I have lived with back pain for many years until learned a excellent treatment.
I've suffered with back pain for a long time until found a very effective treatment.
What's it.pls rply
this taping technique has worked the best for me and has brought me relief!!!!!!!THANK YOOOOU!!!!!!!!
+Art Sanchez I am pleased this taping technique helped you. Regards JG
Which tape is this
I have suffered from back pain for decades till found a excellent cure.
Nice explanation.
Why you start this tape from proximal to distal for erector spinae ..
And in lower back you apply from distal to proximal
What do I do if my whole spine is hurting and I have pain between my shoulderblades? My shoulderblades are not in pain, but on the side nearest my spine (if you know what I mean). What tecnique is working?
Can I tape the upper and lower back at the same time?? Or just one
John I've been diagnosed with ankylosing Spondylitis. I've tried everything. will this help
I love your demo videos Mr. Gibbons . Thank you. Can we combine this technique whit that you show for pain in neck and levator scapulae.
Yes you can! Regards JG
Thank you it's very helpful.
Regards MK
What is the principle behind little to no stretch.
I understand that 50-75% lifts the muscle is the 10% just a small assistance as the erector spinae are not the primary concern? :)
y not tape the the spine region? it would provide stability to spine,
My tape came in 10 inch pre-cut pieces. What lengths are you using?
By anchoring the 3rd and 4th I-Strips to the left scapular, does that only retract the opposite scapular? What would be the difference if I was to split the tape in the middle and use the tape that way? Or to use the middle of the tape as an anchor, apply 75% stretch to one side and then to tape the other side with 75% stretch?
I would try the way you suggest and see what the patient says, thats what I do sometimes as it is the patient that will be wearing the tape for a few days
Those strips don't come out from sweating?
I have suffered with back pain for years until found out a effective treatment.
Yes the Kinesiology taping technique...

No opioids !
I have a sprained spine and my main areas of pain are my upper back and lower back... I also have developed quite a bit of pain in my neck and trapaezius muscle... will KMS tape help...???
Its worth a try as nothing to loose, if you are in Oxford then you can come for an appointment. Regards and good luck
Interesting, so the tape stays on for a while? guessing that lose or weak muscles are a high percentage of back problems?
Then KTape only helps to reduce the symptoms and sometimes 3-5 days is required, regards JG
Hi John, great video!! My wife has terrible pain from a 'jammed rib' as she seems to hold her left shoulder up when stressed. Is there a brand of tape that works best for this technique that you use?
I use Rocktape as the best one, regards JG
Thank you John! Appreciate you taking the time to reply.
What if the pain Is one on the right side? and where the upper star is? Would you use all 4 in that case?
Lindsey Six If you follow the technique as it will help for pain on either side. Its worth a try at least. Good luck...
Medial border scapular pain how to differentiate is it romboids or serratus anterior pain
If you have pain to the medial border then it could be the muscles you mentioned and easy enough to differentiate as the rhomboids is a retractor and the serrates an a protractor. Pain to this area could be a referral site for other structures, like the cervical spine, ribs, lungs etc so ask the right questions (cough, sneeze, laughing, deep breathing etc cause any symptoms). Hope that helps, regards JG
AND you could play tic tac toe on her back :D
Ya sure may be win
I have a lot of lower back pain and I just got kt tape but I used a piece today but it did not stay on? Why did it not stay on and how do I make it stay on?
I use Rocktape and that works well for me, I have also used KT tape and that was good as well. Maybe if you have any cream or body perspiration then it won't stick very well, its hard to say why without looking at you. You can try a spray adhesive before you apply the tape and that would help the tape stay on for longer........Hope that helps
She is gorgeous. Will defenitely try this technique soon, thanks.
You’re welcome 😊
What is that band type of thibg called I want to apply it as I have severe thoracic back pain
The tape is Rocktape, regards JG
If I have an acute pain that comes and goes in my back (right side only) in an area that I would define near the scapula (specifically rhomboid and infraspinatus area) what kind of application should I use? do you have a video for that?
This technique should work well for pain in the rhomboids and trapezius, not so good for the infraspinatus muscle though
@@JohnGibbons I have pain in those areas and mid back. Where can I get this tape and can I have someone at home put it for me and for how long? Thanks very much
What if the pain is only on one side? Would you still place the tape on the non-affected side?
Apply on both sides as will help, regards JG
I have pain EVERYDAY in that area and it real effects my day. I just bought Rock tap, I'm trying to find the right technic
Hi Mary, I am sponsored by Rocktape and it is a great product so I am sure it will help if you follow my technique. Good Luck
Thank you!
No problem
Did it help ?
Hey hon. Did your pain get any better?
Hey there, I have lowered my own back pain a lot simply by eating some unknown foods that you could easily find in common place, and change several workouts position.
Would you like to tell me about those foods
I will be grateful to you for this kindness .
What unknown foods? Please share! We are all in so much pain.

i strained my rhomboid will taping it help
Its worth a try as I am sure it will help you
Is this good for pain in the T7/T8? That's where my problem is
Potentially will only reduce some symptoms short term - you need to find out why you have the issue in the first place so see an experienced therapist to assess you, regards JG
I know they will likely start rolling off with brushing against clothing, but how long can you wear these tapes, generally? Thank you for this video... I just had my husband apply them.
3-5 Days is normal to keep tape on for - regards JG
@@JohnGibbonsThank you so much for the reply even these many years since you posted this video! I really appreciate that! My husband is a chiropractor and this is the first time he's worked with KT tape. Your video was very helpful. Thank you again!
Tell us about chest pain
I do in another video, regards JG
What brand of tape are you using?
It is called Tiger K tape and you can buy from my website.
I have pain on left scapula only. Can I put only the left tape alone?
Yes that's fine to do, regards JG
Hii did it help are you fine now
what type of doctor do I see for scapula problems? the Orthopedics is no help and I am sick of paying him just to talk fr 10 minutes and pay 200 dollars for nothing. I dislocated my shoulder and now the scapula seems to stick our more I can't lay flat against a wall on hat side but m god side I can. also my left underarm seems less defined now and droops. I cannot rotate that arm back when holding them up at right angles, I cannot lay flat on my stomach with that arm above shoulder when I lay on that side its pain in shoulder blade and joint and my arm will not lay flat it sticks up when laying on my side. I really want answers and possible solutions
Find a local massage therapist that knows the body and work on the soft tissues. Not one that does "fluffy" oil massage. If you are local to Socal check out my website. myfleshvehicle.com
Better to Consult license Physical therapist
That is exactly where I always have pain, does that tape really work? How can I buy?
The tape wil help, buy it from Rocktape.com, regards JG
She looks all glittery :D
why get the client to round their shoulders and apply the tape to keep them in that position? isn;t that why they are getting the pain in the first place by over stretching ?
You generally lengthen the tissues first before you apply the kinesiology tape, its very different from Athletic taping as in this case you will probably shorten the tissues, however both techniques are very effective
She has a nice back
She has a beautiful back.
She does indeed, 😊 regards JG
Lol True 😅
What if you live alone? Anyone want to come over and tape my back?
Its easier to get a friend to help apply the tape, regards JG
I just taped my own back. It's doable but it's hella difficult
