yes, but it was like 15 years ago. By the way he is playing with the rolling stones while being supper chill, I´d say he already knows that he is basically a legend :)
Rolling Stones and John Mayer =a phenomenal performance 🎉🎉. This is a stellar combination of 2 different types of musicians, but they compliment each other perfectly and it's sounding incredible 🎉🎉
RE Mayer’s 🎸 playing: THIS is the type of music that suits him the BEST! I haven’t heard him sounding as 👍 ever before! He should be doing MORE like it - 👏 performance imho!
Of all the Stones' guitarists, John's style probably most closely resembles Mick Taylor. Id like to see John join them for a song or two 5:10 from Sticky Fingers or Exile.
Beautiful footage and excellent sound quality it could and should be a benchmark for other concert recordings. Edit: How many hours did you spend alone or with friends watching music videos? For me the answer is countless. Imagine a music collection today of hundreds of HD videos like this one and just hitting play. In the future videos have to be HD or virtual reality. If not we will end up losing these great artists like footprints in the sand to time and tide. If the old videos can be cleaned up, restored, made whole into HD quality I think it’d be like mining gold.
👍 Great combo - from the Baby Boomer ‘classic rock’ years to one of today’s generation’s leading 🎸ist’s on the same stage! I’m 70ish and imo thought THIS was a 🌟 performance by all - although I didn’t think Mick was nearly, if at all, good in the others from the same concert. My guess is that it had to do with Mayer’s presence - they seemed to mesh together better than the others did.
Yeah in my opinion literally. Don’t get me wrong he certainly can play and shows it everyone. Keith stand acknowledging in the back plays his sceleton style and may think I made it by playing less. It’s a ripping version anyway.
Neither Keith, nor Ronnie, have ever aspired to play the way Mayer did. Sure, Mayer's is good but how many catchy guitar hooks has he come up with that form the basis for a hit single? No guitarist rivals Keith in that regard.
He usually can’t imho! I’m 70ish and have watched MANY of Mayer’s performances from his earlier years till present. He IS 👍 in THIS one though, and I’ve never seen/heard him play 🎸 SO well! I’d consider Steve Vai, SRV, Derek Trucks (I went to his TTB concert recently), and others as being a lot better, PLUS consistently so too, much more than Mayer.
Humilde opinion.

Does Jagger not say at the beginning, “You think we’re going to do a blues right, but we’re not going to do the blues. We’re going to do this song called Respectable”? Something like that. Either way, John Mayer is remarkable. He can, and will, play any style with anyone.
The way John Mayer destructs a RS performance is exemplary. What Mayers does here is nothing but his regular superficial playing wich reflects his personality.Mayer is a competitive, selfish kind of player, capable of ruining a song in order to pretend he is the best onstage.John Mayer believes that more is more, but is also true that enough is enough.Mayer is so ambitious he has no limits.
@@matthewrigg893Personally, I wouldn’t consider Mayer as being a 🎸 virtuoso by any means. There are MANY others who I’d put way above his playing - both past and present! He just happened to be 👍 in THIS performance.
@@elainemeyer5062 the ones you think are as good as him are probably the ones who have said he is one of the best. He is like this in almost all his performances, he is a master on the guitar. Clapton's words, not mine.
@@matthewrigg893 😊 I do recall reading that statement made by Clapton about Mayer’s 🎸 talent. I personally prefer Clapton over Mayer though, as I do SRV, Steve Vai, Derek Trucks, Haynes, and others. John Mayer is very good.
@@user-qr7ee2cp4y The dollar is expensive.
Imagine being John Mayer- someone who grew up learning guitar and listening to the stones now getting the chance to go up on stage and play with them
He must be having the time of his life
Consider this: you'll never see one performance, not one, where JM half-asses it. Always on point.
Meyer the best guitarist on that stage

WOW! That was fantastic! Expand the Stones, at this point, why not. John Mayer fits perfectly right in, Keith still holds the reins.
John blew the stones out of the water here
The stones tried that once with mick taylor... Ron wood was a much better fit.

Just what 'The Stones 'need 👍
John's an extraordinary guitarist. If he toured with them he'd steal the show nightly.
I don’t think he would, but he’s awesome though.
Na!
No, he wouldn't. He is a guitarist extra ordinair though.
John’s guitar tone is huge. Ronnie go home…NOW! #oneluckysap
Ronnie Wood sucks

Yes I was thinking and wondering what Mick Taylor would of done on this song
Cracking version this
A, respectable . Allways to gift ladies 🎉🎉.
John ha convertido una cancion medianamente regular, en una cancion brutal.
A voir absolument : John Mayer and Eric Clapton " Pretending " for the 70 th birth day celebration of Clapton...
