Good video. I'm curious to know what kind of vibration do you feel on the deck of the scooter when you're going 60mph+? Also, is there a difference in tire quality between Rion and lesser priced scooters of same size tire? Thanks.
It is quite stable, though you might occasionally find that the tires can get a little lumpy at extremely high speeds. I would say that RION makes the highest quality scooters right now. 👽🖖
Finally quality construction and performance that looks great. Dualtron and Rion produce really nice scooters and are at the top when it comes to design and performance.
Impressive tech. Although for $7,000 USD you can get a lot of very capable motorcycles that will comfortably do 80 MPH, have a much longer range, and to me look like they'll be a lot more controllable and much safer.

Thank you for doing such a thoughtful review. I’m currently exploring transportation and recreation using electric vehicles exclusively. I plan on building an off grid home using solar, wind and hydro power. I’m glad there are companies that are using cutting edge technologies in order to advance the use of them. I’m sure that as things develop the cost will come down as well as more people using it. There is one very important point I want to make here and that is safety. If we ride responsibly with e-scooters the public will have a more positive attitude towards them. Given the fact that there is opposition towards them we need to do everything we can to promote them. Here are some suggestions I have for all riders. Be a defensive rider; always assume people can’t see you. When using the bike/pedestrian trails, slow down when passing people and alert them that you are going to pass. If you show people respect they will remember that, especially when a ballot issue comes up that might ban e-scooters. Sorry if I sound like a dad, but I can’t help it. I very much want e-scooters to become common place. There are so many benefits to them. Stay safe and have fun! Here is a link you should follow if you’re interested in the accident statistics in the US. www.google.com/amp/s/www.9news.com/amp/article/news/study-40000-e-scooter-injuries-nationwide-from-2014-2018/73-f0f34d72-bf47-4b71-8194-45dee525d462
Thank you for the thoughts and sharing your suggestions, they are really great. I am looking forward to a cheaper and more accessible form of electric transportation for all in the future. Ride safe!

It's impressive that a company spent the R&D and cost to develope such a great scooter when the market is so small. It is growing, but still very small.
@@TheSteinbitt 1st reason is that on 99% of roads its illegal. He said that, making the point that you can't ride it most places. I would ride it if it was practical and it would be good for the environment if more people did. So yeah, he made a good point.

There's this dude always riding around my city on his Honda CBR600. He's constantly blipping the throttle, revving, and doing mini stop light to stop light sprints to get some attention. I would find it mad funny if one of these pulled up and smoked him.
That wouldn't happen. The cbr600 goes from 0 to 60mph in under 4 seconds and a top speed over 150mph. As fast and as badass as this little scooter is, the cbr600 is in a different league. Sad part is, the cbr600 isn't even the one you gotta worry about. There's the cbr1000rr and the gsx1300r, aka the Hayabusa, and now the kawasaki h2 is way faster than the Hayabusa. In comparison, the cbr600 is slow, but the rion re90 is extremely slow in comparison to even the cbr600.
@@VicinalElk44104 I'm aware of the speed differences between them. I for example ride a '19 CB1000R and know this scooter could not touch me. That's not to say that it would be hilarious to see.

Parents used to say “back in our day we didn’t have those cool toys”. 😂 Now look at this stuff 🤯 wasn’t even that long ago!!

Hey brother the weight of the rider is a big consideration for top speed and battery consumption I'm 6'8 and 270 and I topped out at 64 mph on a flat surface, 71 downhil and 56 going up hill, I also average about 35 - 45 miles tops per charge. Its still a fantastic product and I definitely do not regret my purchase. Thank you for the great video
What I really am curious about is can this scooter compete with something like a super sports bike that would be a very cool race for acceleration test have you guys had any word on what the acceleration times are from 0 to 60 that would be really cool to find out because this only weighs 70 pounds
I think the Rion will definitely blow most sports bikes out of the water on acceleration, but lose out on top end acceleration as the bikes have way higher top speed. Let's try to make a video on that. Super fun blowing by guys on a motorcycle on the small rion though 😅
No chance, if it had over 100hp then it would have a 0-60 time under 3 seconds, but it would just tip up and throw you off the back with that much power, and the batt would be flat in about 5 miles. Electric motorbikes that are capable of that have above 15kwh batteries and go about 50miles flat out.
Hello, see on the page of Alien Rides a universal charger that supplies up to 9A, I am interested in buying it but I would like to know how long it takes to charge my Vsett 10+ from 0 to 100 l, would it be possible to make a video of the required charging times on different Scooters please? I got a meepo mini 2 skateboard for 400 us dollars. Goes 28 mph (actually a bit faster..33ish since I put larger wheels on it), and has 10 mile range. They have a version with 20 mile range. Anyway, not a 80 mph scooter, but still the best 400 bucks I ever spent on a toy. Would have definitely used this thing in college or actual transportation while in the city. Now I just slam beers and fly around my burbs as the old crazy guy. 25+ mph is absolutely terrifying... That scooter looks like a death trap!

They have discounts now for added items. I strongly recommend adding the 100mm PU rear wheels if you have bad roads in your area. The stock wheels get beat up pretty bad after a few hundred miles of you have allot of gravel areas... The 100mm have more rubber and are much more durable. Shipping can take a long time too, but boy this thing is fun (very dangerous as well... Serious power!!!).

I didn't know the lever griping reaction was called whisky throttle. That's definitely what I've been experience on my Apollo pro. On top of that, the standard lever throttles obstruct the front bake lever thereby making it less viable for stopping. I Definitely want to upgrade the throttle to the Rion system when I get a chance.
Yup, I think systems like the Rion throttle are much safer to use all around. I think they're still in the process of making sure they're compatible with Apollos/Dualtrons, so hopefully everyone can upgrade to them.

WHAT a work of art. Looks beautiful.
I agree, it's an amazing looking and riding scooter.
Top design
Yes, these are amazing scooters for sure.

Impressive tech. Although for $7,000 USD you can get a lot of very capable motorcycles that will comfortably do 80 MPH, have a much longer range, and to me look like they'll be a lot more controllable and much safer.
The thumb wheel throttle does look like a good idea. Motorcycles should do that !
I would love to try this throttle on an electric motorcycle. Maybe in the future!
@@AlienRides I'm sure the throttle could be made to work on one of the ride by wire petrol motorcycles :-D
It’s for those who run out of ideas with what to do with money.
@@karlosh9286 A perpendicular placed thumb wheel throttle would certainly help eliminate 'whiskey throttle', but due to the limited travel of the thumb may introduce other problems.
edit: Ooops, just got to the point where he mentions this.
I rode an E300 down a big hill and reached 30-35 mph. That was pretty intense and ended with a little crash when it got unstable and I couldn't make a curve. It was fun though.
Hah, that's crazy fast for an E300, hope your crash wasn't too bad. It's doable, but you need a solid scooter likely with steering damper 👽🖖
i would never get on that beast but your review was superb . it was the little details of explanation that impressed me. You used the hyperbolic term of " military grade " but then went on to explain what that really meant . well done !
Hah, I later learned that military grade also meant cheap, but we had fun making this video anyway. 👽🖖

Thank you for the thoughts and sharing your suggestions, they are really great. I am looking forward to a cheaper and more accessible form of electric transportation for all in the future. Ride safe!
My mate has a old vw camper he changed to eletric via a tesla upgrade
I’m actually getting an electric scooter after 6 days I can’t wait thanks for the video you made now I can watch your electric scooter videos while waiting for it to come home love your videos your the best UA-camr I mean most AWSOME UA-camr you deserve 100M subs
Awesome, glad you're getting a scooter, you're going to love it! I'm sure we'll get to 100M some day! 😁
This was a very well made video and the Rion is crazy af!
Thanks, we had fun making this on an awesome scooter.
Hope to buy one this spring. Add it to my sport bike collection but bring it on the work truck
It’s a pretty awesome machine, you’re gonna love it. 👽🖖
I agree, having a way to see road in the dark, park it, actually be visible by cars and being able to show turn signal is so distracting.... This hyper scooter would make BMW riders proud.
Hah, well those features might make it more traffic worthy, but easy enough to add on your own if desired.
I wish everybody on UA-cam did reviews like you. You hit every little details as if you read your viewers' minds lol. Enjoyed every second of this video.
Thank you, we put a lot of work into this one, hope to top it soon. 👽🖖
It's impressive that a company spent the R&D and cost to develope such a great scooter when the market is so small. It is growing, but still very small.
Definitely, it's awesome to see companies like Rion leading the way!
Honestly the best looking scooter ever
It really is, they do a fantastic job. 👽🖖
When more roads are being built for those who ride 80 mph scooters, you will see fewer people making their way in 2 ton SUV in a sunny day to work.
Personally I'd much rather have people on scooters, it will be an amazing future if so.
@Prince of Peace That last bit regarding flight tracking is false.
Motorcycles and mopeds have existed for 100 years, there’s a reason why people still choose cars.
@@TheSteinbitt 1st reason is that on 99% of roads its illegal. He said that, making the point that you can't ride it most places. I would ride it if it was practical and it would be good for the environment if more people did. So yeah, he made a good point.
@@mikemartin5909 mopeds snd motorcycles have always been allowed, but very few choose them for a reason. This doesn’t change with electric scooters. It would be even more dangerous and exposed, imagine doing 80 on those.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is that LA in the background @0:45?
Yes sir, that’s definitely L.A.
Cool, I thought so. Thanks man!
No problem bro! Have a good one!
You too!
Did you just answer your own question? 💀
Rion is a monster, hopefully I'll get one someay. For bow I'll keep enjoying my Zero 11X. Great review.
Awesome, the Zero 11x is a great scooter and I hope it treats you well. Definitely try the rion when you get a chance.
Wow,the shock I had there 😂 I thought you would say you didn’t have or something and really wish you did but you say you have the 11x! I got a random scooter with a top speed of 12mph 2 years ago and got into scooters,I got a ninebot a few months later and still use it.I always dreamt of getting 10x or even 8-9x but that’s for a different time, for now I’m just enjoying my ninebot.your very fortunate to afford and have that scooter,11x is ome of the best in the world in my opinion and is not far from the rion.
Terrific
great video! i also wanted to say that you got some great shots of my city :)
There's this dude always riding around my city on his Honda CBR600. He's constantly blipping the throttle, revving, and doing mini stop light to stop light sprints to get some attention. I would find it mad funny if one of these pulled up and smoked him.
Hah, I'm gonna come ride in your city until I find him!

He tries to!
When I turned 12 in the late 90’s my dad got me a go-ped sport that had a top speed of 20mph. Most friends had them too. I think it was like 400 dollars. We used to carry around a little pouch of oil in our pocket so we could ride all day. Parents used to say “back in our day we didn’t have those cool toys”. 😂 Now look at this stuff 🤯 wasn’t even that long ago!!
Hah yeah go-peds were really cool, standup electric scooters are basically the next generation of them. 👽🖖
I’d be your parents age. What is a go ped. Bikes and skateboards were my thing + when they came out with snowboards and Mountains started letting us ride them on the run it was far out.

Such a cool e-scooter! Is there any water resistance / proof? Can you ride it in the rain?
It is a cool scooter, but you can't ride it in rain unfortunately. 👽🖖
@@AlienRides here in the uk it rains all the time and unpredictable weather! so I will try and find a similar model with water resistance. Thanks for your reply
Maybe lights front and back would be advisable.
Yup, those are definitely important when not riding in the middle of the day. Easy mod to make since any bike lights should work.
You can always put them on your gear as independent units.
At $4,800. - $7,000. That’s expensive you might as well just buy a used car or a motorcycle. Then again neither would be so amazingly portable.
i would bought a vespa

It's the lambo scooter. Exotic scooter. Love it and of course it would be awesome to own one.
Indeed, the ultimate expensive toy. 👽🖖
yes ot iß
Your production / presentation is exquisite - as is the scooter. I can't see spending this much when I can get a V-twin Kawasaki bullet bike for the same price. But these Rions really are an exciting product.
The connector is known as a “Speakon” connector. Meant for concert loudspeakers & high power. VERY robust!
Ah yeah, that's the one! Thanks for that info.
The video is amazing. The editing and presentation makes me feel like I'm watching a Porsche, Bugatti commercial.
That scooter is amazing. For its features, it definitely feels worth it
Thank you, we put a lot of work into these videos. Lots more good stuff coming soon. 👽🖖
Oh you got one? Awesome! You might be the biggest Rion rider I know of so far. Good to have that datapoint. 👽🖖
I wonder how much wind resistance at higher speed is coming into play for someone your height.
@@oddsman01 it certainly slaps me in the face pretty damn hard and makes holding on a bit tedious on longer rides.
The lighter a vehicle is the more every pound matters % wise so that makes sense
goód f9r yoú
very cool video! How does it handle stability (lateral) wind gust at speed? Scary? Just looks amazing for a scooter- 7K is a big deal though.
What I really am curious about is can this scooter compete with something like a super sports bike that would be a very cool race for acceleration test have you guys had any word on what the acceleration times are from 0 to 60 that would be really cool to find out because this only weighs 70 pounds
The onyx does 0 to 57mph in 13 sec, the Yamaha R1 does it in 2.6 sec, and the rion?
I think the Rion will definitely blow most sports bikes out of the water on acceleration, but lose out on top end acceleration as the bikes have way higher top speed. Let's try to make a video on that. Super fun blowing by guys on a motorcycle on the small rion though 😅
@@AlienRides I am not so sure about that maybe maybe not I really need To see a real test of how fast it really goes from 0 to 60
No chance, if it had over 100hp then it would have a 0-60 time under 3 seconds, but it would just tip up and throw you off the back with that much power, and the batt would be flat in about 5 miles. Electric motorbikes that are capable of that have above 15kwh batteries and go about 50miles flat out.

Looks like the price went up by 50 bucks on the standard. They have discounts now for added items. I strongly recommend adding the 100mm PU rear wheels if you have bad roads in your area. The stock wheels get beat up pretty bad after a few hundred miles of you have allot of gravel areas... The 100mm have more rubber and are much more durable.

Back in the early 2000s I had a GoPed GSR that would do 54mph. I cant imagine ehat another 30mph feels like being so close to the ground. Id want suspension and a seat for something like this.. essentially a motorcycle xD

If someone looses control of their vehicle and dies trying to dodge you when you were in their lane you may be held responsible for for manslaughter. Awesome footage, and beautiful editing though.
That is a really good point, we are liable for our actions and we should never ride in a way that will put others in harm.
