiro was my first FromSoftware game and it remains my favorite. I put a lot more hours into Elden Ring, but Sekiro was an unparalleled experience, no contest.
Objectively you can’t say Elden Ring’s graphics are at peak levels when the game is using last gen graphics, the game can be ether the easiest fromsoft game or it can give Sekiro a run for its money depending on how you choose to play.
@@mothraunbound9267 naaah you can’t use a special gift from the lord himself called the mimic tear in other fromsoft games not to mention that you can’t over level to the point of insanity like in elden ring, if you play without ether of those and progress in a linear fashion like in ds games and not use the absurd amount of freedom the open world gives you then fine the game is plain hard and you need to “get good”, and I’ve played both ways and put in 1000+ hours into er at some point when testing the builds you just say i can’t be bothered and just go for one of the rune glitch methods in the game.
@@mothraunbound9267 for you or me or the souls fans yes, but you cant overlook the fact that most of not all of souls like games are not for everyone and that people's egoes cant handle the fact that the only way to get past a brick wall is to be good enough to jump over it, er gives you other options, dont get me wrong you need to know the basic boss paterns not to the point of a no hit run but just enough for the summons and your potential overleveled character to break the wall going head first
@@Flashstrike4 Of course you can over-level in Dark Souls games, there's literally nothing stopping you from doing so. As far as "a special gift from the lord himself" to make it easier...DS1=Drake Sword or Black Knight Halberd, DS2 = Hexes/Sorceries and literally any Strike type weapon since almost everything is weak to strike damage or Lightning Twinblades, DS3 = Sellsword Twinblades with OWCS on your back plus Pontiff's eyes means doing 52% more damage and healing for 30 HP per hit. Or just, you know full blown Sorc build, especially paired with Hidden Body and Spook or Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring.
Nioh is so criminally underrated that people call it Nayo lol, it’s seriously a great game with a phenomenal combat system though. Worth every hour, especially if you like samurai souls-like.

You just have to keep Equipping newer items (sort by level) and get rid of the lower level ones. Forget about set bonuses (not worth it). Just equip the newer items as they come along and before a new mission. Sell or make offering for the rest depending if you need amrita or gold. I played most of these games, but haven't cried even once. Ghostrunner series is one of my favorites and I would like to see a third game. Fromsoft games have very fun bossfights, though the difficulty of these games are very overrated, they are much easier then people used to speak. Same with Lies of P. DMC is more of a looking cool simulator then actually hard game. To be honest I don't even think of difficulty when I play games. Maybe this is why I never rage or cry, but also never jump from joy when defeat a boss, because I find more fun in the fight itself rather then beating him.
Sekiro is the only souls-like game I was able get into and reach the end. The combat is horribly hard but at least you have a vague idea of what you need to do, there aren't a million weapons and armours to choose from and every victory feels deserved. With Souls/Elden Ring... I could never figure it out, every victory felt like cheating as I had to use some perk, levelling-up or tedious grinding to achieve it.
Depends on your build as well. And yeah i agree, the summons are the literal ez mode for the game. But without summons, Melee builds are insanely difficult especially against malenia, placiduxax dragon in Farum Azula and Pre nerf Radahn. Meanwhile, Mage builds and Mohg's spear are literal cheat codes for the game lol. Most souls games can be cheezed with mage builds tbh
The trick to lies of P is stagger. Upgrade it as much as you can and you will be staggering bosses like crazy. It is totally broken with twohanded heavy weapons. Charge it up and stagger away.
I think sekiro is the hardest to learn but easiest to master, after you beat the game twice it gets really easy, but like bloodborne after ng+5 orphan still gets me in trouble
While the other game you upgraded your character by grinding, in sekiro you upgraded your self by beating the bosses, the clang clang defect never bores me 😘 love u Miyazaki

Lords of the Fallen was too flawed. It was almost a good game. Janky camera angles and limited player control compared. Few tweaks and id have enjoyed it much more
I can't believe you just said that about DMC! They could remake the 3rd game for example. They can make a 6th where you play as Dante&Vergil in the underworld and Nero in normal world for example. But the series must NOT end! It's an iconic game.

Lies of p has never been the hardest nor in the hard end.
@@Hatersdk Really? Which is the hardest then? Maybe you said that cuz u didn't play Lies of P when it came out. It was definitely harder than any souls. Sekiro is the only one who can arguably be the hardest one but I don’t put it into the same soulslike genre as the others.

Lies of P can still be your favorite soulslike game because Dark Souls isn’t a soulslike, it’s just a souls game. Soulslike is a game that isn’t made by FromSoftware, but still mimics the Soulsborne genre.
The massive underground areas in elden ring are definitely the coolest areas.
Sekiro 1000/1000 Gamerscore is my greatest achievement as a gamer in my lifetime. It’s like a badge of honor and your list is spot on. I also have 1000/1000 on Elden Ring but agree it wasn’t nearly as difficult! I wish they would release new achievements on the DLC though, so annoying 😊
Lastly, I played DS2 first and got hooked. Then went back to DS1 and DS3. When PS 5 came out I bought it just to play Demon’s souls remastered 😂
Bloodborne is by far my fav though.

I quit after dying multiple times to that blood loss attack
I had never played any souls games until Elden Ring and although it was extremely difficult in the beginning it's my absolute favorite game ever made, I've beat the game 4xs now and have a platinum trophy. I definitely wouldn't tell people not to start with it. It just takes persistence and skill. Which can be learned.

Start normally with nioh 1.

Objectively you can’t say Elden Ring’s graphics are at peak levels when the game is using last gen graphics, the game can be ether the easiest fromsoft game or it can give Sekiro a run for its money depending on how you choose to play.
Isnt that the case with every ds game
@@mothraunbound9267 naaah you can’t use a special gift from the lord himself called the mimic tear in other fromsoft games not to mention that you can’t over level to the point of insanity like in elden ring, if you play without ether of those and progress in a linear fashion like in ds games and not use the absurd amount of freedom the open world gives you then fine the game is plain hard and you need to “get good”, and I’ve played both ways and put in 1000+ hours into er at some point when testing the builds you just say i can’t be bothered and just go for one of the rune glitch methods in the game.

Elden ring is not that difficult if you grind properly
Yeah everyone knows it. It's likely the easiest souls game
Until you play the mod with Unalloyed Malenia. 😂
You can grind on any rpg and make it “easy”.
So can you guys tell what's the hardest elden ring boss for y'all. Everyone says it's malenia, but for me it was godfrey the first elden lord.
The trick to lies of P is stagger. Upgrade it as much as you can and you will be staggering bosses like crazy. It is totally broken with twohanded heavy weapons. Charge it up and stagger away.

7:31 casually walking down the street and a monster jumps out of nowhere to destroy you 7:37
I can't believe you just said that about DMC! They could remake the 3rd game for example. They can make a 6th where you play as Dante&Vergil in the underworld and Nero in normal world for example. But the series must NOT end! It's an iconic game.
Hotline Miami made me tear up my desk with anger. I loved it though
I’ve beaten every souls and souls like including the newer black myth wukong but I cannot stand Bloodborne. Idk why.
Started Sekiro in 2019 and rage quit the same year after stuck with genichiro, play again this year (2024) and got platinum tonight!
getting all skills was pain in the ass.
To answer the CTA... Elden Ring Melina was the most memorable boss, quite the puzzle to figure out, definitely needed online help to solve that one.
Wait what there's a Melina bossfight? Where?
Elden Ring was my introduction to FromSoftware games and I started it close to 2 and a half months ago and just yesterday 100%ed it. One of the greatest games I have ever played in my entire life and I loved every second of it
I played and completed Sekiro Die twice I fell in love with the kill and sneaking around to take out enemies waiting to ambush you. I literally gave up on Blood Borne lol I was like I'm not going to see a therapist to deal with the stress and anger that Blood Born game did to me. I believe I quit Blood Borne because of the dark environment.
My last 3 games I’ve played have been Elden Ring DLC2 , Sekiro, and Lies of P . All of them were so damn good .
Achieved platinum for Elden Ring, lies of P, bloodborne, all 3 dark souls games, and Sekiro. Anything is easy if you practice and never give up!
I haven't 100% any other than ER because it's not really hard, just tedious. I 1st-tried Midir when The Ringed City first came out though, so I think that more than compensates 🤣
@@Capnsensible80 lol, Midir isn’t even in the platinum run for DS3 😂 I have fought him and beat him before tho, so I know your pain!
