Congratulations on your Henry purchase! I am a Henry enthusiast, and I have 25 Henrys! They really are excellent firearms, and if you ever have any issues, they will make it right! When you buy a Henry, you get that 100% satisfaction guarantee for life! Can’t go wrong with Henry!🇺🇸👍
25 wow! What a collection. I would love to have a collection like that some day, but it’s gonna take some time because of inventories :(
OUUU fancy pants rich McGee over here…… u know the rest
@@homsandwitch4488 😭😭😭
Hearing that mosquito😂😂😂 I'm from Michigan it's a second language
I bought one a few years ago.. I headed straight to the range. It jammed and just locked up. Guys at the range could not believe it. They said it’s a Henry. Unheard of. I went back to the store with it locked up. They exchanged right in the store. Never had a problem with the new one since. My wife loves shooting it. Calls herself Annie Oakley. 😂It will shoot any make of 22LR. Great rifle.
Lol you hear that mosquito 😂
A great rifle for teaching new shooters. Learning to shoot can be very intimidating, but a .22 lever action is just so fun and easy that AWESOMENESS pushes anxiety aside!
It’s nice because it makes you think and you’re not rushing like you would be with a semi-automatic
I have had my little Henry for 2 years and love it. Picker up 2 Ruger Wranglers to go with it. Its great they all can use the same amo shorts longs and long rifles. I added a Simmons
.22 MAG 4x32mm scope to the Henry, Helps me see the little tree rats in the fall. LOL May lever actions and single actions live forever.
Congratulations on your Henry! I just recently got a H001me, I purchased 2 H001 for my sons for Christmas. I load mine with the action open, also the front hood can be removed easily by sliding it forward
Had mine in hand as I watched. I keep mine next to my recliner in my living room because if you don’t have it with you you don’t have a rifle at all. When you need it.
Of all my guns my Henery is still one of my favorites to shoot & most accurate. I just love it! Enjoy! Good to see ppl still excited about lever actions.
Just bought mine today! Can't wait to get it to the range to get it zeroed in!
Congrats on the new Henry. I’ve a few rimfire and a few centerfire Henry’s. Great video , thank you for sharing.
THAT HOOD SLIDES OFF
Yeah, I took the hood off and turns out, I like the hood on versus off. Go figure 😂
I just got back from buying my first gun.. Henry Frontier lever action. I enjoyed your video! No one there showed me how to use it, so now at least I know how to load it.
I think this is the same model that my grandpa gave me when I was little. Good starter rifle
Congratulations on your Henry! I just recently got a H004. They are sighted well right out of the box. Enjoy!
Nice! I like the golden boys. Such nice pieces of art
Congrats! I got my Henry Silver Boy last year. Beautiful rifles!
The sights on mine (new 10/2023) were pretty coarse, front too wide and short, removed the elevator-still shooting high....I super glued a piece of (.065) welding rod to make kinda a brass bead type sight on the front, then took a thin jewelers file to make a notch in a piece of soup can lid tin I cut out, painted black then double stick taped to the rear sight to make it less coarse/skinnier notch.. the thing shoots amazing now, elevator in mid position shooting 60+ yds.
Great little rifles, got one 4 years ago, and added the Big Boy 357/38 special brass over the summer ... IMHO, a 22. lever gun should be hands down the "first rifle" choice for anybody, from youth, to older beginners to firearms. I think it slows down the shooting, and helps develop accuracy. I'm obviously partial to Henry, but I think Rossi makes a pretty rifle, nearly identical, and roughly same price.
I've never been overly concerned about hands being so near the muzzle. Check, and double check. Always treat the gun as though it is loaded, even if you know its not..... as somebody once said, the best safety is between our ears ... :-)
Get some 22 shorts. CCI CB shorts 710 fps. They are so quiet sounds like a pellet gun. I can shoot in my yard where I live and neighbors don't notice when I have to take care of garden pests.
Hahaha! I was saying the same thing.
Andrew, Happy New Year! CONGRATS on the new rifle & Way to Go on the 6 For 6 !
Happy New Year to you too! Thanks
Just got my first Henry today. Same on, the H001. can't wait to shoot it
I have two of these myself, great little shooters. A henry collection is a great collection, plan to build mine bigger
What’s on your list? I would like a 17hmr and 22wmr and then some bigger calibers like 357, 30-30, 45-70
Thanks for showing the POV of the sights!
The only thing I would change is the receiver, that was a surprise when I opened the box. But the firearm runs without a hitch and after all, I really bought it as a hand-down for my granddaughter. Maybe 2022 will be her first year of shooting. Happy New Year, Andrew!
Excellent to hear. The earlier the better!
Have the same one with the large loop, awesome little gun!!!
Definitely fun to shoot
Enjoy Andrew! You deserve it!
You should consider purchasing a Spee-D-Loader 22 Caliber Rimfire Tube Magazine Rifle Ammunition Loader.
Henry's are excellent!
Happy New Year!! Congratulations on the new rifle. I’m wanting to get the Henry Big Boy .44 mag.
Oh yeah, now we’re talking!
AC- Welcome to the world of Henry Lever Action-so smooth-fantastic firearms-you will love it!! and the next one and the next. The 410X is one to get as well. And that 45-70X as well
Yes, I want a 45-70 so bad, lol
@@andrewmconrad Saw that our local had a Henry 22mag for $449 and thought of you immediately. Hope you have luck building your Henry Collection
I went with the H001t, mostly because of the sights. I wanted the extra weight, from the octagon barrel, but the sights are the same as my H009.
There Sweet lil Firearms,
Happy New Year Everyone
The receiver is actually painted, not blued
Congrats on the new purchase! I've only got one Henry right now (45-70 All Weather Side Gate) and almost bought the same H001 from Bass Pro this past week. If I wasn't still finishing up my Ruger Charger project I would have been all over it. Hell, I still might...I feel the same way about passing these down to the kids. These Henry's feel a little different than the rest of my collection.
I want the same one you have the 45-70 all weather side gate how are you liking it any complaints?
@@coll3595 I absolutely love it. I bought it with the intent for it to share hog hunting duty with my AR-10. I do have one complaint though, it's the cost of the ammo. Obviously it's not a rifle caliber that you'd go plinking hundreds of rounds with, but at $2.25 and up per round it gets pricey if you shoot a box or two. .45-70 is probably geared towards reloading, but I don't have any equipment, nor a place I can safely set up a reloading station. I live in Central Florida and the humid summers here are not really conducive to garage reloading setups. Like everyone else, I'm just patiently waiting for ammo prices to come back down a bit where I can buy factory loads in the $1.50 range.
2:34 I can feel when I'm out of ammo as well. There's just slightly less resistance when reloading.
Rifleman! :) Thanks for sharing.
I had to send mine in for warranty. Thebone I got had a smooth barrel and it wasn't supposed to. They swapped it out super quick and I swear they gave me a match barrel. Its so dang accurate.
Henry makes good Rifles Happy new year Conrad 🇺🇸 😎🤜🤛🔫💥💥
Thanks Dave, love it already
Ur welcome Andrew
Nice gun 👍 👍
I put a 4x32 power scope on mine, wow you are missing out at the accuracy of this gun, today I was clipping off 1/4 inch and 5/16 inch branches at 30 35 and 50 yds.
This little rifle is more accurate than you know, and with stingers it's a 22lr magnum no kidding, Henry made this great, so much so I ordered the H001M 22 magnum I can't wait to see if it's every bit it's little brother is. And I will 3x9x32 that one to see.....HAPPY TRAILS.
I have the same model, bought it almost 10 years ago. Great little lever gun as long as you keep it clean, feels like cycling against sandpaper if she gets dirty. Lever guns are the worse to break down in my experience. As long as you are willing to keep her clean she will cycle like butter.
I was planning on doing a bit of rabbit hunting with mine, sadly life and work kept me from doing that (maybe one day). I threw the cheapest AO scope on mine, a Hawke Sport Optic 4x32. Sadly i grew up where most people slap a 3x9 on their 22 and wonder why the cant hit shit within 20 yards, its a thing called paralax which is common in magnified optics. Hence why i went with an AO (adjustable objective) scope.
The hooded sight should just come off with a little bit of force, on mine it is a steel hood on a plastic sight.
I grew up shooting on a Marlin 39A (if i remember correctly) which is one of the finest 22 lever guns you will ever get a hold of. Henry being second.
I love my Henry
First thing I did was pull the hood off, looks better too
My thought was that the hood helps the shooter pick the blade up faster when mounting the gun for a fast shot
Andrew in the video said he thinks it’s to reduce glare
What do you think it’s for?
@@jeffroberts760Reducing glare, especially in direct sunlight such as cloudless day. Glint off of the gold bead front sight can make you shoot high.
The sights really could use a upgrade I wish they just put better sights on them
Sweet, Andrew! I am saving up for a Henry 357/38 spec or 44 Big Boy. But that 22 might come first.
It’s a good entry level rifle. But those two calibers are definitely on my radar as well
The front sight cover dose slide off it Removable
Very nice
awsum love it wish i had one to good job
Load on Sunday shoot all week great little rifle happy née year
goals
I just bought this rifle. Excited to shoot it.
I just installed green Hiviz front and rear sights on mine. It still "looks western" and is a huge improvement.
are they still holding up good?
@@FloridaBikeVlogger Sure are
Very cool gun! I am a lefty also. Just ordered a Ruger! Enjoy it man!
I have the same .22, but the sights came way right and high.Heirloom quality build.
Yeah, zero issues with being a lefty and this Henry
Love my Henry Golden Boy, 22. So smooth and great for practice for Cowboy Shooting. Too bad you can't use the caliber for Cowboy Shooting.....
Good gun. Henry is a excellent one to have chosen. I have thinking about getting one in 357.
It’s on my list as well!
The .357mag is also chambered for .38spl what a combo!
The only Henry I ever owned was nothing but trouble bolt wouldn’t go into battery completely but it would still fire .. unsafe and disappointing . The pot metal receiver cover with cheap black paint was also disappointing . Got it fixed and sold it so I could buy a browning bl-22 and never looked back.
Andrew you are so busy working video. Does family remember you🤣🤣🤣 . I love Henry. If could afford would have both 1892 in 38spl/.357 and .45lc. Thanks
Try it with, super Calibre, CCI Quiet segmented, or even snake shot. No silencer needed. Enjoy! (Caution! Ricochets possible)
Love the Henry. I'm planning to get a 357, 38 special Henry
Nice, I want one of those as well
Been loving my X .357, You wont be disappointed with any of their options
Just a tip I saw.. before messing with that feeding tube rod pull the lever down and leave it.. no way to shoot your eye out..lol.. well finger..
Lol, can hear those mosquitoes buzzing
They are brutal sometimes
I hear that fly buzzing you
I'd have missed a couple too
I am looking to get one of these myself. Why do the receiver screws seem to stand out so much. Are they not painted to match the cover over the receiver? As I remember the earlier H001's had black painted screws.
We have the same Henry 22. It’s a good shooter, but I agree with the sites. If you like it to shoot “quietly” use 22 shorts.
I’m on the lookout for some shorts to test this theory
@@andrewmconrad it’s not going to be suppressed quiet, but definitely no hearing protection needed.
@@andrewmconrad CCI Quiets are even quieter than shorts. They are so much fun to shoot.
Just came across your video. I've been looking at a lever action 22. And the only reason I haven't picked one up yet is the fact that it makes me feel uncomfortable putting my hand that close to the muzzle when loading it.
Put a hi viz. front sight on that little rifle I put one on mine it’s like night and day thay work great 👍 you can get one on amazon there around $30
I have 2 Henry's, the H001, classic .22 and the Henry Big Boy .357 Magnum. Looking to get the H009G, steel .30-30 or the H009X, X Model .30-30. They have been hard to come by. They're on Gun Broker, but by the time the bids are over, you will pay way over MSRP for them. Gun Broker favors sellers not buyers.
The receiver is painted not blued the barrel is blued but not the receiver or lever
I've been eyeing a Henry 22 at Walmart for $300. Seems to be the cheapest price on them... 😎
Yep, that’s what I paid for this one
1 year later, Just got one today at WallyWorld..$324 not too bad..actually surprised they had one ;)
I have the same Henry, I hate the hooded site. I had to remove the hood from the front, however I enjoy the rest of it.
I took the hood off at the range on Sunday and honestly, after shooting it without the hood, I kinda prefer the hood, but we’ll see long term
6 for 6!!
U can take a dab of white paint on your sight post and it will show up a lot better for u
I have found that buying Henry’s are as contagious as buying CZ.
my dad said i can get this gun for christmas but it would be my only present and i think its worth that trade
I think so as well.
What state are you in? If an SBR is legal in your state the Henry H001M .22 Magnum mares leg with a H001 stock is a very nice ultra-compact SBR lever-action that rips rounds with power and affordable to shoot!
I really want one of those. It's $316 at my Walmart might grab it tmr. A .357 would be awesome too
The Henry is a great gun. I would like to get a 357 also. Not too many in stock around these parts. I really only see 22LR's in stock. I want to complete the rimfire trio 22Lr, 17hmr, and 22 wmr and then more onto the big boys
@@andrewmconrad sweet👍🏻
I wanted to pick up a .22 lever.
That's going to be my next gun i think
Kinda strange that the hammer was cocked in the box
Shop around online and you will see some places selling these for close to $500.00. Wal*Mart sells them for under $300.00
Just got a Big Boy in 357 magnum
just make sure u leave action open when uload for safety im pretty sure the tube will go
Put a scope on it and enjoy easily shooting target bullseyes at 100 + yards.
I use the speed loader. Much quicker
What's the problem with getting your hands close to the mussel?
That’s not bluing it’s paint on receiver easily scratched
I will never understand why all modern lever guns do not have a loading gate
I think the 22 is too small to have a gate. I’m sure there’s a real reason
@@andrewmconrad
I agree that that might be part of the reason. Bullets in .22LR rounds aren't as tightly-seated as they are in centerfire rounds. Using the bullet-tips to push into a side-load gate might make it too easy to damage the rounds.
Just tried sharing and commenting on the new video and it wouldn't.
The butt plate isn't a "recoil pad". It's a plastic butt plate. Otherwise your review is good.
Its a .22 ? Why would ther be recoil 😅
With accuracy like that I'm sure the guys from the old west went hungry quite a bit😂😂😂25 yards 😮
Get on with it!!!MOTOR MOUTH
the sights on this rifle are terrible, they're plastic and the rear sight moves too loosely. The only alternate options are overpriced peep sights or a scope.
Great 6 for 6 ! That was good right up until you swept the cameraman with your finger still on or near trigger, Just saying. But it does look like a great gun!
5:10 please for the love of god do not swing a loaded weapon around at a range. no one will be impressed with 6 for 6 if the 7th goes into a bystander.

Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years, And then there came to them that which they were promised?
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. (Quran 26 :205-207)
Does anybody know do they still make the evil Roy carbine in 22 long rifle by Henry?
