How on earth did you squeeze all that info into just 25 minutes? This is brilliant. Without having to go to another video, I’ve learned how to use the essentials of FilmicPro, some quick lighting setups, and 4 basic camera movements which will be easy for me to remember. You’ve covered all the basics like settings on your smartphone, planning your story, simple audio, sound effects, my golly gosh, just everything. But I still want to know more, so I can’t wait to get hold of the full smartphone course. This has bee so inspirational.

I've been in the film industry for over 20 years and this is definately the most comprehensive course I've ever seen online. I subscribed to the professional course after leaving the professional big budget industry and started my own small business working for myself. This course was huge help to starting out on my own, especially considering the very minimal cost, and even though I had most of the technical experience already, there was still heaps to learn. The 14 Day Filmmaker Course was a very eye opening and fun experience for me. I loved the presentation, examples and the fast but effective pace. Each segment kept me engaged and learning. I feel like I was able to finally understand the terms, phrases, settings, tips and much more, which before were things I hadn't fully understood. I'm using the Redmi Note 11 and I took the 14 day filmaker course, after watching this video, and 2 weeks later I tried these techniques, and had experience with some DSLRs and apply them to my phone, recorded a short movie for my school, and I got first place!!! I really thank you so much!!! Even some schoolmates think I'm a videographer lol
My favorite part of the 14 day film maker course is the fact that there's a huge emphasis on the fundamentals and it makes it very practical to build on those skills
I love how simple 14 day filmmaker was. Even the least tech savvy of us was able to at least grasp enough to make something great. A smartphone specific course is definitely needed, for those of us who used our phones for the original course, which was still more about cameras etc.
My favourite part of the 14 Day Filmmaker is the section on editing workflows for the 3 main editing software suites. I've been using Premiere Pro in my business for a number of years now, but I still learned a few nice tricks that have saved me time. I especially like the split timeline approach for sifting through footage. Also the data management tip on using an SDD drive to manage all projects from. I switch between an iMac and MacBook so using this SSD approach makes a lot of sense. I'm also excited to learn about DaVinci Resolve, but have never felt like I had the time, but through 14DFM I now have access to nice tutorial which will condense the main things I need to know about this platform.
This is probably one of the better overall videos I’ve seen on UA-cam around mobile film making (and I’ve seen a ton!) Great work! As a side note, the Filmic app has a new (I think) digital stabilisation tool for iOS devices that works like a gimbal without a gimbal. The results are pretty snazzy. The only downside is that there can be significant lag when filming in cinematic modes. If you practise with it for a while you get used to it pretty easily. For me it’s not a gimbal replacement but it’s pretty darn close.
I am a video professional of 40 years and the "14 Day Filmmaker" is WELL produced and covers much of the principles I teach in my own classes. I even learned a few things about today's cellphone cameras I didn't know. NEVER stop learning!!

I got the 14 day filmmaker course and I've learned a lot more than what I thought I would... I have an Canon T3i and an iPhone 12 pro, I love the quality of my smartphone a lot more than my camera and I don't have the budget to get another camera... but I do want to shoot content so I just need to practice at it... The best thing about the 14 day filmmaker course is that the creators built in time for you to practice! The videos are just like this one - clear and straight to the point - so they don’t take too long. The extra time is for letting your creative juices flow! I always take bunch of notes and then don’t do anything with them, but with these courses I put on a timer and I know that after 2 hrs I am done for the day. Therefore, getting started within 14 days is a promise you can keep as long as you do your work.

You are so correct about the importance of lighting. I got into photography back in my teens... in the 1940s... and the first book on photography that I bought was Painting With Light. I don't care if it's a smartphone or a pinhole camera, lighting reigns.

I’m a perfectionist by nature, working on projects that I want to start can be quite overwhelming because I fear that I would have enough information to perform well at my project and I search frantically for the things I need in a bid to make things perfect. how do you get the large video files onto your pc to edit them? it's always a nightmare trying to transfer thru icloud and all that drama.

How do you make the background so dim, but the foreground so bright and clear?
You are so correct about the importance of lighting. I got into photography back in my teens... in the 1940s... and the first book on photography that I bought was Painting With Light. I don't care if it's a smartphone or a pinhole camera, lighting reigns.

I’m a perfectionist by nature, working on projects that I want to start can be quite overwhelming because I fear that I would have enough information to perform well at my project and I search frantically for the things I need in a bid to make things perfect. For someone who never been trained in video production, I found that 14 day filmmaker is an excellent course to learn on all aspects of shooting, composition, lighting etc. I really benefited from the content and applied the tricks and tips from the course to make my videos look professional.

my issue with smartphone filming is how do you manage storage? is there a protip on how move footage quickly or on how to be efficient with memory?
