- Is this Electric Scooter the Perfect Commuter? iScooter i9 MAX
In this video we take a look at the iscooter i9 Max. We've tried the iscooter i9 before but this one has a more powerful motor and suspension. Will that suspension tame the hard honeycomb tyres and make the scooter more useable over rougher terrain? Let's find out in this first impressions review.

What do you like the best? E-scooter, E-bike, EUC or Esk8?
🤙🏼⚡ *esk8 and eBike for me* ⚡🤙🏼
I don't trust gyros, cut outs, etc 😱
@@eBoard3R i know what you mean. I love my euc but I'm sure eventually it's going to get me.

Thanks for this review. Made my mind up to get one for my lad 👍
Great video been looking at this scooter especially as it's got suspension and solid tyres which is a added bonus
Real world stats for me 100kg rider.
10 miles range
16 mph on must surfaces
Comfortable ride for the price.
Seems fine in the wet.
Brake is poor and only one which needs constant adjustment.
Overall for the money it's a good one.
I weight 100kg! "Can you climb steep slopes? How many % ? Thank you
Hi ,I no longer have this scooter but I'd say no nit really. I bit of a hill but that's about it.Id recommend a inokim ox or oxo for more hills etc if funds allow
Really 500w ? Possible to swap hard tires by pneumatic tires? Thanks!
Does battery last long? I might buy this but already have a good 10 inch air wheel tire 12.4 battery scooter. This looks very good.
I'm a electric scooter fan I have owned many electric scooters over the past 15 years my favorite scooter has to be the techtron ultra a great scooter the only thing I didn't like was the tyres prone to punctures I now own a aovo es80 19mph top speed only thing I don't like is the standing platform not wide enough for my feet
I am looking forward to the iX3 800W. See ya. 😊
Hi, thanks just now bought one. Used your discount code. Paid 345.99£ price 375£. Thanks 👍
It's my third scooter, first of the Iscooter brand and very impressed with the quality and general output. The only issue is that the controller behaves too mild, takes too many seconds to give all the power in order to not making slip the front (traction) tyre and when starting a steep hill won't give the max. output until reaching 7/9mph.
All the rest is awesome for the price. There is an identical scooter called Isinwheel S9max, same manufacturer
Thanks for sharing. If you think this one is mild you should see the windgoo m20 i tried.
We just got 2x of the same scooter, just one question, the front suspension on ours seems fake, it doesn't move 1 cm at all, i have also lubricated it with silicone lubricant. Is it supposed to losen up or it's a fake suspension? i saw you were jumping on it at the beginning of the video and looks like it's working... ours is really hard/stiff. thank you.
Hey you might want to contact the company for a new battery pack or a new controller. Ive heard of people having this issue and when they replaced one of those then they got up to 21-22 mph.
Hi all, i got this scooter today with the front and back suspension, very nice driving comfort overall, they did some good adjustments to the previous version of the i9 max. Especially the rattling of the back mudguard(cable got severed after 1 month use because of the vibration in the old version).
In terms of price for value i can give this scooter a 9.5/10
pro
+ powerful motor, can climb up to 25-30% slopes depending on weight
+ very comfortable with the 2 suspensions, you will still feel little vibrations because they are not air tires
+ app with many functions cruise control, kickstart, and you can lock speed limits if you want to drive legally in some countrys.
+ light is very bright
cons
- in my case the electornic brake is almost non existent, in the older i9 max that i had you could really feel the power of the electronic break, but on the new i9 max it is almost not recognizable. Maybe the manufacturer did not a good job in adjusting the electronic brake.
Can you somehow adjust the electronic brake? You probably have to adjust it directly on the controller via software.
Hi.
I bought this scooter 2 days ago.
My husband weight is almost 90kg but front shock absorbers are immovable as fixed.
Do you have the same experience?🙂
@@Eva-jg2nn Hi Eva, yes i think some of the front shock absorbers are too tightly adjusted, so they almost have no room to move (absorb) unfortunately it's difficult to make them a little loose you need a special tool for that.
@@aquantumtrost3590
I see🙂
Do you know where i can buy this special tool?
Have you got some guide?
Many Thanks
@@Eva-jg2nn I never took apart the front suspension because it's very difficult without proper equipment. I would just leave it as it is in my opinion. But the tools that you need should be at any hardware store.
@@Eva-jg2nn I faced the same issue. I tried to disassembly it, or just figure it out how to fix. For me, the screw was damaged, I couldn't unscrew it. But! My suspension was stucked at the lower point. I jumped with my 78kg on the front suspension, It didn't even move, until there was a small crack like movement. Then it went to the lowest point. I used a screwer between the suspension, to pull it upper, and it jumped to the highest point (what was higher than the initial). So the suspension works, but I think there isnt enough greese on it. I don't know how to fix it, I used wd40, I hope it can flow inside.
Have you tried iscooter ix6 1000W motor version?
In your opinion, do the suspensions, particularly the front one, do a good job in smoothing the riding experience? I have the little brother of this scooter, it has no front suspension and the ride is a bit rough especially on stony asphalt
I do think it does. I have the i9 too and I love it but on rough ground it's a vibration fest. This isn't as good as soft air filled tyres but it does help.
Nice scooter video thanks!
I cant seem to find in the description what invisible stick youre using here for the insta360?
It's just the insta360 selfie stick 👍
Do you have to use your phone for the speed modes or can the button on the scooter do that
Is the Motor brushless on the i9max?
What do u think vs Gotrax G4?
Can I use it when raining? Nice video btw
This escooter is very good for its price (i got it around 360+ with the discount) and this thing can climb hills quick. I use it to go to uni and the hill to climb is steep but I still go around 12-15 with it. This is probably one of the best scooter around its price range and performance.
Glad it's working well for you
Cant wait for mines to arrive
@@stig3309 how was it on hills
@@alaaeddine7465 to be fair it does the job
I live in Edinburgh and have had no issues with hills yet
How long does the scooters battery last for ?
Can someone tell me what's its height? Is it higher or smaller than basic i9?
I'm interested in a scooter with 500 watt power and able to climb a 30 degree slope approximately . I'm a skinny whimp . Would you recommend it ? I'm here in the U.S.
Great review. Is there a firmware fix to override the power loss at around 80% charge? I'd love to trade range for full torque. Cheers for a cool vid. 😊
No I wish
Im planning to get a scooter. Which one should you recommend xiaomi 3 or iscooter i9 max?thanks
I have the xiaomi 3 myself and it’s has a flat tire when I only got it in June I’d honestly just get a scooter with honeycomb tires
how is the e scooter after 5 months?
What is the difference between the Max and the i9max? Also, how do you know if you have the "upgraded" version of a model, and what the difference is?
I assume max and i9 max are the same. I haven't been keeping up with iscooter though so no idea if this is an upgraded version. Do they mean they have upgraded the i9 max or are they saying the i9 max is an upgraded i9 pro?
Correct me if I am wrong, but arn't electric scooters illegal to ride in the UK?
Yeah this seems the one I'm going with I was looking at the Apollo city but it can be pricy and I don't need it to go fast I'm In no rush but I would help in me walking and when I get tired I can use it I would have to have it in the bag and carry it anyway it would be a nice change to taking the bus and waiting with this it'll be faster I just don't like how small they look I wish you could adjust the length of the stick or whatever also I would bring a bag with the charger inside just in case unless it rain I feel they should have a.i scooters hooked up to a gps just get on tell it your destination and it takes you there if it tries to kill you then I'm sure you can take it idk anyway England is beautiful at night so many lights in the distance its like little light houses or something it's cool
Isn’t meant to go 35 km/h / 22 milesperhour ?
Hey did you do anything with the suspension? When you put force on the scooter at 1:19, it almost bounces like a ball. Mine doesn’t move at all.
Nothing. Maybe I'm just heavy 😬
@@e-VRC but i see front suspension even don't move only back absorbers bounces. Am I right?
I got this for my son for Christmas. How do I get the Bluetooth to connect to the scooter?
When you download the app and load it up. If the scooter and bluetooth is on it will connect automatically.
I bought the iScooter i9 MAX because of your opinions, it is a solid scooter, I also recommend it, now I plan to buy more powerful equipment and I have my eye on the Kukirin G2 Max, what do you think about it?
Nice, glad it's worked well for you. They keep contacting me and offering me a scooter to test but then never send it. The scooters look great though. I don't think their treatment of me is a reflection of their customer service they probably just message loads of people and got a response from a bigger UA-camr or something 🤦
@@e-VRC I count on your opinion because the i9MAX is a great scooter, but I want something faster : D, I looked through it and the Kukirin G2 Max looks good, but I don't want to buy hastily.
Привет как сбросить этот самокат к заводским настройкам?
Does zero start mean you just hit the button and go from 0 miles an hour and does push to start mean you have to push the scooter first? Because when you turned on zero start on the app, I didn’t know what that meant.
Exactly what you said 👍
Does anyone know if this model is better than the AOVOPRO ESMAX 500W?
Because the prices are very similar, but I see a lot of complaints from Aovo.
Thinking the exact same thing what did u end up getting
HOW DO YOU GET THE DISPLAY FROM SPEED TO DISTANCE PLEASE?!
Click 3 times on a short sequence :) like click click click. 3x cycles between speed and distance, and 2x cycles light on / off
what gloves are you using atm? with it being cold now i need a decent pair and water proof if possible
The ones I'm using are armoured gloves but they're not particularly warm. The joytutus ones I used in a previous video are pretty warm but i tend to choose the ones with the armour.
@@e-VRC Ah i got some gloves i used yesterday and it was so damn cold so iv just ordered some winter warm gloves
@@AceadamUK nice i hope they do the trick 🤞
I wanna buy this or the i9 pro which one you will recommend
Is there is any difference with the 500w motor as they have the same results in the hill test
I haven't tried the pro. Is this maybe a little faster? I got the i9 to 19m0h but don't remember how fast the max went. 20 maybe?
@@e-VRC
One final qst please
You had the i9 max 36v version
Do you think i9 max 42v version will perform better in hills?
@alaaeddine7465 where is the 42v version? I can't find it on their sites.
I got the same scooter, and my charger makes some weird buzzing noise, and its the first charge. Is someone else dealing with this aswell? Should i be worried ?
Yes. Get another charger from somewhere else. I had a charger for fairly expensive ebike kind of blow up.
I have this one that's very good 🎉
Could you help me with your opinion:
I am considering buying this scooter, however I often read to not buy cheap chinese scooters to prevent overheating and fires. Does this scooter fall under the category of 'cheap chinese scooter' to you? Should I be concerned about the battery quality? I'd love to hear your opinion on this!
I'm not too concerned but this is chinese and also fairly cheap.
They are all chinese and made in china just have different names
The food is good
Evrc you gained a new sub
Cheers!
@e-VRC does that scooter have a built in horn? How do you like it? I am thinking about getting that scooter next year have you had any issues with it?
I bought the i9 pro. And I like it. My brother wants one too. Is the extra 125 dollars worth the max. I think the pro lacks a bit of distance.
Not sure. I prefer the standard i9. Never tried the pro.
@@e-VRC the pro was only 30 euros extra so I bought that. We like E scooters now. Iscooter 9 pro does like 12 km at 20 to 25 km speed. We like to buy a escooter that does have a larger range. Like 30 to 40 km and speed around 30/35 (faster is idiotic). I weight 100 kilo with clothes. Could you recommend a E scooter around 500/600 euro?
I really Need this electric scooter. 😢
I weigh 100kg Can you climb steep slopes? And how many %, 10-15%? Thank you
I'm 100kgs. This was one of the worst performing scooters up the hill. I did a video about scooters hill climbing
Can anyone tell me if this can withstand hard rain for 20-30 minutes while maintaining a speed of about 25 km/h? Or if it can withstand rain at all? It would be much appreciated!
It can definitely take rain for 30 mins but obviously it depends on how heavy it is.
What is the maximum weight this thing can handle ?
120kg
Is this one better than the S9Max ?
According to a comment above it's the same scooter.
How to turn Bluetooth on ZWHEEL E9T
I have I-9. Take it off start assist on sport mode will go 30
Take off zero start?
30 mph?
So it doesn’t go up to 20 mph
i9Max or M5pro, what would you choose?
i9max. M5pro a bit more bulky and didn't feel as responsive. And the one I had made a horrible knocking sound over bumps.
@@e-VRC what about hiboy s2 max vs i9max?
@@berkay600 not tried that one so couldn't say.
Is that platform a lollipop stick
Hey I was wondering if there is a way to change the speed to make it go any faster like changing the governor
Would love to do that. My i9Max drops half its power at around 80% charge. There must be a firmware override.
Have you tried this scooter. iSinwheel Electric Scooter Adult Long Range 500W 21MPH Escooter Urban Commuter?
Error E06 after 50kms. Switched a board (sent by warranty), the error still comes on after the full charge. Later disappears. I think they clearly lie on battery capacity, and that is why the controller is not happy with it too (as myself). So, yes, cheap scooter, handles not that bad, but HAS QUALITY ISSUES !
Can I use with with 110 kg weight?
It won't like hills but you'll be fine on the flat.

I read they are adjustable. If you don't weigh much it probably won't move. If you weigh so much it's already bottomed out, it won't do anything.
I just got it yesterday and one thing I can say don’t buy it it’s so bumpy it gives me a headache, the shock seems to be useless it will make you dizzy.
FYI I used it in a flat road and yet it’s still very bumpy
Hello. A new scooter came to me with an error code E16. How to treat it?
Might be a faulty controller. Check out my video about the isinwheel GT2 - the error code may be the same.
Just had a look at the other video. Mine was error 15. There should be a list of error codes in the instruction manual. Have a look what e16 means and let iscooter know so they csn advise you.
