They can be the horrible human beings from a moral perspective but acting was top notch and i felt every scene with them this season.
Well, he revealed not to be the Joffrey people expected. He showed love for his son. His death affected him the most while others wanted a "political drama". He also shows concern for the smallfolk while Aemond didn't care about them. We saw his bond with Sunfyre in ep4 during the dragonpit scene in which Sunfyre cuddled him. Also you can notice that Sunfyre tuned over at the last minute and fell on his injured belly to protect Aegon then craddled him at the end, showing that Sunfyre is the only one who truly loves Aegon just like in the book in which they have the strongest bond between dragon/rider. And finally, he was too funny. All his scenes were hilarious. The "you all bore me" killed me😂
They do EVERYTHING for Rhaenyra. 1. Changing characters like aegon and making him a a grapist that like child fight to show he is a worse person than rt. 2. Eliminating characters like the silent 5, nettles, and maelor because they make rhaenyra character worse is biased. 3. Changing events to make the audience to hate the greens such as blood and cheese shows biased. 4. Creating a prophecy and getting an animal that proves divine leadership shows the biased of the writers for rhaenyra. All changes made was for one character and for one team which completely goes against to what the whole dance was about..... that neither side was good or evil n both sides were equally bad.
The are more team green biased. - Making alicent a child instead of an abusive adult. - making it cannon that rhaenyra’s kids are bastards - making criston cole the poor innocent lover boy when he was with a CHILD rhaenyra. - making daemon kill his wife - making Aegon a “good dad” even tho he doesn’t care about jaheara - making Aegon a “good king” even tho he wasn’t. - Daemon randomly choking rhaenyra - and constantly stating how awful rhaenyra is throughout the show simply because she has bodily autonomy. Y’all lack media literacy if you think the writers are team black. Plus one of the writers justified Aegon being a grapist and said that he wasn’t bad for it.
@@Lynn0927 More team green biased lol really? Lets go over this. They made Alicent a child to make her sympathetic n so rhaenyra would have a best friend n then they also had Alicent betrayed her entire family for Rhaenyra at the end of season 2. Rt kids were always rumored to be bastards the writers didn’t make the change for the sake of making rt look bad or even supporting the greens. They changed the skin tone so they can have diversity in their show that is all. They made Criston being taken advantage of Rhaenyra but they also made Criston a guy with massive road rage to kill a guy at a wedding, killing beezebury by accident, sleeping with alicent to make him negligent kings guard duty who allowed blood and cheese to happen. Aegon was very clear good dad in the books and the show hasn’t portrayed aegon as a good king but a guy who tried to do good and fails miserably n that is what he was in the books. The show however made him like child fights and grapes a hand maiden. Where did one of the the writers justified aegon grape? Please provide a link. The writers clearly never liked daemon ill give u that but the show writers clearly have forgotten that the whole point of the dance was that neither side was good or evil and the show has clearly made the point to portray rhaenyra as the chosen one and should be considered the good one. The writers clearly have a biased for one faction n its pretty obvious which side they deem the heroes and which side the villains.
1. They made alicent a child to force sympathy for her. Rhaenyra already had a best friend that they basically erased so they didn’t need to do that. 2. They could have had rhaenys have dark hair or made the boys have white hair and had it be more hearsay but they didn’t because they wanted to make the audience think less of rhaenyra. 3. They still wrote the scene in a way to make you justify criston’s hatred and abuse towards rhae. (Even tho he was a grown man and she was a teenager) 4. I’ll try to find the article again 5. The point of the dance is mysogony. That’s it. Yes it is used to show the overall issue with monarchy but this is a story of mysogony. Rhaenyra was userped and killed because she is a woman. No other reason. Plus the dance of the dragons is based on a real life war that was over MYSOGONY. The writers are stupid and want to make it a “choose a side” thing. George did not write the book intending for a bunch of people to be team green because by having audiences be team green, you are having audiences be team mysogony. And the writers are stuck trying to make a “ feminist, two women torn apart by evil men, and everyone is bad” story instead of making it a tragic story of a family ripping itself apart because it couldn’t accept a woman. And watching that woman become what they expected of her because of all she’s lost.
@@Lynn0927 1.What best friend r u talking about? Laena? N again they made Alicent rt best friend in the show and in the season 2 finale they made her betray her entire family for rhaenyra….how is that not biased towards rt. 2. I wish they didn’t race swap any characters but the show runners made some characters as Black because they didn't want it to be 'another bunch of white people on the screen.’ In no way did they do it to make rhaenyra look bad or make the greens seem more right. 3. “They still wrote the scene in a way to make you justify criston’s hatred and abuse towards rhae” n yet they still made a lot of changes to his character so he can be more hated. 4. Their were plenty of reasons y rhaenyra was usurped and a part of it was mysogony but the entire dance wasn’t just based of misgony its also because rhaenyra was a horrible pick to rule. 5. What war r u referring to that was real the George based this war on? Show wise their r more reasons to dislike rt as ruler than the books. But the show runners clearly have made alot of changes to favor rhaenyra. As I have stated earlier excluding characters like maelor, nettles, the silent five and changing characters like aegon is all for the blacks. They Changed certain events to favor rhaenyra. Yeah, I fully agree with you on highlighting the difference between a character being a good character vs. a good person. People who can't tell that difference I think are being deliberately obtuse.
He was fantastic. You could tell he had good intentions and wanted to be seen as a good and brave king but nobody took him seriously. The way everyone around he treated him led to his downfall. He was pretty stupid though that being said
Yes he had great intentions when he assaulted everyone he could (including 2 of his siblings), caused a war, and killed countless innocents. He’s so sweet and considerate 🥰.
This is the Aegon we should have seen in season one, just like Aegon in the book. Drunk most of the time, slumped over the throne, concerned with all the wrong things, just an embarrassment-it's great. I love Aegon, and he and Rhaenyra of the book are my favourite characters. I love them both. 😍
Well dyana was a victim according to the last season. So Mysaria could take her as one of spises in Kingslanding right? But it's like even she forgot the whole incident. The truth is showrunners regret putting that scene in the series and now they're trying to erase it.
I agree with you that they ruined Alicent's Character. Some People think she knows that Aegon escaped and that she's manipulating Rhaenyra This would actually be great,as Alicent would hand the Capital over to Rhaenyra, thereby avoiding bloodshed among the Small Folk without betraying her own children. But given the fact that she asked Rhaenyra to run away with her and she's been outside of the City for days,I don't this is a deception. This is no longer a family feud. It's a war of annihilation and both sides are out for blood and heads on spikes.Given how terrible of a mother Alicent was to Aegon, abusing him, forcing the Crown on his head, not trying to comfort or help him but instead ridicules him after he lost his son and says that he should be naught more than a royal puppet and not even being willing to say thar she loves him,if he were to take back the Throne and find out about his mother's treachery he might even take her head.
The writers are so focused on man bad, woman good that they made all the men interesting and the women boring pacifists 😂. Rhaenyra and Alicent are interesting in the books but in the show they do nothing.
Aegon reminds me of Dany's brother Viserys. An awful person but there's just enough depth given to them to make how they behave understandable and slightly empathetic. And whilst sexual assault is evil, so is having dozens of people slaughtered by Vermithor in your determination to get a new dragonrider.
Why do team green Stan’s always play the “SA isn’t as bad as what the woman did “ card? It’s disrespectful to SA survivors. Plus Aegon murdered just as many people simply because he could. All of the dragon seeds knew the risked, rhae warned them. Aegon has SA’d COUNTLESS women through the show and killed many innocents. Y’all are just terrible people. STOP EXCUSING SA. Real people get SA’d. I’ve never heard of someone irl getting eaten by a dragon that they willingly approached.

Honestly, i know many people accuse season 2 to be extremely biased towards team black but i feel that season 1 does more to take team black as the "right" team with how especially aegon is introduced and portrayed. Season 2 aegon, even in his rage and cruelty and honestly dumb decision-making is a very different character to season 1 aegon. I think the scene with dyana made sense but it shouldnt have been an introductory scene to one of the main characters, and "aegon made his own bastards fight in the pit" is a ridiculous notion. It's very obvious that they wrote most of aegon's s1 scenes with "aegon wrong rhaenyra right" but then realized for b&c to actually hit the viewers, they had to make aegon empathetic for the audience. I will still say that making aegon someone who is searching for praise, positive attention is very on character.
Excellent video. I think there might have been a small missed opportunity about pointing out hows he's a product of generational trauma. Otto is made by his brother to knuckle under and do his duty for family by securing Hightower blood on the throne. He passes that onto his daughter who internalizes it, and both that and her own resentments get passed onto her sons. Aemond is competent, but Aegon is not. So, being both emotionally stunted and outshined by his family, older and younger, he's more frantic to stand out as worthy of praise once he's crowned, for being "strong", however poorly thought through his definition, made evident by his actions.
Aegon is hilarious, even tho hes kinda not the greatest person. Still, I laugh. Also the actor himself acted the hell out of this season. His scene with Larys when he's broken and burnt in bed, was so humanizing, impossible not to feel bad for him. But also he reminded me of his father, cracking jokes about his ween on his (almost) death bed.
Then they say shit like Aegon is IRREDEEMABLE meanwhile a poster of daemon is hanging on their wall ( the guy who groomed his niece, and then shagged said niece THE NIGHT OF HIS WIFES FUNERAL, killed an innocent servant at hightide, beat a soldier who followed the orders of his king, bludgeoned his wife with a ROCK, neglected said wife for YEARS, uses mysaria in his games knowing she isn’t as safe as he is if captured, hired two assassins that killed his grand nephew, STOLE A DRAGON EGG, started a war without the permission of his brother AND KING which is technically a rebellion ETC.) 😐
Because I don’t support rape, abuse, mysogony, usurping, hypocrisy, etc. Team black is just as interesting they just don’t cry about their problems 24/7 and make them everyone else’s problem like the greens. Hope this helps!
Top 10 characters after season 2 (most of these guys are on here simply for making the show feel at least a little bit like early game of thrones) 10. Ulf 9. Alfred Broom (somehow?) 8. Tyland 7. Oscar Tully 6. Simon Strong 5. Aemond 4. Otto 3. Larys 2. Criston 1. Aegon Honorable mentions: Hugh, Cargyll Twins, Jasper Wilde, Orwyle
It won’t matter. If the fandom supports him raping someone and stealing rhaenyra’s throne, clearly they don’t care or have morals when it comes to him.

Before HOTD was announced, i was a strong Black Supporter, but after a few episodes of season two, Aegon-II has become one of my favourite characters in HOTD. To the point of considering supporting Aegon-II over Rhaenyra, at least in the show, I’m still Book Rhaenyra over Book Aegon-II, but show Aegon-II is so good. I know about Aegon-II SA Dyana, which unfortunately is common in Westeros, but the whole watching Child Fighting Pit was probably a lie told by Erryk to convince his twin brother Arryk to join Rhaenyra. Even before season two, I’ve been interested in reading fanfics about Aegon-II as I’ve been interested in his character since I’ve watch him in season one, and now he has become one of my top ten favourite characters. As a Black, I’m supporting Aegon-II for season three.
No doubt he was amazing this season. He became infinitely more sympathetic and more consistent. He’s still an awful man but he is a man who’s dealt with horrible shit. People try to frame him like he is Joffrey, but he’s not. First Aegon isn’t a coward or a sadist, he’s willing to fight his own battles and kill people himself while looking them in the eye. He doesn’t kill anyone out of a sadism rather he kills people out emotional instability, and grief. He grows to be a man that many people can be seen as sympathetic, by people who haven’t ever had the love of their parents or family.
What the writers did to the Greens reminds me of Emily in Paris (badly written trash). A lot of people complained the protagonist was unlikeable and the side characters like Camille and Sylie were liked better. In response, the second season made them horrible too just so the protagonist could look good by comparison.
I think he was amazing in rhaenyra the cruel! To me that episode shows he has wicked great acting chops and they need to give him more dramatic scenes so he can shine!
@@Lynn0927 Tf u talking about?! making Aegon a grapest turned everyone against him And removing the one thing that could make the audience sympathize with Alicent which is her love for her childeren instead they absolutely demolished her character and made her betray her family and basically gave Rhaenyra her approval of killing her sons 😂😂😂
They have still taken too many liberties with Aegon’s character. In Fire & Blood his face was not burned nor was there any mention of him losing his sausage, and Aemon never betrayed him either. At the end of the book he is literally building statues of his brothers and looking forward to his remarriage. Why would he do either of those things if his brother betrayed him and he was a eunuch.
@@equusquaggaquagga536 He never lost it, he just simply does not have the ability to satisfy because his body is broken leaving him at least temporarily impotent. his sister wife already predict his future. So he will see victory and rule in a wooden throne. The only one who genuinely show passion to Aegon after his accident was Larys Strong. He did the right thing while his mother agree to kill him.
Which doesn’t make sense because the throne in the books is HUGE so I get why he COULDNT climb all the way up but we saw viserys climb the throne and he WAS HALF DEAD (I wish I was exaggerating but he literally died THAT NIGHT😐) so a half dead man can climb 7 steps but Aegon can’t?? It’s not so high and huge that he can’t be lifted onto the throne before the courtiers come in…………… so why would the king sit in a wooden chair instead of his throne (we know Aegon has a issue with people thinking of him as weak so wouldn’t that be the ultimate omen of weakness? a king that can’t sit his throne much less claim it…?) I just pay attention…….. something the writers don’t
Canonical Aegon traits/characteristics they gave to Rhaenyra: -Aegon's motivation to protect his family is given to Rhaenyra, they even have Rhaenys say "The Greens are coming for you, Rhaenyra. And your children." And have that be the final line of the season 1 recap. As if in the book it isn't Aegon who is told Rhaenyra is coming for him and his whole children and that that ALONE convinces him to become King -All but admitted to making show Syrax the book Sunfyre equivalent. Ryan Condal said Syrax is a golden dragon who has an incredible bond with her rider and is the kind of dragon you'd want to put on your banner. And called the bond between Aegon and Sunfyre “maester propaganda” -Has Rhaenyra want to fly into battle, which she doesn't in the book, to make her seem as brave and selfless as Aegon -Made it seem like Rhaenyra didn't want the throne and was forced to take it, which is basically what happens to Aegon in the book -Meanwhile, they gave Rhaenyra starving the smallfolk and them rebelling against her to Aegon. -They had to make Aegon a gRapist who enjoys watching children fight just to try and desperately make it so he wouldn't become the fan fave, and it still isn't working. They have done everything in their power to stop Aegon from becoming beloved, and it still didn't work.
If you ask me, i think those two, Diana & Aegon where lovers at some time, maybe even she was in love with him like the Girl in love of the bad boy, or the my love would cure him, and he only wants to have fun, get drunk, all what he want is scape from the depths of hate and despair to the heights of transcendent joy

I'm wondering if they're going to have Diana be the mother of Gaemon Palehair. That would at least make her repeated inclusion make some sort of sense? Also, fully agree that they crafted such a good character who you feel conflicted rooting for.
@dannieandrews No, Dyana was given moon tea and she wasn't shown to be pregnant this season. She's also too young to be his mother. If anything that child they showed at the rat pit is Gaemon.

I agree the Actor Tom Glynn-Carney made that character. He can find humor in just a gesture or the tone of his voice. You could easily dislike him as you do Joffrey, but the actor brings so much to his performance.
The thing is I think they did a good job with team green this season minus alicent and team red was kinda bumbling this season and I have a reversed opinion that team red plus alicent was phenomenal in season one and team green was kind of lacking
I would also like to point out that in the book, Aegon said my sister is the rightful heir. What kind of brother takes his sister's birthright? Only when Criston Cole manipulated him did he take the throne. Rhaenyra wanted to show her brothers mercy. "Let them come to Dragonstone," she said. "Let them bend the knee and swear fealty, as they are of my own blood, and no man or woman should be a kinslayer."
in that very same book it is suggested or at least hinted rhaenyra had something to do with laenor's death. or was ok with it after daemon had something to do with it. so nah
This isn’t controversial at all! At least not to me. Team Green is annoying lol but the way Tom Glynn added so much levity to the beginning of the season through adding layers and complexity to Aegon. Amazing
AEGON IS ALSO MINIMIZED HE IS RUTHLESS A MAN WHO FINDS PLEASURE SOMEWAY, SOMEHOW EVEN IF HE HAS TO WATCH AEGON II ISNT WEAK, NOR FOOLISH BUT HE IS eager... they weaken all the characters honestly and the story
I do not agree with your take on Diana's character. I think she and the woman from the Brothel serve to the purpose of showing how the smallfolk turns against royalty, by being mistreated and dismissed. It is up to season 3 to show if the payoff is going to be worthy enough tho. Since I was able to look a it that way, It didn't distracted me from enjoying Aegon and even liking him. I see him as a messed up kid that haven't known any better and shouldn't be allowed nowhere near to power. In contrast to Rhaenyra who's kinda making a conscious decision to dive into Targaryen madness.
@ the male characters were more intelligent, though. All the men on Rhaenyra’s council and all the men on Aegon’s council were proven that they were better suited for power than the women.

It has nothing to do with gender of the fans. Okay Aegon's scene with Diana is only a rumor in the book but F&B is unreliable according to the showrunners so we analyze the characters from the series. In season 2, Aegon did a ton of things and basically moved the story forward but Rhaenyra's doings can be summarized about the dragon seeds and only that. Rhaenyra is not hated by the fans but she is a forgettable character compare to Aegon. She has no agency and no ambitious on her own. By the show's narrative Rhaenyra's character has been destroyed and more likely is treated as a plot device that an actual person.

Not know how to rule? Assault a member of his kingsgaurd? Attempt and fail to kill rhaenyra in her sleep? Murder a bunch of innocents for no reason? Get himself paralyzed? Lose a battle in 5 seconds? What of these things is impressive and moving the plot forward? The most Aegon did for the plot was get parlayed. The greens moved the plot sure but not Aegon. And again you are completely ignoring my statement that is Aegon is a grapist, mysogonistic, abusive, usurper. And men like you will always ride for him because you are probably no better and clearly see no issue with his actions if you can turn around and say he should be king. Even if rhaenyra is “boring” it is better than being stupid, abusive, and cruel. Rhaenyra being boring doesn’t justify the extreme hatred many men in the fandom (even this UA-camr) have for rhaenyra.

It was Mushroom's version and that is not something that should be adapted ever, for any character in the show.
He doesn’t know because he probably randomly assaulted the mom one night and doesn’t even remember her or her name
1:11 nah its nothing about being misogynistic or team green. Im myself female and team black but damnnn characters of Otto and Aegon were just amazingly portrayed and played.
- making it cannon that rhaenyra’s kids are bastards
- making criston cole the poor innocent lover boy when he was with a CHILD rhaenyra.
- making daemon kill his wife
- making Aegon a “good dad” even tho he doesn’t care about jaheara
- making Aegon a “good king” even tho he wasn’t.
- Daemon randomly choking rhaenyra
- and constantly stating how awful rhaenyra is throughout the show simply because she has bodily autonomy.
Y’all lack media literacy if you think the writers are team black. Plus one of the writers justified Aegon being a grapist and said that he wasn’t bad for it.
@@Lynn0927 lol what?
(Even tho he was a grown man and she was a teenager)
4. I’ll try to find the article again
@@Lynn0927
1.What best friend r u talking about?
They LITERALLY creating a prophesy and an animal that shows rt as the chosen one.
This is why I am scared for Aegon as a character in S3. I found Alicent and Aemond so good character-wise in S1 then see what happened in S2?!!! If this curse follows Aegon for S3, I will just cry. He's literally the only character along with Larys "grounding" me in this universe. Almost everything else feels like modern commentary😅
I couldn’t have said it better, you know the writing took a nose dive when I can’t even find a single 💩 to give about helaena, alicunt and aemond. Criston cole was good this season too (if you discard the “alicole” ship🤮) and also gwayne Hightower. Literally every body except the two “protagonists” because the dance is no longer a succession crisis between aegon II and rhaenyra NOOOOOO according to Ryan condom and Sara Mess this is about the “power struggle” between two powerful whamen💅 hotd became fanfic the moment they made alicent and rhaenyra “besties”
@@youngveteran6368A power struggle between two women who aren't allowed to hold power by the evil men around them. And they really don't want to fight each other. Like how is central conflict between two characters who don't want to fight. They immediately rush to defend each other from accusations and are quick to forgive even the death of children.
He was pretty stupid though that being said
The entirety of episode 4 and Aegon finally getting pushed over the edge was SO good.
imagine if dyana was cut and we got maelor
Well dyana was a victim according to the last season. So Mysaria could take her as one of spises in Kingslanding right? But it's like even she forgot the whole incident. The truth is showrunners regret putting that scene in the series and now they're trying to erase it.
I agree with you that they ruined Alicent's Character. Some People think she knows that Aegon escaped and that she's manipulating Rhaenyra
This would actually be great,as Alicent would hand the Capital over to Rhaenyra, thereby avoiding bloodshed among the Small Folk without betraying her own children.
As GRRM said himself, "Women are people." Gray, flawed, and complex people.
@@Lynn0927aegon hasn't done anything yet, who did he kil "just because". People are killed irl the means aren't important it's evil no matter what and murder takes the person's entire life, you can recover from ra pe not death.
@@Lynn0927 The SA didn't happen. It's flat out not in the books. Its an invention by the show to hide the fact that Aegon is a better person than Rhaenyra in just about every way. Its funny because it still hasn't fooled anyone. TGC is a much much better actor than Darcy and hes won a lot of people over despite the writers attempted hit job.
I always laugh when people hate in Aegon but are fans of Deamon. The man killed his wife whit a stone he killed his own grandnephew a toddler.
Then they say shit like Aegon is IRREDEEMABLE meanwhile a poster of daemon is hanging on their wall ( the guy who groomed his niece, and then shagged said niece THE NIGHT OF HIS WIFES FUNERAL, killed an innocent servant at hightide, beat a soldier who followed the orders of his king, bludgeoned his wife with a ROCK, neglected said wife for YEARS, uses mysaria in his games knowing she isn’t as safe as he is if captured, hired two assassins that killed his grand nephew, STOLE A DRAGON EGG, started a war without the permission of his brother AND KING which is technically a rebellion ETC.)
😐
@@youngveteran6368 Don't forget Daemon mocked his Nephew's death in S01 and called him "heir for the day".
He is pedo in books and Mysaria is his pimp
I dont understand how can anyone be team black. Greens are better im every category
Because I don’t support rape, abuse, mysogony, usurping, hypocrisy, etc. Team black is just as interesting they just don’t cry about their problems 24/7 and make them everyone else’s problem like the greens. Hope this helps!

If they follow the events of the book, Aegon is going to fed Rhaenyra to his dragon( for vengeance I guess)

Sir, he will only get worse and force other ppl to SA woman since he has no pickle anymore… You better off supporting the small folk. Lol
still waiting for Maegor Royce part 3 😭😭
But Aegon was written better and to be more likeable in S2, and he is the figurehead of that faction if not actually the power?
Tom Glynn-Carney is a darn good actor. ❤️ That about sums it up. The character is a horrible and repulsive person, but interesting. 🤷♂️
Daemon or Aemond are worse.
I think he was amazing in rhaenyra the cruel! To me that episode shows he has wicked great acting chops and they need to give him more dramatic scenes so he can shine!
Excellent video essay. Great argument and well done with the nuance, a pleasure to consume this content. Thank you for your work
I feel like he's more of a tragic character in the show more than the books
Cause the show runners are obsessed with him and alicent. They will literally did everything to force audiences to like them.
@@Lynn0927 Tf u talking about?!
making Aegon a grapest turned everyone against him
And removing the one thing that could make the audience sympathize with Alicent which is her love for her childeren instead they absolutely demolished her character and made her betray her family and basically gave Rhaenyra her approval of killing her sons
😂😂😂
They have still taken too many liberties with Aegon’s character. In Fire & Blood his face was not burned nor was there any mention of him losing his sausage, and Aemon never betrayed him either. At the end of the book he is literally building statues of his brothers and looking forward to his remarriage. Why would he do either of those things if his brother betrayed him and he was a eunuch.
Do you think the loss of his sex drive is psychological and not because he received 2nd degree burns all over his body?
@@equusquaggaquagga536 He never lost it, he just simply does not have the ability to satisfy because his body is broken leaving him at least temporarily impotent. his sister wife already predict his future. So he will see victory and rule in a wooden throne. The only one who genuinely show passion to Aegon after his accident was Larys Strong. He did the right thing while his mother agree to kill him.

@@AmStronggg that is true but some times he show genuine compassion to Aegon.
@@youngveteran6368 He becomes a cripple and loses the use of his legs.
Can you do a video on if Sansa had left with the Hound during Battle of Blackwater?
Canonical Aegon traits/characteristics they gave to Rhaenyra:
-Aegon's motivation to protect his family is given to Rhaenyra, they even have Rhaenys say "The Greens are coming for you, Rhaenyra. And your children." And have that be the final line of the season 1 recap. As if in the book it isn't Aegon who is told Rhaenyra is coming for him and his whole children and that that ALONE convinces him to become King
-All but admitted to making show Syrax the book Sunfyre equivalent. Ryan Condal said Syrax is a golden dragon who has an incredible bond with her rider and is the kind of dragon you'd want to put on your banner. And called the bond between Aegon and Sunfyre “maester propaganda”
-Has Rhaenyra want to fly into battle, which she doesn't in the book, to make her seem as brave and selfless as Aegon
-Made it seem like Rhaenyra didn't want the throne and was forced to take it, which is basically what happens to Aegon in the book
-Meanwhile, they gave Rhaenyra starving the smallfolk and them rebelling against her to Aegon.
-They had to make Aegon a gRapist who enjoys watching children fight just to try and desperately make it so he wouldn't become the fan fave, and it still isn't working. They have done everything in their power to stop Aegon from becoming beloved, and it still didn't work.
You should do a "What if Balon accepted Robb's Offer"
If you ask me, i think those two, Diana & Aegon where lovers at some time, maybe even she was in love with him like the Girl in love of the bad boy, or the my love would cure him, and he only wants to have fun, get drunk, all what he want is scape from the depths of hate and despair to the heights of transcendent joy

so funny you feel the need to justify everything you say.. all my favourite characters are the morally grey ones, complex or entertaining ones, as are most peoples in shows like these

Aegon II, I have to agree with you that he is a well written character. I don't like the Sunfyre and being his dragon dead are some my main issues.

Aegon's most redeeming quality is his dragon and the actor who plays him.

Although aegon is the great character he is just like his father who was the great character in s1.
Joffrey vs Aegon sword fight
What if Rhaenyra (or Daemon) claimed Vhagar, instead of Syrax
I would also like to point out that in the book, Aegon said my sister is the rightful heir. What kind of brother takes his sister's birthright? Only when Criston Cole manipulated him did he take the throne.
Rhaenyra wanted to show her brothers mercy. "Let them come to Dragonstone," she said. "Let them bend the knee and swear fealty, as they are of my own blood, and no man or woman should be a kinslayer."
in that very same book it is suggested or at least hinted rhaenyra had something to do with laenor's death. or was ok with it after daemon had something to do with it. so nah
What if daemon and caraxes lived what if the tragedy at summer hall never happened

He is not jerk but he doesn't seem better than rhaenyra
Aegon the Dragon**** haha

I do not agree with your take on Diana's character. I think she and the woman from the Brothel serve to the purpose of showing how the smallfolk turns against royalty, by being mistreated and dismissed. It is up to season 3 to show if the payoff is going to be worthy enough tho. Since I was able to look a it that way, It didn't distracted me from enjoying Aegon and even liking him. I see him as a messed up kid that haven't known any better and shouldn't be allowed nowhere near to power. In contrast to Rhaenyra who's kinda making a conscious decision to dive into Targaryen madness.
The acting in this show is superb. My favorites are Daemon, Larys, and Ser Simon.
Gotta love how this show went so feminist that it proved the patriarchy right. 🤣 Literally, none of the women in this show should have power.
Actually none of the men should have power either.
@ the male characters were more intelligent, though. All the men on Rhaenyra’s council and all the men on Aegon’s council were proven that they were better suited for power than the women.
The best character is actually…. Criston Cole

I need to know what it is that makes male ASOIAF fans so aggressively love, defend, and glorify a mysgonistic grapsit and hate rhaenyra so much.
@@Loki-g3kbe fr. First of all it is typically men defending Aegon being a grapist and being discussing towards rhaenyra so yes it is gender. Second what did Aegon do of value this season? Get drunk? Not know how to rule? Assault a member of his kingsgaurd? Attempt and fail to kill rhaenyra in her sleep? Murder a bunch of innocents for no reason? Get himself paralyzed? Lose a battle in 5 seconds? What of these things is impressive and moving the plot forward? The most Aegon did for the plot was get parlayed. The greens moved the plot sure but not Aegon. Plus many things were just “rumors” in the book. Rhaenyra having bastards was technically a rumor and they made it fact in the show.
@@Loki-g3k I agree that they are not writing rhaenyra properly and are just using her as a plot devise. However, rhaenyra could be the most useless character to the plot and I will FOREVER pick her over Aegon.

@Lynn0927 The writing kinda favors Aegon too because they gave him funny scenes and up side and downs. You know his story is going forward. I think this is the reason why is he likable by some fans in this season. Giving him a sympathetic backstory also helps. You could say the writers are misogynistic as well to not pay attention to these issues.
