I just finished the world quest for searching the eternal oasis yesterday and it reveals that Liloupar was responsible for Gurabad's downfall. Her 'prophesies' were more like her plans for her husband after he cheated on her and she was punished for doing so by being stripped of her powers.
After listening to Yanfei for a while for my lore hunger, I was a bit peckish for Kazuha to be my lore fix. Alas, Kazuha has returned. Welcome back Klementime!
Liloupar wanted to make sure that the rulership is not abused, as it is one of her mistress' wishes. And by that, she orchestrated everything in order to preserve the so-called "order", in which she believed in.
Very good video. I have to say that the lines that King Deshret said in the Staff of Scarlet Sands happen only after the death of the Goddess of Flowers, and in there he sounded angry, mad, grieving. That might not be his original ambition and instead was only a wish out of grief that everything doesn't matter anymore because the one he loved is dead. The closest to what his ambition would be, is in my opinion, these lines from the artifact (happens before GoF's death): "You seek but to chain the winds. Upon the tombstone of divinity shall humanity become the god of gods." "Such a carefree dream was certain to be unmade. In ruins where lies are sundered, humanity will become the king of kings." Just wanted to say this out there because I think the Staff of Scarlet Sands's description is more emotionally affected by the state of King Deshret during that time.
[Spoilers] I think it should be noted that Liloupar confirms that she was the one that manipulated the entire situation with Ormazd and his progeny's downfall after she became disillusioned with him once be became a tyrant
She got fed up with his tyranny, so she destroyed the whole region with half of the people in it + all the people who were suffering for 2 generations prior the the execution of her plan. Not only that, she released some Abyss stuff into Gurabad. And Abyss "accidents" are never a one-time thing. Also, HYV just had to add some incest into their story... It is based on a real life occurence though it's more based on the folk lore version of it. Kisra is the Arabic rendition of Khosrow II, the Shah of Persia in the times of Prophet Muhammad pbuh, notoriously known in Islamic world as the only king who tore down the prophet's diplomatic letter to him, to which his kingdom is cursed to be torn down one day (it did happen after the lifetime of both of them). But that aside, (one of) Khosrow's wife is named Shirin, and he did have a son named Shiruyeh or Sheroe who committed coup against him, ruled briefly as Kavad II, then died in a plague (also known as "Plague of Shiruyeh", just like in Genshin), however real life Shiruyeh is not Shirin's son but from Khosrow's another wife, Maria. Also the striking difference compared to Genshin version is, real life Shirin and Khosrow did love each other.

Spoiler: Kisra is actually a son of Liloupar, as the latter confessed in an ancient text tablet. So that makes Kisra and Shirin half-siblings and husband/wife. This is one of the reasons why their son, Shiruyeh, probably wore a mask because he had deformities (again stated in the texts) and not only to hide his relation to Kisra his father. To summarize some facts not mentioned in the video: 1. Liloupar is the Mother of Jinns. Goddess of flower bore/created her. 2. Goddess of flower is already understood to be the last moon sister. A new entry in one of the books in the Archive tells more on the story of the 3 moon sisters. 3. The seelies were a race that lived with the moon sisters. There were 3 moons in Teyvat representing the bodies of the moon sisters. After 2 of the moons disintegrated, the moon dust fell on Teyvat. These moon dusts became the empty husks/seelies on Teyvat. Liloupar described it such that the moon dust that fell were inhaled by some of the Teyvat inhabitants and created a moon heart inside of them. Now, only 1 moon is left on Teyvat. This is probably the reason why Goddess of flower was able to retain a physical form and original memories was because there is still 1 moon left in the sky, although technically it's already a husk of the original. 4. Back to Liloupar, she used the Abyss power to create that Shiruyeh's Plague that swallowed Gurabad. 5. Something so contextually important that was not mentioned in the video was that during King Ormazd's reign, slavery was so rampant. Guess who the slaves are? THE JINNS. They're the ones powering those mechanicus machines and their treatment was so bad, whips and all. I like this story so much because it referenced big time to the time of Egyptian slavery of the Israelites. In retrospect, this would make the Goddess of flowers a bit like Jesus Christ who came down from the heavens to earth, and her people, the Jinns, to an Israelite. This context is important as to understand why the Goddess of Flower planned her death, yes she planned her death which King Deshret could never fathom why. Juts go back to 3.0 and 3.1 lore.
The Jinni weren't Ormazd's slaves instead the slaves were the malformed children of Shirin whom Kisra used to power the machines. In Ormazd's time, they still used regular people as slaves, but was abolished during Kisra's time because Jinn-powered automatons were doing all the manual labour. People revolted because they had no means to make a living, were starving and Kisra's tyranny did not make the situation any better.
... "Mother... Mother...!" "What are we but soulless machines, slaves amongst Jinn..." "We have no names, nor has anyone ever heeded our cries..." "Our vessels were carved into shape by vicious torments. Hatred fuels us..." "This gathering hate builds within, creating the desire to destroy..." "In the name of the moon's bright, disfigured face, we make this final pledge..." "May the sands chip through your withered lungs. May all that is green be scorched to ashes..." "And at last, we shall break the chains that have bound us since our inception..." "And we will return to the embrace of our unjustly tormented birth mother, Shirin..." - Desert Pavilion Artifact set
@@troyrobertluna6151 you only missed the part where the Jinn powered automatons where whipped. It was a human slave who wondered of this in an ancient text. It's one of those inside Liloupar's shrine.
These malformed children are also Jinn descent since both Kisra and Shirin are half-jinns, Liloupar bore both of them. Hence, the malformations. But they are Jinn. Dori's Jinn looks like it's one of those malformed ones.

There was an ancient tribe that looks like tighnaris, and for some reason, the Aranaras don't like that tribe, and so even today, they avoid tighnari like a plague.

Such an amazing video, the story of Gurabad is very spread through out Sumeru so it was a bit hard to put it all together. Great work !!
WELCOME BACK!!!!!
And thanks for this video it made a lot of things clear
great Job 👍
This video is so well made, orderly without unnecessary graphics, constantly changing the font or its color, the graphics are nicely presented, the voice is very nice to listen to. This is the first video I watch on this channel, there are so many such channels, but so far this one tells the lore best in my opinion.
Glad to see you make a new content again
I can't believe how high quality these videos are. The editing, the narration and even the subtitles. Keep it up man
This is so high quality. All the maps, the custom art
Its amazing
For real
I am just finished the dirqi balqies world quest and want to know more about gurabad, this vid really come in clutch.
Please also include the stone slate that written in jinni language too for next part. The stone slate can be read only after completing the liloupar sequel quest after finishing dirqi balqies. Cmiiw I have not fully discover all the stone slate but for several stone that I discover seems like written by liloupar for shirin maybe in some slate it also explain liloupar whereabout after the first usurp
Klementime is fucking back. Joy has returned.
I know I could probably have just searched UA-cam for a Genshin lore channel but I think it's awesome that you shopwed up in my Recommended at random anyway.
Holy shit!! That is some riveting history right there. I couldn't make heads or tails of the characters and timeline in the game, but damn this is crazy exciting. I can't wait for the next part!
I’m so glad your back to uploading videos! You’re Genshin Impact lore videos are one of the best out there!
Ikr! I like that his videos are like genshin documentary. And is it much more organized than most lore vids. I really love klementime's narration. Seriously he needs more views.
@@illiah9168 I couldnt agree more
Now i know why the name of the city is "gurabad" gurabad in persian mean the land of dead or the deathland and so we can say how the people in gurabad suddenly died by the big crack explains the name of the land . Also in persian mt damavand has a lot of lore in it . Good job again hoyoverse. Also great video❤️
you'll need anouther version with Liloupar's confirmed story :D
When the world needed him the most he returned
would be nice to see a little update section reflecting what information the new area has confirmed in your part 2 vid (mainly that it was liloupar who killed ormazd)
Omg ??? Really?
Spoiler lol :D
Bruh this is literally some game of thrones types shit...
I tried to read whatever I could find while exploring the new area and it was missing some context but what I read did not paint a pretty picture.
I'm so so glad that Klemen is back!
No one else can make such summary for events that's not directly told in main story!
Why did I remember Eren Yeager after hearing Paradise Kingdom
one of my favorite genshin lore content creator is back
It feels like watching a movie, I was investeddd. Can't wait for the next parts!!
Your come back is the best. I've followed your channel since your video about Tsurumi Island, and now here. Thank you and hope your channel will keep growing more and more.
OMG thank you so much for making this! 😭🙏 I literally did not understand the story quest no matter how many times I re-read lines.
I love how you told the story, not like the "other" one. Miss your videos btw.
How there was a celestial nail in mt. Damavand before the building of the eternal oasis
I could fall asleep to your videos but my minds keeps urging to watch. But honestly it almost feels like a bed time story
YIPPE!! KLEMENTIME!! thanks for more lore friend, really appreciate your videos
I just realized Klementime sounds like Kazuha lol
Ever since I've read the book Shiruyeh and Shirin (beginning of Sumeru patch) I have braced myself to all the heavy lores I might encounter in the dessert and oh boy it was such a mess! Thanks for narrating it so effectively. It makes me understand it a lot better than just me reading all the books, artifacts and weapons all by myself. Appreciate you and your team for doing all the effort to compile everything and narrate it for us. Looking forward for more!!
I didn't know how to explain the lore to my friends without it being so confusing and you did such a great job! Sharing it right now, well done :D
It's nice to hear that voice again. Welcome back Klementime
You were just a few days late for this vid , now we got new info that replaced some info in here
I need the part 2 so bad rn. But I will wait patient for you hoping for the best quality.
Am I the only one that he sounds like Kazuha? Nice explanation to the lore thanks.
Kazuha's voice is so soothing
I was wondering what all the lore in the new patch meant... It sounded so interesting but didn't know where to begin looking to get an idea of what was happening. This video made me finally understand what was going on, so thank you! Can't wait for the next parts!
Lore archon fr. Welcome back, king.
Your channel definitely deserves way more recognition than it already has.
I will always see the goddes of flower in Nilou, thats why always I love her!!
Klementime, returning and showing us this lore with beautiful illustration truly needs a praise! Glad your back
KlemenTime, the National Geographic of Genshin lore
You might want to check out the murals in the ruins of Gurabad. They look simalar to the ones in tsurumi and dragonspine
I am so happy for your return u deserve so much more than this. hope ur return would come better than before
Good thing I have watched this before doing Liloupar's quest. I was able to follow the storyline. Thanks Klementime 💕
god you're a life saver!! I never put too much effort reading through the desert lore as much as I did with Enkanomiya because it's sooooo time-consuming reading and exploring to 100% simultaneously. This is one hell of a story-telling thanks a full lot, let's see each other every new area up until Khaenriah!
thank fuck for this, I didnt want to take the time to piece together all the notes in the desert lol
Why does this guy sound like kazuha
Welcome back. One of my fav lore channels on Genshin lore.
i love how clearly you listing the source of all your information so that if people want to read them directly of want to dig deeper into the lord can have a clue to start, well done my friend.
Great video, I am so glad you are back. Can’t wait for part 2😊
A very well made video!!! I felt I was all over the place with gurabad's lore so a video putting it all in order is much appreciated!!
klementime, our god of lores is back!!! i stop explore sumeru because of the vast area and multiple lores. seeing this makes me wanna play again.
Well Liloupar said to traveler that she is behind of the demise of gurabad for the city was full of greed and it needs to be stopped.
Omg he's alive! Welcome back. I'll watch this after I'm done with mine
YEYYY YOU ARE BACK!!! ONE OF THE BEST LORE UA-camRS IS HERE 😄😁🙏
You summarized the desert lore so well! This was very interesting to watch!
You got me with the Age of Empire III soundtrack.
you have such a great voice and the production value of the video is so good! it was super easy to follow :) ty for the video!
City of the Tighnarians? Does that mean there was a Tighnari worshipper civilization I was not aware of?! ALSO WELCOME BACK I CANNOT WAIT TO WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO 🎉
Tighnari is a god confirmed 😎
There was an ancient tribe that looks like tighnaris, and for some reason, the Aranaras don't like that tribe, and so even today, they avoid tighnari like a plague.
Great video but you could've also mentioned the name of the book (along with picture) under the source section at top left corner. So I could find the book in game and read it myself.
The 'Dirge of Bilqis' quest (in 3.4 patch) adds one more layer to the story of the city of Gurabad.
Klementime's back!!! ty for covering this part of lore, as scattered through the desert as it is my brain was struggling a lot to understand what was going on
Omg I was waiting for the return of the King. You did not disapoint with that banger video
This is so good. Very underrated video I hope it gains more traction and views.
