Sean did very similar to what Blahowicz did. Check the leg kicks, don't bite on the faints, and don't let his jab get going. If you take away those things, his game just gets so much worse. Sean would catch the jab or roll/slip away from it, check the kicks and put his hands up (being defensive rather than throwing) whenever Izzy would faint. Combine that with Sean's pressure, so Izzy had to constantly move, and it was fairly easy work for him. Izzy's game is world class, but people are starting to figure him now. Sean didn't win cause he was more skilled, he won cause he had the right gameplan.

Everytime! Whenever a dominant UFC champ loses, these guys are just licking their chops lol They just can't wait to put over the Bellator fighters/champ in the same div as now the best, while completely discounting the fighter (Sean/DDP) who actually beat The Man (Izzy/Rob). If anything, this result should caution everybody against thinking they know what would happen between 2 fighters e.g that Eblen is the best MW & he beats Sean, Izzy, DDP, Rob, Chimaev, Jared, Costa, etc. Until u see the actual fight, u just don't know & can't be certain. Maybe he could do it but he could also get his ass kicked. Otherwise, great stuff, Sunday fix.

Seans style just had Izzy confused and getting dropped in the first on top of that probably had him more hesitant than normal because he really hasnt been hurt much at all in his UFC career. Izzy will be going on a massive losing streak. Alex took his soul. He got that lucky shot in but eating those hands from Alex did permanent damage. 25:20 If we think in hindsight though it becomes very interesting. Marvin Vettori x2, Kelvin Gastellum, Whittaker in the rematch & Jared Cannonier used pressure VERY SUCCESSFULLY against Izzy.
Izzy received a lot of criticism for those fights because many people saw those fighters landing more headstrikes, backing Izzy up & in vettoris case doing a lot of control on the cage.
Its always been a blueprint that people have used successfully.
Difference this time is Sean closed the kicking range more effectively, ensuring the volume leg kicks couldnt outpoint him. Sean also has better boxing technique and volume than those fighters.
