They definitely should’ve left in the scenes about Wendy and Danny not being able to look each other in the eyes because it makes their final scene more meaningful

As a father, the “baseball boy” scene was absolutely heartbreaking. I had to look away at one point during it.
When me and my friend saw that scene, we were really disturbed.
As a dude who is infertile due to having been castrated thanks to cancer, it still sucked for me. Dw, humans are just generally built to be disturbed by watching helpless members of our species get tortured and murdered.
Yeah, it’s hard to watch. I’m not even a parent, it was just really brutal and disturbing and reminds you similar things happen in the real world every day. I winced hearing him scream and cry. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to watch that scene with a parent’s perspective.

Even the True Knot actors were terrified after doing that scene. That’s how haunting it is!
i thought the kid went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror to change the color of his eyes so that his mother could look at him and not see her husband's eyes. i think he changes his eye color to blue or green. he changes his eye color to ewan mcgregor eye color lol

Yep. So that his mom’s not constantly reminded of what happened to them or her husband. It’s a brilliant subtlety and appearance continuity fix so that we can focus more on the character.
It’s pretty rare to see a really good directors cut and I’m so glad this movie did it right

I love all of the extra clips and longer scenes in the movie. Even if some of the extended scenes were not exactly perfect they were amazing to me.

I really love the voice Ewan McGregor uses for this movie. He does a voice that in a way echoes Jack Torrance , and yet also has a style of its own. What an actor

Thank you again for bringing this back. I remember all the brainstorming done on stream when you were doing the original cut comparison, trying to find the right fonts, the right sounds, the right music, laying the graphics out to find what suited it best. How far we have come.

And I also have one that IT got the pennywise look from an actual clown named pennywise

This movie should truly be considered as an example of excellence in horror. I used to be able to watch horror movies without any effect on me, but as a father now, the baseball scene honestly disturbed me for days. As a King reader since 6th grade, I am so happy they found a director who truly understands the material.
You're gonna hear from my lawyer about that "steak" line...

Just a reminder y'all, every year from January-May James takes a break from weekly Kill Count's because they're a lot of work and he doesn't want to get burnt out. The next one is Spree which will be out Friday the 12th
I almost always exclusively prefer the theatrical cuts, but this is one of the few where I just adore the director’s cut. Love seeing more of Mike Flanagan’s ideas.

I also love how the DC's chapters are set up in a way where you can very easily pause and return to them if you don't want to take the entire movie in on one sitting. I think I watched this over 3 days to really let it all sink in and it worked perfectly.
You put so much effort into this and you deserve some applause.
Still bums me out this movie hasn't been seen by more people, one of the best movies of the last decade period!

James amazing enthusiasm never gets old
I like the chapter titles. I feel like they show you how far you're in, that you just reached the climax of a segment, and that you should expect a little slowness in the next five minutes. Really helps get you through the three hours of the theatrical cut - I didn't even notice how long it was.

I especially enjoyed the night drive back to the overlook. Danny's gift's they never talk about in the original. Like the death flies? That really fucked me up when I saw them crawling all over that chicks face. Sequels suck most times! But I have to say I enjoyed this as much as the original.
