They went Medieval on the 70's! We woulda hung out in the 70s in high school...good times would've been had. Exponential fun. We ALL got along. All of us. East TN too. Best part.

Lies, all lies. On the album, version John Paul Jones played a bass, soprano and tenor recorders and harmonised them together while mixing. When live he played it on a keyboard. There is no way that even the wonderful melotron would get the absolutely perfect reproduction of real instruments. Whilst it used any sound put into it, it can't reproduce the perfect way each note blends into the next. Get your facts right first!
There's more than one path to Zeppelin. Welcome to the club. They are one of the most musically diverse groups ever. Check out something live by them to see them in action. How Many More Times from their first tv concert for Denmark radio is a damn good start. It's all good though. ua-cam.com/video/wEPog_WdPE4/v-deo.html Enjoy the rabbit hole.
Stairway to Heaven begins with a guitar and flute sound, perhaps music found in the middle ages. Then the guitar builds and becomes more modern. Then the percussion drives the beat to synchronicity. Then we have the change with the electric guitar sole bringing the song to climax. This song is as close to making love to a beautiful woman as I have ever experienced. It would be a tragedy if you failed to experience this song sometime in your lifetime.
I'm sorry you didn't hear or know I'll be sixty in a year and I'm one of the kids on the corner at 15 hiding their 32 and other things because a 40 wasn't out yet lol, had the best time ever
You should watch the tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center honors! Heart ( the female band) plays Stairway to Heaven to honor Led Zeppelin in front of them! They love it! Robert Plant even had a tear in his eye!
The anthem of the 1970's. I'm sure someone has probably mentioned how well the Wilson sisters paid homage to this when Led Zep was honored at the Kennedy Center. Hah! 9:15.....CLASSIC, man!
Oh my my......yes Led Zeppelin will take you away, go on that ride- every time. We all get lost in LED ZEPPELIN, and we all turn it up too! Enjoy! 🎼🎶🎹🎶🎸🎵🎵🎸🎹🎶🎶🎤🔥😎watch them do this LIVE....it’ll knock you out of your chair, facts.
That stank face during the guitar solo says it all....you ain't the first person or the last to get blown away by the greatest guitar solo in music history!
DUDE I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO THIS SONG FOR 40 PLUS YEARS, AND STILL GET CHILLS EVERY TIME JIMMY BREAKS INTO THAT SOLO AND BUILDS IT, AND THEN THE PURE EMOTION IN IT.... IT'S CRAZY... WHY IS THE BEST GUITAR SOLO EVER..... JIMMY IS THE MAN AND ALWAYS WILL BE
I've heard this song hundreds of times, but I never noticed before how much the instruments sound like singing. Not like a human voice, necessarily, but still singing. My favorite part is towards the end. If you listen carefully, you'll notice that the lead guitar is slowing down at a different rate than the other instruments, and the song sort of slides apart for a few seconds. Genius.
Led Zeppelin are... like many other bands in the 60's .....gods of Rock n' Roll....they created the Bar.....either folks come up to that standard bar or fall below it and many groups today fall below it.
A MUST! - The members of Led Zeppelin watch Heart perform Stairway to Heaven. search: *Heart - Stairway to Heaven Led Zeppelin - Kennedy Center Honors HD*
The Rain Song, Kashmir, Ten Years Gone, Ramble On, Immigrant Song, Good Times Bad Times, Heartbreaker/Livin Lovin Maid, Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You, In The Evening, too many to list. These guys were the best. The Bassist was John Paul Jones. A musical genius when it comes to arrangements.
I swear, between the lockdown, and the crazy that is 2020, these reactions by young people such as yourself, discovering music that I grew up with, and not only listening, but enjoying and devouring the music and also getting the "first time jitters" have kept me alive and given me hope. Sending blessings in a wild world xx
John Paul Jones was a session musician/bass player for several years along with Jimmy Page. We he heard that Page was starting a new band from the ashes of the Yardbirds he called Page and asked to join. Plant brought John Bonham and the rest is history. Dazed and Confused.
There’s literally about 50 songs of theirs that are must listens... enjoy... oh and their first 4 albums are Led Zepelin 1-4 so you’ll know where to start
I have been listening to the Led Zeppelin since I was 14 years old, and your reactions are awesome. The one thing that none of the reactors mentioned is that they were 20 years old when they cut their first few songs. To make that kind of awesome music at that age and immediately rise above every other band that's what's incredible
I had the same reaction when I first heard it as well. I'm 70 now but remember the way I felt and loved watching your joy from this masterpiece. Very cool young man.
Sit down, shut up, Master Class is in session...I was given a gift of a few words from my grandfather once when I was young. He told me as I go through life, to listen to every little piece of music that I could get my hands on, regardless of what kind of music it was...just LISTEN to it. For, "discovery" only happens once, so kick your feet up and ENJOY. Because you're only gonna have that feeling just ONCE. I'm fifty-five now and have learned those words apply to everything in life. So, I would tell you to ENJOY every second of everything. Those "seconds" are a gift...
In the early days of the band, Jimmy Page helped Robert write the lyrics to many of the songs. Then Robert said, hey Jimmy, hold my beer, and proceeded to pen the lyrics for Stairway. After Robert wrote the lyrics for that song, Jimmy basically said, Ok, Bobby, you write the lyrics from now on. I'll play the guitar.
I just discovered your channel. One thing that often gets overlooked is the quality of the arrangement and production. Page producing Glyn Johns mixing. The layering and weight is insane. I applaud you and encourage your musical journey!
pure reaction. takes me right back to 40 years ago, hearing this song for hte first time, i felt exactly the same way. thanks for the inspiration and love
It's so cool to see a whole new generation appreciate the music of Zep, and classic rock in general! I damn near leave my body every time I hear Jimmy play that guitar too. It has the same effect after 50+ years!
It's really refreshing to know that a young man like yourself can be so energized by older music. led zepplin is a classic and there's so much more to hear and learn. Great job, keep it up.you're on your way.
This song played at my school dance back in the day. Met my first love on that dance floor. One of the greatest tunes of all time. Glad you liked it! Led Zeppelin is Gold. Thanks!🔥🎸
What a truly beautiful human reaction you had... I knew what was coming and I was so excited to watch you take the journey. Thank you for sharing that. You are wonderful. 🇦🇺🐨
If you hear a different instrument, in a Zeppelin song, it's almost definitely JPJ. Either playing that instrument itself, or recreating the sound on his synth. Some Zeppelin songs sound as if a whole orchestra is accompanying them but it's JPJ. The main exceptions to this 'rule' are when Robert is on the harmonica, when Jimmy is doing something mad with his guitar, including playing it with a cello bow on a few songs, or when it's Jimmy on the theramin. For the theramin, it's probably easier for you to search for a video of someone playing it, rather than for me to attempt an explanation. :)
Loved this reaction...stairway is indeed a rock classic...your response was totally in line with those of us who were captivated by it back in the 1970’s...Nice job
I get the feel you'd get a real kick out of a Led Zeppelin song called "The Rain Song". Especially the way I've seen you react to this and some Floyd songs, think you'd enjoy it.
Dude...gotta do live at Madison Square Garden!! Also from the same concert...Whole Lotta Love...No Quarter...Black Dog...Dazed And Confused...Since I've Been Loving You! All killer!! In your 60th subscriber!
Absolutely love your reactions. In my 60s and i forget this Music is brand new to you. But if you want to know just how cool your parents and/or your grandparents are, just look at the quality, as well as quantity, of music we had. How could we have been anything but🤣👍🏻
Arguably one of the greatest songs ever written. It's great to watch somebody who understands music react to these leviathan pieces of musical history! On your journey make sure to check out The Who, especially 'Won't Get Fooled Again' and 'Who Are You'. Take it easy brother 👊
You are not going to find many bad Led Zep tracks. When asked which LZ song is their favorite, the answer is usually, 'Whichever I am listening to now'.
All that glitters is not gold. Not all who wander are lost. Go through their entire catalogue in order and learn. The only thing is Zep often blocks songs. Still, if you do this, you'll be hard pressed to find a song of theirs you don't like. The most precious metal isn't gold, silver or anything else...it's Led.
When you’ve heard a song thousands of times over 50 years, it’s still a joy to watch someone who’s hearing it for the first time. Check out The Rain Song if you like this.
I graduated in 1975 and am 63 and I grew up with this song but you said something that stuck in my mind as Jimmy Page broke in with his guitar solo .... You said " it transcended your soul out of your body" that's exactly what it does and I never thought of the words until you said it.
Welcome to the Led Zeppelin sound. I am pretty old and this was my fathers and uncles music.....Pretty sure it will be my nephews shit too. Just how it goes. At some point you will hit an age where your favorite music is on the classic channel and booooooom you are old. Best to embrace it.
Robert Plant has recently said that as he hears those lyrics that he wrote when he was 21 he would never write today. He says that that's not really who he is. He said it's kind of funny when you're young and where your mind is at that age. He said don't get me wrong. This is a beautiful song. Jimmy's composition is fantastic.
Masterful. I hope you have reacted to the tribute version of this that Heart performed, with John's son on drums. It was really touching to see LZ's reaction to the tribute.
I love your critique of this song. I came across this song in my teens, and it's always been one of my favourites songs. Interesting to hear that you hadn't come across this song before. It makes me wonder what other great songs are out there that I haven't listened to before.
His reaction reminds me of the first time I ever heard Stairway to Heaven. I'm 63 and I was totally blown away too and I feel he was being honest with his reaction. Sorry Taylor swift or Brittany Spears or Rap in general but you just don't cut it kiddies.
You can NOT stop it in the middle of the best solo 3ver!
It's never too late to listen to Led Zeppelin 🤘😊❤️
" My soul tried to escape my physical vessel"
Yes Jay. That is the feeling most of us had, hearing this for the first time.
Cheers.

We ALL got along. All of us. East TN too. Best part.
The recorder was played by John Paul Jones amongst other instruments on this track. He was one versatile musician that could play many instruments.
Appreciate the info dawg, yeah that recorder came in so smooth really was the foundation to me for the track.
Hi Brittany. Don't think I have any relatives from Northern Ireland unfortunately! I would love an excuse to go and see the devil's causeway!

Plant in this song and more so in other songs uses his voice like another instrument.
I am 77yo and this was the music I listened to then and still listen to it! I have been privileged!!
I love how he was only half way through and had no idea what was coming. That made my day.
GREATEST ROCK COMPOSITION/SONG/ANTHEM OF ALL TIME!! ROCK ON!!
You’re correct, Sir. A strong component of old English melodies and timbres.
Robert really liked reading lord of the rings and it comes out in many of his lyrics
Led Zeppelin are... like many other bands in the 60's .....gods of Rock n' Roll....they created the Bar.....either folks come up to that standard bar or fall below it and many groups today fall below it.
Sooo glad these young black fellas love our music, Zepplin at its best!!
Led Zeppelin - 'When The Levee Breaks', try that one.
Wonderful suggestion!! that will melt the head and the speakers!

I would pay a nice chunk of money to hear this song for the first time again. Masterpiece
#1 requested song for over 40 years I think
This was a gift, man. Not every day you get to watch someone’s soul try to escape from their physical vessel! 9:24
Your deep showing of emotion shows you're an artist.
Led Zeppelin were huge fans of Tolkien and it is very evident in this song.

Kashmir is the finest. When the Levee Breaks is far out
