VIDEO IDEA! I saw your Catan Strategy data video and so I thought you would be the v most interested in this. I have read that when you are on 8 cards (4 sheep and 4 wheat) and nobody wants to trade and you can't do anything besides 4-1, you should hold your cards and take a chance. 100% losing 3 cards vs 52% chance of losing 4 cards if you don't gain any cards before 7 rolls. I would like to see the data for this as well as.... What if they gets more cards and then 7s out? Like what if they had got 9 cards and then 7s out? Also does this change depending on the production late game vs early game? If they are in first and anticipate getting stolen from on a 7 roll from another player after the 4-1, does having 4 wheat and 1 brick mean its better to 4-1 than say 1 wood, 1 brick, and 3 wheat? Or a 7 out with 4 sheep/4 wood then getting stolen from. How does this change for a 3-1 port? Love your videos! Let me know if you would like me to do the stats/theory and send you the results for cross examination before putting together a video!
Thanks! To answer: as 7th or 8th it's a lot less problematic, because these spots are expected to be less valuable than the spots picked by 4th, 5th and 6th. It depends on the board a lot. If the sand-tile is in the Outer Ring, I don't recommend going for the 8/10 even with 7th or 8th. But in general: look at the strength of your opponents' set-ups to determine it yourself.
Ok I just won a 5 player game of catan and somehow managed to play both OWS and road builder in the same game and took both largest army and longest road and won. I have no idea how I pulled it off. Hopefully you can see this and be proud of me lol 🙏
Nice improvement on the quality! Well done!
Thanks Dylan!

Very well edited video.
What you think about 8/10 or similar with 3:1 port when placing 7th or 8th (even if there’s 3 a hex left open) in general?

@@Treeckosaurus Thanks
Good points! I love setups like this, and its definitely a fine line when to take it or an alternative :) nice editing too
Thanks David!
Do you plan on making more catan content?
Yes, there's a very big project next in the pipeline

Sometimes, but I don't have the time
Next time use the greenscreen to shop yourself in a funny Background please!
There's an argument to do this for entertainment value. My argument against doing it: it takes away from the videos' message.
