A bit thank you for Ritual for sponsoring this video on this trip to LA. And also a big thank you to Dan (from @DanVsWorld ) and Bill and Lisa (from @billandlisa ) for taking the time to show me great places, as well as magical places, in LA!
Los Angeles is such an amazing city with so many friendly faces and great iconic eateries. Thank you to all the great suggestions on places to eat in LA and it's surrounding areas. I did not not there were so many iconic delis offering great pastrami in the area, from Carter's, to Brent's, to Langer's! I could not resist and had to stop of at one of these places. And how can resist the great Seafood feast California has to offer, and I decided to try the ultimate seafood feast with sweet succulent shrimp, and lobster!
First stop, Langer's. Given the limited time in LA, I had to choose one and I hope I chose wisely; but to be honest, one can't really go wrong with any of these places. Langer's, from what I've heard, is an LA institution serving up great pastrami sandwiches, comforting Matzo Ball soup, crispy potato pancakes (latkes), and the all important egg-cream! ...and they've been doing so for over 70 years!
Great food and more importantly, great servers and diners make this a meal an event in the most wonderful and fulling way. Did I over order? --Yes! ... and did I finish? --you bet! The half sandwich / half soup with pastrami and Munster cheese on rye was definitely the way to go!
And that was just a meal to provide some sustenance for the drive to San Pedro to visit the iconic San Pedro fish market who has been serving up massive platters of seafood since 1956! Fresh lobsters, crabs, shrimp and any and all seafood you can imagine! From whole fish fried up to a sampling of halibut, swordfish, and seabass all cooked to perfection. The lines are long and in the end, I was not able to get a beer, but thanks to the kindness and generosity of the fellow customers, I got to share a ginormous bottle of beer. What can be better than a cold beer? -- A cold beer offered by good friends!
The seafood did me in.. Managed to finish the lobster, the jumbo scallops, and the seabass, but that mountain of shrimp proved to be a challenge far too great! Thank you so much for joining me on this adventure and hope you get a chance to try these great places!

Hi TIM, you are so kind, caring and compassionate. I love how you call each person you come in contact with by their first name, it really shows how you take the time to personalize your encounters with folks. You are a true gentleman, and your channel is a blessing.
Thank you again for your very kind comment 🙂. Really grateful to have met so many fantastic people in LA and California. Just overwhelmed with everyone reaching out and connecting during the trip and here on UA-cam. Truly grateful for everything 😃
I am beyond blessed that you would think of us viewers as individuals. Smiling from ear to ear! Thank you!
Thank you so much for reaching out! Absolutely grateful and blessed here also.. that we can all connect here 😃
Not much makes me joyful/ joyous as of late, Except food because you cant take that from me and a good ol friend who thinks about you. 💯😀👍
Two years ago I fell down the UA-cam travel/food wormhole. I always pretend that I am the one traveling and eating this fantastic food (usually while eating a drab ham or tuna sandwich) . Hopefully if I make it to retirement in 8 years, I will be able to experience some of these adventures.
I will say of all the videos I watch a week during my down time, your videos stand out. Your positivity and constant smiling is really refreshing in todays world.
Thank you so much for your very kind comment! An early happy retirement to you, but why wait!? Enjoy now! 🙂
Vicariously living ;) Same here my friend.
Same food vids kept me alive the 8 months I was stuck in the hospital and rehabilitation with out my still young kids during COVID shutdowns so no vists allowed and not to mention how horrible hospital food is in general.
I found Tim's interpretation of San Pedro's fish market to be very thorough and informative. Pretty good job & he's not even a local!
Thanks, I feel I could handle this place much more efficiently.
Love Tim, he’s so informative, polite to employees & isn’t afraid to try different dishes❣️🎶❣️🤙🏼☮️
Hey Tim it was great to be able to link up with you ! 🔥🙌🏼💪🏼 hope you enjoyed the thai food
I'm still salivating over those fatty skewers 😋
You said "God bless you"! I love it! God bless you, too, Tim! ✝️ You're my favorite new channel!
Your videos make me so happy. You are so patient and kind.
As someone who lives locally I totally recommend going! Quick tip: Bring wet wipes for your table and hands, try the drinks, and definitely try as much food as you can! SO DELICIOUS!
I swear it’s like I’m sitting there tasting everything. You’re very good at describing.
Be still my heart ❤. Matzoh ball soup, pastrami sandwich on rye and potato pancakes. Wow, Im drooling just watching you eat it.
And then there was the seafood ...
Tim is so genuine and warmhearted,I love his videos!!
It all looked so delicious. So glad you had time to visit family along with Bill & Lisa, looking forward to your upcoming videos.
So glad to see you collaborate with other UA-camr , I love all your videos and the ones you collaborate with. I am a big fan of all of you. Enjoy your stay in L.A.
Hi Tim! Happy to see you went to Langers! I live in LA and love their food! You are always so polite and kind to whoever you talk to and it's so nice to see~ Thank you for that! Respect! 💖
The way my Dad always picked a restaurant, when we were traveling, was by how long the lines were, I was anticipating good things and it looked like a win 😀 Worth the wait!!!
That's a pro tip! And patience is a definite virtue 😃
Tim, I've lived in LA for over 30 years and I can tell you, that you made two excellent choices!! Pastrami & matzo ball soup for lunch and lobster tail and scallops for dinner? You picked the best of the best! Sorry for our freeways...LOL.
Thank you for the vote of confidence. The food was certainly great. It was interesting, on the way driving back, I instantly regretted the comments about the traffic being efficient 😉
Hi Tim...glad to see you again...Cheers and Bon Appetit!!! Glad you was able to hook up with Lisa, Bill and Dan 👍...Lisa and Bill are the bomb, they are a very lovely fun couple 🤗...Langers #19 is Lisa and Bills go to sandwich...they've also been to the San Pedros fish market...great choices of fresh seafood cooked on the spot...enjoy buddy and safe travels and God Bless 😘🤗💙
Hi Jade, number 19 was my choice going in thanks to Bill and Lisa. I had to follow Jess's suggestion, but to be honest I don't think I could have gone wrong with either choice. Really great folks all around 😃
I look forward to your videos wherever you are and eat! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us.
Thank you so much for your support Julie 😃
Tim, I really enjoy all your videos! You are always soo kind to everyone. You are a pleasure to watch!
It was a really great atmosphere in la. Everyone were really engaging and great to get along with 🙂
How sweet of Lyric to bring your tray and your new friends for the beer. Looks delicious! Love the whole video!
Hey there Tim. Next time you are in the Redondo area, you should give the Perfect Storm a try. The do an AYCE live main lobster cooked to order. Truly appreciate your kindness to all the wonderful hospitality workers you come across.
I'm glad you was able to enjoy and have fond memories of your trip to LA and the rest of your trip to California ...and I appreciate you taking all your viewers along with you to experience all the fabulous food and places you travel too 👍...thanks again for all the great videos...be safe, safe travels and God Bless you always 😘🤗💘
Thank you again Jade! Very grateful to get to meet some of the people I've been talking to for years. The family I met there, it was by coincidence and great to have seen them also

Shatteringly crisp..what a great description!!You have a way with words. Love it another great video
Thank you so much.. I do pay attention to new adjectives 😉
BROOO THANK U . I LOVE WATCHING VIDEOS OF PEOPLE GOING THERE.
Another delicious/amazing video, Tim! Also enjoyed the Thai Marketplace video you did with Dan. I was watching Bill and Lisa's video before watching yours and thought it would be so nice if you collaborated with Bill and Lisa...and to my surprised...you actually met up with them! Hope to see your Disney video soon!
Thanks for sharing your great experiences tim this one is my favorite
Thank you so much.. both Langer's and the fish market were really great places
Hahaha should have stuck with the very first beer line Tim!!!
Hi tim I love this place you out did yourself this time my friend. I hope you're food wasn't too cold while waiting in the beer line. Enjoy yourself and see you in the next video. Thanks for the content
Thanks again Calvin! Really looking forward to the Jewish delis.. from schwartz's, to katz's, to Langer's now. Thank you for kicking this off 😃
Haha, a loan office over there! Great sense of humor Tim! And, you are so right about LA traffic, worst ever! Food looks great! You're just so much fun to watch!
LoL, driving back to LA, I encountered the traffic issues and was really regretting what I said earlier 😆. The prices there were expensive.. but I think it's a tourist premium 😉
This fish market would be so overwhelming for me. Thanks for bringing us along!
It was for me to 😉
Great video, Tim. Glad you had a great time and good food here in Los Angeles. Awesome to see you went to Langer's and promise me next time you'll get the No. 19. It's just too good not to get the whole sandwich. Look forward to your future adventures.
Love seeing places where I live get some exposure, just wish San Pedro were actually a nicer place to visit. Hope you were able to have some fun while visiting
Nice to see more and more foodies videos from Tim again
Thank you so much, just spending my time editing and going to the gym 😉
Some potato stuck to the fork 😂 You're awesome 😊
Pastrami and matzo ball soup look amazing. Now, San Pedro is most go in my bucket list!! Thanks
Do yourself a favor and go on a weekday for a more enjoyable seafood dining experience. The weekend lines are absolutely brutal and you're standing in them a lot. 🙄
Everything looks so good. The people were so friendly and accommodating. Great video. Ty. P.S. congrats on the new subs. In no time you’ll hit a million.!!!
I must say, the people in la were very convivial and engaging. Very enjoyable time
Tim you skipped out on the #19. That’s the hands down best pastrami I’ve had by a landslide. Including Katz’s
Okay, now you convince me.. I need to make another trip for number 19 😋
Hi Tim. I hope you enjoyed your time here in Los Angeles. The seafood platter looks delicious. Take care 😊
Hi hhka🙂. The platter was quite a sight and tasty too... The free beer really top things off 😋
Hello 😊, I'm a new subbie! I recently found your channel and I have been binge-watching ever since! Thank you for showcasing all of the desserts...sometimes foodie videos skip over the sweets, so I really appreciate all of the extra air time that they get on your channel 🙂
Thank you so much for reaching out and for your support 🙂
Hi tim...welcome to San pedro ( San Peeedro) 🤗🤣 yes...VERY busy on the weekends...hope you had a chance to look around while here...great views of the harbor and angels gate..❤
Thank you so much Pat! I did not get a chance to check out Angel's Gate but hopefully we'll do so next time.. on a weekday 😉
This was another awesome video. Thanks for sharing this. Cheers, Tim and God Bless! ✌️🇨🇦
Thanks again Dwayne! Really great places in LA 🙂
@@TimLeeLetsGo I definitely want to go see different places, in North America, just for food like this. Cheers!
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work thanks for sharing 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Thank you so much 🙂
I'm not usually an Apple Pie eater ..but after you said it was warm .. with that ice cream is sounded really amazing .. your very Blessed to be able to travel & visit such wonderful places 🙂🙏 God Bless
Thank you so much and really grateful and humble to be able to experience and share these places. The warm brandy sauce on the apple pie certainly helped as well 😋
Tim this seafood looks Delicious. I feel you make good choices. Nothing but love for
You.
🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much Elizabeth! Really hard to go wrong when choosing Seafood 😋
So cool you got to meet Bill and Lisa 😃 And you're making us miss the LA area. There's So many fantastic restaurants of every kind there. Your lobster seafood plate looked great with that sauce:) Like you said, too bad it wasn't fresh but still looked yummy. Sending Best Wishes and Blessings, James and Kim ❤️
The one thing I should have got was a whole catfish... deep-fried 😋
@@TimLeeLetsGo OH Yeah 😃
That was a huge amount of food for sure. Glad you got your beer! 👍🏻😃
To be honest, I don't think I've ever been so happy to have a beer... Mainly because of all the failed lineups and the fact that someone was kind enough to offer one 😃
Quite a tray of seafood there Tim. Those potatoe pancakes looked good. Friendly folk. Best
It was quite the experience, mainly from the great servers, hosts, and fellow customers. Really had a great time with all the people there.
Great video Tim. You sure can chow down.
Who knew Tim could bust out the moves on the dancefloor?
The host certainly put on the pressure there😉😆
what a beautiful content to explore food in different country or tribes
I could never have finished all that seafood, as much as I love shrimp haha. But it looked tasty. Thanks for sharing Tim, God bless
Especially after eating that large bf. I hope he brought some of that seafood home.
Couldn't have chosen better places to eat, but I'm sure glad I left L.A. for Nova Scotia some years ago!
A few of my colleagues from work recently moved to Nova Scotia and work remotely there and some others traveled there for vacation. They all loved it/loving it 🙂
Tim ur videos are a vibe 🙂👍🏻
very nice to see you in LA my hometown.
Helen, you live in such an amazing city! Really glad to see everything up and running after these two years 🙂
Another great video Tim!
Thank you so much 🙂
Never been first 😊 Hello from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 👋🏻 Always happy to see a new video from you Tim 😀 I hope you're well and thank you
Thank you so much Kiki and greetings to you from Vancouver Canada 🙂
Tim I was drooling 🤤 for that platter. 😋
It was great to see how they cooked everything really nicely.. and that Cajun butter certainly was a nice touch 😋
NO WAY! my wife and I have been waiting for this collab forever! Bill and Lisa & your channel is our favourites! Can't wait to see the video!
Bill and Lisa are truly class acts🙂. They are exactly like you see on the videos! Fun, funny, and very kind. Two of the nicest people you'll ever meet! 🙂
You are very fortunate you are able to travel a lot! 😎
Crispy lrkas and fries are the best. And an egg cream is nothing more than an ice cream soda without the ice cream.
It's interesting because I was just chatting with Bill and Lisa about this. We are all so grateful and blessed with that UA-cam community. Thank you so much for yours and everyone's support, and humbled to get to visit and share these experiences.
Welcome to LA. Home of the worst traffic and hot weather. Glad you got to experience SoCal food places. Going on the week days is shorter for San Pedro FM. Prices are not for the feint of heart though... lol. Yup almost $100/lb for the crab legs.
I can't believe I said how pleasant the LA traffic was.. I quickly found out that was not the case on the return trip to LA 😆. I did get sticker shock when looking at the cost of the seafood, but kind of anticipated that as it's a bit of a tourist area
Food looks delicious, however, the best time to go to avoid the lineups, is probably during the weekdays. I never went to such a confusing restaurant in my life, food and drinks should all be at one place. Nice video Tim, once again.
That line up for the beer was really testing my patience but great that Allie whom I was sitting next to shared her's
I will check these out for sure!!!
I really liked Langer's... Just be cautious because the fish market is a bit of a tourist trap.. it is expensive
@@TimLeeLetsGo Will do and TY!!
Thank you! I really like and enjoy the video.
Delicious looking food. Nice food review. Thanks and take care.
Thank you so much 🙂
Wow! Maybe it's me but I can't phantom standing in a line for over an hour!! The food looked delicious 😋
It was a tough wait.. it was hot and I certainly had to go for one of those $11 drinks at the stands outside
Nummmmy ...
You needed more Beer!!.
Ty Tim
Great review
"I think you can drink three or four of these."
When Macy's in Aventura, FL first opened, they had an upscale NY-style eatery. One of their offerings was an "unlimited" egg cream. A bottle of U-bett's and a seltzer siphon was brought to the table and the server taught one how to make their own.
It was an awesome experience!
What an amazing deal! That was my first egg cream and certainly not the last 😋
@@TimLeeLetsGo
I'll warn you that I'm *very* particular about my egg creams. The one you received from Langer's looked perfect, with a nice white head. The white head is what gives it the name egg cream; an egg cream is not a chocolate soda with brown foam on top.
It frustrates me to no end that even U-bett's will post incorrect directions for making one, as long as their syrup is mentioned by name in the directions...
@@IllumeEltanin I think I should start making one myself... We'll start looking up the recipes and instructions 😋
@@TimLeeLetsGo it's easy. I've been making them this way for 37 years.
Only use U-bett's syrup. Their chocolate syrup is traditional, but any of their syrups can be used for different flavors. If you can get a seltzer siphon, use it, but otherwise use a fresh can of seltzer each time you make one. Even unopened bottles of seltzer seem to be too flat to get a good head of foam. Do not use Club Soda or Tonic Water!
I start by chilling a glass pint beer glass in the freezer. When it's frosty cold, pour some dairy into the bottom of the glass, about a quarter to a third of the way up. Pretty much any dairy milk, or even cream, will do.
Tilting the glass like one does when pouring a draught, slowly pour in the seltzer, righting the glass to get the head of foam desired. This will combine the dairy and the seltzer.
Gently pour the U-bett's syrup down the side of the glass. You want to color as little of the head of foam as possible. The amount will be to taste; some like a light flavor while others like it really heavy.
Once the syrup is pooled in the bottom, gently insert a long handled spoon along the side of the glass where you poured in the syrup. Again, you're trying to avoid discoloring the head of foam.
Once the spoon touches the bottom, gently agitate to combine the syrup with the seltzer and dairy. Slide the spoon out carefully, insert the straw, and enjoy!
I only recently saw a video of a man who claimed to have been a soda jerk and showed the way he used to make them on the job. His method is made in a clean sink, as it involves a lot of pressure and the egg cream overflows the glass. But, while I have never seen them made that way in person, I believe him. His egg cream was picture perfect!
But, as picky as I am about them, for me, my method works.
A chocolate soda is the same, only the care to not color the foam is disregarded. The head of foam is the same color as the drink itself, so usually the dairy and syrup is combined before adding the seltzer. This is the most common incorrect method for making an egg cream out on the web.
A phosphate is the same as a soda, minus the dairy. The syrup is put into the glass, the seltzer added, and the two are agitated together.
A New York Plain is strictly seltzer water.
Love seafood! 😋
The fact u didn't dip at all in the Russian dressing made me die a lil inside 😂
Can’t wait to travel again
wow that looked so good!
Highly recommend LA, Matthew! Let's grab a steak together over there one day 😋
Glad you had fun! FYI, it is Canter's Deli, not Carter's, that I believe you are referring to in your post and video that was the other great deli option...
Thanks Robert, that's right.. I meant to say Canter's.. we'll need to give it a try next time 😋
Not sure when you'll be in LA next but you should check out All Day Baby, Lasita, Dollar Hits, and Lodge Bread.
Yummy!!!
Gosh Tim, the food looked delicious at the San Pedro Market, but I could not handle the lines and wait. You have more patience than me.
It was pushing my patience 😉. Really grateful for Ali to share her beverage with me after being unsuccessful in the lines 🙂
WONDERFUL VIDEO THANKS
Woow seafood 🦀 looks awesome.💥
It was quite nice though it was a bit on the pricey side 😉
Great video Tim
Tim, you are such a good guy. bless your soul. =D
Thank you so much for your kind comment. All the best to you and yours 🙂
The food looks great at the market but I would never have the patience!🙂
That’s a lot of food for one person!
I always was taught by Mainers that lobster needs to be cooked live, that it decomposes quickly after being dispatched. I was surprised to see it offered this way. I can only imagine the price.
The Mainers are right 👍
Your the best Tim !!
Just grateful that everyone were so engaging here in LA
Really Enjoying your Broadcasts.~merci. :)
Thank you so much 🙂
Hello 👋🏾 found your page 📄 your positive vibe made me add you thank you 🙏🏾
Any thoughts of the pastrami sandwiches comparing East coast vs west coast?
I didn't like the grilled sandwich here at Langer's.. but I'm not sure if that's a East coast West coast thing 😋
That’s My favorite place down in San Pedro. You got Cajun seasoning.
Cajun seasoning and butter was exceptionally good 😋
If you're still in LA, there are tens of thousands of restaurants and food trucks. Smorgasbord LA is an interesting place to try all kinds of unique foods. Some days they BBQ a whole alligator. LA draws people from all around the world so we have restaurants that represent cuisine from everywhere. The San Gabriel Valley has amazing Chinese and Taiwanese food. We have a Little India and Little Saigon in Orange Country. Regional Mexican cuisine is everywhere and usually quite cheap. When my daughter moved away, the thing these missed the most is all the food choices.
And don't miss Filipinotown.
Where's Filipino town?! 😋😋😋
I did get a chance to go to the smorgasbord in LA and it was quite fantastic.. a friend took me to little Saigon as well and really enjoyed it too
@@TimLeeLetsGo Hi TIm, Historic Filipino Town in near Downtown and McArthur Park. In starts on Beverly Blvd and runs along the 110 freeway. More recently, its become home to many new Filipino restaurants like Dollar Hits, $1 grill your own meat sticks. Mark Weins and Sonny did a UA-cam episode on the region as did the Rockstar Eater.
Congrats on the sponsorship and great video Tim 😄we have something like this in Houston but I don't think we'll need a loan officer though 🤣$72.99/lb for lobster😵💫the boston lobster feast is definitely a steal 😄will check out this place the next time I'm in LA but not on the weekend for sure 😁 Thanks Tim !
U shoulda just got the #19. U need the lettuce on the sandwich it makes it so much better
You should do an LA Taco Trip Tim.
Forget about those wannabes in the buffets.

New York Deli in Torrance, CA has humongous deli sandwiches. Get one and share with up to 4 people.
Thank you so much and definitely adding that to the list!
I'm glad I ate before I saw this. .. Cheers to you. ..
LoL thank you Laurie 🙂
Hi Tim. Like your videos. Went to AYCE buffet at the Palms in Las Vegas and they didn't have nearly as much food as in your video. Also the one day per week all you can eat lobster was limited to only one per person due to shortage after waiting on line for 4 hours to get into the buffet. Truly, AYCE doesn't deserve the pedestal which you placed them on!
I did not get a chance to visit the Palms ayce Buffet after the lockdown.. and I heard they had a lobster buffet as well. Been really looking forward to trying it but thanks for the heads up about the 4-Hour wait! I remember they had something similar to the Silverton casino which I did manage to visit. It can get pretty hectic for sure
