Best Buffet in LA! | Feasting on Lobster, King Crab, Prime Rib at Universal Studios @ Universal City

- (Sept 1, 2019 update: There has been multiple comments posted over the last weekend that the selection of this buffet has been reduced; with no more king crab and only smaller (half) lobsters offered. This did not reflect my experience there (on Aug 11, 2019). Please note that I am not sponsored in anyway and absolutely do not take any free meals from the places I visit.)
Sometimes, either by chance or by luck, one happens to stumble upon an amazing meal when they least expect it; this was one of those times. While traveling and visiting Universal Studios and Universal City with some friends on our trip to Los Angeles, I did some exploring on my own. Feeling a bit peckish with all the walking, I searched for restaurants around me and followed a link that promised a lobster, seafood, and prime rib buffet. That promise of an amazing seafood meal was fulfilled in spades!
The $69 buffet at Cafe Sierra was an amazing experience with massive king crab offerings, lobsters done to perfection, and many great cuts of meats and international offerings. This was the best buffet I've found in Los Angeles!
Great atmosphere and welcoming servers and hosts, this clearly was one of the most enjoyable meals I've had. If you're in the area, or are visiting/touring the LA area, Universal City, or Universal Studios, this is definitely my highly recommended place to have a memory (and large) meal.

This is untrue Restaurant. I went this Cafe this Evening Sunday September 01, 2019. There is no Lobster, no King Crab legs...only snow Crab legs, dry & small 1/2 Lobster.
Hi Tuan, I'm so sorry to hear that you had this experience. Others are commenting about the same thing. I'm going to update the description of the video to reflect yours and other people's experiences. These videos are a hobby of mine, and I do enjoy making them. The last thing I want is to have people misled by these videos. Quite curious to see what happened, and I'll contact the restaurant personally.

Who’d have thought a $70 buffet would be a bargain? Best buffet I’ve ever seen in my life.
It was a surprisingly nice find! Always nice to find a gem from time to time.

@Brian I recall that we all had a big breakfast/brunch in the morning - I believe it was buffet style also. My friends decided to rest up a bit and wasn't up for an early dinner or more food. I kinda treat these places as more of an attraction to visit (along with the food of course) and quite ful to capture this on video. (we met up for a late dinner afterward)

"it's the best buffet in LA" and I would add, probably the best buffet in terms of value, much better than the buffets in Vegas that's for sure. Nice video Tim.

Just got back from Las Vegas, wow did not see anything like this. Huge king crap legs, wow whole lobster, walnut shrimp, oh for heaven's sakes I'm gonna have to take the next flight down.

Oh my,Tim! By far the best buffet at such a reasonable price,$69! The seafood was amazing.That special touch of the lobster being cracked for you. I would have had a hard time deciding (for my carb treat) those dumplings or shrimp tacos. And let’s not forget the beautiful Sushi/sashimi and Prime Rib. I definitely would have splurged on ice cream and a cannoli! Thank you again,Tim💞

Whenever I hit up universal this is hands down one of my favorite places also. Price high but what you get.

Wow! The deserts alone were worth the price. That seafood spread was beautiful, I can see myself eating at least 300 dollars worth of lobster, crab and those oysters! So many other dishes to try too.😲👍🍻

Spent a week at this hotel last christmas whilst staying in LA and ate at this buffet in the evening on christmas day the whole atmosphere and ambience was so lovely very busy but that was to expected. The seafood was absolutely delicious. Especially the lobster thermador. It appears that there are now more lobster options judging by your video.
Will definitely go back with the family next year christmas.

I think Sundays might have more selection. I haven't been to this buffet in years, but it definitely didn't have king crab back when. That I know for sure.

I was so impressed with your Keto selection of fatty Prime Rib and 🦞. Then you hit the dessert bar and it’s all downhill from there, especially the donut ice cream. But it was worth it. $69 for king crab and lobster. That’s a good deal. I’ll be sure to look out for the cafe at Universal city next I’m in LA

Hi there, I totally agree! I like it much better than the Sterling brunch as it was quite relaxed and the lobsters and crabs etc were cook really really well! just having fun with the ice cream sandwich and very glad that the server was able to accommodate the strange request. Thank you again 🙂

You should go to the morongo buffet Thursday and Friday and the San Manuel buffet Wednesday and Thursday both of them casino they both are good also all you can eat lobsters and 🦀 legs half the price and really really good.
