    I needed to see this video. Depression up, motivation down, can’t force myself to even leave the house sometimes. Then I get behind and run super hard a couple days and back to it. We’ve had so many storms, 15” rain in 10 days, 8 of those in a 3 hour time period that flooded my house. We’re working on it, could have been worse. Livable. Just money I guess. I got a lot out of this video appreciate you brother.

    Just ran across your channel. I really like how you look at things and how you stay positive and focused on the Lord. You taught me a new way to look at things when they go awry. I try to stay calm and positive but I sometimes drop the ball. You do nice work, and you have a great channel.

    4 weeks……. I had the front bearing go out in my tiger cat 2 with only 80 hrs on it. Called the dealer and they told
    Me ya drop it off………. 7 weeks we can have it back to you! How can people afford that. They wouldn’t even give me the parts under warranty because they had to do the work! Guess I’m buying parts and going to figure out how to replace them

    I used a SCAG for about 3 years taking care of a Cemetery . Lots of open ground & being in South you see lots of Fire Ant mounds . You can hit one & mower would go through them without it choking down. Whereas before the SCAG I used a Cub & John Deere & both had same horsepower as SCAG & would stall out & even warped blade on one of them. To hit a Mound with them you had to make 2 passes through mound. I have mowed 10 & 12 inch high grass & never choked it down.

    My local dealer is awesome as well.
    If my equipment goes down, they bump me up to the fix now list. It pays to buy from a dealer and let them know it's all work related, the good dealers are there for you.
    A dealer is very important for when you have equipment failure. If they put you on a long list, find another dealer that cares.

    I just bought a Turf Tiger 2...I am new to the zero turn world. I am trying to do the 3 point turns at the end of the rows, but it still scuffs a lot sometimes, and very easily it seems...especially on hillsides. Hoping its just a learning curve, or do you find that is an issue with the turf tiger in general because of the weight of the machine?

    • @elitelandscapeslifestories
      @elitelandscapeslifestories  5 місяців тому +2

      Try taking some air out of the back tires, maybe on slopes lower the throttle speed a bit, it will pull less. Let me know if this helps at all. I don’t have too many issues with it, but sometimes it’s inevitable depending on the situation.

    If its a half inch off you can adjust that. THeyre supposed to make sure of true cut height settings at the dealer but sometimes that doesn't happen. It explains how to do this in the owners manual. Not hard.

    Good video. I have a question though and I can’t find anybody more qualified to answer it than yourself. There are a lot of “opinions” on the internet but I wanted to ask a pro. On a SCAG V-deck, where do you run the baffle for the best stripe? What about the pitch? Do you pitch it down 1/8” in the front or run it level?
    Thanks. I really don’t want to buy a striping kit and don’t see one on most mowers.

    I always wanted a Scag, but when they switched to EFI and all of those electronic controls that killed it for me, as I repair all of my own equipment, and I will not be tied to a dealership...nor do I care to invest in the requisite diagnostic equipment, or expensive circuit boards and modules when they need replacing.

    • @failranch9542
      @failranch9542 6 місяців тому

      I don’t know about the Turf Tiger, but I bought a Tiger Cat II last year and specified and received a carburetor. 24 hp Kawasaki. You get into the 30 hp and above and I do not know if they are still available. I do not like the fact that the throttle cable seems to have disappeared on the TT-II he was showing here. Drive by wire on a lawnmower is a solution looking for a problem. Bad idea in my opinion.

    • @bobbylibertini
      @bobbylibertini 6 місяців тому

      @@failranch9542 Yeah, drive-by-wire and all of the other delicate electronics are bad enough on cars...add in the abuse, dust, moisture, etc. that those electronics will be exposed to on mowers and farm equipment...and it's basically just planned obsolescence. My Grasshopper and Gravely ZTRs are 16 years old and still very reliable, and cheap and easy to repair when something does give. With the electronic stuff, forgetaboudit! And if you're planning to keep it long-term, once they stop making the circuit board or other component ya need...you're screwed. It's bad enough while they DO still make them....they ream you on the price- just like modern appliances which are basically disposable now when they break.

    • @200434ton
      @200434ton 5 місяців тому

      Its not about being "tied" to a dealership. EFI stuff is not hard to diagnose yourself man.

    • @bobbylibertini
      @bobbylibertini 5 місяців тому

      @@200434ton If you don't purchase the special small-engine scanner (They don't use automotive OBD II)...you'd just have to guess and do parts cannon. Me? I'm not investing in a diagnostic system for ONE lawnmower (and I believe the scanners are brand specific, no less...)- I mean, if I could just plug in my automotive scanner, then it'd be fine. And it's not just the EFI- but the controls, etc. There's just no reason to replace cables and simple mechanical devices with delicate electronics. Ya know how many times I had to replace a sensor on one of my mowers in the last 30 years? NEVER- 'cause they don't have any. Ya know how many times I've had to take one of my ZTRs to a shop for repairs? NEVER......

    Scag double the price of these mowers . I bought my Turf Tiger 61" Kawasaki 29hp DFI in 2011 for 11,500 now 18,000 if you are lucky.
    It only has 390 hr on it and now it's cutting out and backfiring after 30 mins of mowing. There is a tool # 57001-1500 ,ECU adapter that can be connected between
    the ECU & wiring harness but Kawasaki don't sell it anymore, Thanks Kawasaki !

      Sounds like your valves are out of adjustment. It's an easy repair just need $10 feeler gauge

    • @goodboyringo9716
      @goodboyringo9716 7 місяців тому

      @@alanruechel2240 ... The engine runs great until it starts cutting out as if running out of gas.This is when it backfires. At that time the engine needs to be turned off. After a short time the engine will run great again. The ECU may be cutting the fuel pump off. The valve are not out of adjustment. They would surely tick if they were loose but that wouldn't cause backfiring , a bent valve or open valve would . Open intake it would backfire out carb, open exhaust valve backfire out exhaust The mower has a problem maybe with the evap. You should take a mechanic class and learn about valves. ^/6/2024 I found out why the engine was cutting out and backfiring. Unbelievably , what they are calling the rollover valve was bad. It is located on the top of the gas tank to vent the tank to the carbon canister . I really can't believe that this valve would cause these problems.
