You are a robo shooter! Everybody should own at least one Henry. I got six of em myself. A great company run by very nice people.
Thanks! I agree about the Henrys!
Love mine.
Completely agree I bought the same lever action he’s using and now I have 4 Henry lever actions great guns
Just bought one for my son. It’s tough waiting til Christmas to give it to him. From all the reviews I’ve seen they seem pretty legit.
I just bought one for my son an daughter also. They got to wait till Christmas too being that California has a 10day cool off period an the 10th day lands the 23rd the day before Christmas eve.
Just bought one for my 2nd daughter. She'll be born next month, so it'll be awhile before she takes it out.
Henry rifles are more than legit. They are the best at any price.
Just bought one for my son's 12th birthday in July. My short wait is still gonna kill me!
The Henry is only missing one thing----a Ruger Wrangler to go with it. Perfect plinking and hunting pair. They shoot the same ammo easy to use for young and old alike. Fun guns.
Those crimped shotshells have been harder to find in recent years, but the crimped ones have definitely produced much more useable patterns than the cci variety for me. Henry lever guns are just cool!
I haven't patterned these but that is something I need to do. Thanks for watching! Keep up the good work over on your channel.
I would like very much to see that. It sounded like the Federal rounds were a bit more powerful. : )
Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to create this informative video. I have recently purchased a Henry so this video was perfect for me.
Thank you for the video. I have had one of these little rifles for several years now. Absolutely zero complaints.
I really appreciate you doing a video with .22 shorts and other stuff. It seems like people do the regular .22 lr all too often and don't give any love to the other chamberings.
I own this exact rifle , it will always work , exceptional firearm !
Good to know that is cycles everything well including shorts and birdshot. Great pace and info in this video. Thanks!
I bought one about 4 months ago and can’t keep my hands off of it. At least 1000 rounds of LR down range and only 2 dud bullets. Easy to shoot and clean. I did send it back because it shot high and to the right no matter what. Henry made it right no questions asked. Great company for sure.
Just as I go for my five o'clock run Mr Buffalo shows me a new type of bullet and why the length of bullet is crucial to the type of target . Thanks . Can I say as a compliment you are like a machine firing .
Thanks! Didn't mean to interrupt your run!
Mine was an impulse buy today, own a few Henry's...44 mag/45-70/new 357 side gate loader. Walked into Big 5 today, and they had this on sale for 369...glad to see it cycles long and shorts too !
Another great video, thanks. And thanks for the tip on leaving the action open when loading. I have learned so much from your videos. You are a great teacher. I have the H001T with a Skinner peep sight.
I bought the Golden boy, and love it! Henry builds great firearms in all of their lines, and this is one of the many I want.
This is my only Henry currently but I will have more as soon as my budget allows!
"Everybody should have one of these." I agree. Just jumped this higher on my wish list. Great video, Buffalo, thanks!
Thanks! I am glad you liked the video! These are awesome little 22s!
Just purchased Henry classic today and now I stumble to this video great video!
Excellent video
Thanks for posting this
I've got one of these little rifles and they are awesome! I need to get it out and put some round down range. I've noticed some rounds are so quiet you really only hear the action of the gun. I've not put anything through mine except the 22LR so its nice to see how it functions with other 22 ammo. Nice video buffalo!
Thanks my friend! It seems to gobble up anything I throw at it! Kinda like me when it comes to food...LOL
lol
Excellent video Buffalo 🦬, I'm glad you made it showing the different types off rounds that the Henry can take. I'm on the lookout for a nice one now. Love the wood grain on yours.
Just got my daughter the youth version, large lever, eats just about everything, great video!
Good to see how the classic Henry performs.
It's extremely reliable for sure! That means a lot to me!
Awesome review brother! My grandfather was a huge Henry fan. He had several and they all had great actions and ran great! :-)
It's like me. It'll eat just about anything in sight!
HAHAHA! Same here brother!
Awesome little rifles. I bought one when they first came out years ago. Its a great little shooter and alot of fun to. Service from Henry is top notch also. My barrel band wasn't keeping the forearm tight. I gave them a call and Anthony himself talked to me. He sent me a new forearm as well as a new band. Then he decided to send me all new wood so it would match perfectly!! Great service, and I gotta say he must of been saving the wood he sent me as its the nicest wood I have ever seen for a gun in this price range. It's got a tiger stripe look to it and its awesome.
Now that's a customer service testimonial! I wish they all were like that!
Great vid. Thanks for the info, you learn something every day!
Great little rifle great review, I sure love my Henry. 💪🏽
They are great little rifles to have!
Like what you do. Keep on keeping it real for us regular people. Thanks from a regular guy from Kalifornia,, there is still many of us left.
Thanks for watching and hang in there!
Great video. simple, to the point and informative.
Thank you!
I just bought the Henry HO18 .410 lever action shotgun for my wife for her birthday. I think that before the end of the month we'll pick up one of these little Henry .22's as well, since from what I've seen they're a pretty excellent little gun. It'll be a nice match for the .410.
Just picked one these up. Thanks for the video!
Great video man. I love my henry .22. It is a lot of fun and really useful for hunting small game. Funny as soon as I got the Henry I ran out and bought .22 shorts just because it had been such a long time since I had anything that would run it. All my other .22s at the time were autoloaders. I also like the Henry because even now I still like lever guns. Thanks for the video.
I am just now starting to get some oddball .22 ammo in my stock. I thought I'd never see Longs again...lol I will never get caught with my pants down again!
great video bro. my H001 jammed like crazy on 22LR. it required the action to be cycled very fast otherwise the nose of bullet would pop up and not go into the chamber. it ran shorts fine. something about the OAL of the cartridge because when i found some shorter overall 22LRs it cycled them better
Just shot 21 shorts out of mine a few hours ago. Thanks for the awesome vids brother.
Awesome!
Absolutely outstanding video!
I just brought a henry, I never new it could use all those rounds! Thank you I love it even more now!
Awesome!
Ive gona ahead a subbed to you know... ive been watching all your videos on guns I plan on buying and guns ill never have! You reviews IMO are the best on UA-cam! You have got a personality too mate! Feels like im with a mate out in the bush enjoying life! Keep up the good work! Respect from Australia!
Great video and a awesome Henry rifle Buffalo, thanks for the video.
No problem my friend! Glad you liked it!
Great little guns. My Henry Frontier eats everything I feed it, too. Take care.
I just purchased a Henry .22 H001L carbine with the large loop. I have fired so many different .22 rounds with no issues, it is just crazy how well it performs!!
I had no idea that there was bird shot out there as well!!
Good video! Thanks.
Call me old fashioned but I would never put shot through any rifled barrel. That's what un-rifled shotguns are for. Get an over under 22 / .410 if you want to have a 22 that shoots shot.
Have you tried .22 win mag? I have the same rifle but haven’t tried it yet
No, but I had that option when I bought the Henry Golden Boy 22LR/L/S for Xmas. I preferred that option of the 3 different rounds. 22Ss are as silent as the subsonic rounds in 22LR. Took my 40 y.o. daughter to shoot for the 1st time in her life and after 10 minutes of training from this old Vietnam INF vet her first shot group @ 25yds was all within 2 in. or less of dead center. Did equally well in both prone and standing positions. She's a natural.@@tytrue1767
Loving my henry as well, smooth and accurate.
I have the model with the peep sight and larger lever loop. It shoots great and with the peep sight I can hit 2" targets at 50 yds. no problem. It has an octagon barrel. For a 22 it sure feels good because of the extra weight of the barrel.
Great review. Looks like a sweet little rifle. Thanks man.
You're welcome! Glad you liked it!
I've got a Big Boy in .357 and love it, when my son's done learning on his Rascal in about 2 years he's already got a request in for a Henry Golden Boy.
Sounds like the perfect plan! I've got my boy on a Rascal right now as well!
Like your style, short, informative, and interesting..... thanks
Thank you!
Nice rifle skills Buffalo - keep up the great work your videos are top drawer :)
THank you!
My H001 shoots shorts like butter!!
That is a dandy little rifle. I want one.
They sure are handy!
Another great video Buffalo🐂.... Now I want to buy one👍
Great Review
Nice shooting....like your accent too....thanks for the video...awesome...love bluegrass...as well..
Look like it run like a top, never shot one of those Henry’s but both my 9422 and the BL 22 seem to function perfectly with the 22 short long and long rifle, Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks man. You have an awesome collection of lever guns!
As usual a great video. Henry doesn't make a bad rifle, but they sure are proud of them: out of my budget range.
Thanks!
The H001 is one of the most affordable. 22s out there! I think it's like 378 on Henry's website, youd likely get a better deal at a gun shop
@@nicholasmapes I got mine at Walmart for $299 in 2020
Great video Buffalo. In my state we are limited to rimfires for small game hunting and 22 caliber or less in centerfire for coyotes only. That Henry sure looks practical, and more importantly, lots and lots of fun to shoot. You represent the working man/family guy shooter well. Keep up the good fight. I will join Patreon as soon as i get my tech person/girlfriend to make it happen. Peace
Thanks so much! I appreciate that. The little Henry is ideal for the things you mentioned!
Your videos are very educational!!!
I have one that I bought used at cabellas. Shoots fantastic. Very accurate.
I luv my Henry, I use the CCI CB shorts for backyard pest control
Perfect for that!
Got 4 of the Henry's as gifts to my wife and kids years ago. I got one too. You could demo how mixing the different cartridges might work? I think these rifles are just plain fun. I have found the CCI 22 Short Quiet to be very quiet yet still deliver enough velocity for short range game. Also, try some Colibri 22 powderless rounds, as powerful as a pellet gun, and shreds your favorite aluminum cans with fun.
I was going to post similar ideas to try with your Henry, mine and my daughters both have ran a mix of rounds in one loading. Never have had a single feed/ejecting every round we feed it...
It eats everything!
TAOFLEDERMAUS suppress it, for science!
Sup OG Daddy-o?
It's got an appetite!
No, it doesn't. Try running snap-caps or other types of inert ammo through it. We have one in our hunter education classes, and it consistently misfeeds with inert ammo. It's even made a trip back to the factory with no real improvement.
Evan Windom Only in your context would inert ammo be an issue. What do you do when teaching students how to cycle a pump shotgun?
@@Chief2Moon There are a variety of snap-cap type products that work well in the shotguns. We use available .22 LR snap caps in other rifles, such as the Ruger 10/22 and Ruger American, even a 45-year-old Stevens, and they feed much more consistently than the Henry does.
Don't get me wrong. I really enjoy the Henry. But the inability to reliably feed inert ammo that's commonly available on the market is a headache for us. And when it misfeeds, it's a huge hassle to clear. Think about it -- you buy a rifle for a single specific task, and it fails completely at that task. It's more than a little frustrating. At this point, it's pretty much useless for our application.
Yes, I realize our application isn't mainstream. But to say it "eats everything" is an overstatement, especially if you've never tried feeding it inert ammo.
I just one of these in 22 wmr recently, awesome guns!
I need one, I am missing a 22WMR rifle in my collection right now!
I've had mine for awhile and I like it
Great video thanks for sharing
Nice rifle Buffalo wish they would make at least one model with a loading gate, still great rifles none the less.
It seems I remember reading somewhere that there were issues with 22 lr loading gates. Maybe it was the early Marlin design, I can't remember.
No real reason for a loading gate on a .22 rifle...
They have started making a couple of their 30 30 and 45 70 models with loading gates and removable tube magazines.
I just snagged one of these on a new years deal. I wanted one for just this reason. It will feed and fire basically any 22 ammo you can find. I had forgotten about shot shells. Those would likely solve my rat issue in my back yard. Those or the Colibri rounds.
@@me2bfc If you give shotshells a try I recommend the shells federal makes. Seem to be more consistent. Hopefully they work great for you as well.
Nice video!
Making it sing! Good video
Thanks!
Good form very professional I appreciate your attention to detail and safety. Ya know.. thanks to you...! Gonna get me one or two.. my lady likes 22 !! Thank you very much...
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great information thanks
Congratulations for your guidance. It's a beautiful rifle. I liked it ... a fraternal hug from your viewer here from Brazil
Thank you!
Nice rifle to eat up everything you throw at it...I have always enjoyed a good lever action rifle as there is just something about em....Nice vid as always sir....Good stuff...
It's like me, it eats everything in sight!
Yep I am light 250lbs.....LOL
Love mine....good little shooter
I can't say enough what a great deal these are. I know they saved money on materials where they could but they used the right stuff where it was needed!
Those are some Lil' 22's I had one. And, those "Rat Shot's" loads.....0h, have I got a story on them things🔫 Nice review on the Lower-Shorter rounds going through that Lil' Rifle. TC❕
Thanks for watching Danny! Always look forward to your comments! I'd love to hear the story on the rat shot!
I bought one of these .22 Henry rifles about 4 years ago. It would shoot long rifles all day, but when it came to shorts, no way! They jammed in the chamber on almost every shot! I found that it liked the Remington Yellow Jackets more than any other round I put through it. But the grouping was over an inch and a half. Not what I wanted for squirrels. So it stays in the gun cabinet.
Well that stinks!
Great feeding little rifle. It is something that CCI or anyone makes a long anymore. It has been historic to me that a long was a LR case with a short bullet. The point contemplated was, "what is the benefit"? When CCI did the Stinger, we now had an extended case with a 32 grain bullet driven beyond normal LR velocities. CCI taking that further, took the Stinger case and necking it to .17 made the 17HM2. All fun!
re.
Very nice video, looking forward to moore videos, specialy cal .22 of different kinds ! Greetings from Sweden.
Hello from Kentucky! I'm glad you enjoy the videos!
That's a nice rifle
Thanks, it sure is reliable!
A friend of mine had a Henry and we used to go out into the woods and plink with it. Chambered in .22 short, it was one of the most quiet guns I’ve ever shot. Just a little * click*. I want to get one of my own for old time’s sake
Shes eating everything have a nice weekend bro!
You too!
Great video 👍
Thanks!
Love me a Henry rifle!! Certainly a Classic little rifle!
They are a great package at a good price point too. Thanks for watching Robert! I appreciate your support of my little channel!
I just watched this again today. Too bad we can't like them more than once.
No doubt my favorite 22 rifle if not my favorite gun period.
It is a great gun!
Henry rifles have the smoothest slickest lever action I've ever used, bar none.
I Love my Henry 22 Rifle Best One I ever had 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I just bought one yesterday, but I thought it had a longer barrel than 16" inches. Haven't shot it yet but I know it's a damn good gun!. My next henry will be a 327 mag.
Thank-You Sir!! 👍👍
Welcome!
my Henry .22 lever action always chewed through everything i fed it.
i just bought a new Henry "Evil Roy" .22 lever action that is just gorgeous!
im occasionally having .22 lr rounds nose dive into the roof of the receiver and hard jamming the action.
its rather random but it seems a common problem with some. it may have to go back to Henry for repair.
It's heresy, but I prefer the BL-22 Browning. Either way, getting a hold of 22 long is an achievement in itself! Cheers!
Ordered one yesterday from Cabela's in Canada. Not cheap $559.00 when the smoke cleared but worth it.
These are great! You will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
I saw a video with red tip tracers. It was pretty neat.
I love mine,I have the frontier though, and it works just the same.
I like the Frontiers!
You need to get a patent on that speed loader. Put me on the preorder list.
Great video Buffalo.
LOL I thought you might like that!
Man, the recoil on the 22 shorts is brutal.....lol
LOL!
Looks like Hickok45 logged into the wrong account.
So fun!!!
That's what it's all about!
I feel like the steel you’re shooting is louder than the shot with the shorts. Ha. Thanks for the video
Love the Henry lever 22. With the Skinner peep. My favorite round for plinkin' and small game. Is the aguila super collibre. I probably misspelled all of that. They are so quite. Your running" that lever like a boss.
Uncle Dan out
I love those Aguila Colibri rounds as well! I can sit on my back porch and target practice and no one in the neighborhood even knows! Thanks Uncle Dan!
Buffalo's Outdoors yeah boy you can tear those grouse up with them when you're Elk hunting in Colorado.
That would be a dream hunt for me!
Would like to see a mix of rounds in the tube to see how it cycles with a mix of lengths.
My brother has one in 22mag. I like it a lot.
Cool. I'd like to have a good .22 mag, that's something I don't have currently.
Ultra high capacity 22 lever gun there with that conversion lol. Looks like it likes the cycling better on longs than my sears does for sure
If I paint it black will it be an Assault Henry?
lol well you did give it tactical advantage over critters with that skinner sight
Henry 22s are fun and reliable
And you can make speed loaders out of soft drink straws . Just plug. And tape one end shut fill with ammo a just tape the other end and leave a tab to yank the tape off. With a little practice you can load pretty fast. Use the fatter straws .
Got any videos with a scope on this H001?
Interested in seeing some shooting done with one that has a mounted scope.
Talks "funny" but gives a good review - thumb's up!
